Main article: Politics of Egypt

Egypt has been officially named a "Republic" since June 18, 1953. However, it has been under Emergency Law continually since 1967 (with the exception of an 18-month break in 1980).[clarification needed] Since 1981, Egypt has been ruled autocratically by Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, who came to power after the assassination of President Mohammed Anwar El-Sadat.[42] Mubarak is currently serving his fifth term in office (28 years). Mubarak is the leader of the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP). Prime Minister Ahmed Shafik was sworn in as Prime Minister on January 29, 2011, following the resignation of Ahmed Nazif.

Although power is nominally organized under a multi-party semi-presidential system, whereby the executive power is theoretically divided between the President and the Prime Minister, in practice it rests almost solely with the President who traditionally has been elected in single-candidate elections for more than fifty years. Egypt also holds regular multi-party parliamentary elections. The last presidential election, in which Mubarak won a fifth consecutive term, was held in September 2005. In 2009, Dr. Ali El Deen Hilal Dessouki, Media Secretary of the NDP, described Egypt as a "pharaonic" political system, and democracy as a "long term goal". Dessouki also stated that "the real center of power in Egypt is the military".[43]

In late February 2005, Mubarak announced in a surprise television broadcast that he had ordered the reform of the country's presidential election law, paving the way for multi-candidate polls in the upcoming presidential election. For the first time since the 1952 movement, the Egyptian people had an apparent chance to elect a leader from a list of various candidates. The President said his initiative came "out of my full conviction of the need to consolidate efforts for more freedom and democracy."[44] However, the new law placed restrictions on the candidates, designed to prevent well-known politicians such as Ayman Nour from standing against Mubarak, and paved the road for his easy re-election victory.[45]
Mohammad Hosni Mubarak

After the 2005 presidential elections observers alleged government interference in the election process through fraud and vote-rigging, and police brutality and violence by pro-Mubarak supporters against opposition demonstrators.[46] After the election, Mubarak imprisoned Ayman Nour, and the U.S. government stated the "conviction of Mr. Nour, the runner-up in Egypt's 2005 presidential elections, calls into question Egypt's commitment to democracy, freedom, and the rule of law."[47]

Most Egyptians are skeptical about the process of democratization and the intent of the election rules. Less than 25 percent of the country's 32 million registered voters (out of a population of more than 72 million) turned out for the 2005 elections.[48]

Thirty-four constitutional changes voted on by parliament on March 19, 2007 prohibit parties from using religion as a basis for political activity; allow the drafting of a new anti-terrorism law to replace the emergency legislation in place since 1981, authorize broad police powers of arrest and surveillance; give the president power to dissolve parliament; and end judicial election monitoring.[49] Opposition members of parliament abstained from voting on the proposed changes. Only 27% of registered voters turned out under heavy police presence and tight political control. It was officially announced on March 27, 2007 that 75.9% of those who participated in the referendum approved the constitutional amendments. The results were endorsed by the rump parliament, thus allowing the introduction of laws that curb the activity of opposition elements, particularly Islamists.

The Egyptian military receives billions of dollars of aid from the United States. It remains Egypt's most powerful institution. It has dozens of factories manufacturing weapons as well as consumer goods, and it exempts itself from laws that apply to other sectors.[42]

Mubarak is reportedly unlikely to stand for office when his present term expires in 2011. It was previously assumed that his successor would be his son Gamal and as the governing party's candidate, he was all but certain to ascend to power, but the civil unrest of January 2011 makes that now unlikely.(See link at top of page). The real struggle for power used to occur behind the scenes since the NDP candidate all but certainly would become president. The Egyptian military could work behind the scenes to prevent Mubarak's succession if he were not already ousted.[42]

The CIA World Factbook states that the legal system is based on Islamic and civil law (particularly Napoleonic codes); and that judicial review takes place by a Supreme Court, which accepts compulsory ICJ jurisdiction only with reservations.[citation needed]
This article documents a current event. Information may change rapidly as the event progresses.

On 25 January 2011, widespread protests began against Mubarak's regime. By 29 January it was becoming clear that Mubarak's regime had lost control when a curfew order was ignored, and the army took a semi-neutral stance on enforcing the curfew decree. Some protesters, a very small minority in Cairo, expressed nationalistic views against what they deemed was foreign interference, highlighted by the then held view that the U.S. administration had failed to take sides, as well as linking the regime with Israel.[50]
Foreign relations
Main article: Foreign relations of Egypt
Mubarak in the G8 Summit in Italy 2009

Egypt's foreign policy is supported by its population size, historical events, military strength, diplomatic expertise and a strategic geographical position. It has extensive political influence in Africa and the Middle East. Cairo has been a crossroads of regional commerce and culture for centuries, and its intellectual and Islamic institutions are at the center of the region's social and cultural development.

