Hedge Funds Support of Heroes.

Last night was a very special evening. It was about the “blokes out there” saving lives and doing a great job for the Armed Forces. This photographer certainly believes they are the true heroes, not those attention seekers on television.

Funkify were the night’s live band entertainment. They invited me to photograph their event last night. It was a great night; the band were really rocking out the place and the guests really seemed to enjoy it. I’ll upload more photos a bit later, for now I’ve done a few quick edits for you to see.

Mark Edwards, Red Bullets at Silverstone

In the first part of the Red Bullets at Silverstone, I thought it would be appropriate to start with the drummer Mark Edwards. I hadn’t seen Mark in a while but when I did find him in the camp sight he looked different, a bit more confident perhaps. In light of the Mark Wheeler and Kyle Hall leaving he seem reassured that the new band members would fit in comfortably.

What I like about Mark is he does like to be photographed, although I did remind him of that time he was hung over in a recording studio and did want me to “go away”. I took the shot anyway which I don’t think he ever thanked me for…

An amazing day spent with one of my favourite bands just by the Silverstone race track ahead of the British Gran Prix happening now.

In my most humble opinion , it’s my website so I can say what I like , you have two choices as an up and coming band; be an originals band where you write, arrange and perform your own songs, or you are a covers band. An originals band have their own problems to hurdle the main one being most people have not heard of their songs. With a covers band you face another difficulty in that the audence will know the songs you sing, they will know it very well too so the band have to nail it or else they will fail dramatically.Which leads us nicely to Wired.

I’ve know of Wired for a couple of years now. They’re a very talented bunch of musicians fronted by a charasmatic lead singer. Having only seen them once before at the Goat in Berkhamstead I was amazed at their unique take on some very well established songs.

They play crowd pleases which is great as that’s what the audience wants. There is nothing more disappointing when a covers band plays a set where the songs are big hitting anthems; not so with Wired. Covering bands such as Oasis and Killers they know what their fans one and they give it out in droves.

Sounding great on stage is one thing, but as a stage performance I have seen young bands die because they just have no presence. A stage is a big space to fill if you don’t know how to use it. Wired did not disappoint. They are veterans of knowing how to please a crowd, and a photographer

I was invited along to the Rickmansworth Festival on Saturday by Wired. I was there to cover their performance off and on the stage.

Since Wired were headlining I also had quite a few bands playing before them, one of them was a Ska band called True Beat. I was very impressed with their stage performance and couldn’t help getting some shots which I’m proud of. Let me know what you think!?
