His point was “Why do we give up on praying for people?”

Surely if we are bible believing Christians we should believe what the bible says right? If so lets look at these scriptures.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing

Matthew 18:19
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

So why do we give up when we pray for people? Why do we stop praying when someone does not get healed? Why do we not remember these scriptures about people not getting healed automatically?

Mark 5:25-34, Mark 9: 14-32 and I could go on and on but the point I’m trying to make is that if you believe in prayer just because it may not happen straight away does not mean it wont happen.

In the last few weeks I have lived one of my personal dreams that I had since I was about 12-13 years old. My dream was to go to a Phantom dinner where a whole heap of phans get together and just talk Phantom and basically geek out.

However sometimes the dream just does not go according to plan. I one of the biggest phans got stuck down the back of the building stuck with kids who where not even phans but just the kids who where dragged along by their parents.

Now I will be honest, I did not handle it well, I was not impressed with the organiser and I let it be known.

This was a good lesson for me as it good me thinking that through life we will be disappointed at times and so how will we handle it?

I was going through my RSS Reader today and two posts came to my attention. First was a confession from Gary Lamb of the Revolution church in the USA and the second a follow up post by Mark Edwards a friend in my home city of Perth, Australia.

Basically Gary stuffed up with his female assistant and I would like to take this time to write down some thoughts that hopefully will help someone including me.

I will NOT focus on countability, do not meet women alone etc. As we all ’should’ know about these….

Question One) Why Do Male Pastors need Female Assistants?

We used to call assistants disciples, Jesus had no assistants but rather men who learnt and did his ‘organising’ jobs (food, travel etc) and the time spending time with him, 11 of the disciples became world shakers.

Surely there would be many men in big churches who could still get paid (to provide for family etc) but could assist and be discipled. I know myself I would love to do this and im sure I would learn a lot.

Questions Two) Why Do We Worship the Man instead of the God behind them?

We all love our Pop Star Christians but Jesus did not come down to serve as a man to provide a cult following with groupies, tattoo’s and to flog off over priced products.

Everyone was shocked and angry with Mike Guglielmucci’s fall from grace, but the fact is when he failed, people thought that Christianity had failed them. Their salvation was not in Jesus but rather Mike.

I also hate when Pastors rock up late to service because they like to make an impact when entering the building and then they leave straight after preaching.

Question Three) Why do we Leave our Wounded Behind?

Various Armies around the world are famous for “Never Leaving a Man Behind” and I think this is where us as Christians are really screwed up.

I myself like said before am  no perfect man and have failed and when I failed I was amazed at how I was left behind. If I was in the army or another country corp, I would have men dodging bullets of the enemy to help me to safety.

So why does this not happen in our Christian army?

Now why I am not saying God wants us to be complainers and sooks but can we complain? Does God listen to us when we complain? When we are sick and complaining in bed, does he listen? When we complain about our job, does he care? When we got that bill that we cannot pay and we complain does God hear?

Balance and who we Complain to..

Now I am not perfect or even sure if this is 110% correct but the way I personally see it is that Yes We can Complain to God.

However the key hear is that we complain to God. When we complain, who do we complain too? Do we just sit and sook or do we get on our knees and talk to God about our complaints?

Ok one last point is the word BALANCE. Yes God listens to us but do we just complain and yak on about how bad our lives are OR do we bring balance to complaining. Do we worship God? Give him thanks or do we just complain?

The perfect example to me is Elisha in 1 Kings 19:9-18 where he sooked BIG time to God straight after killing off 450 false prophets as soon as his situation changed slightly.

However the question is what are we holding onto that God wants us to give to him? What is holding you back? What are you/ we holding onto that limits the power of God in our lives and to impact our friends/ family and love ones?

Does what we are holding onto take more importance than God? Does it take over our time we should be spending with God? Does it limit us sharing the news of Jesus’ love at work? On the sports field? On Facebook/ Twitter?

Is it a secret sin? Porn? Idolotry? Hatred? Bitterness? Anger? No matter how big or small you may think it is, if it holds us back and limiting what God can do in our lives, maybe its time we let it go. Leave it at the cross and allow Jesus to take its place.

Recently I showed a young man a passage of scripture what we call the Great Commission. This is was Jesus’ last request on what He wanted us Christians/ Jesus followers to do, this is why the Holy Spirit came down.

Ok enough of a history lesson, lets get into the meat of what I want to talk about.

Our church Jubilee is slowly understanding the whole Healing debate and that Jesus CAN and WANTS to heal anyone. However in teaching, discussing the healing to church what surprises me is that people just do not believe it is possible.