The permanent Headquarters of the Arab League are located in Cairo and the Secretary General of the Arab League has traditionally been Egyptian. Former Foreign Minister Amr Moussa is the current group's Secretary General. The Arab League briefly moved from Egypt to Tunis in 1978 to protest the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty, returning in 1989.

Egypt was the first Arab state to establish diplomatic relations with Israel, with the signing of the treaty. Despite the peace treaty, Israel is still largely considered an enemy country within Egypt.[51] Egypt has historically played an important role as a mediator in resolving disputes between various Arab states, and in the Israeli-Palestinian dispute. The Egyptian Armed forces have a combined troop strength of around 450,000 active personnel.[53] According to the Israeli chair of the former Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Yuval Steinitz, the Egyptian Air Force has roughly the same number of modern warplanes as the Israeli Air Force and far more Western tanks, artillery, anti-aircraft batteries and warships than the IDF.[54]

The Egyptian military has recently undergone massive military modernization mostly in their Air Force. Egypt is speculated by Israel to be the first country in the region with a spy satellite, EgyptSat 1, and is planning to launch 3 more satellites (DesertSat1, EgyptSat2, DesertSat2) over the next two years.[55]
Egyptian culture flourished during this long period and remained distinctively Egyptian in its religion, arts, language and customs. The first two ruling dynasties of a unified Egypt set the stage for the Old Kingdom period, c. 2700−2200 BC., famous for its many pyramids, most notably the Third Dynasty pyramid of Djoser and the Fourth Dynasty Giza Pyramids.
The Great Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza, built during the Old Kingdom, are modern national icons that are at the heart of Egypt's thriving tourism industry.

The First Intermediate Period ushered in a time of political upheaval for about 150 years.[14] Stronger Nile floods and stabilization of government, however, brought back renewed prosperity for the country in the Middle Kingdom c. 2040 BC, reaching a peak during the reign of Pharaoh Amenemhat III. A second period of disunity heralded the arrival of the first foreign ruling dynasty in Egypt, that of the Semitic Hyksos. The Hyksos invaders took over much of Lower Egypt around 1650 BC and founded a new capital at Avaris. They were driven out by an Upper Egyptian force led by Ahmose I, who founded the Eighteenth Dynasty and relocated the capital from Memphis to Thebes.

The New Kingdom c. 1550−1070 BC began with the Eighteenth Dynasty, marking the rise of Egypt as an international power that expanded during its greatest extension to an empire as far south as Tombos in Nubia, and included parts of the Levant in the east. This period is noted for some of the most well-known Pharaohs, including Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, Akhenaten and his wife Nefertiti, Tutankhamun and Ramesses II. The first historically attested expression of monotheism came during this period as Atenism. Frequent contacts with other nations brought new ideas to the New Kingdom. The country was later invaded and conquered by Libyans, Nubians and Assyrians, but native Egyptians eventually drove them out and regained control of their country.[15]

The Thirtieth Dynasty was the last native ruling dynasty during the Pharaonic epoch. It fell to the Persians in 343 BC after the last native Pharaoh, King Nectanebo II, was defeated in battle.
Ptolemaic and Roman Egypt

The Ptolemaic Kingdom was a powerful Hellenistic state, extending from southern Syria in the east, to Cyrene to the west, and south to the frontier with Nubia. Alexandria became the capital city and a center of Greek culture and trade. To gain recognition by the native Egyptian populace, they named themselves as the successors to the Pharaohs. The later Ptolemies took on Egyptian traditions, had themselves portrayed on public monuments in Egyptian style and dress, and participated in Egyptian religious life.[16][17]

The last ruler from the Ptolemaic line was Cleopatra VII, who committed suicide with her lover Marc Antony, after Caesar Augustus had captured them. The Ptolemies faced rebellions of native Egyptians often caused by an unwanted regime and were involved in foreign and civil wars that led to the decline of the kingdom and its annexation by Rome. Nevertheless Hellenistic culture continued to thrive in Egypt well after the Muslim conquest.

