Once upon a time, in the frosty kingdom of Greenland, there lived a princess named Sara. Unlike most princesses who were renowned for their grace, intelligence, and unwavering commitment to their duties, Princess Sara was known for her unparalleled laziness. She preferred the warmth of her plush, fur-lined bed to the icy winds outside her castle walls, and her days were spent in a perpetual state of leisure, lounging on soft pillows and sipping hot cocoa.

The kingdom of Greenland was a place of beauty, adorned with glistening snow-capped mountains, lush green valleys, and vibrant auroras that danced across the night sky. The people were hard-working and industrious, toiling in the frigid temperatures to maintain their homes and provide for their families. Yet, despite the bustling life outside, Princess Sara found more joy in napping than in attending royal obligations or engaging with her subjects.

Her father, King Magnus, was a kind-hearted ruler who adored his daughter. However, he worried about her future. “A princess must not only be beautiful but also wise and benevolent,” he often lamented to his advisors. “If she continues to sleep through her responsibilities, how will she ever lead our people?”

One day, the king decided that enough was enough. He summoned his court and devised a plan to encourage Princess Sara to become more engaged with her responsibilities. They decided to host a grand festival to celebrate the coming of spring, a time of renewal and joy. The festival would showcase the talents of the kingdom’s artisans, musicians, and performers. It was an event that demanded the princess’s involvement, and the king hoped it would ignite a spark of enthusiasm in her.

As news of the festival spread throughout the kingdom, the villagers began their preparations. They crafted colorful decorations, baked delicious treats, and practiced their performances. Yet, Princess Sara remained blissfully unaware, nestled in her bed, dreaming of fluffy clouds and endless fields of flowers.

On the eve of the festival, King Magnus approached his daughter’s chambers. He gently knocked on the door, and when there was no response, he opened it to find Sara sprawled out on her bed, a half-eaten chocolate croissant resting on her chest.

“Sara, my dear,” he said with a warm smile, “tomorrow is the festival! You must rise and partake in the festivities. It will be a wonderful opportunity for you to connect with the people of our kingdom.”

Sara cracked one eye open and groaned. “But, Father, why must I leave the comfort of my bed? The festival sounds exhausting. Can’t we simply celebrate in here?”

King Magnus chuckled softly, “You will miss out on the joy our people bring. They have worked hard to prepare for this day. You, as their princess, must lead by example.”

With a reluctant sigh, Sara rolled out of bed, her limbs heavy and her heart even heavier. “Fine, but only if I can wear my warmest slippers,” she mumbled, retreating to her wardrobe.

The following day, the sun rose over the kingdom, casting a golden hue on the snow. Princess Sara, clad in a beautiful gown paired with fluffy slippers, stepped out into the bustling courtyard. To her surprise, the air buzzed with excitement. Children laughed and played, artisans showcased their crafts, and musicians filled the air with enchanting melodies.

As she wandered through the festival, Sara found herself captivated by the vibrant colors and joyous spirit surrounding her. She admired the intricate tapestries woven by the villagers, tasted the freshly baked pastries that seemed to melt in her mouth, and listened to the captivating stories shared by the elders.

Slowly but surely, a flicker of curiosity ignited within her. She approached a group of children gathered around a storyteller, his voice weaving tales of bravery and adventure. As she listened, she felt a warmth spreading through her heart, an unfamiliar sensation that began to replace her usual apathy.

“Princess Sara!” one of the children exclaimed, noticing her presence. “Will you tell us a story too?”

Sara hesitated, her mind racing. “But I’ve never told a story before,” she replied, feeling a tinge of uncertainty.

“Please!” the children chimed in unison, their eyes wide with anticipation.

Taking a deep breath, Sara felt an unexpected surge of confidence. “Alright, gather ‘round!” she declared, her voice growing stronger. She began to weave a tale of a brave knight and a fierce dragon, drawing inspiration from the stories she had heard earlier. As she spoke, her imagination blossomed, and the children listened intently, captivated by her words.

The more she spoke, the more Sara realized she enjoyed sharing her creativity with others. The festival, which she had initially dreaded, transformed into a platform for her to connect with her people. Laughter filled the air, and for the first time, she felt a sense of purpose.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the festival, Princess Sara looked around at the smiling faces of her subjects. King Magnus watched from a distance, his heart swelling with pride. His daughter had discovered a joy she never knew existed—a joy found in the company of others.

