Tonight's the Night and You're Invited!

Everyone is buzzing behind the scenes at Gina K. Designs and StampTV because tonight is our release party and YOU'RE INVITED!

Today, the illustrators have gotten together to showcase all of their new stamp sets with an invitation blog hop! As you hop through the blogs, leave a comment on each one and we will choose one lucky winner who will win a prize package full of stamping products and embellishments!

Along with all of the beautiful new stamp sets, tonight we are releasing EIGHT new colors of ink along with ribbon, buttons and reinkers! One of the most requested ink pads is being released tonight as well and that is our new Black Onyx.

The number one question I have been getting about the new Black Onyx ink is,
"Can it be used with Copic Markers?"

I had the design team play with the new black ink for the last couple of weeks and one of the design team members who is also a Copic instructor and design team member said that it worked great! No smearing and she colored directly over the lines to really test it.

The first time I tried it, I heat set it first because I was scared. LOL! It worked beautifully for me. No smearing at all! Beautiful rich dark black lines and bright, vibrant Copic color. Once I heard the reports from some of the other designers, I tried coloring without heat setting, and again, NO problems at all! I did let it sit for a couple minutes first since the ink pad was brand new and a little juicier than my Memento pad, (and I know any ink will smear if it's still wet.)

But, a couple of our design team members did not have as much luck. They said that it smeared for them. Because of that report, I can't say that it will work for everyone.

So my best answer is this:
The overwhelming majority of our team, (including me,) has had great luck and thinks that our new Black Onyx ink performs as well as Memento Black ink. If you are looking for the blackest black ink for solid stamping, vibrant line art, rich backgrounds, crisp borders and bold greetings, give this ink a go!

And then try it yourself with Copics to see if it is a suitable replacement for you. If not, you will still have the most vibrant, rich, black ink for all of your other stamping needs. And that's well worth it.

This project features a stamped background mixed with one of the patterned papers from the kit. Mixing and Matching hand stamped patterned paper with printed patterned paper creates lots of texture and dimension to your card projects and creates a beautiful backdrop for your focal image.

I added a little sparkle to the card by coloring along the lines with a Sakura Stardust Pen in Clear Star.

Spring Parade!- The new StampTV Kit

Good morning everyone!

Welcome to our Spring Parade Blog Hop featuring the brand new Spring Parade StampTV Kit.

Before we get started, I wanted to take a moment to let you know that our very our Sean Fetterman suffered a heart attack yesterday and spent the day in ICU. He had a clogged left artery and they were able to put in a stint but he will remain in the hospital for the next few days. You KNOW how much we LOVE Sean and we know how much you do too, so today's blog hop is dedicated to him. We love you so much Sean- please take care of yourself and get well soon!

Speaking of cards...
WE HAVE A BRAND NEW KIT!

I know how excited all of you will be when you see this one. It's called Spring Parade and it's full of stamp sets, patterned paper, ribbons, brads and our gorgeous Pure Luxury card stock.

The card I made for Sean today features the stamp set, "Shine On!," part of this new kit.

Sean is always such a shining ray of light to all of the members of StampTV so I thought I would send him this little card.

I used the Tomato Soup and White card stock and two of the new patterned papers from the Spring Parade kit. I also added some of the white brads and ribbon from the kit.

I colored the bird with Copic markers and then added a little sparkle to the umbrella and boots using a Sakura Stardust Pen.

I adhered the focal image piece to the card using 1/4" pop dots.

I just love how these colors go together. They are so fresh and on-trend. In fact, these are all colors straight from the Patone Spring Fashion report so not only will your cards be adorable, but fashionable too! :)

I love this greeting because it can be used for so many cards of encouragement.
"In any kind of weather, I'm here for you!"

And adding a little stardust glitter pen to the focal image reflects all the shine and sparkle to brighten someone's day.

SNOW DAY- Yesterday we had a pretty big snow storm and none of our staff could make it in to work. That set us back an extra day for video editing, uploading and shipping. We think mother nature may not be a paper crafter.