Before Egypt became part of the Byzantine realm, Christianity had been brought by Saint Mark the Evangelist in the 1st century. Diocletian's reign marked the transition from the Roman to the Byzantine era in Egypt, when a great number of Egyptian Christians were persecuted. The New Testament had by then been translated into Egyptian. After the Council of Chalcedon in AD 451, a distinct Egyptian Coptic Church was firmly established.[18]
Arab and Ottoman Egypt
The Hanging Church of Cairo, first built in the third or fourth century AD, is one of the most famous Coptic Churches in Egypt.

The Byzantines were able to regain control of the country after a brief Persian invasion early in the 7th century, until in AD 639, Egypt was absorbed into the Islamic Empire by the Muslim Arabs. When they defeated the Byzantine Armies in Egypt, the Arabs brought Sunni Islam to the country. Early in this period, Egyptians began to blend their new faith with indigenous beliefs and practices, leading to various Sufi orders that have flourished to this day. These earlier rites had survived the period of Coptic Christianity.[19]

Muslim rulers nominated by the Islamic Caliphate remained in control of Egypt for the next six centuries, with Cairo as the seat of the Caliphate under the Fatimids. With the end of the Ayyubid dynasty, the Mamluks, a Turco-Circassian military caste, took control about AD 1250. By the late 13th century, Egypt linked the Red Sea, India, Malaya, and East Indies.[20][20] They continued to govern the country until the conquest of Egypt by the Ottoman Turks in 1517, after which it became a province of the Ottoman Empire. The mid-14th-century Black Death killed about 40% of the country's population.[21]

After the 15th century, the Ottoman invasion pushed the Egyptian system into decline. The defensive militarization damaged its civil society and economic institutions.[20] The weakening of the economic system combined with the effects of plague left Egypt vulnerable to foreign invasion. Portuguese traders took over their trade.[22] Egypt suffered six famines between 1687 and 1731.[23] The 1784 famine cost it roughly one-sixth of its population.[24]

The brief French invasion of Egypt led by Napoleon Bonaparte began in 1798. The expulsion of the French in 1801 by Ottoman, Mamluk, and British forces was followed by four years of anarchy in which Ottomans, Mamluks, and Albanians who were nominally in the service of the Ottomans, wrestled for power. Out of this chaos, the commander of the Albanian regiment, Muhammad Ali (Kavalali Mehmed Ali Pasha) emerged as a dominant figure and in 1805 was acknowledged by the Sultan in Istanbul as his viceroy in Egypt; the title implied subordination to the Sultan but this was in fact a polite fiction: Ottoman power in Egypt was finished and Muhammad Ali, an ambitious and able leader, established a dynasty that was to rule Egypt until the revolution of 1952. In later years, the dynasty became a British puppet.[25]

His primary focus was military: he annexed Northern Sudan (1820–1824), Syria (1833), and parts of Arabia and Anatolia; but in 1841 the European powers, fearful lest he topple the Ottoman Empire itself, forced him to return most of his conquests to the Ottomans, but he kept the Sudan and his title to Egypt was made hereditary. A more lasting result of his military ambition is that it required him to modernize the country. Eager to adopt the military (and therefore industrial) techniques of the great powers, he sent students to the West and invited training missions to Egypt. He built industries, a system of canals for irrigation and transport, and reformed the civil service.[25]

The introduction in 1820 of long-staple cotton, the Egyptian variety of which became famous, transformed its agriculture into a cash-crop monoculture before the end of the century. The social effects of this were enormous: land ownership became concentrated and many foreigners arrived, shifting production towards international markets.[25]

Muhammad Ali was succeeded briefly by his son Ibrahim (in September 1848), then by a grandson Abbas I (in November 1848), then by Said (in 1854), and Isma'il (in 1863). Abbas I was cautious. Said and Ismail were ambitious developers, but they spent beyond their means. The Suez Canal, built in partnership with the French, was completed in 1869. The cost of this and other projects had two effects: it led to enormous debt to European banks, and caused popular discontent because of the onerous taxation it required. In 1875 Ismail was forced to sell Egypt's share in the canal to the British Government. Within three years this led to the imposition of British and French controllers who sat in the Egyptian cabinet, and, "with the financial power of the bondholders behind them, were the real power in the Government."[26]
Modern Egypt

Local dissatisfaction with Ismail and with European intrusion led to the formation of the first nationalist groupings in 1879, with Ahmad Urabi a prominent figure. In 1882 he became head of a nationalist-dominated ministry committed to democratic reforms including parliamentary control of the budget. Fearing a reduction of their control, the UK and France intervened militarily, bombarding Alexandria and crushing the Egyptian army at the battle of Tel el-Kebir.[27] They reinstalled Ismail's son Tewfik as figurehead of a de facto British protectorate.[28]

