In a city like Lagos where the average person wakes up by 6am to make a 3 hours commute to work on the Island, it's only normal that people take very little time to take care of themselves. And the very little time we get to relax, we spend it at a wedding, birthday or whatever Owambe party there is.

I have found that there are increased number of women in Lagos who are actively making effort to take care of themselves, however, the larger percentage still do not. There are too many 40 year old women in lagos looking like they are 70 years old. You don't have to wait till you are 70 to start seeking ageless beauty, start now with these tips:

I know she has makeup on joor, but she looks good.

1. Drink lots of water: I know people say this often and it can never be stressed more. Water is very good for your system. If like me you do not like water, you can spice it up with a little lime or strawberry to spice it up a little bit.

2. Go without make up: Now, Calm down. I am not saying you should stop wearing makeup, I simply mean that once in a while you should forego makeup and let your skin take a breather. Take a lazy saturday for example, go to the market and do your running around without makeup.

3. Wash your makeup off completely: Key word here is WASH. Often people make use of facial wipes that don't always get the work done.

4. Smile more, Frown less: they say a smile is the best makeup a woman can wear; and it also saves you from wrinkles. Frowning gives you frown lines across your forehead, around your eyes and so on..... Smile Babe.

5. Exercise: I hate this one too, but we must admit it's very important. Do squats, sit ups, aerobics, exercise your face(with motions) and feel/look young

6. Detox: I am not talking about replacing food with those cleansing things oh.... I mean once in a while do a detox. I remember few years ago when I tried out the Maple syrup detox...... It was awful but I felt fresh and my next period was completely painless.... the experience was so good I have done it a few more times and its always a hit.

7. Rest: life is fast and we often move just as fast. But sometimes we need to stop and just take a break; Sleep, meditate, listen to music quietly, or just stay in a dark room and enjoy your presence (like I do sometimes, I promise you it is very relaxing)

8. Invest in some spa time: book a spa appointment as often as you can and let the professionals pamper your body to revitality. Trust me, Your body will thank you.

Driving or walking down the streets of Lagos is guaranteed to be fun at anytime, this city is like a circus.... there is always something to laugh about but make sure not to be the circus clown honey.
Here are 8 makeup mistakes many Lagos babes make.

1. Neck/Face Palavar: I honestly didn't know what name to give this hence, the Yeye one you read there. Simply put PLEASE ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOUR FACE AND NECK ARE THE SAME SHADE. I have seen this happen a lot in Lagos.... Even Makeup artists make this mistake. You use a shade of foundation that is tones lighter than your skin tone and then forget to match it with your neck? NA WA OH

2. Overly Highlighted Nose: I think the point of highlighting your nose is to draw attention to the nose bridge when light falls on it. In Lagos, you will find those conspicuous noses at wedding receptions and they look so shiny bronzed they could pass for table pieces....

3. Lashes: if you are going to have false lashes, please make it look as natural as possible or just don't bother. the best place in Lagos to find slug lashes is in the market.... those market women are obsessed with false lashes.. please go for better quality lashes and get a professional to fix them in for you...PLEASE

4. Blush: The other day i walked past a lady at the mall and I gave her male companion the stink eye thinking her blush was a black eye. If you look at your face in the mirror and the first thing that comes at you is your blush, please reduce it

5. Eyebrows: This isn't Just a Lagos problem, its a general problem. Nike looking browns, Broom looking brows e.t.c are all over the place. If you do not know how to get the perfect brows done, try the Henna Brows; that should last a few weeks with each application.

6. Match Match Spirit: the fact that the aso-ebi is red doesn't mean you have to wear red lipstick, blush, eyelashes, eye-shadow and so on. in fact, I would recommend you go for another colour palette so that your face pops..... JUST SAYING!

7. Wili-Wili Eyes: while highlighting or concealing below your eyes, please make sure you have VERY GOOD LIGHTING IN YOUR HOUSE.... pull the curtains so you don't end up looking like you forgot NIXODERM under your eyes.

8. Bleeding lipsticks: there is a reason God made those lines at the corner of your lips.... Follow that line. some people will apply lipsticks to their lips, nose and chin.....
TIPS: Use a lip liner to ensure you follow the curve of the your lips and then finish it off with lipstick.
After applying your lipstick, ensure you clean up any excesses outside the curve.

Blue lips? why not?

Hi guys,

Like some of you know, I love lipstick. I love buying them, wearing them and playing about with different colours.

My favourite lip colour is Red and would always be red coz it just sits perfectly for me. However, I also fell in love with blue lip colour back in 2012 at the London Fashion Week.

Why? What's not to love? The woman wearing it was black, she was at least 40 years old, she was bald and her personality was WOW! Honestly, I can never forget that woman.
Well she did mention at the time that she got her lipstick from illamasqua but when I went to the store,time I didn't fall in love.

