Here are just a few things that I've found looking around this morning...if I find better things I will update again later!

Fareway has Velveeta Cheese on sale for $3.99 a box. Print this coupon (look to bottom left of page) for $1 (I think you can print up to two) for a great deal at $2.99 box!

Target has a coupon on their website for $1 off Mott's Applesauce cups. You can combine that with this coupon for .55 (Print up to two) for a total savings of $1.55! You can also print Target coupons in the store at the gift registry kiosks.

Walgreen's is having a deal that if you spend $25 on Huggies diapers you get $10 back in Rapid Rewards. Combine that with these coupons for $5 and $3 off and you have a great deal! (I found the coupons on page 9, and you can print two of each!)

If you go to Super Saver to match ads and do a bit of shopping, make sure you print this coupon from their site for a free Lunchables (limit 2) with a $10 purchase!

Oh, my friends, has my household been turned upside down and inside out in the last month. My shopping and deal finding has been extremely limited, and my time on the computer even more so. But, I had a few hours this morning to myself and I was able to scout out a few things that hopefully you will like too.

Walgreen's

Pantene Nature Fusion is on sale for $2.99/ bottle. I had a coupon for $2 off 2 bottles, and there is an Easy-Saver Rebate for $3/2 that I will send in. After all of that, I will get the Pantene for .49 a bottle! That's a great deal!

Dove Bar Soap is on sale with in-ad coupon for .99 a bar. The coupon is good for 3 bars, so grab three coupons and 8 bars of soap before heading to checkout. There is a Register Rewards given back for $8 with the purchase of 8 Dove products, and this soap is included in that deal! Do the math, and you get them for free! $8 in RR is a great thing to use next time you head to Walgreen's, and it is good for 2 weeks after issue date.

Colgate Toothpaste (Max fresh or Max White) is on sale for $3.29 a box. There have recently been a few .75 Colgate coupons, so use one of those and bring the price down to $2.54. I received a RR certificate for $3.50 for one box of toothpaste, so it's like getting it for free plus a .96 credit!

Hy-Vee

I haven't completely done gone through my ads for this week, but I noticed that Hy-Vee has 8 oz. bags of shredded cheese for .99. This is a serious good deal, and since shredded cheese freezes well I stocked up! Now we have enough to last us awhile, and at that price it's a great bargain!

Super Saver deals

I was price-matching at Super Saver (just south of 144th & Q) today and ran across a few hard-to-beat deals. I realize that Super Saver may not be accessible for everyone because there is only one that I know of in Omaha, but this is worth a swing-by if you are anywhere close!

First:

No Frills has Old Orchard Apple Juice blends on sale for .98. Super Saver allows price matches, and they also have coupons on their website for certain things each week. This week they have a $1 off Old Orchard Apple Juice blends! Do the math, and it comes out free!! With a .02 credit!

Also, I wanted to price match my Multi-Grain Cheerios and use the coupon I printed out earlier, but the Baker's ad specifies that the boxes are up to 12.25 oz. Super Saver only carried 12.8 oz boxes, so I asked if that would work and they let it go through. With the coupon those boxes were .92 a piece. BUT, on every box of Multi-Grain Cheerios, there was a coupon for "Buy 2 General Mills cereals, get one free (up to a $4 value!)" So I was able to get three boxes of cereal for $1.84, which comes out to .61 a box!

I love good deals! :)

GM cereal, select varieties (they show Honey Nut and Multi-Grain Cheerios in their ad) $1.67 for 9-12.5 oz. boxes. I have a few General Mills coupons in my stash, but you can also print a .55 coupon here for Honey Nut and a .75 coupon here for Multi-Grain. (For some reason I am not able to connect directly to the Multi-Grain coupon. Click the link and then go to pg. 4. You should find it there.) That makes the Honey Nut total $1.12 and the Multi-Grain .92 a box!

Deal on salmon at Target

If you are a fish-eater, then you may be interested in a quick deal I found at the Super Target near 120th & Center today. In a freezer end-cap I found several boxes of Archer Farms brand "Wild Caught Lemon Herb Salmon fillets" on clearance, which means first come first served! The box holds 4-5 oz. fillets and I bought a box for .84! At .21 per fillet, that's a pretty good deal. The previous price had been $3.49.

They can be cooked in the oven, stove, or grill, and it's a great thing to have on hand, especially at that price. If you happen to be in the area, I would suggest a quick look to see if they have any left!

Tomorrow morning (Feb. 3) Denny's Restaurant is giving everyone a free Grand Slam breakfast from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. If you are in need of a good start or just a morning brunch, this is a deal too good to pass up.

One more Walgreen's Deal

I went to the Walgreen's at 170th (ish) & Center tonight and got in on a great deal on Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner. They have their 13 oz. bottles on sale for 2/$7, and there is a coupon in their Easy Saver Rebate catalog (located by the ads in the front of the store) for $2 off one bottle (you'll need to grab 2 coupons), making them $1.50 a bottle. This is pretty good by itself, but this particular store also had a display near the front of the store with coupons for $1 off a bottle of Garnier Fructis. So I grabbed two of those, used all the coupons and only spent .50 a bottle!

