Today I decided to show you the way how to add a StumbleUpon Button/Badge in Blogger. Normally if you have already add the Tweet Button, you can also join to it this button. The method of adding this button to appear in every blogger post in general is the same as the method we used for adding the Tweet Button, but normally the code is different. So let’s start adding the StumbleUpon button.
1. Login to your Blogger account and go to Design.

2. Click at the Edit HTML tab which will lead you to the Edit Template page.

3. At the Edit Template page check the Expand Widget Templates option. Now you have to be careful here. First find the following code to your template: <data:post.body/> (press CTRL+F paste the code and the browser will find it for you).

After you have find the line where is written <data:post.body/> just after it paste the following code:

<script src=”http://www.stumbleupon.com/hostedbadge.php?s=1“></script>
Notice: If you use the code above, it will display the following button:
If you don’t like the above one, just change the number in red (s=1) in the code with one of the numbers which refer to the following button designs:

For s=2 you get this button

For s=3 you get this button

For s=4 you get this button

For s=5 you get this button

For s=6 you get this button

After you have added the code in your template, just click Save Template and preview your blog.

Hope you liked it. This FeedBurner widget is designed to display the current number of subscribers in your blog. So after you have achieved to attract a good amount of subscribers it is really useful to add this widget in your blog because the number of subscribers is also a good element to measure your blog success.

So let’s go to see how can we install this widget in your Blogger blog.

1. Login to your FeedBurner account, then click on your feed and it will get you to the FeedBurner dashboard. Now click at the Publicize tab.

2. Now you are at the Publicize section. Go to the Services menu in the left and click on FeedCount.

3. As you can see in the picture below the FeedCount service is not activated yet. So click on the Activate button.

4. After the activation now we can set up the FeedBurner Feed Counter. As you can see in the picture below, there are two different styles of the widget, it can be Static or Animated and also you can chose the color of your chicklet which suits better with your blog design. After you have done these changes, copy the HTML code and click Save.

5. Now it’s time to install the LinkedIn Sharing Button to your Blogger posts.

For Vertical count button:

<div style=’float:right;margin:4px;’>
<script src=’http://platform.linkedin.com/in.js’ type=’text/javascript’/><script data-counter=’top’ expr:data-url=’data:post.url’ type=’in/share’/>
</div>

For Horizontal count Button:

<div style=’float:right;margin:4px;’>
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://platform.linkedin.com/in.js”></script><script type=”in/share” data-counter=”right”></script>
</div>

For No count (small) Button:

<div style=’float:right;margin:4px;’>
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://platform.linkedin.com/in.js”></script><script type=”in/share”></script>
</div>
Notice: As you can see in the code, I’ve made the button to appear on the right of the post, but if you want to appear in the left side, just write left instead of right in the code.
After you have added the code in your template, just click Save Template and preview your blog.

So the function of this button is the same as the Tweet button for which I wrote an article on how to add the Tweet button to Blogger blogs. In this short tutorial I’m going to show you the simplest way to install this button in every post of your Blogger blog.

For Button + Counter copy and paste this code:

<a title=”Post to Google Buzz” class=”google-buzz-button” href=”http://www.google.com/buzz/post” data-button-style=”normal-count“></a><script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://www.google.com/buzz/api/button.js”></script>
Important: The code above will display the button in normal size but if you want the small version of the Google Buzz Count Button replace the words in RED with small-count.
For Button only style copy and paste the following code:

<a title=”Post to Google Buzz” class=”google-buzz-button” href=”http://www.google.com/buzz/post” data-button-style=”normal-button“></a><script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://www.google.com/buzz/api/button.js”></script>

Important: Also this code will display the button in normal size but if you want the small version of the Google Buzz Button replace the words in RED with small-button.
For link button copy and paste the following code:

<a title=”Post to Google Buzz” class=”google-buzz-button” href=”http://www.google.com/buzz/post” data-button-style=”link”></a>
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://www.google.com/buzz/api/button.js”></script>