In 1914 the Protectorate was made official, and the title of the head of state, which had changed from pasha to khedive in 1867, was changed to sultan, to repudiate the vestigial suzerainty of the Ottoman sultan, who was backing the Central powers in World War I. Abbas II was deposed as khedive and replaced by his uncle, Hussein Kamel, as sultan.[29]

In 1906, the Dinshaway Incident prompted many neutral Egyptians to join the nationalist movement. After the First World War, Saad Zaghlul and the Wafd Party led the Egyptian nationalist movement to a majority at the local Legislative Assembly. When the British exiled Zaghlul and his associates to Malta on March 8, 1919, the country arose in its first modern revolution. The revolt led the UK government to issue a unilateral declaration of Egypt's independence on February 22, 1922.[30]

The new government drafted and implemented a constitution in 1923 based on a parliamentary system. Saad Zaghlul was popularly elected as Prime Minister of Egypt in 1924. In 1936 the Anglo-Egyptian Treaty was concluded. Continued instability due to remaining British influence and increasing political involvement by the king led to the dissolution of the parliament in a military coup d'état known as the 1952 Revolution. The Free Officers Movement forced King Farouk to abdicate in support of his son Fuad. British military presence in Egypt lasted until 1954.[citation needed]
Republic

On June 18, 1953, the Egyptian Republic was declared, with General Muhammad Naguib as the first President of the Republic. Naguib was forced to resign in 1954 by Gamal Abdel Nasser – the real architect of the 1952 movement – and was later put under house arrest. Nasser assumed power as President in June, 1956. British forces completed their withdrawal from the occupied Suez Canal Zone on June 13, 1956. He nationalized the Suez Canal on July 26, 1956, prompting the 1956 Suez Crisis.

Three years after the 1967 Six Day War, during which Israel had invaded and occupied Sinai, Nasser died and was succeeded by Anwar Sadat. Sadat switched Egypt's Cold War allegiance from the Soviet Union to the United States, expelling Soviet advisors in 1972. He launched the Infitah economic reform policy, while violently clamping down on religious and secular opposition.

In 1973, Egypt, along with Syria, launched the October War, a surprise attack against the Israeli forces occupying the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights. It was an attempt to regain part of the Sinai territory Israel had captured 6 years earlier. Sadat hoped to seize some territory through military force, and then regain the rest of the peninsula by diplomacy. The conflict sparked an international crisis between the US and the USSR, both of whom intervened. The second UN-mandated ceasefire halted military action. While the war ended with a military Israeli victory, it presented Sadat with a political victory that later allowed him to regain the Sinai in return for peace with Israel.[31]

Sadat made a historic visit to Israel in 1977, which led to the 1979 peace treaty in exchange for Israeli withdrawal from Sinai. Sadat's initiative sparked enormous controversy in the Arab world and led to Egypt's expulsion from the Arab League, but it was supported by most Egyptians.[32] A fundamentalist military soldier assassinated Sadat in Cairo in 1981. He was succeeded by Hosni Mubarak.

In 2003, the Egyptian Movement for Change, popularly known as Kefaya, was launched to oppose the Mubarak regime and to establish democratic reforms and greater civil liberties.

In January 2011, a popular protest began against the Mubarak government, consisting of a wide range of class demographics. The objective of the protest is for the removal of Mubarak from power. (See also 2011 protests.)
Geography
Main article: Geography of Egypt
Topography of Egypt

At 1,002,450 square kilometers (387,050 sq mi),[33] Egypt is the world's 30th-largest country. In land area, it is about the same size as all Central America,[34] twice the size of Spain,[35] four times the size of the United Kingdom,[36] and the combined size of the US states of Texas and California.[37] It lies between latitudes 22° and 32°N, and longitudes 24° and 36°E.

Nevertheless, due to the aridity of Egypt's climate, population centres are concentrated along the narrow Nile Valley and Delta, meaning that about 99% of the population uses only about 5.5% of the total land area.[38] Egypt is bordered by Libya to the west, Sudan to the south, and by the Gaza Strip and Israel to the east. Egypt's important role in geopolitics stems from its strategic position: a transcontinental nation, it possesses a land bridge (the Isthmus of Suez) between Africa and Asia, traversed by a navigable waterway (the Suez Canal) that connects the Mediterranean Sea with the Indian Ocean by way of the Red Sea.

