The stream captured a dark orb-like object flying above the city. The bottom side of the object being illuminated by the city lights, adding authenticity to the video. We know that the object is physically there and not superimposed digitally.

The most logical explanation would be that this is some type of balloon, however we shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss the video. You might recall the ongoing investigation into Colombia’s Buga Spheres. Which have an uncanny resemblance to the México orb video.

I’ve been following Nick’s work since the beginning and have always appreciated his honest and concise reporting on cases. Especially his early work on the Rendlesham Forest incident. He’s definitely moved the needle forward, cementing his place in the great Ufologist hall of fame. Along with others like Stanton Friedman,
Jacques Vallee, Budd Hopkins, and John Keel.

Sixty one years ago in a remote stretch of road in the Arcadia region in Greece, thirty two year-old George Psychoyos found himself driving alone on a desolate country road late that frigid January night. He was driving back to his home village of Achladokambos when he encountered something truly terrifying that would forever change his life.

As his car traversed the rough road that night in 1964, the headlights suddenly illuminated something bizarre on the side of the road. As he got closer, Mr. Psychoyos realized what he was looking at and it made no sense: A giant humanoid being towering on the side of the road, standing still in complete and total darkness. Among the olive groves and tall grass stood an unimaginable being that Mr. Psychoyos estimated to be taller than five meters (16.4 ft). A “Giant Humanoid“, is what the news article printed a few days later. According to the rest of the story, the giant being stood for a second before crossing the road in one huge step, only to completely dissolve once it crossed to the other side. This story was printed in the book Achladokambos Folklore (1985), by Ioannis Anagnostopoulos. Greek writer and researcher, Thanassis Vembos, included the translated version of this story in his blog as part of a collection of humanoid creatures in Greece.

It’s a great possibility that the story of the giant humanoid came from a local newspaper article that received little to no attention from any major press outlets. We must remember that back in 1964 Greece had just climbed out of the ruins of WWII and its own Civil War in the mid 1940s. Regions like the Peloponnese were swiftly overtaken by the invading armies as there was a severe lack of social infrastructure like telecommunications, military, or even public transport. Villages communicating via radios were living the high-tech life compared to the rest. But by the mid 1960s, Greece was starting to grow economically and technically with the rest of the world. So a story so wild, so unbelievable like that of Mr. Psychoyos would have more than likely be printed on several Greek newspapers. Allowing Mr. Ioannis Anagnostopoulos to preserve and compile that story along with other in his Achladokambos Folklore book.

However we’ll probably never know if this story came from an actual police report or if was just made up sensationalism to sell newspapers. We then come to the familiar crux that haunts paranormal investigations: It all comes down to how believable the witness is and how solid the evidence is. We don’t know for sure if on that dark January night Mr. George Psychoyos came across an almost twenty foot tall humanoid. We don’t even know if Psychoyos is a real person but it does make for a terrifying and fascinating story doesn’t it?

But was it just a story?

A story like that of Mr. Psychoyos would be faintly remembered over time as just that…a story. Something to add to the folklore of the area for centuries to come. However what if Mr. Psychoyos had with him a small camera? Something handy that he could’ve whipped out last minute to capture what he had just laid eyes upon. What then?

His story would go from folklore to sharing the spotlight with other classics in the paranormal zeitgeist. Like the infamous picture of the Brown Lady of Raynham Hall, or the Borley Rectory brick photo. Mr. Psychoyos’ photograph would probably be just as ambiguous and fascinating as the rest of them. I could see it now: A blurry photograph off-center probably severely underexposed. Maybe showing what looked like two cement pillars on the side of the road. The picture being taken from inside his car, maybe from behind the windscreen or maybe he stuck his camera out the driver’s side window for a dramatic shot.

The point is that Mr. Psychoyos did not do any of that, since he had no camera with him. Negating the rest of us that crucial thing his story needed: Evidence. However fast-forward twenty five years later and several hundred kilometers to the north, a eleven year-old girl would finally avenge Mr. Psychoyos, so to speak.

About seven hundred kilometers north of Achladokambos, as the crow flies, is the village of Chrysopetra, situated in the Kilkis region of Northern Greece. It was there on a Thursday morning of June 29th, 1989. Two and a half decades after Mr. Psychoyos’ claim, sixty three year-old grandmother Triandafylia Kaloyanni was outside her home watering her plants that day when a couple of loud bangs reverberated across her property. Loud and strong enough to send a jolt through the ground, shaking her small and modest home. Assuming that something bad happened, she rushed to her grandchildren who were playing in the front of the house.

She ran into eleven year-old Evvi Sottiropoulou and her ten year-old brother, Constandinos, crying out in terror. “Grandma! I saw an enormous white cloud…like a man! I heard a bang and the man disappeared immediately!”

Mrs. Kaloyanni did not know what to make of the children’s claims, however it was clear that whatever they saw and caused that loud sound was real enough to put both her grandchildren in state of panic. She went to inspect the spot where her granddaughter had seen the giant white cloud, finding a set of two gigantic footprints on the soft sandy road. According to the news article, one of the prints measured 3.6 ft x 1.1 ft. while the other print measured 3.4 ft x 1 ft. The prints both had a visible heel, arch and the imprints of what appeared to be five distinct toes. The news article stated: “Both prints were in such position that they gave the impression that a giant human or humanoid stood there only for a moment, and then vanished into thin air.”

The children’s father telephoned the local police department about what his children had seen that day. Apparently the children and grandmother were disturbed enough that the man’s only solution was to call the authorities and ask for help. Once the police arrived, they questioned the children to get a detailed account of what they had seen. Evvi reported to them that the being was a “deformed giant, 8 meters high with his legs seemingly dissolved.”

“He was apparently made of, or enshrouded in, white smoke.” wrote Mr. Vembos in his 1989 article. “The police arrived and found the giant footprints in front of Mrs. Kaloyanni’s house. They tried to protect them by putting bricks around them, but one of the footprints was partly damaged by a passing car.”

By that time, the local police from Kilkis sent a message to the Greek Police Headquarters in Athens. Which according to Vembos’ article, the Chief of Police in Athens sent order to keep the “extraterrestrial visit” a secret. While also ordering the local police in Kilkis to keep guard of the prints until scientists from the Aristotle University of Salonica had a chance to study them. The university’s rector sent meteorologist Theodore Karrakostas and the assistant professor of Meteorology, Charalambos Sachsamanoglou to investigate the claim. Vembos reported that the scientists main job was to pacify the residents and stop the extraterrestrial talk. Which coincides with most UFO cases involving authorities.

President of the nearby community of Mandres village, Mr. Kostas Vasdravanidis was at the scene. When he was asked by Mr. Vembos’ colleague to comment about the event, he has this to say: “Surely there was an extraterrestrial who, being in another dimension, apparently entered our world, so he became visible and left the footprints…”

According to one of the meteorologist, a dust devil could have possibly formed the prints. However upon further examination, they grew more and more puzzled…abandoning the idea of an artistic whirlwind. Mr. Charalambos Sachsamanoglou had the following to say:

No one, it seems, has been able to explain Evvi’s account of the giant humanoid and the mysterious footprints it left behind. Just like no one has been able to explain Mr. Psychoyos account that frightful night in 1964. Yet some writers and researchers find it necessary to preserve these stories so that they don’t get lost in time. They’ll use their own resources, like time and money, to travel across the country and interview these witnesses who are your ordinary normal citizen. Who just happened to come across something so wonderful yet terrorizing that it completely changes their ontological beliefs.

One sunny September afternoon I met with Mr. Vembos in a cafe in Athens. I asked him: “What do you make of all of this? Do you believe these stories, like what happened in Chrysopetra in ’89?”

Shrugging his shoulders before taking a hot sip, he said: “What can we make of it? In Chrysopetra…I remember…I was the only reporter that had translated the story from Greek to English. I didn’t go there myself, a colleague of mine went. Back in 1989, I didn’t have a car so I couldn’t make the trip up north.” He took a sip of his coffee

“And your colleague…what was his impression on interviewing the witnesses and speaking to with the local police? Did they sound credible?” I asked.

“You have to remember, back then…in that part of Greece people were seeing all kinds of strange lights in the sky. Remember the UFO flap of the 50s here in Greece? That’s what it was like up there at that time…the people of the area had been reported UFOs and strangeness days before this incident.”

His words reminded of John Keel’s work in The Mothman Prophecies. Where Keel himself went to West Virginia to investigate a rash of paranormal incidents that haunted several small towns and a UFO flap that was a prelude to the actual sightings of a winged being. Just like in West Virginia, there was a wave of UFO sightings in the 1950s all over Greece. Just like there definitely was several reported sightings of lights above the small villages of the Kilkis region in 1989. Like in Keel’s scenario, all of these reports happening before the sighting of a terrifying humanoid being.

“The guy himself…you know, he was a reporter. A colleague of mine that had access to the area.” Mr. Vembos continued. “He said that all the witnesses sounded sincere and that there definitely were a set of giant footprints on the road. They had tried to preserve them the best they could, but I think some car ran over them at first. They did make those casts though.”

“Yeah, I saw the pictures online. I’d be interested to know if the casts were still around. Maybe stored in some monastery, long forgotten over the years?”

“Naw, not likely.” Mr. Vembos answered. “They are probably broken, lost to time, you know?…”

A few things stand out from this case, one of them being the similarities in other stories of strange tracks in the wild that come to an abrupt end. There’s the famous Ape Canyon Incident of 1924, where prospectors had come under attack by large humanoid (Sasquatch) creatures in the High Sierras. The prospectors had reported days prior to the attack that they had found and followed a set of humongous tracks by a riverbed. After a bit of tracking, they came to a sand bar where the tracks simply stopped. As if the big-footed creature had just been plucked into the sky.

 “They described the tracks to being nineteen inches long, four inches deep in the sand. However, upon inspection of the area, the men noticed that those were the only two foot prints in the sand and they were in the middle of the sand bar. As if whatever had made those prints, had taken a huge, 160 foot step on to the middle of the bank. Hank stated “No human being could have made these tracks, and there’s only one way they could be made, something dropped from the sky and went back up.” The men were under the impression that whatever large creature made the prints, it seemed to have appeared and disappeared into thin air.” – Attack On Ape Canyon.