From that day forward, Princess Sara transformed from the lazy princess into an active member of her kingdom. She embraced her role with vigor, participating in the affairs of the state and attending to the needs of her people. Each day became a new adventure, and her once-sedate life was filled with laughter, creativity, and purpose.

And so, in the kingdom of Greenland, Princess Sara became a beloved figure known not only for her beauty but also for her kindness and dedication to her people. The lazy princess had awakened, and a new era of joy and unity blossomed in the kingdom, proving that sometimes, all it takes is a little nudge to awaken the spirit within.

================================

Hey Chatgpt, I want to create a 3D animated kids Horror story. Can you give me some title ideas?

I 've chose the title "Whispers from the Dollhouse". Can you help me write an original and engaging script for the story? I plan to create a YouTube video based on this story, so please divide it into scenes. Also provide an image prompt, for each Scene. To ensure consistency in the character's profile throughout the story, please use the follow structure: "character name, age, gender, hairstyle, face description, outfit (top, bottom, footwear), background description and action. Give character a name and add each character's profile details.

🎬 [Video Title: “How to Make Kids Animated Movies with AI | ChatGPT, Leonardo AI, Kling, Premiere Pro”]

🎙️ [INTRO - Bright & Fun Background Music + Animated Logo]

Narrator (Voiceover):
Hey storytellers! ✨
Ever dreamed of making your own kids animated movie — filled with adorable characters, fun adventures, and a heartwarming message?

You don’t need a big team or fancy studio… Just ChatGPT, Leonardo AI, Kling AI, and Premiere Pro.

In this tutorial, I’ll guide you through the entire process — step by step — using free and powerful AI tools.

Let’s go from idea to animation — together! 🎬🌈

📖 [Step 1: Write Your Kids Story with ChatGPT]

Screen Recording: ChatGPT Interface open

Narrator:
Every great movie starts with a great story. And that’s where ChatGPT comes in.

Here’s a sample prompt to get you started:

📝 Prompt Example:
"Write a short 10-scene story for 4–7-year-old kids about a brave squirrel named Nibbles who teams up with a shy turtle to save their magical forest from a sudden drought. Make it adventurous, funny, and include a moral lesson."

💬 ChatGPT will give you:

A full storyline

Dialogue between characters

A scene-by-scene breakdown

🧠 Narrator Tip:
Ask ChatGPT to break down each scene like this:
"Give me scene 1: location, characters, dialogue, and actions."
This helps with visual planning later.

🦸‍♂️ [Step 2: Build Your Main Character in Leonardo AI]

Screen Recording: Leonardo.Ai UI — Text-to-Image Feature

Narrator:
Let’s meet your star: Nibbles the squirrel.

From the story we just made, ChatGPT describes Nibbles like this:

📝 Character Profile:

Name: Nibbles

Species: Squirrel

Traits: Brave, curious, energetic

Appearance: Fluffy red tail, big eyes, wears a tiny green cape

Personality: Always ready to help, loves acorns and adventure!

Now in Leonardo AI, we’re going to generate this character using a clear prompt.

🧠 Narrator Tip:
Use style keywords that match a child-friendly aesthetic like: "Cartoon, colorful, Pixar-style, 2D animation, cute, friendly."

🎨 Prompt Example for Leonardo:
"A cartoon-style brave red squirrel with a fluffy tail, big eyes, wearing a small green cape, standing in a magical forest. Pixar-style, kid-friendly, full body, bright colors."

✨ Once you generate a few good versions, choose the best one and save it — we’ll use this image to maintain consistency later.

🔁 [Maintaining Character Consistency in Leonardo AI]

Narrator:
Want your character to look the same across all scenes?

Use Leonardo’s image-to-image feature or fine-tuning.

🧠 Narrator Tip:
Upload your chosen image of Nibbles as a reference, and give prompts like:
"Same red squirrel in green cape, now running with a turtle in a desert scene, cartoon style."

This way, Nibbles looks consistent across every frame of your movie.

🎞️ [Step 3: Animate Your Scenes with Kling AI]

Screen Recording: Kling AI workspace showing animation generation

Narrator:
Now that you have your characters and backgrounds — let’s animate!

Upload your AI-generated scenes into Kling AI.
You can animate your still images by describing the action.

🎬 Prompt Example:
"Make the squirrel run happily across the forest, waving at a turtle."

Kling AI will apply motion to your scene, making it look like a real animation.

