Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI):
The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is the most commonly used vegetation index for observing greenery globally. Other commonly used vegetation indices are Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI), Perpendicular Vegetation Index (PVI), Ratio Vegetation Index (RVI).

.......................................................................................................
Normalize Difference Water Index (NDWI) is used for the water bodies analysis. The index uses Green and Near infra-red bands of remote sensing images. The NDWI can enhance water information efficiently in most cases.

Ternary plots or ternary diagrams are triangular representations of the compositions of objects that can be expressed by mixtures of three components. In geology they are widely used to show the composition of rocks and minerals, in function of the mineral content, proportion of end-members, or even chemical composition. Many rock classification schemes are also based on ternary plots. Beyond geology, their use is very common also in metallurgy, chemistry, and other sciences. Ternary plots are graphical representations mixtures of any three components, typically expresses as % and whose sum must be 100%. Each apex represent a specific component.

Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is used to quantify vegetation greenness and is useful in understanding vegetation density and assessing changes in plant health. NDVI is calculated as a ratio between the red (R) and near infrared (NIR) values in traditional fashion.
NDVI is calculated in accordance with the following generalized formula: NDVI=(NIR-RED)/(NIR+RED)

Where NIR - reflection in the near-infrared spectrum and RED - reflection in the red range of the spectrum.

NDVI Formula for NDVI=(Band 5-Band 4)/(Band 5+Band 4)