Whatever landed in the small village of Chrysopetra that day left its impressions on the dirt road. Appearing and disappearing out of our reality within a blink of an eye. I had proposed that maybe next spring we could do a road trip up to the village to further research the case. However we both knew that the possibilities of the casts being kept stored in a safe location after all these years were close to nil.

I sat there drinking my coffee and listening to the many stories Mr. Vembos has researched and translated throughout the decades, definitely a labor of love. He looked at his phone, took another sip of his coffee and said: “You know, those aren’t the only cases of giant humanoids. Back in 1978, in Helis…some remote part…another colleague of mine investigated this one, he told me of a story about a man [Antonis Coulouris] that claimed to have seen giant humanoids…tall…like the others. He told me that the man was driving one night and had suddenly come across a couple of giants that were illuminated by his truck’s headlights.”

“What? what else did he report?” I asked.

“That’s it! The guy saw the beings, he was terrified and put his truck in reverse…he said his truck stopped working momentarily…”

The report is in Mr. Vembos’ blog. It states that the incident took place on August 6th, 1978 in the country road between Agia Mavra and Lefkohori villages. The witness, Antonis Coulouris, was trying to flee for his life when his truck suddenly stopped about 60 meters away from the giant beings. He then stated that his truck began to shake (vibrate). Once the shaking stopped, Mr. Coulouris was able to start the engine and speed away as fast as possible.

“This happened so long ago. I didn’t get to go out and investigate this one, my friend did. There wasn’t much more to this story. The man was driving and then he came across these giant beings that vanished right away. He told me that the poor man was terrified and that he had definitely seen something out there…”

We sat that September afternoon in a coffee shop in Athens, exchanging stories and pleasantries. I had reached out to Mr. Vembos since I had spend the summer reading his many stories of strange humanoid creatures in Greece. He’s a writer with a keen interest in the paranormal and the unexplained and is well connected in the local UFO community. Since the 1980s, he’s been combing through and archiving old Greek newspapers, searching for those strange stories that time has forgotten. Stories that he feels need to be told and shared with the world.

“Like I said, what can we make of this?” he continued. “I get people showing me things all the time. I had a guy come to me the other day. He was so excited to show me the ‘UFO’ he had captured. He then showed me a picture of some blurry lights in the sky.”

“What did the lights look like?”

“Just lights…just random lights on a black screen…what do I do with that? He claims it was a UFO but how can I tell? And what should I do with that information?”

It’s true. Why do we go out there and make an effort to gather these types of stories? Why interview witnesses that are claiming to see these fantastical things without a single shred of evidence that backs up their stories? Like agent Mulder, we keep going down this labyrinth of strangeness, trying to make sense of the unexplained in order to answer our own questions pertaining to the paranormal.

A few years ago, when I interviewed the father and son who had been “chased” down a country road by a UFO I saw real fear and confusion in both their eyes. They recounted their story to me with much detail and emotions that there wasn’t room for doubt about what they had seen. It was obvious to me that they had seen something unusual in the sky that night, something that truly terrified and unnerved them. The father had asked me for any explanation that would calm him and his son: “Tell me…you study these things, you have contacts in the field…in America…what were these lights? Why us?” – Mr. Tarsinos.

What do we make of stories like that of little Evvi’s encounter? Most people will dismiss it as a fabrication of the child’s imagination, or something that was caused by natural phenomena. However Mr. Vembos mentioned that his colleague reported that the children were genuinely terrified and were showing signs of trauma. What do we say to those children? That whatever horrific thing they happened to have seen was nothing more than a product of a gust of wind?

I guess that we don’t say anything. Because we ourselves do not understand what it is we’re dealing with. So instead, we listen with empathy and careful attention. Because more than likely, ours will be the only open ears that will listen to their encounter without judgement. We’re only there to ask questions, listen, observe, and notate. Because after having such an impactful experience, the witnesses are left drifting alone in dark waters. They have to navigate through a storm of emotions and accusations that follow such events. Researchers willing to meet them to listen to their stories are the lighthouses that guide them home after a rough storm at sea. By listening and being compassionate, we somehow help put the witness at ease, gently bringing their souls back to the shores of our own reality.

It took me over an hour to get home that day and the sun had set as I was driving through the mountain roads. I live outside of Athens, in the Peloponnese region of Greece. Out there where apparently giants and UFOs roam the isolated country roads, waiting to reveal themselves to the lonely and unsuspecting driver at night, like that fateful night in 1964 to a certain George Psychoyos. However, unlike Mr. Psychoyos, the advancement in technology afforded me a false sense of security as I glanced at my smartphone and its easy to access camera…just in case.

“Yeah, just getting some fresh air.” I said, inhaling deep. “Is it time already?”

The man looked at his wristwatch, nodded, and went back inside the building. Enjoying every second of that fresh morning air, I gulped down the last sip of my bitter coffee and followed him inside. “Here we go…” I said to myself. Once inside the room we resumed our session, this time I was handed a different manila envelope and told to study it without touching it.

“Are you ready, Joe?” There were three men with me in that room. All three were seated around me, doing various tasks while they prepared to induce hypnosis. “Let us know if at any point you wish to stop, okay?” Said one of them.

I nodded and they placed a head cap on my head, wired with electrodes and cables to their high-tech computer systems. Unlike anthing I’ve ever seen before. “I’m ready.” I said to them. “Let’s see what we see!”

 the tape recorder starts. The lights are dimmed.

“All right now, using the information in the envelope I’ve provided, exclusively focusing your attention…focus on 40.89 degrees North, 9.55 degrees West…“

I did as was instructed. Closing my eyes and taking in a deep breath, I exhaled and focused on the sealed document in front of me. “uhm, I want to say that it looks like ah…I don’t know, it sort of looks like an oblique view of a…pyramid. It’s very high, kinda sitting in a…large depressed area.”  

I couldn’t seem to tune in correctly since all I could see were these flashes of light in the beginning, almost like static. Once I lengthened my breaths and sank deeper into the chair, more comfortable, the visions became clearer.

“It’s yellowish,” I continued, trying my best to not disappoint. “…okra colored.”  I struggled seeing anything on those coordinates. Sensing that I wasn’t getting much information, they gave me a new objective:

“All right. Move in time to the time indicated in the envelope we’ve provided you and tell us what is happening.”

Right away I started seeing and sensing a lot of wind and clouds. I felt like I was being pushed. “I’m tracking severe, severe clouds…more like a dust storm. It’s a geologic problem. Seems o be like a…just a minute. I got to iron this out, it’s really weird.” I couldn’t make much of what I was seeing.

“Just report your raw perceptions at this time.” one of the other men said to me. “You’re still early in the session.” he added.

I heard his instructions and began to focus deeper on my breathing and what I felt around me. Trying to get a better reading for them. I closed my eyes, tilted my head up to the ceiling and took a breath. “I…I’m looking at an after effect of a major geologic problem..“

“Okay Joe, go back to the time before the geologic problem.” They told me.

“…..um, total difference….It’s….before….there’s no ah….I don’t…..oh hell, it’s like mountains of dirt…appear and then disappear when you go before…l see…large flat surfaces, very ah…smooth..angles. Walls…they’re really large though, I mean they’re megalithic...”

The images were coming in clearer by then, however I was still seeing and feeling a lot of static. There was something off about this session and I couldn’t put my finger on it. It’s wasn’t like the dozens of other sessions we’ve done, no. This time there was something else they weren’t telling me about the target. It didn’t matter now, we were all in the session working together… I pushed through these feelings and focused on the task at hand.

One of the men in the room then proceeded to give me new instructions. “At this period in time now before the geologic activity, look around, in and around this area and see if you can find any activity.“

I closed my eyes, placed my hands on the manila enveloped and took another calming breath. “…I’m seeing ah….it’s like a perception of a shadow of people, very tall…thing, it’s only a shadow. It’s as if they were there and they’re not, not there anymore.”

“Go back to a period of time where they are there.” The voice commanded.

My eyes still closed, I started to look back. Back in time to an era where I felt these shadowy beings even stronger. “I’m getting a lot of static on a line…everything is breaking up all the time, very fragmented pieces.”

“Just report the raw data, don’t try to put things together. Just report the raw data...” ssuggested the voice.

I closed my eyes for a brief moment. I then relaxed them as I guided my mind deeper into relaxation. “I just keep seeing very large people. They appear thing and tall, but they’re very large. Ah…wearing some kind of strange clothes.” I couldn’t see them very well, but what I did see was gigantic and towered high above myself.

An animal? A giraffe? No. It felt to me so unnatural.

“All right,” one of the men interrupted. “now holding this time period, I want to move from your physical location in space to another physical location, but in this time period. Move to: 46.45 Norh, 353.22 East.“

I didn’t open my eyes at all. They remained closed, while I listed to my instructions. I did as I was told, I moved myself to a different space. “…it’s deep inside a cavern, not a cavern, more like a canyon. Uhm, I’m looking up, up the sides of a steep wall that seems to go on forever. There’s like ah….a structure with a …it’s like the wall of the canyon itself has been carved. Again I’m getting a very large structures, no….ah……no intricacies, huge sections of smooth stone.“

“Do the structures have insides and outsides?” One of the men asked.

“…Yes, they’re very, it’s like a rabbit warren, corners of rooms, they’re really HUGE. Perception is that the ceiling is very high, walls very wide….” I couldn’t even put into words the enormity of what I was seeing. Megalithic…massive.

“All right Joe, I’d like to move now to another location nearby. All right, move from this point in this time to: 45.89 North, 354.1 East.“

Right away the images started to come in. “They have ah…appears to be the end of a very large road and there’s a…marker thing that’s very large, keep getting Washington Monument overlay, it’s like an..obelisk.“

“Okay, from this point then, move to another point: 35.26. North, 213.24 East.”

“…it’s like I’m in the middle of a…huge circular basin…of the range mountains by almost all the way around, …very ragged, ragged mountains, very tall. Basin’s very, very, very large. Scale seems to bee off or something it’s just really big, everything’s big…” My god, I’ve never seen images like those before. I couldn’t comprehend where I was in time or space, jut that I was dwarfed by everything in this space and felt uncomfortable.