Apart from the Nile Valley, the majority of Egypt's landscape is desert. Winds create prolific sand dunes that peak at more than 100 feet (30 m) high. Egypt includes parts of the Sahara Desert and of the Libyan Desert. These deserts that protected the Kingdom of the Pharaohs from western threats were referred to as the "red land" in ancient Egypt.
There is evidence of rock carvings along the Nile terraces and in desert oases. In the 10th millennium BC, a culture of hunter-gatherers and fishers replaced a grain-grinding culture. Climate changes and/or overgrazing around 8000 BC began to desiccate the pastoral lands of Egypt, forming the Sahara. Early tribal peoples migrated to the Nile River where they developed a settled agricultural economy and more centralized society.[11]
By about 6000 BC a Neolithic culture rooted in the Nile Valley.[12] During the Neolithic era, several predynastic cultures developed independently in Upper and Lower Egypt. The Badarian culture and the successor Naqada series are generally regarded as precursors to dynastic Egypt. The earliest known Lower Egyptian site, Merimda, predates the Badarian by about seven hundred years. Contemporaneous Lower Egyptian communities coexisted with their southern counterparts for more than two thousand years, remaining culturally distinct, but maintaining frequent contact through trade. The earliest known evidence of Egyptian hieroglyphic inscriptions appeared during the predynastic period on Naqada III pottery vessels, dated to about 3200 BC.[13]
Here are a few tips and ideas to help get you started.

Gather Your Material:

For your memory book, the first thing you are going to want to do is to enlist the help of as many friends and family of the guest of honor (GOH) as you can. Get an email list together and send a list of questions out to all of them, or ask for great stories that involve the GOH. Some examples of questions might be: tell us about how you met the GOH, what is the funniest thing he or she ever said or did, how he or she helped you through a rough time, etc. The idea is to get as many different anecdotes as possible, and if there is one great story, get some different perspectives on it. If the GOH has children, see of you can get them to do a drawing or write a poem.

The key here is to not be to rigid in what you expect from your contributors. Those who have a natural bent for writing should given free reign to contribute whatever they would like to, whereas those who busy or are hard to pin down can just give short answers to specific questions.

You should also ask for some great photographs from the past and present. You may have to encourage some people to scan photos that are not already in a digital format, or to send them to you via snail mail.

Putting it Together:

There are a few different ways you can go about this. You can either put the stories and pictures in chronological order of the GOH's life, or you can let each contributor have his or her own page, or you can divide the book into sections that were contributed by friends, family, children, etc.

When you are designing your pages, it might be a good idea to include clip art of the GOH's favorite hobbies, or items that are representative of what the story on that particular page is. If, for instance, someone is telling a story about a fishing trip, you can include clip art or images of fishing flies and rods, etc.

When you are putting your memory book together, keep fun in mind. Your GOH is going to be totally surprised, so depending on his or her personality, you may not want to do anything too embarrassing or tear-jerkingly poignant. Then again, you might. It all depends on the person. Just keep in mind that the book you are creating is something that you want the GOH to keep forever.

Printing and Binding:

When it comes to printing, you will probably want to make the pages as high quality as possible, so use a digital color printer if possible. There are lots of options for binding the book. "You can take it to the print and copy shop, send it away to one of many online services, or for less than one hundred dollars you can get a machine that will allow you to bind the book yourself. Thermal (hardcover) binding machines are really easy to use, and allow you to make as many copies as you want at a moment's notice. They are great to have around for other projects too, as well as repairing your old and worn out books.

If you are interested in more information about how the right Thermal Binding Systems can help you create a great memory book you might want to visit MyBinding.com. It is considered a gift from Allah (S.W.T) to all Muslims. This month is meant to teach Muslims patience, tolerance and modesty. Ramadan is a month for spiritual teaching during which all Muslims pray and fast for Allah. The significance of the month of Ramadan for Muslims is great because during this month Muslims pray for guidance to follow the right path, refrain from sins, devils temptations, any evil thoughts or deeds and to purify themselves by praying, doing good deeds and restraining themselves against any evil thoughts or actions.

Ramadan holds great significance in a Muslims life. It is during this month that the holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). During this month, Muslims praying, fasting and abstaining from evil deeds and thoughts are rewarded 70 times more than the usual prayers.

The Month of Ramadan brings all Muslims together. People come together to pray, fast and at sunset break their fast together regardless of their level in society. All worldly things are put aside and Muslims do a lot of charity during Ramadan. It is also during Ramadan that Muslims give charity in the form of Zakat to people in need.

