Why is Leonardo DiCaprio unmarried?

Most Hollywood stars marry once or twice, if not thrice. However, Leonardo DiCaprio is a known player. What makes him different from his famous colleagues in Hollywood? Reading his hand was the nearest I could get to for an answer.

The dominant mount on Leonardo’s hand is the Moon Mount, and that imbues the owner with a certain amount of self centeredness, restlessness, and

Many people with a dominant Moon mount do marry however, even if they do not make the best partners; often remaining kind of 'autonomous'. Very successful people on the other hand are unlikely to succumb to societal pressures when it comes to their personal life.

There are other reasons why Leonardo could be a commitment-phobe. Leo's Headline and fingers show that he is a practical man, but his Heartline shows that he tends to be sensual and sexual rather than romantic and idealistic when it comes to his loved one. Such people usually do not have a huge problem moving on in relationships.

This does not mean that Leonardo DiCaprio is mentally cold, because even though his Venus Mount is not heavily developed, it is normal. His Heartline also does not suggest coldness, although manipulative behavior is evident (shown elsewhere on the hand). Mars would give him sufficient fire of temperament, although this is different from sexual passion.

The development of the Upper Moon Mount is only positive, revealing extraordinary ability. His pragmatism, common sense and willpower (seen from the Headline, fingertips and thumb), all adds to the success quotient, as does his manipulative ability. The sensitiveness which tends to makes him hyper aware of his surroundings and the vivid imagination would be an asset in the profession he is in.

Philanthropy is distinctly shown on his hand (mainly from from the thumb setting). This points to a superior human being, despite his known fickleness when it comes to love. And perhaps one day Leonardo’s pragmatism could make him commit. He would be happy with someone as autonomous as him, someone not demanding, and someone who will give him plenty of creative space.

Pakistan's Imran Khan

Imran Khan is known to the world as a cricketer, a philanthropist, politician and is a celebrity of sorts. But who really is Imran Khan, the person?

The overall shape of Imran’s hand is good. It’s large, well formed, with a good length of fingers (most of them square tipped), a broad palm, and a long thumb which is very slightly low-set. What this means that Imran is a good person, broad-thinking and pragmatic, and not too religious. He is also strong-willed, even stubborn.

However, it’s clear from Headline that when it comes to organizational ability and intellect, he is
average, although he is very shrewd. His Headline also shows that his greatest weakness is that he is changeable. He does not appear to be possess that consistent thinking that is so important in a leader. People who knew him a decade ago would feel he has changed as would people who meet him a decade from now. Long-term thinking is what he would find difficult.

He has the reputation of being a straight forward politician, but his hand does not bear it out. He is not entirely what he seems, and he is a fairly deep person, and would not reveal his deepest feelings to others. In fact, Yousouf Raza Gillani's hand shows him to be more straightforward person that Imran Khan. This refers to straightforwardness of personality, a personality which is similar inside and outside, and does not refer to being honest or decent, which Imran Khan probably is.

Imran enjoys fame and name, and that is probably why he is interested in politics. And might I add, there is nothing wrong with type of motivation. Unless people enjoy being in the public eye, they don't turn to politics. When there isn't a particular ideal, then this is the motivation.

His thumb, and Heartline shows some humanitarianism if one compares him to the average person. The fingers however reveal some element of cynicism which is again not a very good quality for a politician to possess. He would find it difficult to summon a genuine and deep passion for an ideal.

The long ring fingers of Sharad and Ajit Pawar

It is common to see similar personality characteristics in the hands of parents and children, and at times even between grand-children, and nephews and nieces. This is reflected on the hand.

It was interesting to note similarities in the hands of Sharad Pawar and his nephew Ajit Pawar (elder brother’s son). This similarity lies in the formation of their Jupiter and Apollo fingers (index and ring fingers). In the hands of both these men, the Apollo or ring finger is longer than their Jupiter or index finger.

A ring finger longer than the index finger predisposes the owner to be more competitive and risk-taking than the average person, not to mention more assertive. Entrepreneurial qualities are also shown. In fact, scientific studies have established a link between personality and this digit ratio, but hand readers knew of this link a long long time ago. What they also know is that long ring fingers belong to people who like to be in the limelight. Such people invariably seek leadership positions and wealth.

It is important to check whether the ring finger is actually longer, or just looks longer because it is high-set. If it is not really longer than the index finger, the significance is watered down. And at times the ring finger looks longer than the index finger because the index finger itself is shorter than normal. This can also alter the meaning.

In the case of Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar, not only does the Jupiter or index finger appear to be shorter in actual length than the ring finger, the index finger is also significantly low-set, particularly on Sharad Pawar’s hand. Short index fingers which are also low-set are not the hallmark of a good leader. An inner pride of personality is not a characteristic they possess, the type of pride which can prevent them from doing something they shouldn't, particularly when no one is looking.