Sensing my distress, one of the men asked me to focus. “I understand the problem, just continue.“

“…See just a right angle corner to something but that’s all, I don’t see anything else.” I answered.

“Okay. Then let’s move into a little different place, very close. Move from the point you are now, in this time to: 34.6 North, 213.09 East.”

“…The cluster of squares up and down. Um….it’s like you want to make them square anyway. They’re almost flush with the ground and it’s like they’re connected….something very white or reflects light.” Whatever this was, it was blinding and engulfed all my senses.

“What’s your position of observation as you look at this thing that reflects light?” they asked.

“I’m amid ah…oblique left angle, sun is ah….sun is weird.” I couldn’t see much, it was so bright.

“Look back down at the ground now, and we’re going to move just a little bit from this place, just a little bit from this place. 34.57 North, 212.22 East.”

I focused on the new coordinates given. Right away I felt a tingling sensation course through my body. “It’s like I can just perceive ah….ah…like a radiating pattern of some kind. It’s like some really, uh…strange intersecting kind of roads that are dug into valleys, you know, where a road is just a little below the edge.” The images were coming in a bit clearer now. “…They’re like real neat channels cut, they’re very deep, it’s like the road went down.…”

“Okay. Now I have, I notice electrically you’re nulled out a little bit and I want you to stay deep and recapture your focus here...” They told me.

I heard the voice, but it was faint. With my eyes closed and relaxed, I followed their instructions. “It’s really tough, very sporadic…”

“I realize that,” the man said. “It’s very important that you maintain your focus. I have a movement exercise again for you and this is some considerable distance away, so holding the focus in time, remember the focus in time that you had before and moving now to: 15 degrees North, 198 degrees east….Take some time and get back…deep.”

I exhaled extraordinarily long, regained my focus and proceeded. “See the…um, intersecting ah…whatever these are, are aqueduct type things…these…rounded bottom carved channels, like road beds. See ah…. see pointed tops of something on the horizon. Even the horizon looks funny and weird. It’s like ah…different…misty, like its really far away…very vague.”

“Okay. Another movement now to: 80 degrees South, 64 degrees East.”

“..See pyramids….Can’t tell if it’s overlay or not because they are different.”

One of the men asked me . “Do these pyramids have insides and outsides?“

I couldn’t make them out at first. They felt ancient, gigantic. “…Um, got both and they’re, um…huge…It’s really, ah…it’s an interesting perception I’m getting. It’s filtered from the storms or something...”

“Say that again…”

“They’re like shelters from storms.” I repeated. I couldn’t make sense of the complex shapes and colors I was seeing.

“These structures you’re seeing?” they asked.

“Yes, they’re designed for that.” I answered.

“All right. Go inside one of these and find some activity to tell me about.”

Eyes still closed, I obliged. “Different chambers...” I began. “…they’re almost stripped of any kind of…furnishings or anything, it’s like ah….strictly functional place for sleeping or that’s not a good word, hibernations..some form, I can’t, I get real raw inputs, storms, savage storms, and sleeping through the storms.“

“Tell me about the ones who sleep through the storms.”

“…….Ah..very…very..tall..again, very large….people, but they’re thin, they look thin because of their height and they dress like in, oh hell, it’s like a real light silk, but it’s not flowing type of clothing, it’s like cut to fit…”

“Move close to one of them and ask them to tell you about themselves.”

I hesitated, but eventually did as I was told. “They’re ancient people. They’re ah…they’re dying, it’s past their time or age.“

“Tell me about this.” The man pressed.

“They’re very philosophic about it. They’re looking for ah…a way to survive and they just can’t. Can’t seem to get their way out, they can’t seem to find their way out,…so they’re hanging on while they look or wait for something to return or something coming with the answer...”

“What is it they’re waiting for?“

“…They’re ah…evidently was a …a group or a part of them that went to find ah…new place to live. It’s like I’m getting all kinds of overwhelming input of the…corruption of their environment. It’s failing very rapidly and this group went somewhere…like a long way to find another place to live.” The images were still coming in fragmented however this time they carried with them an intense feeling of isolation and sadness.

“What was the cause of the atmospheric disturbance or the environment disturbance?” A question that saddened me.

“…..I see a picture of a, picture of like a, oh hell, it’s almost a warp in a, oh god, this is difficult. It’s like going, let’s see…I get a globe….ah…it’s like a globe that goes through a comet’s tail or…it’s through a river of something, but it’s all very cosmic. It’s like space pictures. “

“All right,” the man said. “Now before you leave this individual, ask him if there is any way that you , ask him if he knows who you are and is there any way you can help him in his present predicament?“

“……All I get is that they must just wait. Doesn’t know who I am. Think he perceives I’m a hallucination or something.”

“Okay, when the others left, these people are waiting, when the others left, how did they go?“

I blinked my eyes open a couple of times and looked around the room. The men were all busy scribbling on their notepads and pouring over the data printout from the computers. Sitting in front of me was the envelope. I reached over, opened it and pulled out an index card that was inside. It read:

The planet Mars.

1 million years B.C.

The Sound of My Voice is a short written by Xavier Ortega. It is based on a real CIA transcript of a declassified 1995 document titled “Mars Exploration: May 22, 1984” under Project Stargate.

Project Stargate was created in 1978 in Fort Meade, Maryland. It’s aim was to gain information on certain targets by remote viewing. Which was something that was practiced centuries ago in Japan by practitioners of the art of Ninjutsu, who used their skills to infiltrate enemy compounds.

Joseph McMoneagle was a U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer and the project’s top remote viewer.

Take the book The Eighth Tower by Keel for example. Published in 1975, Keel talks about Saul of Tarsus or Saint Paul and his conversion. How an interaction with a UAP changed the course of history and the deaths of thousands if not millions of people:

In the New Testament, Acts chapter ten talks about another of Saint Paul’s visions. This time however he’s not sparing the lives of Christians, he’s told by another celestial “orb” to eat more animals:

At face value, we can say that Saint Paul’s conversion were caused by a UAP (in all sense of the acronym) and resulted in a drastic change in his life (and the lives of the early Christians for that matter).

Jacques Vallée has also mentioned orbs of lights in biblical context. He’s also kicked around the theory that crashed UFOs could be a “gift” to us from our cosmic brothers and sisters. This gift is meant to stimulate our civilization and give us some of their technology at a controlled pace. Take for example the incident at Roswell, New Mexico in 1947.

Both men believed in the possibility that whatever these so-called aliens were, they at times interjected in human history to manipulate the course of human history.

Now, I can go into the conversation about the lack of UAP intervention during the Third Reich, Hiroshima & Nagasaki, the Tulsa Massacre and other times of human atrocities but that’s an obvious and cliché. There were no orbs coming down and zapping Hitler’s or Truman’s brain, telling them to spare the lives of millions. Why not?

Let’s take a walk into the world of Alien Abductions for a bit, I’d like to discuss a few things….

The first modern case of human abduction was the case of Barney and Betty Hill in 1961 on a remote highway in New Hampshire. As the story goes, the couple claimed to have been taken aboard a spaceship and had experiments performed on them as well as an exchange of information with the alien beings. The Hill abduction case is still considered one of the most famous UFO cases in history.

What’s interesting about this case is that the Hills were in a interracial marriage during a time in the United States in which racial injustices were largely ignored by those in power. The civil rights movement had gained momentum by 1961, with its Freedom Riders and their brave confrontation with the American South. Barney Hill had joined the civil rights movement and helped make it grow. Betty herself was a member of the NAACP, helping those in need.

In a tumultuous time in the United States with much death and civil unrest, the orbs missed a pivotal moment to interject and change the course of history for people, especially when African Americans who by that time, had gone through generations of abuse by those in power. But in 1961, there were no orbs coming down to help. Yet the Hills experience with these “orbs” that descended from above was nothing more than terrifying.

The orbs could have used the Hills as a stage, a platform, to get their message of peace and love (forgiveness to the early Christians) out there and stop the violence and death. Yet that wasn’t the case.

More curiously, the Hills wasn’t the first real abduction case. No, that title goes to a Brazilian farmer whose story is quite intriguing.

Antonio Vila-boas claimed to have been abducted in 1957 while ploughing his field at night. Being too hot to work during the day, Antonio preferred the cool working conditions at night. Along with the moonlight, his tractor provided the rest of the light he needed. On the night of October 15th, he saw a red light descend from the sky and land near his fields.

Upon closer inspection, Antonio realized that what he was looking at was a strange egg-shaped craft. Panicked, he tried to flee on his tractor only to find it not starting. He jumped off and started to run when he came upon a five-foot tall humanoid creature that grabbed him. Other creatures quickly joined in subduing a terror-stricken farmer.

The alien creatures took Antonio into the space craft and from there his story gets even wilder. He claimed that eventually he was stripped out of his clothes and put in a room with a female humanoid that was as tall as the other beings, but had silvery-white hair and bright red pubic and armpit hair. Again, this account comes from 1957.

Antonio claimed that something came over him and he became extremely attracted to the being with cat-like eyes that he eventually had intercourse with her:

Again, these two modern accounts have been investigated by journalist, UFO researchers and skeptics for decades. There have been controversies and claims of debunking. But that’s besides the point I’m trying to make here. Forgetting all the nuances of these two cases, what is the difference between the Hills’ encounter and Saint Paul’s encounter in terms of personal effects?

There are many stories like these ones and none of them make any sense.

Why do celestial orbs come down and give divine advice to Saul of Tarsus to make him stop killing early Christians? Once Saul had the orb “vision” or visitation he stopped trying to destroy Christianity and instead proselytized it. Turning him from Saul of Tarsus to Paul the Apostle or Saint Paul. On the other hand, the Hill’s experience with a “celestial orb” did not advance the ongoing issues with civil rights and racism, which deeply affected and concerned the entire United States of America.

Why do we put more weight on one story, and not the other?

Why don’t we even consider Vila-boas’ story? Because it’s too far out there?

If Saul of Tarsus can stop killing people and then repent and be canonized, then what about Antonio Vila-Boas? I mean, the man could have seeded a new colony of life in some distant, dying planet inhabited by five foot tall humanoid creatures with cat-like eyes. Isn’t he, by all definition of the word, a savior?

