After a mid-week disaster in which I accidentally nuked the site, I have a new site! The site is currently just the default Comic Easel plug-in (if you read a lot of other webcomics you may be familiar with it on other sites). However it is quite flexible and customisable so I plan to make a few tweaks if I get a chance.

Comic Easel also allows me to record the characters and locations featured in each page, so that you can click a link (above) and see every page they’ve been on. So, for example, you could see all the pages featuring Chesty McGuffin (who has appeared three times in three separate stories) by clicking the link. The only thing is, I have to go through the archives and update Comic Easel. I’ll let you know once I’ve gone through them all.

So… Yeah… New Site!

At the beginning of this evening I did not expect that by the end of the evening I would be running a different comic plugin and that the site would be somewhat transformed!

I try to keep up to date with the latest version of WordPress etc. However I noticed that I hadn’t updated Comicpress (the comic plug-in/theme which turns the blog into a comic site). So I hit update and – blam! – the site had a meltdown!

There was no option to revert to the previous version and although I regularly back-up the database, I hadn’t backed up the WordPress code.

So, after an initial panic, I looked at the back end and realised that it looked normal. So, I thought to myself: maybe I could install a different comic pug-in and migrate the data.

Comic Easel had a tool for migrating data from a Comicpress site, so I downloaded the plug-in, ran it and to my great relief, it (mostly) fixed the site. All that was left was to customise it.

It’s still a work in progress but at least it’s working!

Last week I received an amazing piece of art from Jerry Benedict of the comic Bunny Wiggins. Not only has Jerry done a masterful job of drawing Red, he’s also included the bus, a super cool font and Scotland in the background. I am completely blown away. Thank you so much Jerry.

I received an amazing piece of guest art (below) from Jerry Benedict of Bunny Wiggins fame. His rendering of Red blew me away and I am honoured that he took the time to make it. Thank you Jerry!

I would love just a few more responses to the Reader Survey. It only takes a few minutes to complete but it is really helping me to get a feel for what the readership wants me to focus on in the comic. There’s a suggestion box and everything! Now is the time to make your voice heard!

Blame it on the Bunny

For no particular reason I drew a piece of fan art for Jerry Benedict, the mastermind behind the webcomic: Bunny Wiggins.

If you like your webcomics shaken, stirred and then reshaped into rabbit form you may just get a kick out of this comic. Think James Bond minus Bond himself plus a bad boy bunny. There’s girls. There’s villains. …and then there’s villain girls!

For your eyes only, this is the Countess, one of his most intriguing characters.
