Hello,

Vanochtend las ik met veel interesse jullie artikel over mogelijke oplossingen voor ons geweldige fileprobleem. Heel interessant allemaal, ware het niet dat de beste manier om files te vermijden erin bestaat om met z’n allen gewoon veel minder te rijden. Niet alleen doordat belastingen rijden onbetaalbaar maken, maar ook doordat onze bedrijven mensen meer gaan aanmoedigen om vooral niet in de file te staan elke ochtend …

Wij zijn de voorbije 2 jaren hard aan de weg aan het timmeren en samen met een aantal partners hebben wij de New World of Work alliantie opgezet (AOS Studley, Getronics, Microsoft en PwC). Eén keer per jaar organiseren wij nu de Nationale Thuiswerkdag om zo veel mogelijk mensen en organisaties te mobiliseren om intelligenter om te gaan met thuiswerk en verplaatsingen. En verder proberen we de wereld (bedrijven, overheden, vakbonden, …) warm te maken voor het nieuwe werken in de brede zin van het woord, want niet alleen het mobiliteitsprobleem is een remmende factor voor groei in onze samenleving, maar als we niet allemaal dringend gaan nadenken over een andere manier van werken, wordt het moeilijk om concurrentieel te zijn in een wereld waar de concurrentie steeds sneller en van overal komt; komen we in de problemen door onze verouderende bevolking; blijft het lastig om jonge mensen te motiveren om voor onze bedrijven te willen werken; en gaan we lekker door met vervuilen …

De oplossing zit ‘m niet zozeer in de technologische snufjes die zoiets allemaal mogelijk maken, al geloven wij als ICT bedrijf dat er wel veel mogelijk is vandaag terwijl de meeste mensen helaas nog geen toegang hebben tot dergelijke tools (dat zie je ook in onze jaarlijkse ICT barometer). Maar volgens ons ligt de oplossing net in een intelligente combinatie van (vooral) een nieuwe bedrijfscultuur en HR-policies, samen met de juiste kantoorinrichting en slimme technologie. Op die manier moedigen we onze mensen aan om meer na te denken over het waar en wanneer van hun werk. En dat hoeft niet altijd en voor iedereen 9 to 5 op kantoor te zijn. Sinds de invoering staan onze mensen alvast véle uren minder in de file en dragen we ons steentje bij tot de oplossing van het probleem. We hebben er zelfs een boek over geschreven. En onze medewerkers getuigen van het resultaat op onze website.

Respect your colleagues and your environment (avoid noise) and use the correct working environment for each task. (Bubble, Cockpit, Meeting room, Flex desk, Touchdown,….)
Avoid paper!
Share your outlook agenda with your colleagues and keep it up to date.
Start up Communicator and indicate your working location. Use a note to update your colleagues on your whereabouts.
If you communicate, think about using the best tool for the job: e-mail, instant messaging, phone, Live Meeting, face-to-face meeting…
Talk to your colleagues about ways to better collaborate using Sharepoint and other tools.
Keep your desk clean and dare to work in other clusters to meet other colleagues.
Do not process mails or perform other non related tasks during meetings. Respect the meeting guidelines.
Have your lunch in the lunch lounge and enjoy a snack at the coffee corner. Do not eat at your desk.
Add the URL of intranet NWOW portal http://community.getranet.com/blogs/default.aspx to your favorites and visit the portal on a daily basis.