After you have added the code in your template, just click Save Template and preview your blog.
Me myself I giving a shot at Windows 7, so I have installed on my laptop, but I still have Windows XP on my old PC (which I use a lot). Maybe someone will think that I’m a ‘fossil’ for still running XP, but I’m really used to it and I can operate with it very easily, cuz I know almost everything about it. After all, the very first computer I ever bought was with Windows XP, so it has some emotional value for me.
Like every other man produced thing, XP also has its own manufacturing flaws. It surely isn’t perfect, but you can get the best from it.
Now I know that on the internet you can find a thousand ways to make your XP run faster, but not all of them or easy to do, or even safe. Applying tweaks for better performance is justified, but you have to know when it’s enough. Apply to much of them and suddenly you realize that you have pulled to many cards off your tower of cards, so it tumbles down.
Here are the eight steps for making your XP run a little bit easier, I do this all the time and is very satisfying with balancing performance and safety.
So, let’s start:

STEP 1: If looks doesn’t matter to you, you only want the beauty within , than you won’t mind this change. Right click on My Computer and go to ‘Properties’. Advanced > Performance > Settings > Visual Effects > Adjust for best performance.

STEP 2: Go to every partition, right click and properties. Start > Run. Type ‘msconfig’ and press Enter. Go to the Startup tab and uncheck the programs you don’t need. Press Apply, then OK and Restart your computer.

STEP 4: Some of the programs that you have installed automatically offer services that take a lot of RAM and that you don’t really need. So disabling them also frees a lot of RAM.
Start > Run. Type ‘msconfig’ and press Enter. Go to Services tab, check the ‘Hide All Microsoft Services’, a from the remaining in the list, uncheck the one you don’t need. Press Apply, then OK and Restart your computer.

STEP 5: The default time of boot on Windows is 30 seconds. You can change that, so your machine will boot faster and you don’t have to wait the normal boring boot time.
Start > Run. Type ‘msconfig’ and press Enter. Go to BOOT.INI tab. In the Timeout box change the value from 30 to 3 seconds. Press Apply, then OK and Restart your computer.

STEP 6: Fragmentation of files on your drives is like when you put your clothes in luggage without any order. Stuffing them mindlessly, creating a chaos that takes a lot of free space and when you need to get some of them out, you don’t know where they are exactly, so it takes time and effort to figure it out.
Defragmentation of your drives is necessary to put all of the files in the right order, so they don’t take unneeded space and the computer doesn’t waste priceless time searching for them. The drives must be at least 15% free to defragment them properly. It may take some time, but it’s worth it.
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter.
Defragment every partition.

STEP 7: Emptying the Prefetcher folder occasionally and periodically improves performance.
Start > Run. Type ‘prefetch’. Select and delete all files.

STEP 8: Another thing you need to do repeatedly is deleting the temporary files.
Short way to do this is: Start > Run. Type ‘%temp%’, select and delete all files.

How to quickly add Recent Posts Widget with Thumbnails to Blogger

When I started blogging years ago, as all the beginners I choosed Blogger as my blogging platform. But at the time there it was difficult to customize the Blogger templates, so every blogger needed to have some HTML and CSS knowledge in order to install specific widgets. But now a lots of things have changed in Blogger. Today this blogging platform offers to the bloggers a wide range of great widgets/gadgets. In this quick tutorial I’m going to show you how to easily install a Recent Post Widget/Gadget with Thumbnails in your Blogger blog. So let’s start adding.

1. Login to your Blogger account. At the dashboard go to your blog and click Design.

2. You will be redirected to the Page Elements section of your Blogger blog where you have to click Add a Gadget.

3. Now in front of you will appear a new window with a large list of gadgets/widgets. Continue by clicking on Featured.

Attention: There is a short way to add the Recent Post Widget with Thumbnails just by typing “recent posts thumbnails” on the search bar at the top right (see the picture below).