I don't recall seeing these coupons in my "regular" Walgreen's, but it may be worth checking out or stopping by if you are in West Omaha. This deal will expire on Jan. 31.

It usually is!

But...I wanted to let you all know that the coupon I posted a few days ago for free buffets at The Amazing Pizza Machine is the exception to the rule! It does sound too good to be true, and I've had a number of people ask me if it was legit. Well, tonight we printed off one coupon for each person in our family and we all ate for free! Can't beat that!

The coupon is good until Jan. 31. So you have one week to get in on it!

Based on coupons in today's paper, here are a few deals that you can cash in on. It may be worth your while to buy a few papers this week!

Skippy Peanut butter (I've read that jars of peanut butter are considered safe and are not affected by the recall)
Ragu Pasta Sauce

These are both $1.99, but if you purchase 8 of any combination of things found under this deal in their ad, you get $10 in Walgreen's register rewards back (good on a future purchase). So, combine that with coupons for both Skippy and Ragu in today's paper, and it's like getting them for .44 each!

Price Matching and Coupons

Bag and Save has Lipton Knorr Side Dishes on sale for .69. Coupon in today's paper for .60/2. Total=.39 with the purchase of two. We love these for a quick and easy supper! Add chicken and broccoli pieces to the pasta dishes and it's done!

Bakers has Quaker Rice Cakes (3 oz.) on sale for $1 a bag. Coupon in today's paper for $1 off. Which makes them FREE! These are very popular snacks around our house.

Other deals

In Sunday's paper there was a coupon and a rebate form for a free Canister of Windex Wipes or Antibacterial multi-surface cleaner. The request must be postmarked by March 6, and the rebate is good up to $4.50 This is a great way to get some cleaning solution for free!

Clothing deal at Once Upon a Child

I got an email from Once Upon a Child this morning telling about a clearance sale they are having on some fall/winter clothing. I ran over there and found several items of clothing all discounted to just $1 a piece. They have all sorts of sizes...not huge selections in every size but I was able to grab a few things that we needed. I spent $5.34 for 6 items of clothing (one was a two piece set)--if I had bought them at the original Once Upon a Child price I would have spent $53! So that's a pretty decent discount.

If you are not familiar with the store, they are located just north of 144th and Center on Arbor St. They carry kids' consignment clothing and items.

It may be worth checking out if you are in need of anything for your kids!

We were plagued with many a sickness around our house over the last several weeks, so I'm sorry to say many deals were skipped over! But, I was out again today and I found kind of a fun deal at Super Saver on Kellogg's Rice Krispies. I still had a few coupons left over from a few weeks ago when there was a $1 off one box of Rice Krispies. If you still have that coupon as well, this may be worth checking out.

Rice Krispies were on sale for $1.98. On most of the boxes was a coupon for $1 off any size or brand marshmallows. I grabbed a box and went to find the marshmallows. In the front of the store by the checkout there was a cart filled with a special choc/van swirl marshmallow, on clearance for .75. So here's how it came out:

1 box of Rick Krispies=$1.98-$1 coupon=.98-.25 credit on the marshmallow coupon=.73 for a box of Rick Krispies. Plus I got a free bag of marshmallows!

Even if you don't have the cereal coupon it may be worth it to check it out if you are in the area.

Also, be sure to swing by Walgreen's to pick up Electrasol gelpacs or powerball tabs 20 pack--they will be free if you combine the coupon in Sunday's paper along with the Easy Saver rebate that they make so easy to redeem online. And while you are redeeming rebates, get Revlon Matte Collection Lipstick, Eyeshadow, Blush or Pencil, FREE after Mail In Rebate -- Rebate limit up to $10.00.

I was out and about today. These are a a few of the deals I came across:

Bag and Save (144th & Center)

After my deal on free Strawberry Mini-Wheats and Fruit Loops cereal straws, I went out and bought two more papers to get more coupons. Getting it for free was one thing, but today I found on several of the boxes of cereal straws there was a coupon for $2 off a gallon of milk with the purchase of two boxes of cereal straws! So today, I bought:

2 boxes of Mini-Wheats (.01 credit each)
2 Fruit Loop cereal straw boxes (.01 credit each)
1 gallon of milk (.81 after coupon)
Kraft cheese 8 oz. blocks ($1.69 on sale)

2 boxes of cereal, 2 boxes of snacks, and one gallon of milk for .81!!! It may be worth it to swing by a Bag and Save near you and check out if they have the same deal.

Hy-Vee

Chex Snack Mix (sale price $1.25, coupon (print here) for .60 off= .65)
Dozen Eggs (sale price .98)

Also a deal at Hy-Vee this week is their 4x6 digital prints for .09 online. The code word is "holiday" to get the deal.

Remember to price match your Chex cereal from Super Saver's ad. Use the No Frills in-ad coupon and get each box for .66 with the purchase of 3!

