Sorry about the late comic! I’ll get on that in a moment.

I like how the comic came out, although I still don’t think I’m catching as much of the feel in the sketches in the final product as I’d like. Something I’m working on. Lynn’s haircut has been weird too. Sometimes I get it and it looks great, other times it looks weird (not the style itself, with the random long bang. That’s just her own style oddity. I’ve seen people do weirder. Doesn’t mean it’s a good style, just some people like doing odd things with their hair).

Also, why did I design Ginger’s dad so huge? When there’s a large height disparity, I end up filling more panel with people and having less room for words. I’m taking it as another challenge to get creative around. I’m not sure how much it’s been showing up, but I’ve been really trying to improve lately.

That’s the first part of why the comic was late. Just anxiety of getting the comic to look right. I’ve been dealing with a lot of self doubt lately, but I really don’t want to make you suffer through my bitching so that’s all I’ll say on that. However, the comic still should have gone up on Monday. And it would have, if I hadn’t had a misadventure. Short version: I went to visit my mom in the hospital (she’s fine, just had surgery and had to stay overnight). I, however, had a bad reaction to being in the hospital and kind of passed out. Which, you know, a hospital is a good place for that to happen. However, when they were checking to make sure I was okay, apparently my heart rate was unexpectedly low so they wanted to do some quick blood work. Which took longer than quick. I’m fine, I just lost several hours to work on the comic. Longer story of the hospital shit here.

So yeah, fun times! How are all of you doing?

Also! Ginger’s fancy shirt in the bottom half of the comic is the same shirt worn by Max Facepuncher. If you don’t know who Max Facepuncher is, and by the name alone you want to, I’m going to direct you to the fancy comic by Jamie Anderson: The Fancy Adventures of Jack Cannon. It’s pretty amazing. And the shirt is fairly appropriate to Ginger’s challenge.

I’m back! I’m not quite dead! In fact I’m getting better!

This comic actually turned out different from the original idea. Which is what happens when there’s several days of crazy being sick to mess with the script.

Two things about it: 1 – I really need to go into greater detail about Ryan’s current role at Ginger’s Bread. The much asked for cast page will probably have this information as well if I ever have a chance to work on that. And 2 – I love how they realize how ridiculous this is. It’s one of those times where everyone just agrees what’s happening is completely bizarre… let’s see what happens. It is nice to see Ginger taking responsibility for being an ass at times.

In other news, I am all kinds of crazy enjoying being asked questions and I don’t know why. So feel free to ask me stuff on Formspring or if you’d like, on Tumblr, since I’m trying to use that more.

And we’re back! With the start of an arc! Here’s hoping 2012 works out much better than 2011. Next comic will be up this week because it must!

You’d think after this small break and the new year I’d more to talk about but I’m kind of tired and have forgotten.

Oh, right! I remember something I was going to mention: Lynn got a bit of a hair cut. I don’t know why she kept the long bit of bangs. Aside from losing the other long bit, it’s mostly just a trim up.

A number of other cartoonist are taking some time off right now, a few not returning until next week. I’m going to jump into that boat and the next comic will be up on January 9th. I decided to go with it this way because I’d rather start the year with comics I’m happy with instead of comics I forced up late anyway. Also, as we’re jumping into another story arc, I’d like the updates to be more consistent while we go.

Buh… Last minute idea + Holidays + plus more work for the comic than expected = super late comic. It would have been funnier a week ago, but the week after Christmas is almost as bad as the week before (people making returns, spending Christmas money/gift cards, post-Christmas sales, and New Year’s prep buying) so it still works! Kinda.

Man, it took me forever to be happy with the last panel (constant redraws is what took the comic so long). And I’m still not 100% with how Romana turned out. Since she changed outfits more frequently than the Doctor tends to, I decided to just go with her outfit from Destiny of the Daleks, which works well in the chill Michigan weather. I really wanted to also draw K-9 for shits and giggles, but I felt it would influence the alt-text too much when I’m leaving it up to you.

The Fourth Doctor is my favorite, I think. Although to be fair, I haven’t watched enough of the other Doctors (aside from the new series) to form full opinions on them. I really want that scarf too. So if anyone would like to give me a gift…

Huh, Ginger’s not sleeping much and is going a bit crazy with trying to take care of a lot of things at the end of the year… This doesn’t seem to be familiar to me in any way. Nope. Now then, time to take care of 90 different things before I can fit in a quick 3 hour nap!

Donation gifts are on hiatus. I haven’t had time to do a new one in months and the last few were lost in the hard drive crash a few months ago. I hadn’t changed the donate image for a while because there hadn’t been interest and I hadn’t had time. But recently there was donation so I felt I should fix that.

For the time being the tip jar is back and there’s no donation gift aside from a good feeling of knowing you’re helping the comic out. I’m hoping at one point to bring back the monthly donation image but first I want to get the comic updating regularly again.
