Does warmer weather give you the urge to see your stylist for more than your six-week trim? Well these celebrities seem to have gotten the itch for a switch as well. Cate Blanchett debuted her new asymmetrical do at the Tony Awards last week. This is actually a little longer than the pixies Michelle has sported in the past, length at the top keeps some soft and breezy layers for her to play with. The soft platinum color is perfect, too. I think this is a great picture to take to your stylist if you’re thinking of cutting your hair short. Make sure the sideswept bangs hit at just the right spot to accent your cheekbones.

The heat certainly hit early this year, so you may already be sick of that summer hairstyling staple – the ponytail. Here are a few twists (literal and figurative) to keep the look fresh.

The Rope Braid

Bumble and Bumble created the rope braid at left for the Emanuel Ungaro. First slick hair down and smooth into a ponytail. Then create two sections and twist them together securing with bobby pins and a hair elastic.

Messy Textured Pony

The messy textured look worn high is from the Nasty Gal online catalog and features texturized hair secured with an elastic. A piece of hair is then wrapped around the elastic to cover the band and secured with a bobby pin.

Messy Low Pony

Another texturized low ponytail showed up in the J. Crew lookbook. This is created in much the same way as the textured pony above, just worn low so it’s a lot easier to pull off. Pull out a few pieces around your hairline to go with the textured vibe.