A comparison of the hands of Pope Francis and Pope Benedict XVI

The personality or Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio or Pope Francis as revealed by his hands is significantly different from that of the previous pope (Pope Benedict XVI). The main differences oddly enough lie in the realm of their belief system. While Pope Benedict's hands show that he was an uncompromising believer, rigid in his beliefs, Pope Francis’s hands show him to be more
pragmatic in his beliefs. True, there is some idealism, but it can be tailored to fit the situation. Pope Francis believes in taking into account the world around him, and interestingly, he will see how things affect him before taking any decision. He will tend to see things from his own point of view.

This is different from Pope Benedict XVI who saw issues in a broader perspective. Both men are intense, but the previous Pope has a more intense personality. Pope Francis's hands show far less belief in superstition, unlike the previous pope.

Pope Francis's hands are slightly long, dark pink in color, with developed mounts and closely held fingers and thumb, with either square or very slightly conical tips. Who is the better leader? Pope Francis's hands show him to be more compromising, but his hands also show a considerable amount of secretiveness, and this is not a trust building personality characteristic. He is blunt, although cautious, and his lack of diplomacy can affect his image and/or relationships.

A positive characteristic of Pope Francis is that he is a warm person with love to give to his people, and the warmth in his personality will translate into considerable networking and sincere attempts to reach out to people. There is however, a desire for renown.

Pope Benedict XVI's hands do not show warmth towards people, but his hands show unselfishness, and in principle great compassion for humanity.

Sylvester Stallone's hand reading

Sylvester Stallone may well be a talented guy, and neither manipulative nor selfish, but his hands show that he could be a difficult person to live with. The short thick fingers, the highly developed mounts, the deep lines, and the long supple thumb by themselves tell a story of a person who likes to live his life to the fullest. A person with high energy levels who is passionate, emotionally volatile and impulsive. Stallone's tendency to be unpredictable is accentuated as he thinks and acts quickly. Stallone's strong and stable Headline is the reason. Common sense, rationalism and direction is what is shown. Sylvester Stallone's Headline shows his ability to focus and be productive, not destructive. The Headline shows goal oriented behavior. Despite Stallone's volatility, his head managed to take control. He managed to succeed even though his hand shows poor business sense.

I suspect that the kind of movies Stallone chose, violent action movies, would have enabled him to act out his inner demons; perhaps it was therapeutic. Such roles could have given him that all important outlet that enabled him to lead a normal and successful life. However, there is always a danger in such cases of fantasy and reality overlapping, but stable Stallone managed to keep his reel life from impinging on his real life, despite his volatility.

Oscar Pistorius's hand reading

Few believe paralympian Oscar Pistorius’s claim that he shot his girl-friend Reeva by mistake; certainly not the police. What is the truth? Did Oscar Pistorius deliberately kill his girl-friend Reeva Steenkamp?

The hand can guide us to some extent. It may not be able to tell if a person has actually committed a crime, but it can tell us whether a person is capable of it. The hand reveals the inner workings of the mind, and it is also possible to surmise from the hand whether a person is likely to commit a crime of passion or a cold-blooded, premeditated one.

Pistorius's hand has
well developed mounts, particularly that of Jupiter, Lower Mars, Moon and Venus. The Lifeline is strong, and the palm broad. Taken together, these are not indications of a timid or gentle soul. In fact, a developed mounts (particularly those near the base of the hand and the Mars mounts) show a passionate, even excitable person who can be quite moody. There is an element of crudeness present in such personalities, but how this rough edge is acted out depends on the personality trait being expressed. A lot people with such hands lead normal lives without getting into trouble.

Pistorius’s Heartline is relatively stronger than his Headline, and there is that slightly low-set supple thumb. Emotionalism and impulsiveness are some of the qualities revealed by this.

All of the signs mentioned above together point to a personality who is basically good-hearted, generous, and deeply loving. There is also compassion and a love for humanity.

However, taken together the signs also mean unpredictability because impulse, emotion, ambition and passion (all present in above average amounts) can become a volatile combination. It can result in aggressive, emotional, and competitive behavior if the situation warrants it. At the same time Pistorius' fingers also show manipulative behavior.

A good, strong thumb (like Pistorius has) shows will power but that works only if the person wants to exert his will power. This type of thumb gives immense determination, and therefore if he is bent on doing something, he will do it. If he wants to control himself, he can. Whether a person uses his will for the benefit of others or for himself depends a great deal on the rest of the hand. While Pistorius's hand does not show selfishness, his actions also hinge on his personal value system and the society he comes from.

Hand Reading of Angela Merkel Chancellor of Germany

Angela Merkel's hand is not an extraordinary one, but she is the Chancellor of Germany, now in her second term. Her success is not dramatically imprinted on her hand. You don't get to see the big broad hand with at least an average length of fingers or even the low set, large thumb or the long slim Mercury finger; signs you see on many successful people. Instead, what you see is
a slightly small hand with fingers on the shorter side, some of them bent.

Women tend to have smaller hands (even after taking into account their body size) and this points to a more emotional nature. Finally however it is the actual lines and the shape and length thumb which determine whether a person’s heart or head dominates. It is always best to have a balance of both as it shows clear thinking.