🧠 Narrator Tip:
Keep actions simple and clean for younger audiences. One scene = one clear motion.

Export your animated scenes in HD and save them in order.

🎤 [Step 4: Edit, Add Voice, and Music in Premiere Pro]

Screen Recording: Adobe Premiere Pro Timeline with clips

Narrator:
It’s showtime! Open Premiere Pro and import your animated clips.

Arrange scenes, add transitions, and line up your audio.

For voiceovers:

You can record your own

Or use AI voices (like ElevenLabs, TTSMaker, or Narakeet)

🎶 Add free kids’ music and sound effects from the YouTube Audio Library or Pixabay Sounds.

🧠 Narrator Tip:
Add subtle sound effects like birds, rustling leaves, and character giggles to bring life to the story.

IPTV (Internet Protocol television)

IPTV (Internet Protocol television) is a service that provides television programming and other video content using the TCP/IP protocol suite as opposed to traditional cable or satellite signals.

An IPTV service, typically distributed by a service provider, delivers live TV programs or on-demand video content. An IPTV system may be used to provide video content over a private network in an enterprise, although such implementations are far less common than subscriber-based models due to complexity and scaling issues.

How does IPTV work?
IPTV content is often delivered over a managed or dedicated network. Compared to the public internet, a private network gives network operators more control over the video traffic and, by extension, the ability to ensure quality of service (QoS), uptime and reliability.

In traditional television delivery, all programming is broadcast simultaneously. The available program signals flow downstream, and the viewer selects a program by changing the channel.

An IPTV service, by contrast, sends only one program at a time. Content remains on the service provider's network, and only the program the customer selects is sent to the residence. When a viewer changes the channel, a new stream is transmitted from the provider's server directly to the viewer. Like cable TV, IPTV requires a set-top box or other customer-premises device.

IPTV primarily uses IP multicasting with Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) for live television broadcasts and Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) for on-demand programs. Other common protocols include Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP).

IPTV system
How IPTV works
Types of IPTV
Because IPTV uses a packet-based delivery system, it can be bundled with other IP-based services, such as voice over IP (VoIP) and high-speed internet.

The use of IP also enables providers to support various other services and applications, such as video on demand, in-program messaging and timeshifting, a broad term for services that allow viewers to consume content other ways besides live broadcasts (e.g., digital recording, on-demand video and the ability to rewind or restart a live program already in progress).

IPTV competes with another delivery model known as Internet TV, which refers to television content distributed through a website.

How to Watch Super Bowl 2017 Online for Free

The entire 2016-2017 NFL season has come down to this one game: The New England Patriots will square off against the Atlanta Falcons in Houston for Super Bowl LI on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 6:30 p.m. E.T. There are plenty of ways to live stream all the action for free online – commercials and Lady Gaga's half-time show, too! – even without cable.

If you have a TV...

It won't be difficult for cord-cutters to catch the big game if they have a digital antenna – and honestly, that's probably the best way to watch any major live event if you don't have cable. If you still don't have a digital antenna, you can snag one for a relative bargain. We recommend The Mohu Leaf, but if you want other options, check out our recommendation or Wirecutter's.

Sorry, an antenna won't help if you don't have a TV. There's some good news, though: You can stream this year's Super Bowl on FOX Sports Go from your laptop, phone, or other device. The bad news: You'll need a cable subscription.

If you're a Verizon customer, you may want to check out the NFL Mobile app. It'll let you watch the Super Bowl on your phone for free. It's a really cool perk that you could have been using all season. Verizon won't even charge you data if you're not streaming on WiFi. The app won't let you Cast or AirPlay the stream on a TV, so keep that in mind if you're watching with others.

One last option: You can watch the Super Bowl on NFL Game Pass, but you won't be able to watch live. The game will be available on the service after midnight.

or some reason, accomplishing this is not quite as simple as going the other way (probably because cable companies aren't ready to let go). Nevertheless, we found a few easy ways to stream live TV to your PC.
Websites...Just Websites

Hulu Plus, Netflix, and other subscription streaming services are perhaps the easiest way to get TV on your PC--but not live TV. Such services feature only previously aired episodes of TV shows (Netflix has only already-aired, already-on-DVD episodes). Although that certainly is nice--and the lack of commercials is always welcome--some live-TV events aren't quite as attractive after the fact.

