This weekend Planet Booty stripped down a little Kells for a SF Theater Fest preview lounge set at Martuni’s piano bar. Not to be missed. Josh is on fire! (Thanks to the guy who tipped $5 at 2:18.)

Planet Booty is playing the Bohemian Carnival at CellSpace hosted by local “klown-fi” heroes Gooferman and Vau De Vire Society along with a whole gaggle of performers including aerialists, burlesque dancers, DJs and more. Doors at 9. We go on around 11.

In these turbulent times one thing is for sure, hard work pays off. Teaming up with L.A.’s The Dylan Trees and Paris’ dance heavy The Penelopes, Planet Booty asks you to come and perspire for the betterment of our society next Wednesday, August 4th @ the Rickshaw Stop. Sweat for America as we help improve the world one booty at a time.

Planet Booty front man and Germart’s own Dylan Charles Germick has been quietly working away this past month in a new collaborative project with San Francisco jazz band leader Mike Irwin Johnson (8 Legged Monster). Johnson’s newly formed “Rayband” took SF back to the era of Ray Charles last June with a 14 piece ensemble including some of the Bay’s finest jazz musicians; not to mention a knockout set of female singers as the Raelettes! When tapped to fill a vacancy at lead singer, Dylan jumped at the chance to concentrate on his soulful tendencies and immerse himself in one of American music’s most cherished performers. The power of Ray Charles cannot be denied and neither can the quality of entertainment this night will be sure to bring. The only thing missing is the dancing feet this music was intended to produce! Come be part of an extraordinary performance this Friday July 23rd @ Coda, SF, 10PM (get tickets).

After a super charged performance at CELLspace last Friday Germart is carrying Planet Booty’s momentum into two new exciting and classy venues. First, this Saturday, June 12th Planet Booty will be opening for SF’s HOTT disco/funk band Sugar and Gold @ the Uptown in Oakland! We are the first of three bands so get there when doors open at 9PM! Expect a full serving of getting down throughout the evening. Second, The Dark Horse Cabaret is hosting a night of exotic and erotic San Francisco debauchery @ Cafe du Nord with us headlining the event! Tickets can be purchased at Cafe du Nord’s website for a few bucks cheaper before hand. The event starts at 8PM Thursday June 24th. Come see us hump around on the floor with the ETHEL MERMAN EXPERIENCE and flaming booby tassels in one of San Fransisco’s finest night clubs!