4. At the Featured list of Gadgets you will find the Recent Post Widget with Thumbnails at the bottom. Click on it.

5. Now you have to configure the widget. You can change your title, the heigh, the number of posts which will appear in this widget, the summary length etc. The important thing here is to select the style of your Recent Posts Widget.
<form style=”border:1px solid #ccc;padding:3px;text-align:center;” action=”http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify” method=”post” target=”popupwindow” onsubmit=”window.open(‘http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=DipInIt’, ‘popupwindow’, ‘scrollbars=yes,width=550,height=520′);return true”><p>Enter your email address:</p><p><input type=”text” style=”width:140px” name=”email”/></p><input type=”hidden” value=”DipInIt” name=”uri”/><input type=”hidden” name=”loc” value=”en_US”/><input type=”submit” value=”Subscribe” /><p>Delivered by <a href=”http://feedburner.google.com” target=”_blank”>FeedBurner</a></p></form>

The number in Red represents the width of the text box where the email need to be written. So changing it makes the textbox bigger or smaller

The text in Blue represents the text that appears on the button. Instead of Subscribe you can write Submit or Sign Up, so it’s up to you.

The piece of code that is Green highlighted represents the text and the url that stands under the text box Delivered by FeedBurner, so if you want to remove that text just delete that piece of code.

If you want to add a picture inside the Feedburner Email Subscription Form just add the following code right before <p>Enter your email address:</p> which will set the picture above the Enter your email adress text, or if you want at the bottom just paste the code right before the </form>.

<img src=”your image url” border=”0″ alt=”Subscribe via Mail”>

So, she asked me if I know any software program that she can use. I knew that she was running Windows XP on her netbook, so I gave her the next option that you too can find it very useful :

1. Go to Start > Run

2. On the Run box write gpedit.msc

3. A window will appear, called Group Policy. Go to Use Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Explorer, there you will find ‘Prevent access to drives from My Computer‘.

4. Double click and another window appears

Check the Enabled button and on the combination box you can choose which drive or partition you want to restrict. I guess it is even better if one doesn’t know that a partition exist, won’t try to access it if he doesn’t know that it’s is there. Simple and clean way to protect your privacy and your personal data in case you need to send your PC for repair or any particular reason. Quite practical and pretty cool solution. I could be used even as a joke. You can freak out your friend when she/he sees that all the drives are gone. But off course, all in good spirit.
In the following I will illustrate this for Windows Xp and Windows 7. It’s almost identical in both versions, but just in case…

How to hide partitions in Windows Xp

Step 1. Start > Run. style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
The users of Windows XP know that the Run Command was a crucial element in the Start Menu. But in the latest versions of Windows, like Vista and 7 we can notice that by default there is not such a thing in their Start Menus.

Being an advanced user of Windows XP, the Run Command was a crucial element while using this OS, so when I had the first contact with Windows 7 I really got nervous about this thing, but normally there is always solution. Lets see how can we get back the Run Command box in the Start Menu.

1. Go to the Windows 7 taskbar, right-click on it and select Properties.

2. The Taskbar and Start Menu Properties windows will appear. Click to the Start Menu tab.

3. Now you are at the Start Menu Properties section. Click to the Customize button.

4. The Start Menu Customize window will appear. There is a large list of Start Menu elements, so scroll down and find the Run Command and check it. Click OK and you will be back to the previous window where you have to click Apply in order the changes to take effect.

So after this, go back to your Start Menu and you will see that the Run Command is now enabled.

Click on it and finally you will get your Run Command window.