Fortunately, you can still feed live TV to your PC in a supersimple way that requires no downloads, software, or hardware-tinkering: Just try some streaming Websites. Of course, these sites can be volatile--often they're put up and taken down faster than Japanese convenience stores--and your channel selection is usually limited.
Streaming Sports

Sports are one of the biggest reasons for streaming live TV on your computer. Sporting events are really exciting only when you watch them as they happen, and Hulu and Netflix aren't inclined toward uploading every NCAA Division 3 women's golf match just to satisfy your love of the links.

Luckily, programming providers realize that day-old sporting events do not make for good Internet media, and some of them offer easy ways to stream sports to your PC.

ESPN3 streaming sports
ESPN, the old standby for sports programming, has a live streaming broadband channel called ESPN3. The channel streams live sporting events such as college football games, UEFA Champions League soccer, The Masters, and the Australian Open. Unfortunately, ESPN3 is available only to customers of select broadband Internet companies. The good news is that if you're using ESPN3 from a college campus or a military base located in the United States, access is free.

NCAA March Madness basketball
If you're a college basketball fan, listen up: Every year since 2006, CBS and the NCAA have offered March Madness On Demand, live coverage of the March Madness basketball games. The coverage doesn't start until March, of course; but when it does begin, the streams will be located on the NCAA site.

As for other large sporting events (such as the Winter Olympics and the FIFA World Cup), usually you can find live streaming from major networks, such as NBC, BBC Sport, and CBC Sports.
Other Programming

Not fond of football (American or otherwise)? Don't worry; you can find plenty of Websites for watching live non-sports TV.

For newshounds, CNN Live features round-the-clock live streaming (though in the middle of the night it's just round-the-clock live weather forecasting). Fox News has a live stream that you can view in a browser window or in the downloadable Fox News Live Desktop Player. You can also try the ABC News Now stream.

Ustream.tv
Ustream.tv is a lifecasting and live streaming Website. That means you'll get your fair share of "lifecasters" (people who enjoy having you watch them on camera 24/7) as well as a large number of live events (notable past events include the 2008 presidential election). Channels to check out include CBS Breaking News, PBS News Hour, and Oscars Live.

This week, a less sophisticated form of communication — toilet stall graffiti — got him thinking.

Not really anywhere until you’ve been nowhere, read the scrawl, which Evans captured in a picture and tweeted.

“It immediately made me think of Canada,” Evans says in a phone interview from the shores of Lake Superior. “This is going to sound wrong, but Canada is a lot of nowhere; it’s a lot of being in the middle of nowhere.

“There are people who have been to London and Paris and Hong Kong and L.A.,” he adds. “But they really haven’t travelled because cities are becoming more and more similar, especially in this global age.”

“But if you’ve been to nowhere, if you’ve landed with a seaplane in the middle of nowhere in northern Canada, there’s a sense of awe and appreciation for the Earth. That’s how I felt when I went to Antarctica. For me it was really life-changing.”

Evans lives to get off the beaten path. Many individuals are going to avidly follow and watch Cricket World Cup 2011 live online. The experience is as great as watching it on television. Sometimes we simply cannot catch the live matches of the Cricket World Cup on television, because of circumstances we cannot control. Let us discuss some reasons why your computer is handy for watching Cricket World Cup 2011 live matches on the internet.

1. If you are frequently on the move and you have a laptop, there are many public places that allow you the chance to connect to the internet freely, without the need for passwords, such as certain coffee shops and diners. These public places and more, will give you the chance to tune in to Cricket World Cup live matches, as long as you have good connectivity to the internet with your laptop.

2. In some cases, you may not be able to view the games live on your TV because none of the channels have gotten the rights to show the games. Not having the channels to watch the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 leaves you with the alternative of tuning into the games online.

3. Living with this extended family that I have, and not a TV for each individual. Relatives tend to hog the TV a lot to watch whatever they want. To ensure that you would not have this situation when the games are going on, consider watching the Cricket World Cup 2011 live online.

4. If you have to subscribe to a cable service of some sort to watch the games live, you should know that TV to PC software that allows you to watch Cricket World Cup online is far cheaper than any cable service, and there are no recurring fees at all.

5. Some of us have to be on a computer for several hours at a time while at work. TV to PC software will ensure that you can still work on your computer, while focusing on the Cricket World Cup 2011 live online. It may be risky if you are under a lot of supervision, but if not, catching every moment of the Cricket World Cup is well worth it.

