Introduction:

EHM Series slurry pump is mainly using for handing strong abrasive, high density slurries and low density, high head slurries in the metallurgical, mining, coal, power, building material and other industrial departments etc. The head of EHM-4D is ranging from 12 to 65 meters and the capacity is from 162 to 360 cubic meters per hour accordingly.

Structure:

The frame plates of this kind of slurry pump have replaceable wear-resistant metal liners. The impellers are made of wear-resistant metal. The frame plate liner and impeller for EHM slurry pump are adoptable of hard metal only.

Bearing assembly of this kind of slurry pump use cylindrical structure, adjusting the space between impeller and front liner easily, being removed completely when being repaired. Bearing assembly use grease lubrication.

The shaft seal of this kind of slurry pump could use the packing seal, expeller seal and mechanical seal. The discharge branch can be positioned at intervals of 45 degrees by request and oriented to any eight positions to suit installations and applications.

MTConnect Names Memex to Lead Working Group on Best Practices

Will establish guidelines for implementing open standards that would unify machine tools around the world.

The MTConnect Institute, an organization that develops and provides open standards to foster unified machine tools in facilities worldwide, named Memex Automation to lead the working group it has established to formulate best practices and overall guidance.

David McPhail, president and CEO Memex Automation Inc., will lead the working group, along with John Turner, director of technology for FA Consulting and Technology. Other members of the group will be manufacturing equipment providers, independent software vendors, consultants, and users.

The Legacy Machine Tool Connectivity Working Group was introduced in September at IMTS 2010 by the MTConnect Institute and the OPC Foundation. OPC, which develops open specifications for interoperability in automation, and MTConnect have outlined a plan to develop standards called MTConnectOpcUa, which will be a set of specifications to ensure interoperability and consistency between MTConnect specifications and OPC specifications, along with the manufacturing technology equipment, devices, software or other products that implement those standards.

MTConnect is a manufacturing industry standard that is being implemented for organized distribution and retrieval of process information among CNC machine tools. Initial development of the standard was conducted jointly by researchers at the University of California-Berkeley and the Georgia Institute of Technology, with input from machine shops, original equipment manufacturers, and machine tool manufacturers.

Mexex, which is based out of Burlington, Ont., is a unit of Astrix Networks Inc., which uses the R&D of Memex Electronics, a supplier of component hardware, memory upgrades, and shop-floor communication technology to the manufacturing sector.

?This proposed working group is critical for enabling MTConnect on the countless number of manufacturing?s legacy machine tools and I fully expect our MTConnect Technical Advisory Group to approve this new working group,? said Dave Edstrom, president and chairman of the MTConnect Institute.

Watlow?, a designer and manufacturer of electric heaters, controllers and temperature sensors, announces the availability of the control area network (CAN) J1939 digital output signal with its EXACTSENSE? high temperature thermocouple for exhaust gas temperature measurement. EXACTSENSE is also available with pulse width modulated (PWM), local interconnect network (LIN) and analog 0-5V output signals.

The CAN J1939 output signal eases integration of EXACTSENSE thermocouples into diesel exhaust after-treatment systems. It requires fewer inputs than a traditional analog sensor and connects easily with the engine control module. The CAN output signal also allows the EXACTSENSE sensor to share self-diagnostic messages with the engine control unit to meet on-board diagnostics requirements.

The EXACTSENSE sensor combines the durability and high temperature capabilities of a thermocouple with an integrated sensor control unit. This combination delivers the accuracy and response time needed to meet demanding global diesel emissions requirements. It is specifically designed to measure exhaust gas temperatures for over the road medium and heavy-duty vehicles, and off-road construction, mining, agriculture, marine and locomotive equipment.

The EXACTSENSE thermocouple is available in a variety of configurations for high temperature applications including diesel particulate filters (DPF), diesel oxidation catalysts (DOC), selective catalytic reductions (SCR), exhaust gas recirculated (EGR), lean nitrogen oxides (NOx) trap (LNT), turbochargers, burners and reformers. The CAN sensor features an accuracy of ?7?C, response time of approximately 5 seconds in 20 m/sec flowing air, and availability with immersion lengths from 25 up to 200 millimeters.

The single drum rollers ASC 110, 130, 150 and 170 in the weight category from 11 to 17.5 tonnes are now available in a compact design. Reduced drum and drum frame width and a weight transfer in the drum frame have resulted in a static line load increase for the same overall weight. Each one of these models therefore achieves compaction results that are comparable to those of conventional products of the next higher weight category.
Cost-optimised single drum roller
The ASC 120 will be introduced to non-CE markets as a cost-optimised 12-tonne single drum roller in addition to the proven ASC 100. The ASC 120 has a higher overall weight and increased static linear load and is based on the proven, high-quality components of the ASC model range. Its standardised configuration is available with a driver's cab and/or ROPS and with a smooth or pad foot drum. HAWE Hydraulik SE, Munich, has developed a pressure actuated valve for AC and DC units that can be used with operating pressures up to a maximum of 800 bar. It is suitable for applications requiring a volume flow of up to 20 lpm: for example, in die-cutting technology and for high-pressure tools, torque wrenches, and forming tools.

The pressure actuated valve is designed as an intermediate plate with a 2/2-way seated valve and is mounted between the pump and connection block or connection to the consumers. The valve's switching response is set using orifice, as a function of the pump's volume flow. This enables the pressure actuated valve to be combined with different kinds of pumps, for example, with a compact power pack from HAWE Hydraulik. Single-acting consumers are retracted and extended solely by switching the unit on and off, without electric valve control.

Using a pressure actuated valve makes it possible to eliminate the release valve that is typically required. Because this is generally a solenoid valve, the use of a pressure actuated valve reduces the total cost of installation and cabling. It also facilitates the control of the hydraulic system.

Compared with spool valves, this pressure actuated valve also reduces the energy requirement: because it is a directional seated valve, it is leak-free in the closed position, so there is no additional leakage. It also offers highly reliable switching over a long lifespan.
