I’m not sure what everyone is doing today but I know the Tamaqua has over 250lbs of corned beef cooked, sliced, and ready to go!

The Eaton Ct tree is still down!

Maybe this will get repaired just as quick as the Frank Ct Flooding or Eaton Ct flooding..

Do you want to learn how to sail? Do you want to volunteer to be a captain?

Deep Creek Yacht Club and it’s partners, National Park Service, Rockaway Point Yacht Club, Miramar Yacht Club and Sheepshead Bay Yacht Club teach sailing on Thursday nights during the summer time. We also introduce groups of children to sailing daily in the summer from 9:00AM – 12:00PM. These two programs can be a very rewarding experience for the children, adults and you. If you are interested contact the National Park Service office (Jennifer) at (718) 338-3799 or Harold Hohne for more information.

Basic and advanced sailing programs will be available at Floyd Bennett Field. The courses will consist of three Thursday evening sessions from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A course book covering the basics of sailing will be given to each participant. The courses will include a brief classroom introduction in the Ryan Visitor Center and hands on sailing in American 18′ sail boats, located across from the Ryan Center at Gateway Marina. Parking is available. For more information call Jennifer at (718) 338-3799. Three day sessions are scheduled in the summer of 2010 as follows:

Session A. 6-25, 7-8, 7-15
Session B. 7-22, 7-29, 8-5
Session C. 8-12, 8-19, 8-26

The NPS charges a $50.00 fee for each three day session to cover material cost and boat upkeep.(Note: Last year the sessions were closed out). Sign up early by registering in person at the ranger station located at the entrance gate to Floyd Bennett Field, open seven days/week between 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. There is also a program to introduce youngsters in groups of up to 25 to sailing. The summer schedule consists of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday trips. The session starts at 9:00 AM at the Gateway Marina located opposite the Aviator Sports Center in Floyd Bennett field. There is no fee for this activity. State Senator Martin J. Golden honored local leaders in conjunction with the celebration of Irish Heritage Month on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Knights of Columbus on Nostrand Avenue.

The honorees included:

The criminal animals took advantage of the storm smashing 4 shelters on Gerritsen Avenue.

As you can see they used bricks and lawn decorations to smash the shelters.

Everyone who took the bus this morning in the rain thanks you for getting wet and cold.

Other than the Damage that Hit Gerritsen Beach, and other than Stewart Street which had 4 trees down when I was there, then a few more in the morning, the actual Marine Park was DEVASTATED by the storm.

There are somewhere around 50 trees down in and around Marine Park