High Defination TV

Most people have trouble deciding whether to choose a satellite or cable subscription. And this is quite understandable as we are bombarded everyday with marketing gimmicks that tell us to buy or sign up for something that may, in the end, not help in maximizing our HDTV viewing.

To avoid this frustration, the very first thing to assess would be your family’s entertainment needs. Do you prefer watching only the programming that the national networks NBC and ABC broadcast? Does your family often get pay-per-view shows and record them to add to the family’s wide collection of titles on demand? Or is your family a big fan of sports?

irstly, cable and satellite service providers offer varying line up of TV programming. If it’s the national networks you often watch, then cable would do. If you often purchase pay-per-view titles, then cable is the way to go. The downside to this however is that you won’t be able to record the program while it is being broadcast as opposed to the titles on demand you purchase from the satellite provider. This is because once you sign up for a subscription from a satellite service provider they will provide you with a Digital Video Recorder (DVR), a smart machine that is capable of recording even if you pause or rewind the show during live broadcast. If your family follows local sports teams closely, then cable would be the best bet. While satellite service providers offer local and national sports channels, they are typically bundled up in a separate subscription. This essentially means that you will have to pay for the special subscription to get feeds for local and national sports events. However, if your family is a big fan of the National Football League, then going for the satellite subscription should be considered. This is especially true if you expect to watch out-of-market competitions of the NFL. Since a particular satellite service provider has the exclusive rights to air the NFL games, then subscribing to their service is the only way.

Another significant difference is the budget. Cable service providers give out promotional offers of Internet connection and digital phone subscription bundled with the main cable TV subscription which could save you a lot. And just imagine how convenient it would be to receive only one copy of the bill for all three services. Satellite service providers do not have these offers also they provide promos such as free subscription to a specific channel for three months for first time customers.

The other consideration would be the reliability. Since satellite feeds are received through the dish, there would be times when signal wouldn’t be that good. This is especially noticeable during heavy downpour of rain or snow.

American TV Shows

hree's Company

Come and knock on our door. Remember Jack Janet and Chrissy who lived together in apartment 201? This TV show that ran from 1977 to 1984 was actually a remake of the British sitcom Man About the House and became very popular with TV audience in America. This sitcom can still be enjoyed on DVDs and re-runs. The sitcom featured several running gags like Chrissy slamming the door on someone, and the landlord Mr. Roper cracking a joke about Jack’s supposed homosexuality. Three's a Company still remains to be one of the most favorite sitcoms and brings a smile to your face when you hear Come and knock on our door…

Cheers

One of the most popular sitcoms in America that ran into 11 successful seasons and was known for its catchy jingle Where Everybody Knows Your Name. Almost all of the episodes happened in the front room of a bar and created some legendary characters like Sam, Carla, Rebecca, Norm, Dianne, and off course the most popular –Dr. Frasier. Cheers had several running gags, which included Norm arriving in the bar greeted by a loud Norm! Years of laughter and jokes that can still be enjoyed on re-runs and even DVDS, Well Cheers to that!

Frasier

Perhaps the longest running and most successful sitcom that ran into ten seasons from 1993 to 2004 that revolved around Dr. Frasier Crane, the character from the popular sitcom Cheers. Kelsey Grammer who played the lead role for twenty years straight won several awards. The sitcom Frasier won 37 Emmy awards during its 11 year run. In this sitcom, Dr. Frasier Crane returned his hometown of Seattle, Washington, after a broken marriage in Boston. The show portrayed Frasier’s struggle to live a bachelor’s life in presence of his father, an ex-police officer Martin Crane, A frequent visitor to the Frasier apartment is his younger brother Niles, who is also a psychiatrist.

Seinfeld

The epitome of Nothing-Well that is the only way to describe this hit sitcom which was one of the masterpieces. Seinfeld created a genre for it self. It was a comedy about absurdly routine situations faced by four central characters - Jerry Seinfeld(The Comedian), Elaine Benes (The intellectual yet eccentric ex-girlfriend), Cosmo Kramer( The wacky neighbor) and off course George Costanza( The self-loathing, bald friend). The comedy that was weaved into the normal situations, which anyone could identify with, was simply marvelous. Another USP of this sitcom was that its central characters did not portray the conventional ‘goody-goody’ archetypes, the characters had shades of gray. Seinfeld had the right blend of different styles of comedy - a dash of slapstick, a pinch of satire and loads of wisecracks.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Another masterpiece which although, labeled as a Seinfeld clone by many created a massive following for itself and gave us some of the most loved characters on Television. Six friends sitting at the Central Park café in New York captured the hearts of millions of TV audience. Be it the Rachael-Ross on and off romance, Monica’s obsession about cleanliness, Chandler’s twisted sense of humor, Phoebe’s weird habits or Joey’s silly yet cute antics, Friends was a rage! The title song of the show by the Rembrandts I'll be there for you.. was a major hit as well. Friends ran into ten seasons and left people craving for more.