Due to a manufacturing delay, we are at about 10-14 days shipping time for orders placed during our new release. We apologize for the delay and we should be completely caught up by the middle of next week.

Out of stock items- a couple of our new sets are either sold out of at very low inventory. We have already reordered these items and they should be back in stock within 7-10 days. We are so happy that you love our new sets!

Soup's on!

Last night on facebook, I posted a photo of a soup I made that is somewhere between zero and one weight watchers point per serving. There are lots of recipes out there but I really like this one so I'm sharing it with you.

Zero Point Soup*

Broth:
5 cups of vegetable broth
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
salt to taste

Veggies:
1 large onion
1 bag of frozen medley (cauliflower, broccoli, carrots)
1 can of cut green beans
1 red pepper
(You can add other vegetables that that you like as well. Stay away from things like any kind of potato, beans, corn, peas- too starchy and will add points.)

In a pan, spray some cooking spray and sautee one cut up onion and one red pepper for a few minutes.
Mix broth ingredients in a large pot and start to cook on high heat until it starts to boil, then turn to medium.
Add sauted vegetables, bag of frozen medley and drained can of green beans.
Simmer on stove for about an hour or so or until all vegetables are soft and soup is hot.

5 one cup servings

* Keep in mind, even the lowest calorie vegetables have some calories so eat enough to feel satisfied but you may not want to eat the entire pot at one sitting. :)

Transform... it's my word for 2013...

It's not just about transforming the physical... it's about the mental side of life too.

I let things get to me, way too much and way too often. And they got to me to a point where my body became physically sick. Waking up felt like just too much. The aches, the pains... and they were not just physical pains but they were mental pains too. I went to the doctor. My blood pressure was through the roof... and my diabetes was out of control. I had no energy and my heart was racing all the time.

I learned over the last couple of years that if you want to protect your body, you have to first protect your mind and your soul. You have to get rid of the thoughts that over time will make you sick, or worse... they will kill you.

I lost my best friend to cancer a little over a year ago and, although on the surface she was the most positive person I ever met, underneath- she worried... about everything, and she took everything that everyone said to heart. If they were upset, she was upset. She tried to fix everything for everyone. She wanted everyone to be happy. She was the most selfless person I EVER met. And she's gone.

The thing that she didn't understand, (and it's something I am only just beginning to understand) is that some people are happy being unhappy. It's their comfort zone. To feel defeated is easier than doing the work. To blame others is easier than blaming themselves. It's safer to agree with the pack than stand up for what's right and find yourself alone.

Some people will always have a problem with you, no matter what you try to do to fix it. But rest assured- it's not you, it's them. It's really, really, REALLY them. And they are so unhappy- no matter how happy they look on the outside.

So what do you do to deal with it?

You simply let it go.

You let them go.

You can be pleasant and kind but you have to mentally walk away. You can't fix it, you can't change it, you can't help them... you have to let it all go.

And you know what will happen to you if you let it all go? You will find peace like you have never experienced before. You will make room for the postive people who have been waiting for your attention.

In my case, I felt born again. I wanted to eat better, I wanted to exercise, I wanted to work on my business and I wanted to enjoy my children... and I could do it all, guilt free!

When you let go of what holds you back, you will spring further than you ever thought you could!

As of today I am down 10lbs. My blood pressure is perfect and my diabetes in under great control. I haven't had a headache in weeks! My business is growing, my marriage great and my children are learning and growing every day.

Is it perfect? No. But I read that a true champion has long term memory of her successes and short term memory of her failures so I refuse to dwell on the failures. You will only see me dwelling on the positives. It's where I prefer to live.

It's not easy. There's a LOT of self-talk. You have to replace what you've heard in your head with what you should be hearing... and it takes time. Lots of time. But time well spent.

And now that I've started to let go of the negative, it's no longer poison... it's FUEL. Try me... Go ahead... Tell me I can't do something... Watch me...

this journey... it's my year to transform. It's only February... come with me...

Shipping update:
