Our frequent visitors may have noticed that its been pretty quiet around here lately.
but now we are back and tiny changes to the face of the pages is underway just to make things more user friendly and enhance your viewing experience. that "put your banner here" thing at the top of the page is also going to be removed very soon as its been there much too long. And we are now listed in most of the top search engines :). being as we deal in the darker side of computing, viruses spyware scams etc. it would be a good idea for us to have information on the scams that have been cheating us all here on blogger, things like splogs and nextsplog and provide links to other blogs/websites that may provide more indepth information on these subjects and being as this site is hosted on blogger, what better then to protect our neighbours with a weath of advice and information. thats all for now. bye

Basic protection tips against internet threats

Malious internet threats plague everyone these days, and they are unstoppable. Each day of the week more and more threats are detected and ofcourse as the internet gets more advanced so do the type of threats we face. Hackers, spam, spyware, adware, viruses to name but a few are all waiting to steal your personal information, credit/debit card numbers etc, and phishing is also becoming more advanced by the day. if your pc is running slower than usual its more than likely you have picked up some form of virus or spyware. prevention is always the best practice but still most people think that one antispyware program is ok, but thats not always the case being as some pick up on infections that others don't.
Here are our recommendations:

Atleast 3 upto Antispyware programs

If your pc continues to run slowly try a registry cleaner and junkfile cleaner as lots of junk ends up on your system, such as when you add and remove programs, temperary files, registry keys etc, all build up and slow your pc down.
Plus don't forget to defrag your drives frequently, as files and directories are created, deleted and moved around your computer pieces of them end up in different memory locations on your harddrives, thus it takes your pc alot longer to find the pieces and open the file, this affects the pc as a whole in time.

This program is a dedicated spyware scanner with few other options as far as realtime protection and such go. having said that ADWareAlert concentrates on scanning only, and does an great job of identifying spyware, unwanted tracking cookies, and even the odd junk file. its available here

For those of you who don't know, Spybot Search and Destroy is a totally free, easy to use, antispyware program, and a hell of alot more. even if you have 20 other antispyware programs on your PC, you need this, it comes with an Immunizer apart from the spy scanner/remover. and thats just normal mode. if your brave enough to unleash the Advanced mode you get some of the most powerful tools a computer user can have including... NoAdware does exactly what the name implies, its refeshing small, easy to use interface comes with online protection agents as standard such as fully configurable ActiveX shield, IE Hijack Shields, IE Home Page Shield and Real Time Protection to name but afew.
