In life some things just seem to go together: peanut butter and jelly, Romeo and Juliet, Dooney & Bourke... you get my drift. In my life, however, there are two prominent factors that just don't seem to want to match up- unemployed and addicted to shopping. That's why when Forever 21 opened up a brand new, double story store in my town's mall I was beyond ecstatic. For prices not much higher than $40 I could buy everything my closet has been longing for. And the clothes look cute, too! F21 offers the perfect "low" pieces to mix with some higher end threads that I already own. No need to break the bank for designer duds when you can have runway looks at unbeatable prices. Now those are two things that should definitely be paired together.

to read or not to read, that is the question

It's only been about three hours and already I'm hooked on blogging. Good for me, not good for my English grade. This has become my new source of procrastination, replacing browsing Facebook for good pictures and aimlessly searching the web for that perfect pair of brown leather boots. Right now my parents believe I am studiously working on my English essay on Catcher in the Rye, however my mind can't seem to focus on Holden Caulfield and his peculiar dislike of phonies. Instead, my brain has been on constant replay of different ideas for my blog, reanalyzing each one until I've nearly reached the brim of insanity. The thing is, I'm just not interested in my schoolwork when I know there is a better option that doesn't require a stuffy grade or classroom lecture. It's ironic, isn't it? A blogger that dreads writing her English essay. When it comes to things like this, though, I ask myself, what's the point? In a few years I'm not going to remember the grade I got on a single math test or what I thought of Piggy in Lord of the Flies. What will remain important, however, is this blog, so long as it lasts long enough to make an impact on my life.

Well, I better be off now to analyze J.D. Salinger's writing techniques and how they help me further understand the novel. It's appealing, I know.

new beginnings

A wise man once said "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans". But according to Carrie Bradshaw, life is what happens when you're waiting for a table.

Once again, our favorite tulle-wearing sex columnist has hit it right on the nail. Life changes inexplicably fast, unable to be stopped or reversed no matter how hard you try. Your past will always remain your past, and the present will take place regardless of where you are in your life. However, when it comes to the future the choice remains in our hands.

My newest endeavor in life has become this blog. At nearly 16 years old with a love for writing and shopping, I have decided to share my personal scrapbook with the rest of the blogging world. The chances of becoming the next Hillary Kerr are low, but I might as well try.

This blog will consist of everything that's now, whether that be the new Jimmy Choo 24/7 collection or an interesting piece of art. In times where the #1 spot on the iTunes Top 100 changes daily, one thing you can be sure of is life will continue to happen. And I can assure you I will be right there the entire time, tracking it all by blog post by blog post.