Fasting is the most important aspect of Ramadan. Muslims all over the world get up before sunrise to do Sehri, a meal that signifies the starting of their fast. After sehri, Muslims start their fast by praying Fajr, the first prayer of the day. They continue to refrain from eating and drinking till sunset when they perform the forth prayer of the day, Maghrib. In Ramadan, muslims break their fast by eating date and drinking water at a meal called Iftar.

The purpose of Ramadan is to keep Muslims away from worldly thoughts and activities and direct them more towards worshiping, learning the difference between right and wrong and also to learn tolerance to stay away from all evil thoughts and deeds, to develop patience. It helps to gain self discipline, self control, sacrifice and empathize with those who are less fortunate by doing charity in the form of Zakat and showing generosity.

All Muslims who are healthy, and have no illness and disabilities are required to fast during Ramadan. Elderly, people with serious illness or disability are exempted from fasting, though they are required to feed poor in place of missed fasting. Pregnant women, nursing women, people travelling far and also exempted given the same condition that they feed the poor or make up for their fasts after the month of Ramadan has also ended. Children are not required to fast. People are required to fast once they become Islamic adults. According to a well known hadith, people who observe Ramadan properly have their sins forgiven. The gates of hell are closed during the holy month of Ramadan and satan is locked up. Reciting the Quran is also an important part of Ramadan along with praying and fasting.

The End of Ramadan is marked by celebration in the form of Eid, after the new moon has been sighted. There is a special celebration on Eid ul Fitr, which marks the ending of Ramadan and is also known as festival of breaking fasts. People wear new clothes and offer special Eid Prayers in the morning to mark the ending of the holy month of Ramadan. As part of the celebration people exchange gifts with their friends and family.
It is a celebration of the person's achievements in his or her life starting from infancy to adulthood. From learning how to crawl, stand, walk, talk, eat on his own, take a bath on his own, read and write, to passing the exams, graduating from class, learning how to drive, and start on a new job. If the number of achievements that we make on this first half of our lives equals the achievements that we will make on the other half of our lives, then we would be a well-rounded person. This is the reason why 21st birthday gifts are equally as important. It is given to honor the 21 years of hard work and learning that the person has surpassed and to show them how proud we are of them.

A Special Celebration for that Special Occasion

To mark the 21st birthday of a person, a special celebration is prepared. 21st birthday gifts to commemorate the special day is usually given to the celebrant. Trinkets and ornaments are very popular 21st birthday gifts. The "Silver 21 Numbers" which are made from solid chrome, looks great on top of drawers and dressers. They can also serve as paperweight in study tables. They come in nice gift boxes that are handy in gift-giving.

Other gift suggestions are the "Pocket Photo Album" and the "Keepsake Box". The "Pocket Photo Album" is ideal for guys in which photos of the party could be placed while the "Keepsake Box" is perfect for any lady. It is handcrafted in white fabric with beaded embroidery. Its inside is designed to hold memorabilia from the party.

Personalize without names

Personalizing an item doesn't mean labeling it with names. You can personalize something with the use of pictures or items that has meaning to the person like his favorite hero, a well-loved movie or her favorite song. You could find out the top record on the charts at the time of her birth and have it framed like the "Your Special Record- Personal Vinyl Plaque".

Expensive Gift for a Special Person

For guys, a "21 year-old Brandy and Original Backdated Newspaper" from their own birth date, "Engraved Flutes and Champagne" with its own silk lined box or "Personalized Bailey's Basket with Nice Glasses" that comes with coffee and mint crèmes are a hit.

For ladies, on the other hand, luxurious trips and experiences is worthwhile like the "Balloon Flight Experience", trip on a luxury cruise to other countries or an all-expense-paid day in the salon and spa could make her day memorable and unforgettable.

Giving 21st birthday gifts are symbolic of your support and your being proud of the accomplishments that they made. Whatever gift you give, being proud of them and showing that you love them is enough to make the day and the person special.

* Can you really make a bath gift basket she will love?
* Do you find yourself trying to decide what to buy?
* Will you disappoint her if you give her a bath gift basket and not something else?

If you have found yourself facing one of these three questions, you should really read this article. It can easily solve for you a complicated problem. From my experience as a woman and my acquaintance with many other women, I can tell you that we, women, have something in common--

- A clear and decisive love for cleanliness,
- Aesthetics,
- Wonderful aromas,
- Personal upkeep, and beauty.