In Angela’s Merkel’s case her long, well shaped thumb shows strong will power, the ability to control others, and determination. She can be a little brusque however; quite direct. She is a no-nonsense type of person and perhaps that is why she is called the "Iron Lady" by some, and has been compared to Margaret Thatcher, Britain's ex-Prime Minister. However Merkel is not really an "Iron Lady", and quite different from her namesake – Margaret Thatcher.

Besides the strong thumb, Thatcher’s Jupiter finger is significantly high-set and combined with the heavily developed Lower and Upper Mars, the strong Heartline, and the gap between her Head and Heart lines, it shows a person who is bold, arrogant, aggressive, and strongly resistant to persuasion. These qualities would make Margaret Thatcher a formidable personality. Angela Merkel does not possess most of these signs, although some amount aggression is present (less).

Angela Merkel
Although Merkel's hand shows less of a cerebral mind-set, her Head and Heart lines are better balanced. This points to someone with her heart in the right place, more open to others’ opinions, yet a person very much in control; a person with a strong will and leadership qualities. Sometimes this is exactly what one needs to be successful. A high dose of common-sense, the ability to not be swayed by emotion, being humble enough to listen to others, and the will to implement.

Merkel’s shorter fingers (as compared to Thatcher’s) need not be a weakness. They show a quick, action-oriented nature. One is not sure why Angela Merkel has been called the "Iron Lady" because she isn’t one. She is simply a determined leader and a clear thinker.

Merkel’s hand shows some negative qualities - impatience, shrewdness and manipulation. Thatcher’s hand shows manipulative tendencies too, but not as pronouncedly.

Couple Compatibility in Hand Reading

Synastry in Astrology is the art of matching two horoscopes for the purpose of marriage. It is a popular method for those who believe in Astrology. A reader asked me whether there was a similar method in palmistry/hand reading.

There isn’t an official name for matching couples through hand-reading, but it can be used for matching couples, even if it is a more complex method. The advantage of palmistry is that hand and fingerprint reading goes beyond superficial personality characteristics and in-depth into the psyche of a person, bringing out the person's hidden
motivations and individuality, his/her driving force and inner self, and revealing the issues he/she struggles with. Hand Reading recognises that no two people in the whole world are exactly alike (no two hands are exactly alike and nor are two sets of fingerprints but to my knowledge birth charts are similar for those born at the same time in the same place or even a minute or so apart). Hand reading recognizes a person’s uniqueness, and also goes in depth into a person’s inner self.

While sexist attitudes (the reader asked whether this can be seen from the hand) per se cannot be determined from the hand, qualities like narrow-mindedness, bigotry, egoism, and selfishness can be. A particular attitude towards something (in this case sexism) is usually a result of a personality trait like some of the above or it can be due to a more complex underlying reason.

The complexity of a human being makes it very difficult to decide whether two people are suitable (or not) for one another. It is not about making calculations.

Couple traits which make for compatibility/incompatibility have been the result of several psychology surveys, and some personality traits (like extroversion/introversion, just to give one example) if at similar levels are supposed to pave the way for a smoother relationship. To my mind, it is impossible to predict whether a couple will be happy and the durability of their relationship because marriage is all about working hard to make it work. Human will triumphs all. That is why I am wary of astrological charts which pre-determine compatibility.

Hand reading presents to the couple their strengths and weaknesses and the areas where there can be a personality clash. What is important is that they are made aware of what the their potential partner is all about and then make a conscious decision as to whether they can adjust. Finally it is up to the couple to decide whether they can make it work and even if they flounder along the way, determination, motivation and love, can help them make it through.

Ben Affleck's Hand Reading

Ben Affleck has a beautifully shaped hand, with long slim fingers, some of them waisted, a very broad palm, one of the largest I have seen. The mounts are not too heavily developed and the mounts which are well developed are Venus and the Mount of Moon, specifically the Upper part of the Moon Mount. The thumb is also waisted, a little low-set and longer than normal. All of this points to a finely balanced, generous, unselfish, compassionate, and warm person with strength of character and

The fingers show Affleck’s attention to detail and discipline. It is not surprising that the man is directing films.

Ben Affleck’s Headline is not as good as his Heartline. The Headline appears uneven, and either starts late or is joined for a bit. This shows that he was cautious and/or too sheltered or dependent in the earlier part of his life, something which he has still not got over completely. This is compounded by the fact that his Jupiter finger is shorter than normal on both hands although on the right active hand it is not so low set. This shows the self-esteem problems which he has tried to overcome. While there is no doubt that in terms of self development he is progressing, he would still have issues. The uneven Headline would make it harder for him to resolve inner conflicts because it shows unsteadiness of ideas. Right now he is going through one of the most materialistic phases in his life, but his thinking is likely to change.

His Heartline shows that he is a person who can become a hundred percent emotionally engaged with his work and in relationships, and it is probably due to this that he often makes decisions based on his heart rather than his head. His heart tends to think better and more steadily than his head does! Even then there is some evidence of repression of his inner feelings shown in the setting of his Heartline.

In relationships, Ben Affleck’s sensitiveness can at times be too much to handle and also he may try too hard to please at times. It is not just emotional sensitiveness but an overall sensitivity to surroundings. All this makes him more vulnerable to being hurt and he may not always express his deepest needs.