What’s happening here?

I guess I should start in the beginning, when the idea for the GhostTheory blog was born. Back in 2006, I lived in Los Angeles and was playing with the idea of creative writing. Photography and poetry were my hobbies and they went together like cemeteries and Nikon cameras.

I used to take my camera and dog with me on long walks exploring different cemeteries and their hidden beauties. It was a way for me to decompress after work or something fun to do on the weekends. It was during this time that I began to think about the similarities between the paranormal and an Operating System. You see before being into cameras and written words, I was into computer Hacking. I still am, but I used to, too. (That was a Mitch Hedberg joke btw.)

Anyway, I was working with FreeBSD UNIX back then and at work we had just deployed a new technology called Jailed Environments. This new tech made it so that within the Unix operating system, we could create a “Jailed environment” to house inside another operating system. Kinda like a Matryoshka doll but for Unix. This allowed us to create virtual environments and sell them to customers as standalone servers. We, like wardens, were in charge of running the system of Jails that housed anything from services to system users. As Root user, or warden, I was able to log into the server and see the dozens of Jailed environments and users accessing files and requesting data…running along, seemingly unaware that they existed in a Jailed environment or “virtual world”.

This is when I began to think of this technology as a model for the Simulation Theory. Let me explain by giving you a long winded example. Imagine a regular user account in a Unix system as a human being. Now imagine the Root user of that system as God, or the creator of the system. With that said, let’s look at a day in the life of user JoeyShmoey:

One day, JoeyShmoey is going about their daily tasks of uploading some files via FTP. Nothing too crazy or advanced, he is just logging into the system to rename and reconfigure the files. Okay, normal usage for the server and the environment. It’s an ordinary day in the life of the electronic being, the system user. However on this one particular day, as JoeyShmoey sends large amounts of data to the open FTP protocol, he discovers that if he sends some garbage text into the FTP protocol or server, he can get it to do something very strange, resulting in him gaining super-level or Root access. JoeyShmoey has found an exploit on the FTP server that will give his regular self access to the entire server and its users.

Now with Administrator privileges, JoeyShmoey is somewhere he’s not supposed to be in and has access to things he’s never had access to. Without knowing exactly how he did it, he has hacked the system and gained root-level access, or Super User. In his jailed environment (Earth), JoeyShmoey has learned that he can hack the applications and services around him to gain high-level access (Consciousness). Once he has hacked into the system he is free to roam and explore (Astral projection) the entire system, including services, users, and databases.

As he gets more and more comfortable with exploring the system, JoeyShmoey is having the time of his life…learning and gaining information at levels never imagined. Suddenly he stops dead in his tracks and recoils in horror. Among the processes and services running, he sees several Jailed environments that exist in total isolation. He gets closer and inspects the jails and sees the world inside of them. The users going about their daily tasks, unaware that nearby another universe of jailed users mirror their existence. They are all in the same OS, just in different partition with no knowledge or access to each other. It was engineered that way by the creator or Super User (Non-Human Intelligence). All this time JoeyShmoey was under the impression that his world and universe (Operating System) was absolute. That there definitely was life in the only universe that he knew of, not that there were many other universes alike. And that those were all clustered and maintained by something that lived on the outside of those clusters. He has just realized that his entire existence could have been crafted with a few swift keystrokes by a system operator:

…nothing but infinity 1s and 0s. Stardust.

Our friend Joey is in the midst of an existential crisis. All because he saw a little tear in the fabric of time and space and grabbed onto it with both hands and pulled as hard as he could, out of curiosity of course. Whether he likes it or not, whether he accepts it or not, he has just found the truth by hacking the system: He’s been living and operating inside a shelled universe all this time, that was meant to keep him and others like him from knowing the truth. And now he can no longer go back into the only world he has ever known. He has tasted the forbidden fruit of knowledge and is hungry for more. There is no going back. Especially not to the jail he was born into and expected to die and respawn in. He’s taken the red pill.

If you ever come across an out-of-place white rabbit, will you follow it? Will you take the red pill?

I’ve written over 1,700 articles and have been on radio and television throughout my writing career with GhostTheory. With that came a lot of work and responsibility to my audience and GhostTheory crew at the time. By 2010 there were hundreds of thousands of hits coming into the website each month and we were churning out articles three or four a day. Not to mention the interviews and traveling I had to do across the country at times. It was a busy but fun time as a writer and paranormal researcher.

The money I made from the website was all based on advertisement, so we were not rolling in the money but we made enough to keep the lights on and fund some excursions. That wasn’t the issue, we weren’t in it for the money. We started to see problems after 2011 when it came to website traffic and user engagement.

By then there were dozens of blogs that were joining the blogosphere and stealing content without remorse. We were spending a lot of time tracking down these blogs that would copy/paste entire articles from GhostTheory without giving us credit. At the same time, I began getting a lot of threats and racists slurs thrown at me every so often due to our skeptical and debunking nature. The attacks were first against my grammar, then escalated to my logic and reasoning to finally graduating to death threats and racial slurs being sent.

Back in the day, there was a popular television series called “Paranormal State”. They were some Pennsylvania college ghost hunting crew, that formed at just the right moment when reality television was picking up steam. This was back in 2007, when television producers were putting out crap television shows. Then seemingly out of nowhere, a guy named Ryan Buell had a new television series called Paranormal State. Buell came onto the scene riding Ed and Loraine Warren’s coattails. He worked hard to usurp the roles of Ed and Loraine Warren in the paranormal field. The Warrens, of course being two old-school grifters in the field.

We began writing articles about their practices and questioned a lot of their evidence. One thing to remember is that this was a hit television show in its heyday and had a massive amount of MySpace and Facebook followers. These followers were ruthless and perfectly proselytized Buell’s monotone message that hauntings almost always had something to do with a demonic possession.

Anyway, every hit piece that we put out against Paranormal State was met with a barrage of insults and death threats. There was this one person who was so offended that we were writing articles against Ryan Buell and his team, that they started their own blog dedicated to supporting Paranormal State and to attack my personal character. Even Ryan Buell said something about GhostTheory.com in one particular interview done by the blogger. Buell did not have anything good to say about us. In the end of all that drama, years later after the show failed to keep an audience, we come to find out that Buell lied about a pancreatic cancer diagnosis for whatever scam he had going-on, was arrested for theft, drugs, and domestic violence against his boyfriend. The man is a grifter, just like those he tried to usurp. In the end, GhostTheory came out victorious against all those years of drama and abuse from Paranormal State’s followers. However that wouldn’t compare to the level of pettiness and grift that came from these two so-called “Vicious Brothers”.

In 2011 a movie titled Grave Encounters was released by Colin Minihan and Stuart Ortiz, known as The Vicious Brothers. The movie received very little attention however I was made aware that the Vicious Brothers had written a character based on me. It wasn’t a compliment either, they resorted to the old racist trope of the Mexican Gardener. The character in the movie is a Mexican man named Javier Ortega, who is a gardener with a heavy accent and limited command of the English language. The main character, a ghost hunter, then proceeds to bribe the gardener a few dollars to admit on camera that the property he worked at was haunted. As if to say, that Javier Ortega is uneducated and can be bought with a few bucks. I mean, what other interpretation can there be?

It was such a long time ago that I don’t remember much from it, but someone who had seen the movie had reached out to me to tell me that they found it offensive. I had no clue what Grave Encounters was or who the Vicious Brothers were, yet clearly I had offended them in some article I or another one of my writers were responsible for. My guess is that it had to do with GhostTheory ramping up the exposure since there were so many new groups claiming outlandish things. Around that same time, I was being interviewed on shows like Weird or What? hosted by William Shatner and countless other radio interviews. I had met with dozens of Hollywood producers and agents that were looking for stories, but wanted them for free. They were looking for hosts of television series, but had no idea what the subject matter was, as long as it got viewers hooked! I remember one phone conversation I had with a producer of a popular Discovery Channel series. This person was so convinced that what the audience needed was the english speaking version of Jaime Mausan. She said that for someone to be such a controversial figure like Mausan, he had a huge following and the viewership and his television show in Mexico reflected that. This producer wanted to replicate the same format of his show, which was basically commenting on fake UFO videos found on YouTube and asking the audience from time to time: “Well, what do you think?“

So in 2012 I started to feel the burnout. I was constantly writing and updating the site only to spend the rest of the day sending Cease & Desist letters to bloggers stealing content. I was getting racists remarks on my blog on a constant basis and I had just gotten married. I needed a break.

So I took a two week trip to New Zealand and Tahiti and when I came back had decided to change my life.

I would still update GhostTheory every so often, but I was at limited capacity. I had started my journey into Martial Arts and trained for many year in Los Angeles while taking the task of writing a book. Around this time, I had found out that some European Video game company had take the name “Ghost Theory” and had developed a virtual reality type video game based on our success as a brand online. The company, DreadLocks ltd. took our name and likeness and build a video game based on the paranormal in an attempt to get money on their KickStarter. They were able to raise thousands of dollars or pounds and had a lot of support from anonymous people who all believed in the game and DreadLocks ltd. However, to this date, the company has not released the video game GhostTheory and has kept all the money they had raised through Kickstarter.

I sent their executives an email about this dirty tactic of stealing my brand/likeness. Of course they ignored it. Take a look at their Kickstarter: “Ghost Theory – A serious take on paranormal research”

They didn’t even try to hide it. Yet somehow they managed to trick thousands of people into donating for their startup, which never actually “started up” and all that is left from that KickStarter campaign are angry donors that are left perplexed and without a Ghost Theory video game. What was going on in this online world of the paranormal? It seemed like everything and everyone associated with the paranormal were crooks and grifters. I needed an out.

Eventually I made the move to Brooklyn, New York and lived out there for several years. I continued in my journey through martial arts and became a Krav Maga instructor teaching classes in downtown Manhattan. My wife and I decided to have a baby and as soon as he turned a year old, we were already planning on leaving the United States. By then I had already started my own tech company and worked from home 24/7 which allowed me to move out of America and to Europe, to a remote place in the mountains of Greece. I wanted to reset and focus on what matters most to me. However the need to write never left. That itch was still there and it waited patiently to be scratched.