2 years later I finally found my perfect shade. Unlike her I didn't find a lipstick but rather an eyeliner I ran into the other day. It's by a brand I havehave never heard before but it works perfectly.

How to pick the perfect pencil
1. The darker your skin, the darker the pencil should be.
2. The pencil should have a matte finish
3. It shouldn't have shimmer at all.

Healthy Wednesday: Cinnamon mask, Fighting Pimples and Acne, Getting Perfect Skin

Do you have a serious case of Acne or Pimples? Have you been left with dark spots from pimples or acne? I have a miracle super NATURAL treatment that would leave your skin looking lush.

So I heard about this treatment few weeks ago from a pharmacist but i went ahead and did my own research and all I got was good news. Its called the CINNAMON MASK.

I dont have acne or Pimples but I have spots from those little pimples I get at that time of the month.

You only need two Natural ingredients

1. Ground Cinnamon/ Cinnamon Powder

2. Pure Natural Honey

You would also need a bowl and a spatula to mix them

This is what the mixture should look like.

How to apply

1.wash your face with a mild face soap. This is very important for the process to work well

2. Wipe your face clean of every single drop of water with a clean towel to avoid burning

3. Tap the mixture on you face. Notice I said TAP... Do Not use the regular circular motion application used with scrubs or you might burn yourself.

4.Leave the mixture on your face for 15 to 20 minutes then rinse off thoroughly with cold water.

You can apply some natural oils to your face after drying your skin.

New hair, FOTD And crochet braids tutorial.

Hi guys,

I have finally uploaded a video successfully.

Last week I made a new hair and I posted some pictures on instagram and I had a few people who wanted to know how it's done. So today I made a very quick video for y'all and took a few pictures too.

Crochet braids is usually done with a crochet needle, however I have been all over Logos searching for crochet needle to no avail. One day I found a picture on instagram where the lady used bobby pins and the rest is history.

DIY: ANGRY SMILEY TEE

Hi guys,
So over the weekend I worked on a random DIY project and I just wanted to share it with you guys

That's the tshirt we are working with

Fold the top halfway and cut out the neck and sleeve

Put the stencil over the top and trace out the picture..... i used fabric marker

Tracing it with fabric marker

How to make a stencil

1. Print out your desired picture in black and white

2. Run cellotape over the entire page to make it stiff

3. Cut out only the parts that are black , leaving the white.

Hi Guys,

So about a month ago I was called to serve my "Nation". In all honesty I wasn't particularly kin on the whole Youth Service scheme.....I think its just a money laundering platform....(dnt quote me oh).

I did not mention I was going to be away from blogging for a while coz I was still in shock as to my state of deployment and just the whole thing to be honest.....If I decide to share my experience with you guys, I might have to start a new blog.......MY EYES HAVE SEEN.....Now I can understand why this country isn't moving forward.

DIY DISTRESS DENIM

Hi Guys,

So I have wanted to try out the distress denim trend for a while but it has just been hard. I usually don't have anytime theses days between getting myself to "work" getting back home and all that. Also shopping online and delivery is just a mess in this country: please if you know any reliable postal companies...please let me know.

Bearing all that in mind I decided to DIY.

How to
1. Get a pair of jeans that you can do away with

2. Sand paper the hell out of it to your taste

3. Feel free to rip a pocket.
4. Bleach it to your taste, I used JIG to bleach mine but it was a bit slow. If you know any products that will work well, USE IT
5. Rock it

Hello June.... dainty affairs + OOTD

Hi guys,

I know....~~.its 11th already and she is just saying happy new month kmt...~~ You Love me.
I promise to find solution to this my constant MIA status....... Also I apologize for not posting outfits of the day. Reason: well, I have kinda joined the workforce and I have to take that long journey to the Island every morning hence I cannot take pics coz I am rushing out and I cant take pictures when I get to the office coz I just jump straight into work.

However, over the weekend I was at the Dainty affairs event....... Well lets just say I wasn't very impressed. I think my expectation was just too high.
I took a few pictures here and there made some inquiry for my mum and just mostly ate cakes.......

Hope you are having a fantastic week? I am.

So if you read my last post,you would remember me mentioning wanting to do the big chop......well I did and I thought I will share the pictures with you. I already posted a few pictures on the Facebook page but then I realised not everyone knows there is a Facbook page.

when I did the chop my mum and sister were with me and they just kept laughing at me the whole time coz my hair looked a mess.
however, once I was done I did bantu knots and wrapped it in till the next day. the expression on my mum's face when she saw me the next day was priceless..... i sense she might be going natural soon.

I do not understand this pose myself....... so ashamed.