Asaram Bapu Hand Reading

Asaramji Bapu’s strongly etched lines, well developed mounts and the long thumb with its long first phalange speaks of a strong and willful personality. A person whose strength of personality is augmented by the qualities shown by the long Mercury finger and its developed mount - alertness, tact, intuition and shrewdness. He would also possess excellent

As it was not possible for me to confirm whether he writes with his right or left hand I have used my own judgment to come to the conclusion that he is right-handed. He must be because his right hand is far better than the left hand and this shows that he is a self-made man who managed to develop the qualities he believed necessary to fulfill his goals in life. His Headline is remarkably improved, revealing increased concentration and focus (probably due to meditation), and the Lifeline sweeps across the Mount of Venus in the right hand increasing the width of the mount. The Heartline, deep and strong, ends on the Mount of Jupiter in both the hands.

All this shows that not only did Bapuji develop his mental qualities, he reached out to people in a big way as he grew older. His Heartline was always quite good, and the thumb shows compassion and an humanitarian approach in addition.

Bapuji has a short parallel line just above the Heartline, which can be considered a part of the Heartline which is broken off. If it is indeed a broken off Heartline (one cannot be a hundred percent sure unless one sees the actual hand), then according to Johnny Fincham this means that the person often shows a different face to the public. It is a kind of “professional front” that they have, and inner feelings are often disconnected from the outward facade.

One should not jump to the conclusion that this means that the inner personality is a negative one. All it means is that there is some amount of suppression of one's personal needs and deepest feelings. It’s hard to know such people’s deep and inner feelings and at times it could mean that they are themselves struggling to know themselves. Yes, this can mean some element of confusion. This reading is confirmed by the wide fork on the Headline. The branch rising upwards can mean illogical thinking if emotions are aroused.

To sum up, from the shape of Ashramji Bapu’s hands and fingers one can say that he has an idealistic, imaginative, and philosophical bent of mind. There is a liking for the comforts of life. What makes him a believable guru is that his hands show that he is quite straightforward, not manipulative, not cynical, and does not crave attention.

How much better is Mohamed Morsi as compared to Hosni Mubarak?

A look at Mohamed Morsi’s hand can give a clue to the developments in Egypt. Morsi has a large fleshy palm, with some fingers bent, the index and little fingers conic and the thumb thick. The Headline is weak and uneven. These signs show a person with a lot of energy but the lines unable to carry forward this energy productively. As a result such people tend to be excitable, emotional, unpredictable, and

changeable. Not good qualities in a leader. Unreasonableness is shown, as is idealism, and these two qualities are not a good combination. Plus, the Jupiter mount and finger shows a desire for power, and manipulative tendencies. The manipulativeness was not present in his past self as seen from the left passive hand, but has developed, and that too quite well in the right active hand. The Headline too is much better in the left passive hand, more stable and more even. Hosni Mubarak has a better hand in one sense because of his strong clear Headline which shows stability of ideas. But the thick, slightly high-set thumb held close to the palm, the developed lower moon and fleshy hand tell a different story. They tell us of someone who is stronger, but is also quite headstrong, very unreasonable, and also more selfish. The hand is of a person who is secretive and as his head dominates his heart, he can be ruthless if he deems it necessary. His hand also shows materialism to the end of this days. Mohamed Morsi’s hand shows a greater humanitarian approach, and a materialism which keeps decreasing as he grows older. However, his headline shows confused thinking and is not strong enough to enable him to carry out his ideas. His hand does not show him to be a bad man but one cannot help but wonder whether this hand belongs to someone who is mentally strong enough or rational enough to take on the mantle of Egypt’s leader.

Deepak Chopra's hand reading

An emotional person who takes major decisions based on his emotions and idealistic beliefs. He is a person for whom the heart would count above everything else.

However, the strong thumb and Saturn finger which show seriousness, a sense of purpose, leadership qualities, as well as control and will power, show that he is able to channelize the emotions and ideas effectively. In other words, he would be able to use the heart qualities in a productive way. In addition, the fingers and phalanges show Chopra to be a quick thinker and doer. And a superior planning ability is shown.

Dr. Chopra's Mercury finger, though lowset, is longer than average, and also conic-tipped, and the Mount of Moon quite prominent, and this is where his creative and expressive ability is shown. The hand reading of Jaggi Vasudev (Sadhguru)

Jaggi Vasudev's (Sadhguru) strong thumb, deep Heartline, the wide and highly developed Venus mount, the broad palm and fingers on the shorter side all indicate a type of personality which can go hand in hand with that of a spiritual leader. It indicates a person who is warm, with a love for all humanity. It shows the qualities of loyalty, generosity, and complete engagement and faith in what he is doing, a broad outlook, and understanding of larger issues.

His weaknesses are his impulsiveness and lack of
diplomacy seen from his thumb. Minor faults one would reckon. He is shrewd, but his manipulative abilities are limited, if they exist at all. Overall his hand shows that he is quite straightforward. Where money is concerned, the shape of his fingers (tips, phalanges, thickness) clearly show that he has financial sense and business ability which is far above average. The contradiction arises because his Headline indicates an introspective and non-materialistic attitude. The shape of the Headline and developed Moon mount suggests that he was always like this (introspective) but this attitude appears to take over his personality completely by approximately the age of forty, mid-life.

