Well with the Florida Summer being hotter than Satan’s ballsack, I wanted to try to do what I could to keep my intake charge temps in check. My current setup consisted of 2 polished 3-inch tubes with K&N’s on the end. Everything was out in the open, and the pipes would get stupid hot after driving for just a bit.

This is how she was

After reading a bunch online, it seems the stock intake with panel K&N’s flows enough for these cars that run mid 11’s in the 1/4. I’m comparably modded so I thought "let’s go back to the plastic intake".

Charge boxes mounted, waiting for the panel filters to dry.

Everything tidied up. The stock setup has the tubes mount through the front radiator support to grab fresh air from the sides. Everything fit back like a glove.

And since I was in the modding mode, I finally installed my pillar setup with 2 Aeroforce Interceptors. One to read the Engine Control Module, and the 2nd gauge reads the Transmission Control Module.

Car seems to run just as good, although the Supercharger whine is definitely not as apparent. I’m ok with that though. Going to keep an eye on Intake Air temps and see how they look today in the heat. With the amount of pulley I’m running and it being 100° out in the day, I need to slow the heat soak as much as I can.

During tech inspection they check for brake pedal firmness. My brakes are… a little mushy to say the least. Hopeful guess: just some air in the lines and I need to bleed them. Next guess: leak inside the master cylinder. How firm does the pedal need to be?

First time for everything. I have a very odd space where i need to put my 55 inch lcd I use as a computer monitor, and I couldnt find any existing furniture that was shallow enough (I only need 13 inches deep, as well as the right height of 26 inches.

So, i had some spare lumber lying around, and decided I would just build it

Took some 2×4s, put a nice curve on the end with the bandsaw which will act as the legs. I need it to be really sturdy since it is so narrow, which means long forward legs

Roughed out the crossbars to width

Grabbed and cut a nice 13 inch piece of fir for the tabletop, but it turned out to be really warped, so i had to discard it and think up another idea….

Had a couple of 2×6s lying around, did a glueup with two of them, giving me my 13 inches. Clamped it up real tight, and when it was done you cant even tell it was two pieces

Cut four table legs and the crossbar for the center of the tabletop

Completely roughed out at this point, but its ugly, its 2×4s, i expected that. Time to sand everything down and give the edges some nice routing

Sanded everything down, got a nice clear look to it like knotty pine, starting to look less like 2×4s

Time for a cocaine break…. errrr i mean sawdust…. i mean…. WHAT

OW, OW OW FUCKOW

Router bit me.

Not gonna let that stop me though, taped it up good, will have a funny shaped finger for a while, keep working

Guess its not really mine until i put some blood into it

Putting a nice columnar look to the table legs with an fancy ogee bit

Tabletop looks spectacular with a table edging bit

Did a full roundover on the legs and the supports, needs some touching up at the joints, but will do that tomorrow, its dark

Oh, and never buy harbor freight sanding belts. I went through 5 in one day, they kept snapping

So, this thing sucks. Going to build something in that corner to take its place and also to put plants on and store pool supplies. I broadly know what I want to do, something triangular to fit in the corner, with graduated steps so that nothing is blocked out of the sun unless I want to

Was thinking of something with a 4×4 in the corners against the wall and 2×4s connecting them front and back so that I’d have a sort of slot to place the pool brush in when I’m not using it, as well as garden stakes

On at least one of the 4×4s it’s going to go up to 8ft or so so that I can hang the philodendron

Anyone have any inspiration for me?OMG

Instagram is an iPhone app (coming to Android) that lets you apply filters and share photos. It certainly has flaws, but I think it’s still pretty cool. I don’t have time to do real photo editing and I never have my camera on me, so this lets me entertain my photography itch in a more casual way. The social aspects of the app are neat — you get a photo feed of your friends and can check out the most popular images (though a lot of those are trash and/or stolen and/or taken with real cameras and edited on computers).

Everything I have on Instagram was taken and edited with iPhone apps (3GS and 4S, though there’s a few photos of LCD screens and screenshots of apps I’m making). I’ll be posting favorite photos I’ve taken here (chronologically), but you can see my profile and view all my Instagram photos at this link: http://statigr.am/jtown_