The Simpsons

The Simpsons was the most popular animated American sitcom ever. It was a burlesque spoof on the conventional American family, which always conveyed some social message without sounding didactic. The Simpsons were portrayed as the classic American dysfunctional family complete with Homer (The irresponsible man of the family), Marge (The ultra-sensitive American wife) Lisa and Bart (The new age American school kids) and Maggie (The baby). The release of the Simpsons movie in 2007, speaks volumes about the popularity of this sitcom.
<link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' You do not have to spend a bunch of money to cut your heating costs. Below you will find nine tips on how to save money on energy bills without breaking the bank. Each tip should cost from nothing to very little. Follow these ideas that all of us should have thought of a decade ago, and say good-bye to shocking heating bills.

1. Bundle up! Running around with shorts and a tank top in the middle of winter just doesn’t make much sense. Winter is winter because it is cold, s act like it even if you’re just sitting around the house. Put on a sweater or sweatshirt, wear socks and fuzzy slippers. Place a soft, comfy blanket on the couch to cuddle up in while watching TV, reading or chatting with friends. Put throw rugs on hardwood and tile floors to eliminate the shock of the ice cold surfaces. It doesn’t cost anything to wear warmer clothes inside and by doing so you can keep the temperature inside the house a few degrees cooler and save big.

2. Not all doors are used in the winter, nor are the windows, so plastic up the windows and doors that are going to go unused. There are window kits for sale for about $5 per window. These can help to eliminate drafts to keep in the heat! Can’t afford the kits or plastic sheeting? Hang blankets to help insulate! If you are creative enough, you can hang it to look shabby chic!

3. Turn the heat down at night and when no one is hom. This doesn’t mean turn the heat to 40 degrees, but turning it down to 60 overnight or while you’re away can make a big difference. Think about it; why keep it 70 degrees when you’re either sleeping or out of the house for more than 12 hours a day? You can adjust the thermostat manually for free, but if you want to spend a few bucks a programmable thermostat is a great investment.

4. After baking cookies or making dinner in the oven, leave the door open a crack. The Blackberry is pretty much an exclusive office tool, since it’s core value prop is about email. The iPhone, or for that matter Android’s, core value is internet access for social networking, YouTube viewing, etc. So employees get one since they want one for personal usage. And since they have that one, and don’t want to also carry around the authorized office mobility tool, they want to make sure it’s connected to the office.

Many people are even willing to buy their desired mobility device, but just want the IT department to make sure it connects. In fact, in Dialogic, I probably had the first employee on my team in Dialogic who used an iPhone - he had bought it with his own money and simply wanted it connected to the network, and rejected the Dialogic supplied Blackberry. It was not simple, but it happened. And I’m sure this is not unique.

My point is that if you’re an IT manager, and you see the onslaught of cool devices out there, and if you haven’t figured it out already, you have lost control…and if you haven’t yet, it might just start when you return from your holidays since a good percentage of your employees may have gotten one of these things 3 days ago. smiley-laughing

England Beat Australia

England have one hand on the Ashes after Graeme Swann bowled them to victory with a five-wicket haul in Adelaide, where neither rain nor the lower order could save Australia on the fifth morning. The significance of the win cannot be underestimated, as it gives England a 1-0 advantage heading in to the third Test in Perth, which starts in a week and a half.

The triumph came when Swann turned a ball through the gate to bowl Peter Siddle, completing his five-for and confirming the margin of an innings and 71 runs. It was a devastating morning for Australia, who began the day hopeful that they could survive for a draw with six wickets in hand, but it took England less than 90 minutes to skittle the remaining Australians.

Last time England took a series lead in Australia, it was 1986-87, and they did not give it away. And as the holders of the urn, Andrew Strauss and his men will retain the Ashes unless Australia can win at least two of the remaining three Tests, a monumental task given that they have now gone five Tests without tasting victory, stretching back to the series against Pakistan in England.