The fingers indicate an action-oriented person who enjoys the comforts of life without going to excesses.

What is most interesting is that the shape of Sadhguru's hands and fingers shows that he is a pragmatic personality who does not set store by blind faith, religious rituals or superstition. Not being a manipulative person, it's extremely unlikely that he will pretend that he is taken in by "religious" tamasha. This makes him a trustworthy person even though he is not a typical ascetic.

Can Palmistry predict behavior?

Whether it is possible to predict future events by reading hands was discussed earlier, and this post addresses another question. Whether a person’s actions and behaviour can be predicted by the hand. As personality traits and even one’s inner psychology are clearly marked on the hand surely the hand should be able to predict behaviour?

Actually no. Reality is too complex for such a clear connection, and while this may be obvious to some, there are some who believe that hand reading or palmistry is a supernatural art which mysteriously predicts behaviour.

Will a person whose hand shows greed, steal? Will a highly sexed person be
promiscuous? The fact is that personality traits like greed or even dishonesty do not necessarily mean that the person will make money by dubious methods.

Coincidentally, in this morning Mumbai Mirror there was an interview with the neuro-scientist James Callen asking his opinion on the psychology of the perpetrator of the recent horrific sexual assault on a foreign national in Mumbai. What he said was that “many of us have the potential to be violent” but “the interaction between your genes and your early life experiences determines whether you will falter.”

Let’s take subject A who has inherited an aggressive, impulsive and even violent nature. Callen’s reasoning has two implications when it comes to hand reading. One, that traits like violence and aggression can lie dormant (because of a good, stable upbringing), and these will be seen only on the passive hand. If these traits are not evident in the active hand, it means that aggression lurks deep under the surface and will only surface in an extremely stressful situation, for example if the person's life is threatened or someone he/she loves is in danger. Ofcourse, the person’s judgment and intelligence also come into play when it comes to what he/she perceives as a life threatening situation. Thus there is no sure way of knowing how exactly the person will behave even though we know that somewhere deep within his/her subconscious there is a violent streak.

The second scenario is that the person who has inherited the violent nature remains violent due to his/her upbringing. This aggression will therefore be evident on the active hand and lurks not far below the surface. How often this flares up depends on the person’s inherent judgment, intelligence, frustration tolerance, and also what is considered acceptable in society. A person with a “violent” streak may therefore never commit murder or any violent act although many tend to channel their aggression towards the weak, like a spouse, children, or those lower in the social hierarchy. Personality characteristics like will-power (ability to control a violent impulse), the level of excitability, impulsiveness and ego all come into play. The nature of the violence exhibited depends on the type of person ... is it do with rape, assault, abuse, or murder? Violence can be emotional and verbal. Physically weak people resort more often to emotional abuse.

The reason I wrote this post is because I get comments and emails asking me to predict behaviour. This is not possible from the hand. Hand-reading cannot predict behaviour. It can show inherent tendencies, developed personality traits, strengths and weaknesses, which is also very important because none of us know ourselves as well as we think. Knowing the self is the first step towards happiness and fulfillment, the first step towards leading an aware and disciplined life.

Mitt Romney or Barack Obama?

Will Barack Obama continue in office or will Mitt Romney become America's next President ? Not an easy question to answer considering that palmar lines change. The greater the time lag between the “predicted” event and the current time, the greater the chances of the lines (and with it the future) changing.

When it comes to the impending U.S. presidential election on November 6th, the question is whether the campaign strategy of the two presidential candidates will change dramatically in the run-up to the US presidential election. Even if it does not, even if it runs the way it is planned, what if some scandalous event is brought out of the closet and this revelation ruins a candidate’s fortunes? If all this
does not happen and everything remains the same, the lines will remain the same and it becomes possible to write about the good and indifferent periods in the life of these two men. Noting the good periods can give a clue as to the outcome of the election. However, before I go on to mention the good and indifferent periods on the hands of these two men, here is something about Mitt Romney.

Romney, though very intelligent, is not an intellectual like Barack Obama. However, his hand shows him to be more action-oriented than Obama (from the shape of his fingers and the palm) and also with a broader approach to important issues. Barack Obama’s hands show him to be more compromising, while Romney is more idealistic, more manipulative and more stubborn. (shape of Jupiter finger and thumb). Romney’s hands and mounts and Heartline show him to be a warmer person, and more compassionate than Obama, but on the other hand he can be meaner and also more cynical (finger shapes). If Obama’s policies are of a socialist nature then his ideas are rooted in intellectualism or based on cold political strategy, not on any strong feelings for the under-privileged.

The good and indifferent periods in the life of Mitt Romney and Barack Obama
When it comes to life trends of these two men, I have used the Fate/Saturn lines and the Apollo/Sun lines in combination, and co-related their interpretation with the state and shape of the Lifeline and Headline.