So Where Did Our Faith Go?

Whether you like it, agree with or not BUT faith has a great deal with healing. Please note its not the only reason why people are not healed like some think and preach. However its obvious to say that if we do not have enough faith, we will most likely not see anyone be healed.

I can list countless reasons like false teaching, snake oil selling evangelists plus much more BUT in looking at various countries, its obvious that only certain “civilised” 1st/ 2nd world countries do not have faith.

While WotUSeek is still in its first development stage the following that has occurred has been quite amazing. We now average around 80-100 individual users a day and that number is increasing.

Exciting Feature One: Country Search

This has been in play since the start and for the last few months a few different developers have had their hand at making this available. Thanks goes to Gerald & Benno, you guys are legends!!

So now you can now do family friendly searches using the six country options in the JavaScript pop up box in the top right corner.

Exciting Feature Two: Non Family Word Blocker

While the inbuilt filter is great its not perfect and a few users asked if it was possible to not be able to search for obvious sexual and other non Family Friendly words (like porn). Of course we said, after all its your search engine.

After research and much patience, we have now introduced the first step of this. Try typing in the word ‘porn’ and you will notice that the “Submit” button becomes unclickable. Our next edition to this feature is a pop up box telling you why you cannot search for that specific word.

New WotUSeek.com Design

A new design is next the team at WotUSeek.com is looking at doing. While the current design functions, we are not happy until its perfect and lets face it, we can improve a lot design wise.

Church is like Ice Cream. I like Spearmint, what do You Like?

You are properly asking what ice cream has to do with anything to do with church but I use the ice cream example to point that church is like ice cream and that different churches have different flavours and some people prefer another flavour of church than you.

No offense but if your of the elder generation you may prefer an older style church where you sing hymns instead of Hillsong or Planet Shakers worship songs. Does not mean its wrong or that your not saved, No its just that your flavour is different.

Some people need a stricter militant style church to keep them on track while others would suffer under it and prefer a more casual church. Other people prefer churches that feature a similar culture/ country/ region, while others like churches that are small or some like large churches.

While I believe that every church should be teaching the same Jesus from the same bible I am not against you going to a church that is your flavour.

My beliefs on healing

I think its only fair that I share my personal revelations and beliefs that I have received through God and study.

I believe in healing, I believe that as God healed in Jesus’s time seeing lame people walk, deaf hear, sick cured and people possessed to be in their right mind, I believe that God can do the same today! So why do we not see it?

Who killed healing? The Church? Us? Or the Devil?

I believe there are a few reasons why we do not see healing today (feel free to add your own in the comments section below).

1. Suffering is Gods will - The church has spread false doctrine that suffering is Gods divine gift for us. What a load of rubbish, no where in the bible is this mentioned.
2. Supernatural Ability of the Saints - How can I heal? I am just a normal person and not in the same league as Saint Paul, Saint Luke etc. They are normal people like us: Mosses was a coward, Peter lied and had anger issues, Paul (Saul) was a killer and a religious fanatic and Mary was a hooker!
3. Doctrine - Did healing and miracles stop in the 3rd century?
4. Lack of Faith - This is rather obvious but due to several lies and miss teachings we just do not see healing the way Jesus saw it.
5. Doctor is Easier & Safer - It can be safer to trust your illness towards a studied doctor who you can see and touch than someone who you cant. However did you ever wonder why they call it a “Practice”?
6. Miss diagnose - Just like a doctor can miss diagnose an illness, Pastors can also pray for the wrong thing. Instead of praying for the fruit, pray at the root cause of the sickness.
7. Church not focusing on Healing - I know this may seem strange but a lot of churches are not pushing to see God heal. If they do not understand or see it happen, we wont contend for it.

With these lies it is no wonder that we do not see any healing in todays church.

Can I be as bold and say that Jesus actually did more healing the sick than any other part of his Christian ministry? He healed more than Jesus feed the hungry, He healed more than saving people from their sin and He always healed when He taught. Healing should be something that churches contend for at every opportunity.

I have shared my healing on cancer before but hears some more healing testimonies that our church (that averages 70 people) has seen in a short period of time. So why cant we all see healings in our churches, especially these mega churches? No Excuses.

• Hodgkins cancer (not me).
• Leg grown to relieve hip pain.
• Eye sight vision doubled.
• Body aches gone after forgiving someone.
• Healing from Lactose Tolerance.
• Dent in Leg become smaller.

If what I write has you rolling your eyes, I would suggest people look at the Commission that Jesus gave us in Mark 16:15-18:

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
