A Ohmmapper survey can be done much faster than a DC electrical resistivity survey, but it has limitations on where you can use it. OhmMapper has limited penetration depth (in general 30 feet?), especially with electrically conductive soils.
Statistics: Posted by xyz — Thu Feb 09, 2012 9:26 pm

We need to delineate the bedrock/overlaying soil interface to track fluid migration paths for a site. Usually we hire geophysical consulting companies to conduct resistivity and seismic surveys. The services are expensive and usually we have to choose where to do the survey lines for the best results. Is ohmmapper a better choice for this kind of surveys? Is the survey speed faster and its results are comparable to those of resistivity and seismic surveys?
Statistics: Posted by tgolooe — Thu Feb 09, 2012 2:39 pm

The concept is straight forward from its name. It's a mathematical transformation to transform a hyperbola to a straight line. Combined with Radon Transform, which is used to detect straight lines in images, Hyperbola Flattening Transform can be used in the GPR (or seismic reflection) data to auto-detect (pattern recognition) hyperbola-causing targets such as landmines.
Statistics: Posted by nsm — Wed Feb 08, 2012 5:41 pm