Mitt Romney’s Fateline, starting deeply inside the Lifeline shows restricted early circumstances. Although his career and finances are shown to be good overall, there is uncertainly almost throughout. The early to mid-thirties were specially good for him, but by forty (approximately) a rather indifferent period (in his own estimation) commenced. The career shows improvement before the age of fifty, but there seems to be less energy expended in the fifties, and a concentrated focus on the career seems to be lacking. Could it be a health issue or does he feel that something is missing in his life?

Now comes the tricky part. Is the line going straight up to Romney's Jupiter Mount a continuation of his Heartline or is it the Fateline? Due to the poor quality of the photographs it is difficult to be sure. In my estimation it is the Fateline although I could be wrong. If it is the Fateline and if it going up unbroken to the Mount of Jupiter, then it means that as Mitt Romney enters his mid-fifties, sixties, and more, he will come closer to the fulfillment of his ambition and this will be ambition of a leadership nature. This could well be the presidency because this is what Romney wants, but it could be any type of leadership position which he will be satisfied with.

Barack Obama's career/finances strengthen in the early thirties, but his hand shows that by the age of 49/50 he is unhappy with his career and oddly, this happens at a time when is the President of the United States of America. The personal dissatisfaction is not alleviated anytime soon, certainly not at the end of this year or next year.

What is interesting is that Obama's hand tells us that becoming the president made him unhappy with his career and his life! This is also the time when he starts to become more introspective. He starts to question himself inwardly as to whether this is what he really wants and whether he is doing the right thing. This is not the right attitude for anyone who wants to win.

As Obama grows older, into his mid-fifties, this tendency towards introspection grows (could mean that he will write more books), and he also becomes more and more introverted.

Dr. A.P.J. Kalam’s hand reading

Dr. A.P.J. Kalam’s scientific, intellectual, academic, and philosophic bent of mind is evident not just from his Headline, but also from his slim, knotted, waisted fingers, developed first phalanges and the Upper Moon. In combination these signs show that Dr. Kalam is an intellectual, and a person with an investigative mind-set, superior analytical ability, and great organization of thought.

Thinking comes naturally to these people, almost akin to breathing. They will usually plan and think about everything. However,
if one had to encapsulate Dr. Kalam in a few words, it would be idealistic and principled to a fault. Check out a photo of his hand here. The tapering fingers of Jupiter, the developed Jupiter mount, as well as other conic shaped fingers and long first phalanges tell us this.

In addition to idealism, he is a person prone to impressionability and could get carried away by great and noble ideas. He is something of a dreamer, a person who wants a world to be “ideal,” but he is not weak by any means. In fact his thumb, though impressionable, shows him to be very strong-willed. His hand and thumb shows a complete lack of materialism, a deep generosity and compassion for the under-privileged.

People like Dr. Kalam are not be easy to get along with because they tend to stick to abstract principles come hell or high water. Nothing can move them, certainly not the lure of the lucre. In addition Dr. Kalam’s strong Upper Mars mount, thumb and deeply etched Headline shows him to be strong-headed, willful and quite determined. The more people try and persuade him, the more likely is he to stick to his guns!

After seeing his hand I quite believe that he was ready to appoint Sonia Gandhi as the Prime Minister in 2004 (however much he hated the idea) if she had staked claim because as he has said he would not do anything to destroy the sanctity of the constitution. If Dr. Kalam did not reveal this important fact at a time when there was a strong rumour that he had actually stopped Sonia from becoming P.M. the explanation lies in his hands. Dr. Kalam's hands showm him to be a very secretive, closed, shrewd and even a manipulative person! This is evident in the way he holds his thumb and also in the shape of his Jupiter and Mercury fingers. In addition, being also a deep planner and thinker, he quite likely had sound reasons for the secrecy.

We may or may not believe that Sonia Gandhi wanted to be P.M (she proposed Dr. Manmohan Singh’s name when it came to the crunch), and Dr. Kalam said he was surprised at this turn of events because he had expected that she would stake the claim herself. I have my doubts about this. Dr. Kalam is the kind of person who would be opposed to Sonia becoming the P.M as strongly as he would be opposed to fiddling around with the Indian Constitution, and therefore being extremely shrewd, it is almost certain that he would have hinted (either to her directly or through one of her cronies) that he could possibly reject her candidature. Dr. Kalam’s hands show him to be quite strong-headed, not the kind of person anyone can bend.

The hand reading of Julia Roberts

After the mid-fifties he is likely to become more introspective and materialism is likely to take a back seat.

His hand shows extraordinary compassion, kindness, broad thinking, sympathy and humanitarianism, and this is seen by the shape of his hand, the setting of his thumb and also his heartline.

Rajnikanth's Handreading

Rajnikant is not your typical narcissistic film star and his hands bear it out quite starkly. While the lowset Jupiter finger is a main indicator, there are other signs which emphasize Rajni’s simplicity, shyness, lack of vanity, and disinterest in living in a showy lifestyle. Notice the short and fairly slim lower phalanges, two conic tips, three straight fingers and the joint life and headlines.

