For the record, this isn’t the first time the Lactucans have appeared in Girls in Space.  A Lactucan discovers the body of the Galaxas Casino Manager in Push the Button.

Yesterday was Father’s Day (at least it was here, in Scotland).  I was thrilled when the boy gave me a box marked “Daddy’s Star Wars Kit” including: Wookie Cookies, Yoda Soda, Jar Jar of Gungan Gumballs, Vaderade, Bobba Gum and loads more customised snacks!  Han’s Rolos were a nice touch!

Continuing the plan of varying the angles and poses of the girls, I present a page with perspective (as used by real artists n’stuff!) or at least my best approximation of it!  Of course, given the events of page 10 I’ll have to be careful about the angles I draw Red!

After feedback from both the reader’s survey (still looking for feedback please) and the Webcomic List critique thread, I have been trying to vary the poses and angles that I draw the girls.  So, for the first time ever we have Red in profile in panel one!  We also have her front on in panel 2 and (it may not be obvious, but) Faye has her head cocked to the side in the second last panel!  It is certainly more challenging, but hopefully makes the page more interesting to look at.

Last week I posted that I has upgraded from Comicpress to Comic Easel.  Comic Easel can record each page’s characters and locations.  I love this feature – so last week I went through every comic in the archive and identified everything!  So, no matter which page you go to, you will get a list of characters and locations.  If you click the link, you get all the pages they appear on!

I also went through and tagged certain things in each page including the overall page number (today’s page is the 187th page of Girls in Space – looks like we’re not far off the 200 mark!)  I also tagged pages which contain running themes in the comic, so if you wanted to find, say, every page where Faye Loses Her Dress, you can!

I’m excited to point out that today’s page (page 17) means we are now half way through Colourblind!  Thank you all for reading so far – hope you are enjoying the story so far (yes I know black and white isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but we will have colour again next story).

After a mid-week disaster in which I accidentally nuked the site, I have a new site! The site is currently just the default Comic Easel plug-in (if you read a lot of other webcomics you may be familiar with it on other sites). However it is quite flexible and customisable so I plan to make a few tweaks if I get a chance.

Comic Easel also allows me to record the characters and locations featured in each page, so that you can click a link (above) and see every page they’ve been on. So, for example, you could see all the pages featuring Chesty McGuffin (who has appeared three times in three separate stories) by clicking the link. The only thing is, I have to go through the archives and update Comic Easel. I’ll let you know once I’ve gone through them all.
