Our ever so lovely ‘chatee’ today is Stephenie Zamora, who joined me on the call all the way from Hawaii. It was quite a contrast as I sat with many layers and my heating on and the gorgeous Stephenie was enjoying the benefits of a MUCH warmer climate. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous. My bodacious booty

I got it [and the rest of my gorgeous self] into shape by doing 3 little things.

1. I’m sweet enough – I got my blood sugar in check and ta da! all the nasty cravings disappeared. Just like that.
2. I became a fan of intermittent fasting. This is not for everyone but it worked for me. I still use it.
3. I jumped, hopped, skipped, danced, biked and ran. Getting active worked wonders for me and it is a habit I have kept.

I let go of 42lbs] and looked rather spiffing at my brother’s wedding

I may have been slightly derailed recently but I’m committed to my health & wellbeing and I continue to work toward my best body/health/fitness.

Web Space

I created this little corner of the interwebulator. I tweaked, honed and tinkered with my message/ my communication / what I put out in the world. It is a creative, continuous process & I LOVE it.

Inspiration

Danielle La Porte – enchanting, compassionate truth teller.

I purchased her Fire Starter Sessions and watched as the entrepreneurial seed was planted and slowly grew. I can’t praise Danielle highly enough, She is the Doyenne of soul searching by helping you light up your core desires. If you want to ignite a fire in your life, soul or business, she is your woman. The new minimalists – there are a few but Leo Babauta, Everett Bogue, Colin Wright and Tammy Strobel are the ones that inspired me to de-clutter, strip down, clean, tidy and simplify my life. I now live life with much less but enough to feel zen and happy.

Chris Guillebeau – I’m always amazed at the graciousness, kindness and cheeky spirit of this guy. He inspires me and the world to live an unconventional life. As someone that has railed against ‘normal’ all my life, he totally speaks to me.

Bindu Wiles – creative zen, naughty laugh, plaid mad.

This gorgeous soul got me back into writing again with her 21.5.800 project back in July. I was honoured to write a guest post for her Shed project and will be thrilled to host her here in Glasgow when she comes for a visit. She is gonna get her tartan freak on!

Marie Forleo – a sassy, sexy, sweary powerhouse of a gal, bringing Rich, Happy & Hot to women entreprenuers.

What can I say about this woman? I LOVE her sass, her warmth, her hip hop dancing, her savvy business & marketing advice and the fact that her generosity opened the door for me to attend her Rich, Happy & Hot Live event in NYC. I completed a module in psychology at Birkbeck College, London. My fav being cognitive behavioural therapy which makes total sense as I’m all about the talking and goal oriented strategy. I continue to read and learn on this subject. Perhaps more study for me in 2011?

I did the Fundamentals module at the Coaches Training Institute & learned a lot about myself and my coaching style.

I taught myself how to create a website, some basic html skillz [this is ongoing], media management online, wordpress, how to install & use plugins, widgets and all sorts of other web related thingymabobs. I’m doing a website design, html skills and dreamweaver night class in January. Yes Geekarella will go to the ball.

I QUIT THE 9-5 AND BECAME AN ENTREPRENEUR!!! Wowsa, I really did that? Go me!

I discovered and love the following websites for hot blogging, writing, marketing tips – Problogger, Copyblogger, Ittybiz, The Launch Coach, and  Chris Brogan

I kinda love Erica over at EricaBiz – she writes great, informative posts about blogging and building a profitable online business. So um, ya, I’ve done a lot this year. The overachiever in me is well proud.

But I couldn’t do it without the LOVE, support, belief, hand holding, shoulder to cry on, emergency loans and overall great positive spirit of all my family, friends [IRL and online] mentors and coaches.

And for that I have nothing but BIG LOVE for y’all. May I be equally blessed in the coming year.

I hate, hate, hate it when it snows.

Yeah, you heard me. Don’t let the pretty picture fool you.

This time of year, I find that quite apart from the fact that the impending ‘festive season’ will often send me into a ranty tailspin of grinchian proportions at the mere sight of a bit of tinsel or Christmas tune [just ask my pal Lauren] I also find myself descending into a pit of foul mouthed mutterings at the sight of the cocking snow.

Smug assed white shit.

All this from someone who chooses to live in Scotland. The irony is not lost on me.

Ok, so perhaps I don’t hate the pretty, precious snowflakes as they gently fall to earth or the crisp white blankets of the stuff covering the usually drab, grey cityscape but I sure as hell hate what it inevitably morphs into.

Slush.

Or MUCH worse. Compacted snow disguising the worst of all. Ice.

Snow looks all pretty and shit but it very sneakily lulls you into a false sense of security by masquerading that evil hazard that likes to lurk, like an arctic assassin, just under the surface.

The streets are transformed into a ‘not so much fun akshully’ pseudo ice rink with many a poor sod trying in vain to avoid doing a ‘Bambi on the ice’ impersonation and wondering just how they are going to make it to their car without being victim to an excruciating groin strain.

Snow is a bastard. It’s Baltic cousin, ICE, aint much better what with it’s single minded determination to fill every A&E from here to kingdom come with a hoard of broken people who only wanted a little bit of winter wonderland type frolicking or more importantly just wanted to get to their effin work.

Nah, sorry, I’m not giving snow a break here because it starts with snow and I’m sure that they are all in it together.

Ice, Jack Frost and his pal ‘zero Celsius’ are all just members of Snow’s nefarious gang.

And much like an evil gang leader, Snow is an utter bastard. You can’t trust it.