It’s December 1st, 2023. A long way from 2008 when I first registered GhostTheory.com. And man, has the world changed….

First off, I hope that I find you, dear reader, in good health and spirit. I want to first acknowledge that without the help of Scott, Gary, Henry, Lindsay, and Val I could not have done this. With their help, we were able to reach so many people and do so much with the blog. They will forever be my friends and part of GhostTheory.

Next I would like to give thanks to those of you readers that have been with us form the beginning and continue to check in from time-to-time. I promise I didn’t mean to abandon you guys, I just needed to go outside and touch some grass. I needed that disconnect from everything related to the paranormal and unexplained. I was going far too deep into the rabbit hole. Gnostic texts? Gateway Tapes? The Law of One? What the fuck was I doing? In fact, during the pandemic, we were isolated from civilization up here in the mountains that it allowed me time to reintroduce myself to the world of the paranormal. And it looks like I’ve been away far too long.

So, they’re not called UFOs now?

The 2017 NYT article about UAPs shook Ufology to the core, and since then we’ve seen and heard countless stories from government whistleblower coming forward. Claims of Human trafficking and other nefarious things being committed by secret shadow corporations using UAP tech are all over the headlines. This is a far cry from the headlines of 2008. Because of Google and other data manipulators, the paranormal conversations have moved from the blogosphere to more centralized discussion (Social Media / YouTube). This was an obvious plan that many of us in the Tech sector saw happening way back in 2014 or 2015. The way Google stopped crawling websites, and issued penalties for not having your website up to whatever web standards they had just implemented. What did that mean for GhostTheory? It meant that Google stopped showing GhostTheory in the results pages, and instead drove traffic to Social Media platforms or Video platforms. (Reddit or YouTube)

YouTube took over for Bloggers. The term Vlogger was born and from that point on, written words were no longer in. What was “In” was taking content that you read online and making a 10-15 minute YouTube video about it and cashing in the money. As we expected, most of the content we had researched or written about for years was up for grabs and many never gave credit and thus the era of the blogger can to an untimely and unjustly end.

So, people like to watch videos, not read. What’s the big deal?

It’s not a big deal at all. Those of us that like reading, this isn’t an issue. However the tech giants do not like independent thought or autonomy. They like to control the flow of information and gatekeep it. So hardly any traffic from these search engines make it to GhostTheory. If you want UFO news, go to Reddit, Twitter, YouTube or TikTok. Crazy right?

Now we have a new issue at hand: Artificial Intelligence.

With ChatGTP on the rise, creating or stealing content just got waaay easier. As I type this, there are thousands of bots that go around creating blog posts by the dozens hundreds of new blogs that have just been created as a “Blog farm”. These groups of fake blogs are only meant to pick up the vestiges of the traffic left behind by the search engine giants. The blogs read like something cut and pasted but somewhat coherent. And this is just done to monetize whatever traffic is left for the bloggers by other people who do not care for the topic, but would rather make passive income from the clicks.

So yeah, I was tired of it. I was tired of it all and wanted nothing to do with it for years. Then one springI was out running on a trail near a local village. This trail took me through some wooded parts and near a small fishing village by the sea. I came across a few people who told me about these strange, bright lights that had scared many in town the previous few nights. Without hesitation, I went back home and called up my friend who speaks Greek and is a sharp translator and by that afternoon we were driving around interviewing the witnesses and inspecting the sites. In that moment, being out in the field taking pictures felt like I had scratched that itch that’s been bothering me for quite some time.

I wrote the article and had fun doing it. It has over 4,000 views and continues to draw in a few curious people a few times a week. But that’s a far cry from the thousands of views we’d get from a single article in a single afternoon. This is why the old format of how GhostTheory operated is no longer viable. It’s not GhostTheory Vs. a reality television show or Ghost Theory Vs. Ghost hunting crews….

No, I don’t want to repeat that. What I want is to tell stories that are fiction and Non-fiction, to have open discussions about things that are related to the paranormal and the unexplained. I want to connect with you, the reader, in a way in which I was not able to before. So if you have made it this far reading this, please know that better things are coming.

After all these years, what’s the Theory?

Well, nowadays we have virtual reality that works alongside Unix operating systems to create “virtual servers” across the globe with a push of a button. We have Artificial Intelligence writing code and helping build networks. It’s here and it’s being adopted by many in the tech field. I used it everyday to get tasks done and automated. The more I use AI, the more I feel almost like it is an extension of my own consciousness to a certain extent. With that, the similarities between the world of the paranormal and the world of the binary are ever more apparent.

Since 2008 we’ve seen the United States government go from “Aliens and Ufos are not real” to “They are real, they are here, and we’re in contact with them.” And it didn’t just stop there…no, we got to learn that all these years the CIA and them were aware that the paranormal and the laws of physics are at some level entangled. Look at the drama with AAWSAP and the SkinWalker Ranch book that came out a few years ago. This is hundreds of millions of our tax money, going from the Pentagon and into research for this stuff, which was once regarded as conspiracy theories for basement-dwellers. Well, we are at a point where somewhere in the world there is an AGI entity with artificial consciousness and free will. This is not ChatGPT (AI), I’m talking at Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and it’s pushing us closer to The Singularity.

Once that happens, once we connect our consciousness to the operating system around us, then how will we distinguish reality from virtual reality? How will we discern magic from physics? The paranormal from the 1s and 0s that flow throughout nature?

I don’t know, but I’m willing to follow that rabbit.

Aren’t you?

There’s this college (an invisible college if you will) that has no students and only eight faculty members. You can’t just sign-up and enroll in a class. In fact, there’s no campus or syllabi to explore. The Invisible College is the name given to the group of scientists and researchers that have band together to take a closer and finer look at the UAP phenomena. The eight men ensemble has been investigating and collecting evidence from across the globe since the 1950s. A lot of that evidence is eyewitness testimony and every so often a photograph or video appears that lends some credibility to the witness accounts. Then there are those rare cases, the ones that contain physical evidence that allows the group to look further into the UAP rabbit hole.

There have been reports of UAPs that appear to jettison a molten metal type of material as they hover of fly above. Take the case of lesser known case of the Muray Island UFO incident. The event occurred on the waters of Puget Sound and it involved a UAP craft dropping molten metal onto a boat, inadvertently killing a dog, breaking a man’s arm, and damaging the vessel. The case is one of the first cases in the United States that talk about molten material being jettisoned from a UAP as well as one of the first recorded cases of visitations from the infamous Men in Black.

Then there was the 1977 incident at Big Lake Park. It involved witnesses seeing a “big round thing hovering in the sky below the treetops” before crashing down behind some tree line. When witnesses arrived at the location, they were expecting to find the crashed object. Instead all they found were piles of what they described as “molten metal covering a six by four foot area and approximately four inches thick.” The material was said to have been of little interest to the local police or military base. The material was collected an analyzed by researchers. It was later determined to be a simple “high-carbon steel of a type common in manufacturing.“

The incident at Big Lake Park allowed the Invisible College to collect and study the metal. The initial conclusion was that it was a high-carbon steel and that it was common byproduct of manufacturers back in the days. Given that there were two foundries in Council Bluff at the time that could have produced the red-hot blob of metal, many believed them to be the source. However they weren’t near the sight of the supposed crash. In fact, there would have been no possible way for someone from one of the foundries to dump the red-hot molten metal without being seen or leaving heavy tracks all over. The only sighting of any vehicle in the area was of the big round thing hovering claimed to have been seen by many witnesses. And that’s were the story ends.

Stories of UAPs ejecting a molten metal type of material when flying or hovering were coming from all over the world. The Invisible College were out there, collecting evidence and interviewing the witnesses. Along with that evidence, the Big Lake Park samples were added to the collection and shelved away. Until recently when Dr. Garry Nolan got his hands on the samples and was asked to analyze the samples which led to him finding out that the metals were common but the isotope ratio wasn’t.

“Some of the objects are nondescript, and just lumps of metal. Mostly, there’s nothing unusual about them except that everywhere you look in the metal, the composition is different, which is odd. It’s what we call inhomogeneous.  That’s a fancy way of saying ‘incompletely mixed.'” -Dr. Nolan, Vice interview.

In one case, a UAP was seen flying in distress way back in 1957. The witnesses from Ubatuba, Brazil, claimed to see the object expel material that resembled molten lava when flying. As the UAP jettisons the material, it gains control and stabilizes before flying away. The samples collected from this case all had altered isotope ratios that cannot be explained.

“The problem is there’s no good reason humans have for altering the isotope ratios of a simple metal like magnesium. There’s no different properties of the different isotopes, that anybody, at least in any of the literature that is public of the hundreds of thousands of papers published, that says this is why you would do that. Now you can do it. It’s a little expensive to do, but you’d have no reason for doing it.” -Dr. Nolan, Vice interview.

“Most of the time humans use isotopes to blow stuff up—uranium or plutonium—or to poison someone, or used as a tracer in order to kill cancer. But those are very, very specific cases. We are almost always only using radioactive isotopes. We don’t ever change the isotope ratios of stable isotopes except perhaps as a tracer.”

“…in some cases the witnesses state that the observed objects appeared unstable, or in some kind of distress. Then, it spits out ‘a bunch of stuff.’ Now the object appears it’s stable and it moves off. It looks like it fixed itself. One hypothesis would be that the material it offloads is part of the mechanism the object uses for moving around, and when things get out of whack, the object has to offload it. It just drops this stuff to the ground, kind of like the exhaust. That begs the question (again assuming the things are real at all): what are they using it for? If there’s altered isotope ratios, are they using the altered isotope ratios? Are the altered ratios the result of the propulsion mechanism?” -Dr. Nolan, Vice interview.

The Invisible College disclosed the UAP information. They disclosed the accounts from the civilian and government witnesses as well as what samples they had collected. The information is there and is disclosed, yet no one is listening.

Probably because it’s not coming from a four-star general or the President in the form of a State of the Union Address. Or because other than eyewitness testimonies we only have pieces of a common metal with different isotope ratios as proof of UAPs. Hardly of any interest to those outside of the Ufology field. There are no little green men being paraded down the White House for everyone to see. That’s what I assume most people who ask for disclosure are looking for.