There will be changes for both teams at the WACA, with England forced to look to Chris Tremlett or Tim Bresnan, due to a series-ending abdominal injury to Stuart Broad. Australia will have to find a new opener as Simon Katich's Achilles tendon problem has ruled him out of the rest of the series, while Xavier Doherty and Marcus North will also face a nervous wait to see if they keep their places.

North could have saved his position by salvaging a draw for Australia on the final day, but he was one of the wickets to fall cheaply as England wrapped up the contest before lunch. The visitors knew a thunderstorm was expected later in the afternoon, and after they made the initial breakthrough by getting rid of the established Michael Hussey for 52, they tightened the noose on Australia's lower order.

Hussey and North resumed at 4 for 238 after the loss of Michael Clarke from the last ball of play on Monday, and it took only six overs for England to get a sniff of victory. Hussey was dropped by Matt Prior off the bowling of Swann but didn't survive a second chance when he top-edged a pull off Steven Finn and was comfortably taken at midwicket by James Anderson.

National Geographic Channel

Grand Prize

Photograph by Brittany Brothers

“Mist-ified”

Ten-day expedition to the Galápagos Islands aboard National Geographic Endeavor or Islander (courtesy of National Geographic Expeditions) and a $250 certificate from Canson Infinity media.

Brittany Brothers photographed herself at Iguazú Falls on the border of Brazil and Argentina. Flat-screen televisions come in a variety of sizes. According to MSN's Techs & Gadgets, plasma TVs generally range in size between 42 inches and 63 inches, and LCD TVs range between 15 inches and 65 inches. LCD TVs have a longer viewing life than plasma TVs; consider that LCD TVs have a viewing life of around 60,000 hours, while plasma TVs have a viewing life of between 30,000 and 60,000 hours. Moreover, LCDs can be used for television viewing and as a computer monitor. Plasma TVs are known for having problems with images remaining on the screen after a period of time, a phenomenon known as burn-in, but they are easier to view when sitting at an angle.
#
2

Consider the contrast ratios. According to Shop.com, contrast ratios are numbers that "represent the brightest and darkest bits of picture a television can display at the same time." Contrast ratios contribute to picture sharpness. For instance, LCD TV contrast ratios normally start at 600:1, while plasma TVs normally start at 1000:1. Thus, plasma TVs tend to have a better contrast ratio then LCD TVs.
#
3

Consider the resolutions. Resolution is a number that measures pixels and helps to determine how clear the picture on your flat-screen television will look. According to Crutchfield, generally, the more pixels that a flat-screen television has, the higher its resolution. For example, a resolution of 1280 x 720 is higher than a resolution of 640 x 480.
#
4

Compare the available video inputs. Does your flat-screen television come with composite video, S-Video or HDMI? If you intend to use Blu Ray, DVD or VCR players with your flat-screen television, you should consider which video inputs are available with your television.

Read more: How to Buy a Flat Screen Television | eHow.com http://www.ehow.com/how_4899284_buy-flat-screen-television.html#ixzz16gksltvF

Cricketing News

he 26-year-old from Pretoria smashed 23 boundaries and six sixes during his 618-minute stay at the crease to guide South Africa, surprisingly put into bat on Saturday, to 584/9 declared before restricting Pakistan to 59/1 at close.

Pakistan -- needing another 326 to avoid the follow-on -- lost opener Mohammad Hafeez, leg-before to paceman Dale Steyn for two in the first over of the innings, recovered with Taufiq Umer 16 not out and Azhar Ali unbeaten on 34 when bad light stopped play seven overs before time.

The second day belonged to De Villiers who punished the bowlers throughout his 418-ball knock, beating the highest Test score by a South African batsman held by captain Graeme Smith with 277, made against England at Birmingham in 2003.

De Villiers reached the milestone in the second over after tea, smashing Mohammad Hafeez for his sixth six before taking a single off Umar Gul to better the record, raising his bat towards Smith, who declared the innings.

He added a South African record of 107 for the last wicket with Morne Morkel, who remained unbeaten on 35, erasing the 81-year old record of 103 set by Tuppy Smith and Sandy Bell against England at Leeds.

De Villiers dedicated his record-breaking knock to his captain.

"I dedicate this innings to my captain (Smith) who wanted me to break this record, and it is wonderful to have this in my name," said De Villiers. "When I reached 250 I thought it's declaration time but Smith sent twelfth man to tell me about the 277 record."