How to change your Facebook Layout for Free

If you want to costumize your face book profile, there is a simple way to achieve that.
1. Go to Start, right-click on it and select Properties. (This is not the only way to access the Start Menu Properties but this is the easiest.)
2. The Taskbar and Start Menu Properties windows will appear to you. Now you are at the Start Menu tab, so you have to click to Costumize.
3. At the new window you can notice there is a huge list with settings for the Windows 7 Star Menu. You have to scroll down at the bottom of that list and you will see the Use large icons option, so just uncheck it (this will activate the small icons feature in your Windows 7 Start Menu), click Ok and you are done.
Now go to your Start Menu and see the new look. It should look like in the picture below. You can notice that when you change the large icons also the Start Menu in Windows 7 gets smaller.
But when you install some specific applications like Antivirus or other programs that work in background, they are added in the notification area. In this state Windows 7 hides the most of these icons except the volume, Network Connections and the Action Center. So if you want to access the other icons you have to expend the notification area. If you don’t want to access them by expanding the notification area, but you want to see all the icons there, follow these steps:

1. Expand the Notification Area and click to Customize or just right-click to the empty space in the Notification Area and selecting Customize notification icons.

Important: There is also a way by going to the Windows 7 Taskbar, right-clicking on it and select Properties and then to the Notification Area section click Customize or by going on Start > Control Panel > Notification Area Icons.

2. At the Notification Area Icons window check the Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar and click Ok.

Look at the taskbar and notice that all the icons appear and there is no need to expand the Notification Area anymore.

How to disable Hibernation in Windows 7

“Hibernation is a power-saving state designed primarily for laptops. While sleep puts your work and settings in memory and draws a small amount of power, hibernation puts your open documents and programs on your hard disk, and then turns off your computer. Of all the power-saving states in Windows, hibernation uses the least amount of power. On a laptop, use hibernation when you know that you won’t use your laptop for an extended period and won’t have an opportunity to charge the battery during that time.” – Microsoft.
There is a command prompt way to disable it, but I think this way is better and more safe. So here it is:
1. Start >
2. Control Panel >
3. Hardware and Sound >
4. Power Options >
5. Change when the computer sleeps >
6. Change advanced power settings.
7. On the new window called Power Options find, click and expand Sleep and after expand Allow hybrid sleep and Hibernate After
8. On Allow hybrid sleep change the settings to Off
9. On Hibernate After change the settings to Never (write it)
10. Click Ok and you are done.
Login to your Feedburner account, go to the Dashboard and click on the Publicize tab.

2. In the Publicize section, from the Services list which is on the left click on the BuzzBoost.

3. Now your are at the BuzzBoost settings page where you have to configure it in order to generate a code for the Recent Posts Widget. You have to be careful here in order to do the right thing. First go to the Feed Content to Display section where you have to uncheck all the given options. Then continue above at the Feed Settings section where you have to set the number of Recent Posts you want to be shown at your blog and then click Activate.

4. Now you have activated this feature, so you just need to select the blogging platform where you gonna use this widget and click Go. Your code is ready now, just copy it.

5. Login to your Blogger account and go to Design section.

6. This is very useful if you hate when someone goes into your computer and changes your favorite theme. In this post I’m going to show you the easiest way using the Local Group Policy Editor. So lets start.
1. Go to Start, at the search box write gpedit.msc and it will find the Local Group Policy Editor. Click on it.
2. The Local Group Policy Editor will appear. With your mouse go to the List Tree at the left of the same windows and under User Configuration go to Administrative Templates then Control Panel and finally in Personalization.

3. After you clicked on Personalization a list with settings will be shown in the same window. The second in order is the Prevent changing theme, click on it.

4. In the new window select the Enabled option, which will enable the prevention of changing your Windows 7 theme. Click Apply then Ok and you are done.

Go to your Windows 7 desktop, right-click on it and select Personalize. You can notice that the themes are faded in black and white which means that you cannot access them. Also in the bottom of the window you will get the message:

“One or more settings on this page has been disabled by the system administrator”

Now don’t be afraid because no one can change your Windows 7 theme.

Important: If you want to disable this feature again, just follow the same steps from the beginning and in the last step select Disabled, which will stop preventing the users to change the themes.

How to add Twitters Tweet Button in your Blogger Posts

In this tutorial I’m going to show you how to add the official Tweet Button from Twitter in your blogger posts. The Tweet Button it’s a great tool which will help spreading your articles through Twitter users that visit your blog. How this button works? It’s simple, visitors come to your blog, read your articles and if they like them, they just press the Tweet Button and if they are logged to their Twitter account, automatically your article is tweeted. Now let’s start with adding this button to your Blogger posts.

