The surprise engagement happened at KKK Cubao where my friend, Maro, is one of the managers.

I made a Tiffany and Co. inspired cake for their Engagement Cake. So sweet! I love it! :)

I'll be posting the "kilig moments" video on my next post! watch out!

This ABS-CBN series, "Be Careful With My Heart", has been one of the "KILIG" series I ever watched. It's been years since the last time I hugged a pillow just to express my "KILIG" feeling.

This is a a story about a simple girl Maya De La Rosa (Jodi Sta. Maria) who journeys to the big city to follow her dreams to become a flight stewardess to help her family. She would allow no one to stop her, not even the handsome, wealthy widower Richard Lim (Richard Yap), who threatens to ruin her dreams.

Ironically, Richard is her last hope in reaching her dreams because of his influence in the Airline Industry and he will only help Maya if she agrees to become his children’s temporary nanny.

Maya succumbs to the condition. But upon entering the Lim Mansion, she finds herself involved in the private lives of Richard and his three problematic children Luke (Jerome Ponce), Nikki (Janella Salvador) and Abigail (Mutya Orquia).

Maya sees that there are problems to be solved in the Lim family because since Richard’s wife died, the family’s joy died with her. And so Maya took it upon herself to bridge Richard to his children. And eventually, she succeeds in rebuilding the Lim family.

However, in repairing their broken hearts, Maya encounters bigger challenges that will test her strength and will challenge even her own heart. Because she falls in love with the kids and with Richard himself.

Do not TRUST XEND EXPRESS

2012-08-16T03:56:00.001-07:00

I've been selling stuffs online for 2 years now. My latest client is from Commonwealth Quezon City. She ordered cupcake boxes for her daughter's 7th birthday on Saturday, 18 Aug 2012. Last Saturday, Rowell of XEND Express picked up the package at my place in Paco, Manila. I was confident that the items will be delivered the following day or Monday the latest, but I was really shocked when my client called me last Wednesday, saying that she hasn't receive the package yet, until now, (thursday) the items are still somewhere I dont know. We, my client and I, tried our best to get hold of XEND's Customer service but unfortunately, due to their NOT SO PROFESSIONAL service, no one is answering the phone either it rings lang or busy. I tried to contact them via email and chat on their facebook page but NO LUCK still.

Now, I end up replacing the packaging and have my client pick it up even though I have a wedding to attend to tom, 17 Aug 2012. :( Wearing gown and make up I still need to meet my client for the boxes. Very Frustrating!I decided to use other courier service next time >:(

Here's the information of XEND Express:

HOTLINE: 806-XEND (which is NOT working at all)
Email: info@xend.com.ph (NOT WORKING)

Fifty Shades Obsessed

2012-07-08T05:04:00.002-07:00

Fifty Shades of Grey is a trilogy that made me go GAGA for the past weeks now. Here's a brief description of the book for better understanding:

About the book
Daunted by the singular sexual tastes and dark secrets of the beautiful, tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new career with a Seattle publishing house.

But desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven, and demanding Fifty Shades.

While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront her anger and envy of the women who came before her and make the most important decision of her life.

Erotic, sparkling and suspenseful, Fifty Shades Darker is the irresistibly addictive second part of the Fifty Shades trilogy.

One of my friends asked me make an Anniversary Cake with Fifty Shades of Grey as the inspiration. Wow!

I was really excited! I immediately created a pattern. Lol! After few trials and researches, I finally came up with a design:

Gumpaste 3D Handcuff topper painted with Silver Luster powder

I used the 3rd book "FREED" as my inspiration. I rolled the black gum paste to make a rectangular shape, same size with the book.

Here's the finish product of my addiction.... I hope I can still make other version of Fifty Shades inspired cake. Obsessed with you Christian Grey.ahahaha

Coaching Techniques

2011-03-09T19:11:00.001-08:00

Being a professor is not an easy job. I find it very tiring, stressful and fulfilling at the same time. Aside from teaching culinary and baking skills, I was also assigned to coach the Cake Decorating competition for the Chef on Parade. I’ve been doing this for 2 years now.

Last Tueday, 08 Mar 2011, I coached my 2 students for the Cake Decorating Competition for the InterBranch Competition: Chef on Parade, A Wedding Experience in Makati. Woke up at 5AM, geez…… I’m so sleepy, but I still need to wake up! My students are waking for me.

I decided to use non-edible decorating materials, peacock feather, chicken feather and purple orchids. As Rolled fondant is the perfect icing for Wedding cakes. We decided to use the rolled fondant from wilton. Here’s the outcome:

Sweet Confections by Giselle: How it started

2011-03-09T18:46:00.000-08:00

Ever since she was a child, Giselle always loved desserts. It is probably the reason why, at an early age, she spent her free time watching her father in preparing foods and desserts. Fascinated with her father's creations, she decided to try to create her own master piece. Asked her mom to buy her an ordinary toaster.

From a simple ready-to-bake cookie, for her family’s snack to the anticipated giant dark chocolate bar that she eats every “cheat” day, Giselle couldn't have enough sweets.

As a teenager, she began to dabble with baking cakes and cookies from recipes that she scavenged from magazines and cooking shows. She began to collect recipes from tin cans wrapper, supermarkets and Book sale. During her college years, when she started working on her Experimental Food Research, it was then when she began to develop her skills not only as a baker, but as a dessert designer and decorator.

Soon after, despite of being a Nutritionist/Dietitian, she began working as a Teacher for HRM students. Focusing on Culinary and Baking Skills. Teaching her students how to cook and bake, she was able to practice her skills. During this time,Giselle, also, experimented with different desserts, such as decorating cakes, truffles and cookies until she was able to perfect an exceptional dessert.

With a desire to please palates, Giselle decided to expand her talents beyond the enjoyment of only her family and friends and offer her signature creations to accommodate everyone's sweet tooth. The sky is the limit when it comes to Giselle’s Sweet Confections Nook. If you have any extraordinary desires for a special type of treat, Sweet Confections Nook is here to make your dessert dreams come true.