But it appears that disclosure is coming in unsuspected ways, from unsuspected agencies. Take for example the following video that might be the smoking gun that many of us have been looking for. The Long Beach Police Department video of a UAP ejecting material. Check it out:

The video from the LBPD is from 2004 and shows that appears to be a UAP dumping out some material before flying off at incredible speeds. So fast that the police FLIR camera has a hard time keeping the object in frame.

So when you read cases like the Muray Island UFO incident do you just assume it’s made up? or that the witnesses were confused and what they really saw was a crashing satellite? Because when police departments, Border Patrol, and the Department of Homeland Security start disclosing leaking videos, who’s paying attention?

This is what Ezekiel witnessed on the banks of the Kebar River in ancient Babylon on that fateful day. Heavenly beings, descending from a firestorm within the clouds. Coming down, ignoring Ezekiel as if he wasn’t there at all and glided past him. The entities all were described as having features that were relevant or common in ancient times. Humans, wings, bronze, hooves, legs, hands, lions, oxen, eagles… these were all things that a person living in ancient Babylon would immediately know and be able to identify. Common objects, common sights.

Without getting into the semantics of what these visions were or represented, let’s just move past that and conclude that the man claimed to have witnessed these strange entities. The term “Angel” used to described them came from Ezekiel himself, however it was only after his encounter that he referred to them as cherubim or angels. After exhausting any possible explanation that would satisfy him, he figured that they were manifestation from his god.

When the entities descended, they took on the shapes or forms of things that would be identifiable to a person from that era. Ezekiel himself was known to have all sorts of visions throughout his life. From the cherubim-like creatures to fractal-like visions of wheels within wheels, the man saw it all. Almost as if in a constant state of pyschedelic euphoria. But the man’s recreational activities are not on trial here… What I’m looking at is the overall encounters with the physical wheels, or multi-faced winged beings.

Peruvian officials encounter entity

On August 19th, 2018 there was a strange encounter on a military base in Lima, Peru. Three videos were made public by the military personnel of a supposed encounter with a strange entity that descends and tries to interact with two military officials. According to the investigator, Jois Mantilla, the military base had no qualms in releasing a series of videos taken from several vantage points that show something coming down, approaching the walking officers, and then appears to “fly” away.

Mantilla reported that when he asked, the officials that had the encounter with the entity described it as having features that appeared angelic, almost looking like a little girl. They reported that it tried to get close and touch them but as they pulled away, it quickly rose a few meters above and flew off before morphing into a bright orb.

The video shows something strange, that’s for sure. The object in question does not show the randomness one would expect from a balloon, rather it shows something coming down, avoiding telephone wires and landing ground level. It approaches two walking persons before levitating and flying the other way. I say flying because from looking at the footage, there’s a wing flap in there somewhere. Like I said, strange.

Take a look at the video and pay close attention to the different angle shots.

This is not a post to make an attempt at debunking or proving the video above. Instead, I’m going to focus on the similarity between the claimed sightings.

The men claimed to have seen a light descend from above. It was not human in any sense of the word, but it grew a human-like face. It wasn’t there for them, just like the “cherubim” were not there for Ezekiel. It just so happened that both the military officials and Ezekiel happen to cross paths with something from above.

Strange, otherworldly beings…wheels within wheels…

Doctor and daughter witness strange entity

December 26th, 2018. Dr. Jaime Lune Becerra and his daughter witnessed a strange glowing object float down and behave in a manner similar to that of the alien from the movie The Predator. What he initially believed to be a bunch of balloons with christmas lights attached turned out to be something terrifying and unlike they both had ever seen.

“It was an orb or sphere that came down…I was staring at it for a few minutes when I noticed this thing had these extensions that came out of it, almost like appendages. What I thought were lights weren’t. It was some type of glowing fabric…it morphed into a human form, however when it did it was camouflaged like the monster in the movie The Predator.” – Dr. Jaime Lune Becerra

The video will show the doctor along with his daughter standing in disbelief as the light being glides past, the daughter’s reaction is telling as they both witness the being morph into a humanoid shape and turn semi-translucent.

Again, not trying to debunk or prove anything, just making a comparison on the sightings. In this case, we can see the object changing or morphing the way computer generated fractal images behave.

CCTV captures strange UAP

On February 23rd, 2022 in Mexico there was another strange entity captured on video descending from above and interacting with four dogs. Again, the entity is self-illuminating and appears under intelligent control. Nothing like the randomness of a low floating balloon, but rather in a manner that seems indicative of it searching or scanning for something. The canine witnesses definitely see it and react hostile towards it. Like in the previous video, this one also is recorded from several vantage points.

Watch the entire clip. At almost forty minutes long, the investigator does a wonderful job at analyzing the footage. We can observe the intelligence behind the gliding entity as it appears to change size (morphing fractals?) and light up in an Iridescence manner.

Going back to Peru, another puzzling video emerges. This time from several employees from a gas station that were witnesses to a strange jellyfish-like entity that descended onto the station. When interviewed, many of the employees described it as a biological entity that appeared bioluminescent. The footage shows the entity come down and glide around the gas station. It does a good job at keeping a distance and when the curious employees approach it, the entity ascends as if to get away.

The incredible part of this event is that we then get to see the cellphone video as one of the employee chases after it and films it. We can see that there’s definitely something physical there and it’s moving.

The employee stated that the entity went from gliding to walking on two appendages that resembled legs. It walked with a gait resembling a human and across the busy highway when it suddenly got hit by a passing semi. The witnesses all claimed to have seen it get struck and tossed to the side. It then, according to the employees, rose up and returned to the initial spot where it had been hit.

A case in which another witness was of the canine species comes from a mysterious source. The video has been around for a few years and shows a strange object coming down, hovering above a street before appearing to canvas the area. As the object glides up the street, we see a barking dog come into frame. The dog apparently spotted the object from a distance and come to investigate. Looking at it move, I doubt this is a balloon like many claim. The movements are too smooth and it moves with an obvious trajectory. Unlike the aimless floating around that you would expect a helium balloon to have.

You can describe this thing as some form of flying sentry, or drone. If you’re thinking that I’m sounding a bit too crazy, check out this story from an Indian academic source. On September 27th, 2004 a group of scientist composed of three Space Application Centre (SAC) scientist and two geologists all witnessed a robot-like thing descend near their basecamp. All members of the expedition claimed to have witnessed the entity use its legs to walk around as if searching or scanning the area.

“They were studying the Chandra basin glacier using satellite data. Around 6.45 a.m., as the scientists were preparing to leave their tents, one of the porters spotted a white object on top of an adjacent mountain ridge, and screamed: “Sir, the snow man is coming.”
Anil Kulkarni, a senior ISRO scientist who has been mapping glaciers for a quarter century, and his team members saw what appeared to be a robot floating a few inches above the ground, approaching the camp along the mountain slope. Kulkarni and his co-researcher, geologist Sunil Dhar, pulled out their digital cameras and began shooting the object even as the team raced towards the mountain to investigate.
The oblong object, between 3 and 4 ft high, kept moving down the slope towards the team. It had a cylindrical head with two balloon-type attachments, a body, hands and two legs. It seemed to be walking, planting and pacing its steps like a human being, recalls Dhar.” – IndiaToday

It’s apparent that whatever we see in this grainy video is not a balloon. If it were, it would not have demanded the amount of attention the witness in the video displayed. Nor would it morph into a humanoid shape with what appeared to have a head, according to the person watching the video. Again, whether this is real or not is not the point. There are things being reported that are coming down from the sky and behaving in strange manners. Morphing into humanoid shapes or into balls of light. These things are said to grow legs and walk at times, or appear solid and quietly glide about as if on a recon mission.

This video is supposedly from Turkey. There is little to no information on the web about it but it does show what appears to be the same types of “sentry” type of object like we saw in that video floating through some sleepy streets before encountering a barking dog.

There are a lot more videos like these being uploaded onto the internet at an alarming rate. What are these things? Are they related to the UAP/Navy and Customs and Border Patrol reports? Are they biological or mechanical? Why do some people report seeing them morph into robots and others report seeing them morph into an anthropomorphic form or that of a creature known to man like the jellyfish?

Tales from the Southwestern desert

And here’s where I deviate a little from the course of this article. I’m in my early to mid 40s and when I was a teenager my parents claimed to have had an encounter with a strange creature in the Californian High Desert. I remember it clearly…I had been having trouble sleeping for a few days during some muggy summer nights. I began to sleep with my window open to let in some cool breeze but our dogs kept barking and making noise. I was dead tired so I poked my head out the window and yelled at them to be quiet. I noticed that all three of our dogs were in a frightened and alerted state. They were staring directly across the road from us, into a dark empty field. My dogs were acting strange though. One of them kept lunging forward, snarling at something in the dark. I couldn’t see anything but they were definitely on edge. I figured there were coyotes or other dogs nearby and I was too tired to care, so I went back to bed.

A few hours later, around 4:00 AM I woke up to the sound of my dad’s car pulling out the driveway on his way to work. I heard the engine come around the house and then stop and sit idling. He had positioned the car in a parallel manner, facing the empty field and cut on his high beams. I was confused at why he would do this and sat up on my bed when all of a sudden my mother came running into my room. She was saying something about an ‘alien standing outside’.

What she told us was that her and my father were asleep and were woken up by the barking dogs. My dad grabbed his flashlight and pointed it out the window and across the road. That’s when they both saw this ghost-like figure that had a ‘light necklace’ around its neck. The shape, my mother described, was like that of sheeted ghost. However they both claimed that when my dad illuminated it with the flashlight, the creature began to ascend. They said that it “flew up, flying like a jellyfish…” Meaning that as it rose, it was undulating the way a jellyfish would in water. They swore to us that what they saw was real and unlike anything they have ever seen before. I cannot attest to any of this, but the look in their eyes and their identical description of the thing was uncanny.

Getting back on course, we have seen videos of these entities taking all sorts of shapes and forms and display intelligent flight paths, nothing like the randomness of a untethered balloon would have. I conclude this article with the infamous video that started it all.