1. Login to your Blogger account and go to Design.

2. Click at the Edit HTML tab which will lead you to the Edit Template page.

4. At the Edit Template page check the Expand Widget Templates option. Now you have to be careful here. First find the following code to your template: <data:post.body/> (press CTRL+F paste the code and the browser will find it for you).

After you have find the line where is written <data:post.body/> just after it paste the following code:

1) If you want a vertical count Tweet Button paste this code:

<a href=”http://twitter.com/share” class=”twitter-share-button” data-count=”vertical” data-via=”YOUR TWITTER USERNAME“>Tweet</a><script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js”></script>

2) If you want a horizontal count Tweet Button paste this code:

<a href=”http://twitter.com/share” class=”twitter-share-button” data-count=”horizontal” data-via=”YOUR TWITTER USERNAME“>Tweet</a><script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js”></script>

3) If your want a simple no count Tweet Button paste this code:

<a href=”http://twitter.com/share” class=”twitter-share-button” data-count=”none” data-via=”YOUR TWITTER USERNAME“>Tweet</a><script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js”></script>

Important: When you copy the code and paste it in your blogger template code replace the YOUR TWITTER USERNAME with your real Twitter username.
If you added the code in your blogger template code and changed the username click on Save Template.
Now in the end here are the 3 kind of Tweet Buttons that we mentioned above and gave the code for each one of them.

How to turn off the password in a password protected sharing network in Windows 7

When you create a sharing network in Windows 7 it gives you a password which you have to use when you want to access your PC sharing network from other PC or if you want to give other people the permission to access your shared files, printers or Public Folders you must turn off the password. So in this article I’m going to show you how you can do this.
1. First go to Start then Control Panel and then click to the Network and Sharing Center or the other method is to go to your Notification Area and right click the small icon that represents your Network Connections. Then a dropdown menu will appear and you have to click to Open Network and Sharing Center.

2. After the Network and Sharing Center window is open, click the Change advanced sharing settings link at the left of the window.

3. Now scroll down and find the Password Protected Sharing section select Turn off password protected sharing and click the Save changes button. Thats all people.

How to download and convert videos & clips using RealPlayer

I’ve been using Real Player lately, as an extension on my browser, I’m very satisfied with it and it has been very useful to me. The main reason I’ve installed it is to download videos from YouTube, cause I read somewhere that Real Player can easily do that. But soon after I found out that it can do much more. Let alone it is a great video\audio player, it also very functional on many levels.
When the video starts to play, on the top right corner of the video pops up a little rectangle that says “Download this video” or in some cases “Download this clip”, depending what kind of file is it, and with a single click on that button the download immediately starts, showing the progress on the RealPlayer Downloader window. The downloader automatically saves that video\clip in RealPlayer Downloads which by default is placed in ‘My videos’ of ‘My Documents’ (if you’re running Windows).
When the download finishes, on the RP Downloader window, by hovering with the mouse cursor on the downloaded file, some options will appear: Convert, Trim, Copy To and buttons of Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and e-mail (for quick share). Using the Converter you can convert the downloaded file in any format that you want; Mp3, Wav, WMV, Apple h.264, 3GP, Windows Media, RealVideo, RealVideoPlus or adapt it directly for your BlackBerry (Bold, Curve, Pearl, Storm). Modifying the characteristics of the chosen format is available.
With the Trimmer you can cut off any piece of the clip you want. Also you can share the file on your social profile.
But it doesn’t mean you got to do it immediately. You can do it later if you want. You just have to open the Real Player Library, browse the downloaded files and manipulate with them in the giving options as you wish.
The best thing is that you can download files not only from YouTube, but also from Vmeo, Dailymotion, LiveLeak and many more. You have try it for yourself.
In the following, I will show you ( with captions) how to install Real Player, to enable it in your browser, to download with it and convert the files.