On the downside, he is likely to have had
self esteem issues at a young age, more so before the age of thirty. In fact his hand shows acute introversion in childhood and such people are not just sensitive, they are late bloomers. Most of what they would have in common would be at a superficial level, if one goes by their hands. This could lead to serious issues in a long-term relationship. It's said that "opposites attract" but they
do not necessarily make ideal long-term partners.

The main features of Kristen’s hands are her slim tapering fingers with square tips, two low-set fingers of Mercury and Jupiter, the excellent mount of Venus, the slightly long hand and broad palm. Quite different from her ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson’s thicker and shorter fingers, the thicker palm, shorter heartline and a longer headline. It was a little surprising to see how different Kristen Stewart is from Robert Pattinson.

Robert's hand reveals that while he is the more unselfish and steady one, he is also the more difficult one. More moody, more emotional and idealistic, less social, more reserved, more cautious, more sensitive, less secure, and less open. However, while Robert’s hand shows a broad understanding of issues (maturity, perspective), Kristen’s hand shows a narrower world-view and the penchant for seeing issues from her own point of view, leading to a certain amount of self-centredness.

Kristen's hands however show that she is a warmer, more loving, more talkative and the more extroverted of the two. She is the kind who would love very deeply and wear it on her sleeve. This is probably one of the reasons why they were attracted to each other. One partner complementing the other. She would be a contrast to Robert's more reserved nature, a nature which is in control of feelings, more head than heart.

A stark difference lies in their sexuality. Robert’s hands show a more mental type of sexuality and Kristen’s the physical type. This can lead to sexual incompatibility in the long run because for one person (Robert) sex is closely entwined with love. Without feelings of comfort, love and the right ambiance, such people are not comfortable with love-making. Kristen’s hands on the other hand show stronger physical passions and it would be possible for someone like her to be involved with someone in a purely physical way. Such people (naturally) have to exert greater control over themselves than the average person.

Those who are physically unfaithful to their partners while claiming that they still love them are not necessarily lying. It is possible for them to separate sex and love. A strong physical sexuality needs to come hand in hand with strong self-control and a moral code otherwise relationships can go awry.

Unfortunately for Kristen, her headline does not show any great self-control, and in fact shows some inconsistency, although she has a good thumb. Her hand also shows some deficiency of self-esteem, and perhaps this had a part to play in her infidelity. Did she feel in her heart of hearts that she did not deserve to be loved by a loyal and sensitive Robert?

As for Robert Pattinson, it would be difficult for him to forgive Kristen. No, this is not because he is mean, but because for him everything has to be right when it comes to a love relationship. His not so healthy imagination would make it very difficult for him to believe that Kristen would never be unfaithful again and it doesn't matter to him how long she was having the affair. Her claims that it was a "one-off" situation would be incomprehensible to him. Also, even if he decides to be with her again, the thought of her with someone else would be unbearable for him. He would also find it difficult to believe that she feels nothing for the other, and also find it hard to accept that Kristen loves him. But loves him she does.

The best thing about Robert is that he may be idealistic about love, but he does not put the loved one on a pedestal, and is accepting and understanding (more than Kristen) of a person's faults. This can be seen from the shape of his Jupiter finger, heart line and shape of palm. However, loyalty to him would be non-negotiable because his sensitive nature can't handle it. If he can learn to handle it, he can be accepting of her with her faults.

Kristen's hand shows her to be amazingly talented and committed, someone who will keep perfecting her talent at every opportunity she gets. Her artistic bent of mind and talent can take her to great heights if she allows it too. She certainly wants the fame a lot more than Robert does.

In addition, the developed Mars mounts on Rajesh's hands, the long thumb, the shape of his Apollo finger specially the tip, and the slight gap between his Headline and Lifeline meant that he could give expression to this passion outwardly, a trifle dramatically, and also express his inherent histrionic ability.

This gives the owner a childlike conviction in his own importance. It is pure self-love and people with this quality are often drawn into public life, either into politics or acting. It is a quality which actually helps an actor in his work because he enjoys being seen and watched. People have said that RK or Kakaji as he was popularly known was shy. There is an evidence of slight introversion in his early years (Venus Mount) but by the age of 30 or so it was almost gone. Rajesh’s hands show his idealism, and worse, a difficulty in seeing another’s point of view (finger shape, mars mounts and also the quadrangle) and a man pretty much difficult to persuade.

Taken singly none of the negative qualities make a tragic hero. But in combination they can shake the balance of personality, specially when some of them are present in an intense way, like the ego and the stubbornness. Despite this a person can find a balance if he has a good Headline. A good Headline shows pragmatism, good judgment, self-control and common sense, quite necessary for long-term success. In Rajesh Khanna's case the Headline is weak if one compares it to the rest of the hand. Without good judgment life can become a roller coaster ride.