The very first post on this website was back in January 26th, 2008. It is titled “Flying Humanoids of Mexico” and it contains the first video that was uploaded online that depicts one of these strange entities. The “Mexican Bruja” video as it came to be known, was initially translated by GhostTheory and made public with the help of the famous Mexican researcher Ana Luisa Cid. It’s one of my favorite cases regarding this phenomena. Not just because it was the first video to be uploaded to the web which showed such object, but because of the encounter that the local police had with this strange thing. It all begins with the story of Officer Samaniego and his horrifying account as to what transpired when he was out on patrol and crossed paths with a hostile entity.

“Officer Leonardo Samaniego of Guadalupe reported being physically attacked by one of these beings. Officer Samaniego (visibly shaking in the video right after the encounter) claims that while on patrol in his vehicle, the entity fell from a tree and onto the hood of the vehicle. The officer describes the entity as having female traits. He also describes as it having large eyes and dark skin. Wearing what appeared to be a cloak. He then claims that the entity placed it’s hand on the windshield and after that point he passed out. He only remembers waking up in his patrol car. Shirt and vest disheveled. He called in for backup and medical assistance. Camera crews were there to capture the aftermath.” – Flying entities of Mexico, GhostTheory

From scientists to armchair researchers, from home security cameras to multimillion dollar FLIR cameras, these things are being recorded around the globe and there is little to no explanation as to what they are. It looks like when there is some type of contact, the objects appear to morph or transform in real-time into something that we as humans might recognize nowadays. Witches, robots, light orbs, drones, marine creatures, humans.

Look at the incident at the military base in Peru. The officials both claimed that the being had an “angelic face, like that of a little girl.” Or how the Indian scientist all saw an orb of light that turned into a humanoid robot. When they photographed it, it was only visible as a strange light spectre. So we take the witnesses word for what it is.

Just like the visions of Ezekiel, these modern day humans are all reporting seeing amorphous beings all taking part of what seems to be a reconnaissance mission. Reconnaissance for what exactly? who knows. However that feeling of being watched by the phantoms above your has probably returned by now as you’ve reach the end of this article.

Look around you. Look up. Because sometimes they descend.

Lizard People

This is what Mr. Christos Tarsinos told me, as he looked to his son for confirmation. The boy, barely 15 years-old, nodded in agreement. His father then continued: “I was scared. The lights were bright and so close to our car. Then they flew past us and hovered near some houses on a hill before going into the woods. That’s when I heard a mechanical sound…like drilling or hammering.” Mr. Tarsinos said.

I met Mr. Tarsinos at a small restaurant near the location of the sighting. It has been two weeks since the sighting but you could still see the uneasiness on his face. “What was it? Do you know?” he asked me. I told him and his son that I was writing an article on the sighting since it had been witnessed by dozens of other villagers. I also happen to live near the area and wanted to get some answers from the sources and not media. This is how Mr. Tarsinos’ story went:

On the evening of March 10th, 2022, Mr. Tarsinos and his son were driving via some backroads into the small town of Lygourio, Greece. It was getting darker by the hour as they sped down the desolate road. Off in the distance, from what appeared to be the top of a mountain, descended six bright lights. They were lined up horizontally and moved in a uniformed manner. At first glance, Mr. Tarsinos believed it to be a low flying helicopter. However as he pointed the lights out to his son, they both saw the lights drop down from the top of the mountain to about a few meters above the road in front of them. 

“I told my dad that it was too big to be a drone, and I knew it wasn’t a helicopter. They were so bright and scary.” his son added. “The lights were different colors. The first two were red, the second two were white, and the last pair were greenish in color…”

The boy was still clearly still agitated by what he and his father had experienced just a few weeks ago. Hoping to calm the boy down, I said: “It could be a lot of things, let’s go check out the location.“

Location

The Ligouriou Neas Epidavrou was the ancient route between the villages and the theatre of Epidavors and the Temple of Asklepios. It connects the main towns of Argos, Nafplio, Lygourio as well as dozens of smaller villages. The route eventually leads you down to the waters of the Saronic Gulf.

Mr. Tarsinos and his son were heading west bound on Ligouriou Neas Epidavrou road. From their village of Dimaina, the two were heading to Lygourio’s pharmacy to buy N95 masks for his son during the COVID outbreak. Just minutes into their drive, the pair spotted the bright lights coming from the top of the mountains that surround the villages. The lights descended from the direction of near the ruins of the Temple of Hera (in the Peloponnese).

The UAP appeared to be heading east/south as it approached the compact-sized car. The lights descended onto the Ligouriou Neas Epidavrou road and hovered briefly before flying directly at the car. The occupants, both father and son, were frozen in fear as the lights hovered above their moon roof, bathing them in a blinding white light.

“It was so bright, we couldn’t see our hands in front of us.” The boy said. “I thought we were going to die.”

Sighting

Mr. Tarsinos described watching as the lights approached his car and hovered for what appeared to be a few seconds. They then made a right turn towards the small (about 5 houses scattered across two small hill tops) village of Anastasopouleika. He stopped his car and stepped outside to get a better view. This is where Mr. Tarsinos stated seeing a light come down from the craft and shine down on the village. “It was a bright tube of light…it appeared to shine down on the houses for a minute or two, as if looking for something. The lights were low, about 15-20 meters or so above the roofs. They then moved down towards the old, abandoned quarry. The UFO, or whatever it was, hovered above the quarry for a few more minutes.” At that point he told me that his view was obstructed mainly by the small hills that surround the road.

“We couldn’t see the lights anymore but we could hear them doing something. A loud mechanical sound started to come from behind those hills. It sounded like some type of hammering or drilling…it was mechanical in nature I can tell you that.” Mr. Tarsinos was spooked. His son kept pleading with him to get back in the car and head into town. “We were scared…what was it? I had no clue. So we just drove off as the lights seemed to go back behind the hills.”

The boy then added: “But we did call the authorities…and they did come out.”

Police Investigate

The phone call was made to the Nafplio Police Ministry as soon as they got back on the road by a panicked Mr. Tarsinos. “I told them what we saw and I asked them if they knew anything about any military activity in the area. They told me that they new nothing about any type of training or military activity in the area.”

Mr. Tarsinos filed the report and focused his attention on the road. He said that he kept looking through his rearview, expecting to catch a glimpse of the lights but there was nothing. They both ran into the pharmacy a bit excited. They told their story to the pharmacy owner, a man who’d known the Tarsinos for decades. As they paid for their N95 masks, Mr. Tarsinos decided to call the police for an update.

“They told me to hold on for a second. Then another voice came on the phone and explained to me that he was with the special task force in the department. They asked me if I could meet them near the area this happened. It was late and I had to get my son home and ready for school but he then said something to make me change my mind. He said: ‘We’ve been receiving a lot of calls about the lights you reported, and they tell us that the lights you saw are still there. So we we are on our way out there and are wondering if you and your son don’t mind?’ That is what the police detective told me. So what could I say?”

Mr. Tarsinos and his son arrived near the location of their encounter. It was near a small roadside church (Εκκλησία Άγιος Ιωάννης), where Mr. Tarsinos had asked the detectives to meet him and his son. “When we got there, the police were already there. Two male and one female detective from Nafplio…all three of them had a serious look.” As soon as they stepped out of their vehicle and approached the group, Mr. Tarsinos and his son saw the lights off in the distance. The lights appeared to move in between the tall pines that carpet the northwestern side of Epidavros’ Akros Mountain.

“We all just stood there for a minute, watching these lights go in and out, in and out of the trees.” Tarsinos and his son then proceeded to tell them the entire encounter they had earlier on the road. “That’s when we were joined by the mayor and others. There were several other cars that drove up to our location near the church…most of them were neighbors or other villagers who had seen the lights.” He then continued: “The mayor was there and he talked to the police for awhile while we all just stared at these far away lights. They were still up on those mountains, going between the trees as if they were looking for something…”

Villagers witness the lights

Since the first reported sighting by Mr. Tarsinos, the lights had been flying and hovering over the valley of Epidavros for well over two hours. Some of them had called into the local police station to ask about the strange lights shining down from above, only to come out and see a mob of people pointing up towards the dark skies. Some even took photographs of the lights as they had receded back into the forests of mount Akros.

When I asked him, Mr. Tarsinos lamented on not having an adequate cell phone to have been able to capture a decent photograph. “Look, it can barely send an SMS.” He then pulled out an old Motorola cell phone. “I didn’t get any but we saw people using their cell phones to take a few. The police were also photographing it from a distance.” he added.

Some of the photographs were submitted to the Greek website Anagnostis.org and show what appear to be a bright light source on top of a small hill. According to Mr. Tarsinos, there was talk amongst the crowd about how many had seen the lights hover over the small houses on the hill top. Many said that they had seen the lights descend down from the mountains (just like Mr. Tarsinos and his son had reported seeing) and hover and fly over the area as if looking or scanning for something.

“By the time everyone was out there, you can barely see the lights in the distance. There was definitely no mechanical sounds, just quiet.” Tarsinos said.

The initial conversation and meeting between the detectives and Mr. Tarsinos had yielded very little information as to what these lights could have been. From what was gathered, it was impossible for this UAP/UFO to have been a drone. According to the witnesses, the lights were about one meter in diameter and separated by at least three meters between the pairs. Red, white, and green were the colors seen by many and said to have been at least the size of a small bus.

By around one o’clock in the morning, the excitement had died down. The lights had not been visible for over an hour and the crowd was getting restless. They looked towards the officials present to provide some sort of explanation as to what these silent, multi-colored lights were. However according to Mr. Tarsinos, the mayor and detectives were just as dumbfounded as the rest of the late-night witnesses.

When I spoke to Mr. Tarsinos, he told me that by around midnight, a reporter had made it out to the scene and began asking questions and interviewing the police. “There was a flood of interest in the first 24 or 48 hours I would say…then it just kinda died down. No one really talked about it or offered any follow up or explanation as to what it was that we saw that night.”

Visited before

A month after the interview with Mr. Tarsinos, I had spoken with a friend of mine in the area about the sighting. We wondered if there were other witnesses that had seen the lights up close and had not come forward yet, given the stigma of the UFO/UAP topic. So using her as my translator we headed up to the village of Anastasopouleika to see if I could gather any other information.

The village where the UAP hovered above and beamed down “…a bright tube of light.” was nothing more than a handful of cottages peppered across a couple of small hills. There were not more than three or four families that lived in that village. We went around asking those who were working outside if they had seen or heard anything in the recent weeks.