Now combine everything I have told you and you tell me what kind of present can satisfy everything. I assumed you have already guessed by yourself that it is a bath gift basket.

There is no possibility of creating a more winning combination than a bath gift basket. Everything comes in one package and gives you the possibility to give an especially wonderful present full of love. And now we will move to the next stage. I hope the idea of a bath gift basket charms you and that you are willing to continue with me further on the path to an easier life.

Will you be able to make a bath gift basket or is it not worth it to even try? You can easily be successful. So where to start? As always, you must start with a shopping list - do not worry, I have prepared it for you. The shopping list needed for the bath gift basket

* A firm leather bag with two handles.
* Body lotion, liquid soap, and hand cream belonging to the same company so that the look and scent of the items will match.
* A string of fabric the color of the items
* A big, brightly-colored full towel or shower robe
* A bottle of red wine
* A small heart-shaped box full of gourmet chocolates
* Clear cellophane paper
* A colorful ribbon

Preparation of the present

* Fold the towel into thirds, roll it, and insert it inside the basket or bag.
Tie fabric string around the items you chose.
* On one side of the towel place the red wine and on the other side place the beauty products.
* Place the box of chocolates between the towel and the wine bottle.

* Put the completed basket onto a piece of cellophane paper, grab the four edges of the paper, gather at the center, and attach everything with the colorful ribbon tied into a bow shape.

Now that you have finished all the preparations, there remains only one question. Will she not be disappointed? Now that you have finished making the bath gift basket for her, look at the present you have made and think for yourself is it possible for her to be disappointed?

Will she not see by herself the originality, effort and thought you invested into making this gift? She will probably love this present because within this particular bath gift basket which you have prepared she will be able to see and feel strongly your heart, real and upfront.

New Ezine Articles | Passport Cases for Personalized Birthday Gifts

Passport Cases for Personalized Birthday Gifts

By: Mary Braun

When was the last time you traveled? Was it before or after you needed to have a passport to get back into the United States? If it was before then you probably did not have to worry about keeping your personal travel papers someplace on you that was safe and comfortable. Traveling before was easy and as long as you had a copy of your birth certificate which fit in your everyday wallet you were good to go.

Now, even traveling into Canada, Mexico or going on cruises there are additional travel documents known as a passport that is required. You have to apply for one and this can take anywhere from two weeks to two months to receive it. So, you need to plan ahead. One thing you could also take care of while you are waiting for your passport is purchasing a "Passport Case".
Select either a "Security Hanging Passport Case" designed to carry your travel papers since it offers a see through window for your passport and picture identification and also includes back zipped pockets to hold money, change, and credit cards. Another choice is a "Leather Passport Case" that also holds your passport, money, and credit cards and also has deep pockets for travel papers, in additional to an identification window. The leather us using d is top grain Napa cowhide that feels like a soft glove.

One other feature is if you decide to purchase more than one and your order total is over $50 then your shipping is free so this would be an excellent wedding gift if you know the couple is traveling for their honeymoon or going on a cruise. You could also buy yourself and another gift to take advantage of the shipping charges. Customer satisfaction is guaranteed and this could be a great opportunity to start your shopping early. It makes your clients feel important because your company has taken an extra effort just to make feel a little special. Your customers will feel much valued if the gifts that you send have a personal touch such as personalized items and giveaways. There are a lot of things that you can give to your most valued clients, but if your main goal in giving the gift is to further promote your company or your company's product, giving gifts to a lot of people will not be practical because it will cost you so much. Instead, you can give small, promotional products if you are planning to send gifts to a huge population of customers.
If you are wondering what particular promotional item or customers gifts would create a good impression to most people, well it all depends on what your company is offering. But of course, you should also consider the budget that you are working on. You can find a lot of affordable promotional items and have your company or product's name printed on it as many as you can afford. This way, you will not have to spend a lot for one item but instead can spread out your budget to as much advertising and exposure that you can afford.
If your company concentrates to a particular group of people only, for example, a product that is specifically intended for people working in the corporate world, then the only promotional items that you need to give are the ones that will suit this group of people best. Therefore, you should not give this group cheap customers gifts because these people are well educated and are a part of the upper class in the society. To be sure, find someone who makes custom promotional items so that you can give these people something unique and something that they would not want to throw away right away. Items like a mouse pad, or a ballpen or a paper holders bearing your company's name or company logo are the most effective. Also make sure that you wrap the items neatly and nicely so that they will not look cheap. Be strategic yet stylish in placing your company name or logo so that when other people see the customers gifts, they will know immediately who it is from.

