Add the essential oil. Add one or two drops of red food coloring if you'd like it pink! Mix very well to make sure the color is evenly dispersed. Add the jojoba oil and Castile soap next, a little at a time, stirring after each addition. Mix well and the pour into clean container. To use, stand in the tub or shower and massage the sugar scrub onto your skin. Rinse.

ALMOND BODY SCRUB

2/3 cup ground almonds

1/3 cup oatmeal

1/2 teaspoon of herbs (lavender, chamomile, etc) (optional) Plain yogurt, milk, or buttermilk, sufficient to make a paste

Essential Oils for scent (optional)

Combine the dry ingredients in a blender or food processor until they are reduced to a coarse meal. Keep this "scrub base" in a glass jar with a screw top in your refrigerator until ready to use. When you want to use the scrub base, scoop out 1/4 cup into a small bowl, and stir in enough of the liquid ingredients (vary it by what you have on hand -- yogurt and milk are best, but water works) to make a paste. Yogurt and milk are natural exfoliates known as alpha hydroxy acids, and they will slough off dead skin cells even without the scrub. So get in your kitchen and begin to make your own scrubs.

Coffee Body Scrub

2 cups of coarsely ground coffee
1/2 cup raw sugar or sea salt
2-3 T massage oil
Mix all ingredients together. Take a hot shower to moisten your skin and open your pores. Using wide, circular motions, rub the coffee exfoliant onto your skin with strong, even pressure. Shower off, pat skin dry, and apply a thin layer of your favorite body lotion.

Moisturizing Body Scrub

1/2 cup liquid glycerin
1/2 cup water
2 1/2 to 3 cups sugar or salt (white sugar, brown sugar, or table salt)
1 teaspoon solid coconut butter or solid coconut oil
6 drops of essential oil of your choice, or combine several (not to exceed 6 drops)
Combine glycerin, water, and one cup of sugar or table salt until the salt/sugar has mostly dissolved. Add the remainder of the sugar/salt until you have a rather pasty mixture, at a consistency you prefer. Meanwhile, melt the coconut butter or oil in a small container, in your microwave. MELT, but do not overheat. Stir the melted coconut oil into your sugar mixture, and stir well. Last, add the six drops of essential oils of your choice, stirring to blend. Melt and add more coconut butter or oil to reach your desired consistency. Transfer your mixture to an airtight container or jar, and cool until slightly thickened. Use as an after shower or after bath moisturizing body scrub.

Glycerin and Honey Sugar Scrub

1 cup fine loose salt or loose sugar
3 teaspoons liquid glycerin
1 teaspoon pure honey
3-5 drops of your favorite essential oil
Optional: Pinch of lavender blossoms (available in the bulk department of good health food stores), or chamomile, or dried herbs of your choice, chopped exceedingly fine.

Mix ingredients well and store in an airtight container. Add more liquid ingredients if you prefer a thinner end-product. Stir thoroughly before use. This keeps very well, and in fact, the honey acts as preservative. Use small amounts when scrubbing the nose, being careful not to irritate or get it in the eyes. Scrub elbows, hands, knees, and feet. Rinse in warm water, pat dry, and apply your favorite lotion afterward

See What's Hot In Makeup

How to Prevent Acne

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 112px; height: 160px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ZmZCmMdNh_o/SVyt4J1rapI/AAAAAAAAAdg/vR9IY1sp-ZU/s320/th_WORSTACNEEVER.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286291242851461778" />Many young people as well as older adults suffer from Acne. There is really no “cure” for acne and one can only take measures to help prevent acne. Acne is a condition of clogged pores caused by overactive oil glands. This usually occurs in puberty and can continue into adulthood in some cases. There are some measures you can take to prevent acne or at least keep its severity to a minimum:

· Make sure that you keep your skin clean. Wash regularly. Washing regularly helps to get rid of the excess oil on your skin plus bacteria and dead skin cells that can clog pores and cause outbreaks.

· Get the proper amount of rest. Your body restores and refreshes skin cells while you are resting. Teenagers are notorious for not getting enough rest but it is essential in helping to prevent acne.

· Don’t squeeze or pick at pimples because this has the risk of producing a more severe infection.

· After you exercise take a shower so that the sweat does not contribute to clogging your pores and producing another acne outbreak. Make sure if you exercise at college, university, at work, there are shower facilities. You do not want to wait hours after exercise before getting a shower.

· Wear clean white t-shirts to help keep acne off your back. The white t-shirts tend to absorb the excess oils in your skin and will help to prevent acne on your back at least.

· Take off any makeup before going to bed. Again, the key here is to keep your pores clear of oil and bacteria and help prevent acne outbreaks.

· Don’t use oil-based sunscreen or skin lotions if you have a tendency for acne outbreaks. These will only contribute to the problem.

· After washing, you can also use a cleaning solution on your skin containing what is known as Salicylic Acid. Only use a 2% solution. This can be found in some acne cleaning pad products.

The most important key to preventing acne outbreaks is to keep your pores clear. Clogged pores are the main cause of acne.

Adam Smith is co-owner of HowToAll, a site with information on how to get things done. Drink several glasses of water a day as it helps your body to flush away any impurities from the kidney and bloodstream and imparts moisture to the skin.
Eat lots of fruits and vegetables especially greens which contains vitamin A and minerals.
Get plenty of exercise, especially walking in the fresh air.

If you insist on using sweeteners in your daily diet, try brown sugar, honey or molasses.

When all of these essentials are in operation you can then bring out your natural beauty by turning to the kitchen to make natural products minus the harsh chemicals found in your commercial products.

If you have cracked heels, melt paraffin wax; mix it with little mustard oil and apply on the affected area. Leave it overnight. After 10 or 15 days, your heels will become smooth.

Remove scars on your hands and feet by rubbing them with lemon peel.
To reduce puffiness of your eyes, grate a potato; tie in a cloth and place the cloth over your eyes for about 15 minutes.
Place cotton wool swabs dipped in cold milk on closed eyes for removing dark circles.

Apply the juice of lemon skin for avoiding black colour of lips

To loosen blackheads, mix equal quantities of baking soda and water and rub gently on face for 2-3 minutes rinse with warm water or mix 2 tbsp cornmeal with water to make a thick paste, apply to face and then rinse.

Cut a seedless grape in half, gently crush it on your face and neck. Leave for 20 minutes and rinse with tepid water. Good for crows feet and lines around the mouth.

Make a solution of one part of onion juice with two parts of vinegar. Rub onto the affected skin several times a day. Within a few weeks this treatment will remove liver spots.

Mix two cupfuls of apple cider vinegar with a tablespoon of honey. This makes a good cooling sunburn lotion.

Honey can be used to smooth rough hands and is said to delay the aging process if a little is smoothed into the skin every night before bed.

Put 1 cup warm water in a bowl, add 1denture tablet.Soak hands for 10 minutes, rinse with warm water to whiten nails.
Harden nails by soaking in warm olive oil every 2 days.

Mince 10 cloves of garlic and mix with 150m1 (6f1 oz) of castor oil. Cover and leave for 48 hours. Strain the liquid into a bottle. This scalp cleanser should be massaged into the scalp with the finger-tips. Wrap the head in a warm towel and leave for about one hour. Afterwards shampoo the hair thoroughly
Massage herb or lavender vinegar into the scalp before washing the hair. Repeat this several times each week until dandruff clears.

Add a small pinch of salt in water and wash for bright and sparkling eyes.

Welcome to Gi-beauty

This blog has come about because of my long struggle with many cosmetics which I used that affected me adversely and I did not even realize it.