Kate Middleton and the hands of the British Royals

Does Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, fit into the royal family of Britain – temperament wise? Are her values similar to that of the royal family? If one compares the hands of various members of the Windsor family, then the answer is more of a yes rather than a no. Although Kate is temperamentally different, there is a similarity, especially if one thinks back to how at odds Princess Diana was with
the Windsors. Princess Diana’s hands show her to be markedly different from the rest of the Windsor royals, and such large differences do not result in happy marriages. In this post I will explore briefly the similarities and differences between Kate Middleton and her husband and in-laws. Similarities with the Windsors
Kate’s broad palm (although her longish hand does take away from it) is similar to the shape of the palms of her in-laws and that of her husband Prince William. Her Headline is fine and balanced, broadly similar to that of William. Her fingers are fairly straight with a good medium set thumb. What this means is that intellectually she is suited to the Prince and shares a similar world view. Breadth of vision and common sense are the qualities she shares with most members of her husband’s immediate family. Kate is more broad-minded and reasonable than her father-in-law Prince Charles, but equal to her husband Prince William in these qualities. People like her and William usually get along with a diverse bunch of people, because they are sensible and pragmatic. Kate is also straightforward, direct and discreet (like other members of the royal family), and also a little timid, and these qualities would likely endear her to them.

Kate Middleton and Princess Di
Kate Middleton’s hands are markedly different from Princess Diana’s. They show that she lacks Diana’s deeply compassionate and philanthropic nature, but then so do her Windsor in-laws. The royals maybe good people, but Princess Diana had an exceptionally developed humanitarian outlook which none of them possess. If one goes by hand reading, then it is highly unlikely that Diana, who was more of a romantic soul, could have connected with her daughter-in-law Kate at a deeper level. Kate’s hands show her to be a very smart and savvy person, unlike Diana.

Differences with the Windsors
What makes the Kate Middleton different from the Windsors is her calmer nature as compared to their hot-blooded one. In fact Kate can quite distant and cold on occasion, although she is the nervous type. The nervousness is compounded by an inner timidity. Money and position are very important to Kate Middleton. If her hand shows her to be more materialistic than the Windsors, and Princess Diana, nothing wrong with that. It could be due to her down-to-earth and straightforward nature. All this is evident not just by the shape of Kate Middleton's headline and her limited mounts, but also her Apollo and Jupiter fingers, thumb setting and shape, and the texture of her palm and lines.

Unlike some other royals wives Kate is not temperamental or moody (controlled mounts). She is not short-tempered, but she can be irritable. She is sensible and knows what she wants. Will Pranab Mukherjee make a good President?

Pranab Mukherjee, India’s finance minister and a veteran politician is set to become India's new President and luckily I was not short of photos of his hand. His intelligence, balanced and logical thinking, pragmatism and reasoning abilities are all clearly marked on his hand, not just on his Headline, but also revealed by his long, well-shaped, well-set Thumb and the length of the phalanges. Surprisingly, Pranab Mukherjee’s hand does not show political cunning (Mercury finger shape and setting plus shape of other fingers), a quality one would expect he had developed after so many years in office. Despite the Mercury Mount being good, Mukherjee has a certain naiveté. He is no doubt a strong personality, evident from the quality of lines on the hand, the Thumb and developed Mars mounts, but this does not necessarily translate into astuteness.

The fact that Mukherjee tends to speak his mind and does not sugar-coat his views (Thumb and Mercury shape) adds to the problem. As Mukherjee is also an independent thinker (finger setting) and quite likely to do as he pleases if he thinks it's correct (whatever others think) this compounds the problem. This can result in some unusual ideas and actions, although not necessarily progressive, as his views tend to be fixed, even narrow. He may not always take into account the broad picture or get involved with larger issues unless he feels it's his duty. These characteristics do not make him an easy person to get along with. He is certainly not a pliable person, but he is not egoistic.

While Pranab Mukherjee cannot be pushed easily, he can possibly be manipulated. This becomes even more of a possibility as he is not easy with others, and his imagination which is well developed (Moon mounts) can be used to make him believe the worst.

What has got Mukherjee to the high echelons of power is not just his mind, but his superior executive and organizational ability, and excellent management skills, not to mention the strong personality with individualistic views and high ambition. Although Mukherjee likes power, he is an inherently straightforward man, not a crook. However he can act in unfathomable ways due to his (at times) prejudiced thinking.

As often is the case with such type of people, her basic constitution is delicate. It is almost as if the stretched nerves drain such people of energy that could be put to use more productively. Interestingly, if Gaga manages her health till about the age of 45, then it will improve significantly and she is likely to become calmer as well.

She thinks a lot, and analyses and plans. This may make her appear slow to react. She is idealistic, quite righteous, and very shrewd. Her righteousness can become a problem at times.

Although she is not mentally weak, she is not exceptionally strong either and needs to keep this in mind and not push herself too hard or expect too much from herself. Burn-out is a possibility with a personality such as hers. An intensely strong drive and ambition, but without the matching stamina required in the long run.

A change in her thinking is evident as she nears her mid-twenties and this is the time when the serious aspect of her persona becomes more obvious (seen from her Saturn finger and Headline). Miley is likely to go through a difficult period in her early thirties although this is preventable.

She has a reasonable amount of talent but what she does with it in the future is entirely up to her. She is basically a sensible, focused person, and can make a smooth transition into adult fame if she does not stress herself out too much, or expect too much from herself. It is very important for her to choose a good business manager because her hand shows a lack of instinct in this department. It is also important for her not to mix up her personal and professional lives and not let her personal crises affect her work.