If you want to give the best customers gifts to your customers to give them satisfaction, find them at Little Something.

Father's Day is coming around again, this year falling on Sunday the 20st of June. If you are still wondering what to get your dad, now is the time to start looking for that perfect Father's Day gift, and in order help make this process easier, here's a top 10 list of where to start looking.
1. By June we will hopefully be enjoying warmer and sunnier weather, which makes it the perfect time to take radio controlled toys out for a spin. Some of the most popular products at the moment are radio control helicopters, rc planes and remote control trucks. The Eflite Blade mCX2 Radio Control Helicopter is a great ultra micro-sized rc helicopter ideal for flyers of all skill levels, and comes ready to fly, with no assembly required - simply put in the battery included and start practicing. Every Blade mCX2 is test flown and trimmed before leaving the factory, so the path to success for first time flyers is assured. The radio control helicopter default settings are set to the level of control, speed and agility suitable for a complete novice, but these can be changed to enable the heli to perform at higher speeds and with more agility as ability levels and confidence grow in the pilot.
2. If you think flying a plane is more to your dad's liking, the Hobbyzone Champ RTF radio control plane is a great Father's day gift idea. The micro sized rc plane offers the chance to recreate the early days of aviation. Constructed from injection moulded foam the Champ is very easy to control and is ideal for flying indoors or under calm weather conditions, and the on-board radio system equipped with Spektrum 2.4GHz DSM2 technology means no signal inference wherever you are. The plane's lightweight and durable construction also means it's easy to fly in small spaces without the worry of crash damage.
3. The Tamiya 1/14 MAN TGX 26.540 6x4 XLX is one of the most sophisticated radio control trucks on the market. The 1/14 scale aerodynamic rc truck is precisely reproduced, with front grill features mesh material, a cabin that tilts forward separately from fenders and realistic fender interiors and exteriors. Using a Type 450 motor, this Tamiya remote control truck is controlled by a 4-channel transmitter to allow gear shifting and front and rear suspension through metal leaf springs and coil spring dampeners.
4. Meccano Sets make great gift ideas for children of all ages, and will surely make your dad reminisce of his own childhood. The Meccano Special Edition 1930's Vintage Set is an affordable set that casts a nostalgic eye back at the early days of Meccano. The set includes plans for 4 different models, but with over 100 parts included in this construction set, there are limitless possibilities for what you can build. The Special Edition Meccano Set comes in a vintage style box.
5. Retro Toys have recently become back in style again, thanks in no part to the James May's Toy Stories TV show. One of the most popular brands of retro toys is Scalextric, the de facto standard in slot racing cars and sets. New to 2010 is the Scalextric Aston Martin DBS Green DPR. A highly detailed Scalextric car, it has a detailed and intricate body shell, working front and rear lights and is digital plug ready, which will allow you to convert it from standard to digital in effortlessly with the C8515 Digital Plug.
6. Another popular brand of retro toys is Hornby Railways. The Hornby Railways Railroad BR Mallard Class A4-DCC Fitted accurately recreates a real life steam locomoive in its BR Green livery with a pristine finish and comes fitted with a DCC decoder. As part of the Hornby Railroad range, it is fitted with an efficient drive mechanism and pickups on all drive wheels to ensure smooth running and without the easily damaged detail parts of some of the higher end models.
7. Diecast models are also great gift ideas for Father's Day. One of the most popular at the moment is the Corgi Scania R Fridge Trailer Eddie Stobart of the Hauliers of Renown collector's model range, which can be collected and displayed together.
8. Also hotly tipped is the 1/12th scale Minichamps Joey Dunlop Honda VFR 750 RC45, released on the 14th of June, just in time for Father's Day. Featuring removable fairing, movable steering damper, working suspension and racing stand, it is sure to be a hit with racing enthusiasts.
9. Airfix and Tamiya are well known for their quality plastic models, with both manufacturers supplying a wide range products that make great Father's Day gift ideas. The Airfix 1/350 HMS Illustrious Gift Set and Airfix 1/72 Dambusters Gift Set accurately recreates the real life British Royal Navy vessel and Lancaster bombers, respectively and come with all the paint and glue required for assembly. The Tamiya 1/24 Aston Martin DBS is also highly detailed, with an engine hood that can be opened and closed, synthetic rubber tires and decals.