Zooth toothbrushes (cute brushes...I got a few with "Barbie" on the end. In fact, they are cute enough to be stocking stuffers!)--sale price 2 for $4. Sunday coupon (from last Sunday's paper) for $1 off 2. Plus, you get $2 register rewards back (a "cash" coupon to use on your next purchase).

So...after all that it's like getting each toothbrush for .50!

Oral-B Stages Toothpaste for kids has the same deal with a coupon in Sunday's paper as well. I got two cute Princess toothpastes for .50 each!

Just make sure you separate your transactions so you get 2 register rewards certificates for your next Walgreen's purchase.

Also, Sun Silk shampoo and conditioner is on sale for buy one at $4.29, get one free. BUT, use a $2 off two from Sunday's paper and you get two bottles for $1.15 a piece!

No Frills Chex Cereal deal

If you haven't stocked up yet on your Chex, you have another chance! For this deal you'll have to go to No Frills and price match with Super Saver's ad. Super Saver has Chex cereal on sale for $1.66, and No Frills has a coupon in their ad for $3 off the purchase of 3 (can only be used at No Frills). So if you buy three boxes of Wheat, Rice, or Corn Chex with price matching and the coupon, that would make them .66 a box!

We've eaten almost all the Chex that we bought the last time this deal went around, so it's about time to stock up again! See you at No Frills!

Speaking of Melting Pot deals

I just checked my email and was reminded of a great gift card deal at The Melting Pot. If you are looking for a great teacher-type gift or something different for anyone on your list, The Melting Pot is offering a "Double Your Money" gift card deal. If you buy $100 in gift cards (you can put any amount on a card, but the total you buy should equal $100), then you will be given 4-$25 gift certificates!!!

If you have never tried this fondue restaurant, it really does make for a fun experience and would make a great gift for anyone, even yourself!!!

Several weeks ago I talked about the good deal on gift certificates from restaurant.com. Since then we have successfully used many of the certificates we purchased and have found a few new gems in our city.

And now the 80% off deal is back! But, to sweeten the pot a little more, they have added new restaurants, and one in particular got me excited. Most often the restaurants are locally-owned (which is a great way to support your local businesses), but right now you can purchase a $25 certificate to The Melting Pot at Village Pointe. Your bill has to total at least $35 to use the certificate, but that's easy to do at The Melting Pot.

If you are expecting a large group to go, they are also offering a $50 certificate for $4, but your bill has to total $100 to use that. Still, since you can only use one certificate per table, this may be a good option if you have a group of 6 or more.

Of course, there are many more restaurants to choose from, but this was a fun find. Just use the code "SANTA" at checkout.

Deal on Cereal at Bag&Save

Sometimes I search out good deals, and sometimes they find me. Today, that was the case. I was wandering through Bag & Save at 144th & Center and found they had Strawberry flavored Mini-wheats and Fruit Loops cereal straws for .99! I don't know if this is a sale isolated to this particular store, but it may be worth it to check it out! What may make your deal even sweeter is if you have a coupon from Sunday's paper (either this week or last, I'm not sure) for $1 off a box of Mini-Wheats and $1 off the Fruit Loops cereal straws. If you are doing your math, that means you get them for free like I did today!

Rotella's Bread Store

This is a deal that I've been meaning to write about for awhile now, and it may even be one that you've discovered already. However, I've lived in Omaha for almost 8 years and I just discovered Rotella's Bread store about 6 months ago.

If you are looking for a way to cut some of your grocery budget and are buying all of your bread at the grocery store, then it is seriously worth the trip to 108th and Harrison to buy your bread at the Rotella plant. (or whatever it is called) Today I bought 3 loaves of bread and 2 frozen pizza doughs for $4! Plus their bread is fresh and hearty. If you like wheat bread I highly recommend the wheatberry which is .95 for a huge 2 lb. loaf! Otherwise, their "normal" breads are usually .75 a loaf I think. They always have different kinds when I go there...and there is almost always a line of people waiting. (Saturday mornings have been particularly crazy, so try to hit it during the week if you can).

We also buy their frozen pizza dough for $1.07 a loaf. It makes an excellent crust and bakes perfectly. Tonight we will make a whole pizza for the total cost of under $4 , and we like it at least as well as going out!

Rotella's only takes cash or check, so be prepared for that when you go. It is unlike any other bread store you've been in, but it is worth putting up with a little line and paying cash. I buy extra and store it in my freezer, so I usually only have to go once or twice a month. If this would work for you, check it out!

I just was cutting out coupons today from Sunday's paper and there is a coupon in there for $1 off a purchase of 6 rolls of scotch tape. I'm disappointed I didn't use it yesterday but I thought it may be useful to someone out there. But look at the math! Buy 6 rolls for $2, use your $1 off coupon, and get a $2 rebate! Basically they will pay you $1 to take it off their hands! :)

I know, I'm a freak. But when someone is going to pay me to "buy" something, I'm going to let them! :)