Surprisingly every single person we talked to denied having heard anything about the incident. They said that they had not seen any strange lights and had no idea what we were talking about. Something that I found strange since the houses had little to no outside lighting. The area is extremely dark after sundown so any bright light source that would shine from above (especially at an altitude of just a few meters) would seem impossible to not notice. however we didn’t press on. We started to get the feeling that the villagers did not want to be bothered by any of this and started getting cold shoulders and icy stares.

Another week went by when I received a call from my friend, the translator. She said that she had ran into a man who claims to have seen the lights near his house since the winter months. That he worked as a ranch hand near the area of mount Akros and had been seeing these lights come in and out of the forest for a few months. We scheduled an interview with this witness but they wished to not be photographed or named due to legal matters.

In a small coffee shop I met with “George”. George had been working as a farmer/ranch hand for over a decade in the area. After exchanging pleasantries, I came to find out that his boss is a good friend of mine. So immediately his guard drops a bit and George begins to relax more around us as he begins to open up. “I’ve seen those lights before, way before this recent sighting.” He said in a gravelly voice. “They’re mainly out there at dusk, when the sun is going down…that’s when we see them. They fly in and disappear into the trees, like the lights just turn off.”

The ranch that George works at is only about three or four kilometers from the village of Anastasopouleika and only about one or two kilometers from the old quarry. The other place where Mr. Tarsinos said that he saw the lights hover above. “We don’t know what they are, but they come in from the north, north-west side of the mountain and go into the trees. We can see them glow from behind the tree lines, really strange.” George continued.

I asked George if he had see the lights up close or if he could describe to me what they looked like. He answered: “No, we didn’t see them up close. We can just see them from a kilometer or two away, up in the mountains. Just bright lights that fly around the trees, around the mountains and then disappear. We don’t know where they go.”

I asked him about the “We” part and he mentioned and he’s seen them at night, when he takes his children into town for their dance lessons. “It’s mainly at night, when it starts getting dark that we’ve seen these lights. My kids and I have seen them several times. And so far, it was only this last winter…really strange.”

Aftermath

Almost a year after the mass UFO sighting in Epidavros, there are still talks around town about what those lights were that many witnessed one cold night in March of 2022. A few murmurs here and there, claims of other sightings in the area, and even explanations as to the lights being military drones are heard from time to time. However there’s still no official explanation as to what those hovering lights were. There has been no explanation or instance of that mechanical hammering sound that Mr. Tarsinos and his son said they heard when watching the lights move from village, to quarry, and to finally hide away in the dense forests of Epidavros.

“I’m not crazy…” Mr. Tarsinos added. “I know what we saw and what we saw was not military or any type of drone. It was too big, too silent and hovered for hours. I have been made fun of by many people, including people in the media now that this story got out. I didn’t want any of this attention, it’s brought nothing to us but heartache.” He looked at his son and put his hand on his shoulder.

“Tell me…you study these things, you have contacts in the field…in America…what were these lights? Why us?” He asked me. I looked at both Mr. Tarsinos and his son square in the eyes and answered the best I could.

“I really don’t know…” I said.

Strange lights over Hellas

The unidentified lights were first spotted flying over central Greece. As the reports state, around this time there were a dozen or more of these crafts flying across the sky. They were seen flying near Mount Pentelicus and heading north, past the city of Thessaloniki. At some point, the crafts changed course and headed south towards the Peloponnese region. It was here that, once again, they switched course and headed back towards central Greece. At this point, one of the UFOs appeared to change colors and began flying erratically. As the objects approached the village of Atalanti, the UFO in trouble descended at a rapid rate and eventually crashed on the southern part of the small hill named Tympristos (or Tymfristos), which is situated a few kilometers outside Megaplatanos. A small church, know as the church of Prophet Elias, sits on the peak of this hill, overlooking the village. Just meters away from the church is where the object was said to have crashed. This was around 9:30 P.M. on a Sunday night.

Those who saw these objects, mentioned seeing them dip down from the sky towards the downed UFO and shoot back up into the sky. To some, it appeared as if they were operating in an organized recovery mission.

A family bares witness

The Karadratu family first saw the bright lights illuminating the dark sky for about fifteen minutes. They then heard three loud explosions before noticing that one of the flying objects had grown brighter and closer than the rest. To them, it looked as if it was damaged or was on fire as they watched it crash about a kilometer away from their home. “After falling, the object made black smoke, like that of burning tires. After a while, the other objects descended near the grounded craft and landed around it, as if encircling it.” The lights of the other objects were so bright that they illuminated part of the hill.

“We were standing there, watching. My husband and I went closer for a better look. He could see movement in front of the burning object, like shadows that passed back and forth but we could not discern if they were human or something else. They (the shadows) did something in the bright circle that formed around the big object. They stayed there from about 10 o’clock sunday until about 3 A.M. Monday.“

According to Mrs. Karadratu, they only felt comfortable getting closer to the crash site once the sun had come up. When they did investigate, they came upon an area with scorched earth and few scorched pine trees. One of those trees had its lower trunk scorched as well. When Mr. Karadratu touched the tree, his had blistered up within seconds. Where it appeared that the impact had been, they both saw two small holes in the ground. Near or inside the holes, the Karadratus found a strange small circular object with what appeared to be two antennas on it. It also had engraved on it a symbol resembling a lightning bolt.

The Karadratus reported seeing beings from a distance, but were not able to confirm if they were human or not since they were about a kilometer away and the bright lights and fire made it almost impossible to discern certain anatomical features. However they knew that these beings or shadows were moving around the damaged craft in a hasty manner.

Police and scientists investigate

The Fthiotida Police was soon on the scene. The word had spread throughout the village of strange lights and possible crash near the church of Prophet Elias. Upon initial investigation of the scene, they could only observe what appeared to be remnants of a brush fire. When the police confronted the Karadratus, who had been on the scene since early that morning, they were given the circular object which they had found.

Besides the scorched earth and the object given to them by the Karadratus, the director of the police department, Mr. Panetsos, found no indication that there had been an actual downed aircraft. He enlisted the help of the deputy prosecutor, Mr. Zisimopoulos, who requested a full investigation of the supposed crash site. From this, various other metals were recovered, none of them were any bigger than 12 centimeters. The items were shipped off to the Tanagra Air Forice Base which is located about 90 kilometers south of the crash scene.

The Tanagra AFB concluded that they items “were not worth anything” and that they probably were pieces from an old fighter jet. However the Air Force Research & Technology Center (KETA-ETHM) visited the site and came up with a different conclusion. On October 19th, 1990, their report on the incident stated:

“We certify that the object in question burned grass and shrubs within a radius of 200 meters. The debris collected was as follows: Pieces of an 11cm diameter female plug made of copper and with Arabic numerals in its center. A series of copper multipin cables, connected to the aforementioned plug. The insulation of these cables was made of silk, such as cloth and teflon. A burnt rubber circular cover. A steel ring. Three 10cm steel bars each. At the bottom two regulators with the Greek letter F at their base. The debris found was of earthly origin, given that there were numerical and alphabetical indications. It was old technology, possible pieces of an old satellite. This conclusion was based on measurements, wiring and construction. The satellite must be from Europe or the former Soviet Union, as only in these parts of the world is the metric system in meters and centimeters. On the letter F, it is from the Soviet Union since that country uses this Greek letter in its Cyrillic alphabet and also has the technology for such a device.“

A botched investigation

Many Greek Ufologists rejected the theories of a downed satellite or that the metals were pieces of an old jet fighter plane. Socrates Ekaterinidis was one of them. He wrote in several publications and spoke out about the incident in several Greek radio interviews. He argued that KETA-ETHM’s claim of a downed satellite had no evidence since there had been no wreckage found or even a small impact crater. He also argued that the Air Force Base had omitted the fact that one of the objects had a strange lightning bolt insignia on it. Why they had omitted this finding further added to his speculation of a military cover-up or shoddy investigative work. As for the Greek letter F that was on the metal objects, Mr. Ekaterinidis claims that the police did not see any type of lettering on the metals.

To add to the mix-match of information, the director of the Astronomical institute of the National Observatory of Athens released a statement claiming that this was nothing more than a meteor crash. Mr. Makris never set foot on the site or investigated any witnesses or police records. Yet he released the following statement:

“These are not just extraterrestrials. At this time (September 1990) the orbit of the Earth passes near a flock of meteors, the so-called Persians. These meteorites, as they enter the Earth’s atmosphere at a height of about one hundred kilometers, due to their high speed, develop a high friction and ignite. So the world sees flashes. When it comes to meteors, they may be artificial satellites. As many pieces of the satellite are destroyed, they also ignite in the atmosphere. Finally, the phenomena may also be due to abnormal refractions or reflections in the atmosphere from lights on the earth. Even the lights of a range of cars can cause such a spectacular sight. Everything else is devoid of seriousness and is due to fantasy or group hysteria.“

When asked by several UFO investigators, the Atalanti police mentioned that no investigating group ever took the testimonies of the dozens of people that witnessed the strange UFO lights and crash near the village of Megaplatanos. From what is known, only a few photographs taken by the police and karadratu family have been made public.

The Greek Roswell

Unlike the 1947 incident at Roswell, New Mexico, the supposed UFO crash in Greece had almost no press coverage. This makes researching the case difficult as none of the original UFO investigators have shared their findings with the rest of the world. Greece, with its ancient splendor and rich historical and cultural accomplishments, has yet to fully embrace the modern age era. It’s the place I now call my home.

I moved to this country not too long ago, having lived in Los Angeles and New York City for many years. I do see this unwillingness to catch up with modern times as both a positive and negative. So it’s easy to see how in 1990 information about the supposed UFO sightings and crash could have been buried deep and forgotten over time. Most people that I’ve talked with about the crash in Megaplatanos had no idea that such event took place. Coming from a country with certain freedoms like the FOIA (Freedom Of Information Act) and freedom of the press, it’s a bit of a culture shock. I say this because the only information about this incident comes from some of the villagers that still live in Megaplatanos and remember that one September day in 1990 when the night was illuminated by strange lights across the Greek skies.
