Beautiful actress, Bisi Ibidapo Obe has revealed that the day her daughter
Destiny was born, is the happiest day of her life. She made this revelation
at the 'Celebrity Night-Out', a programme put together by Odua TV, Chaneel
204 on Startimes.

Despite the controversy surrounding the birth of the child, the
Omologbalogba actress said her birth gave her joy beyond measure. It will
be recalled that the alleged father of the girl, Hon. Dino Melaye refused
to take responsibility for the child and denied the paternity in the media
and on social networks.

Celebrity Night-Out is a special celebrity programmed by Odua TV. It is a
platform where celebrities are hosted and put on hot seats to answer
questions from fans, celebs, media and select guests. The event which
started with red carpet appearances by 5pm, had celebrities like ace
comedian Gbenga Adeyinka, fellow Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo amongst
others in attendance. It was a fun-filled atmosphere as friends and fans
alike trooped in to have a fantastic time with the beautiful Nollywood
star. Media executives, reporters, entertainment personalities and select
guests also turned out to party with the actress. It was a night of
excitement and merrymaking.

Bisi Ibidapo-Obe, also known as Bisi Omologbalogba, thrilled and excited
the crowd as she danced rhythmically to the tunes of the energetic live
band of Saint Janet.

Speaking on the happiest days of her life, Bisi enthused. "The day my
daughter, Destiny was born, was and is still the happiest day of my life. I
experienced love, greater than anything I had ever felt before, and I don't
think it can ever be replaced".

Host of the event, Mr Soji Omotayo spoke on the event. "It is our custom to
host celebrities regularly because we believe they should be celebrated and
appreciated for the effort they put in entertaining us. Besides, their fans
want to get to know them for who they really are, and so we try our best to
make that happen".

Others celebrities like Mercy Aigbe and Taiwo Hassan otherwise known as
Ogogo, have earlier been hosted by the entertainment channel.

A prominent national daily newspaper, (Daily Champion)
in Nigeria reported that the publisher of Our Daily Manna, Rev. Dr Chris
Kwakpowe, was assassinated at his home by unknown gun men. His full name was
printed in the controversial publication!

Even the CORRECTIONAL VERSION RE-PUBLISHED, STILL
CARRIED HIS FULL NAMES! This has caused panic and tears across the
Nigeria
nation, especially among ardent readers and beneficiaries of Our Daily Manna
devotional worldwide.

Findings however have shown that Dr Chris is alive and
well. Though the false publication has caused him to be very angry, reliable
sources say he is calm but has been asking his close associates questions such
as: "Is it a sin to be used by God, sleep just 2 hours a day and to succeed by
the grace of God?"

This is so, especially with various enemy blogs and
lies against him recently. Earlier on, it was uncovered that Dr. Chris received
a text message threatening that he would be blackmailed on the internet if he

Lagos:Four women beat policeman,charged to court

Four women were on Tuesday in Lagos arraigned in an Ebute Meta Magistrates' Court for allegedly assaulting a policeman.
The accused: Sharon Moses, 26, Emily Monday, 22, Cynthia Amaka, 21 and Sabina Osondu, 27, are facing a one count charge of assaulting a police officer.
Moses, resides at DLA Road Asaba, Lagos; Monday at No19 Church St, Ikorodu, Lagos; Amaka, No.9, Atiba close, Value Estate Dopemu, Lagos while Osondu, lives at Nigeria Airforce Base, Ikeja, Lagos.
The Prosecutor, Mr Samuel Ishola, told the court that the crime was committed on April 19, at Ritalori Hotel, Bode Thomas St, Surulere, Lagos.
According to him, the four accused lodged in a room at the hotel but t
he manager told them that four people cannot stay in a room.
Ishola said that the four accused refused to leave the room, even when the manager returned their money to them.
He said that the manager invited the policeman assigned to the hotel to chase them out but rather the accused pounced on the police officer.
He said that the accused assaulted the police officer by beating and tearing his uniform.
He said that the alleged offence contravened Section 172 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The Magistrate, Mrs M.O. Tanimola, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 each with a surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case to May 15 for mention. (NAN)

Man caught inside roof top of a shop twice

A 30-year- old security guard, Ebi Robert Abariko, wept bitterly at an Ijeshatedo Magistrate's Court, pleading with the Magistrate to spare him the agony of going back to prison because he was recently released from custody on bail.

He told the court that his wife had just delivered a baby girl and if he was confined in prison custody, his wife and the new baby would suffer since his wife does not have any means of livelihood to support the family.

Abariko, was said to have been caught in a roof of a shop where he went to steal pampers, provision, cosmetics and perfumes valued N220, 000, belonging to Mrs Santes Bob, who owns the shop.

However, his pleas to the presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.O Gbajumo, fell on deaf ears. Abariko, who is from Delta state, was said to have just been released from Kirikiri prison last Month and he went back to commit similar offense that has now landed him in prison again.

The father of two was caught inside a shop roof at 224, Ijesha road, Ijeshatedo, Lagos where he went to steal. He was unlucky again and was caught and he escaped been lynched by an angry mob.

He was said to have succeeded in burgling another shop at number 142 of the same street within the vicinity belonging to Mrs Mariam Salami, while he was still facing trial at the same court.

When he was arraigned in court, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Kunle Shonobare told the court that Abariko had similar matter in the court which he was granted bail and he went again to committee the same offense.

However, Magistrate Gbajumo, granted him bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum. She adjourned the matter to April 24, 2013, when he would be facing another matter in the court. While he was being taken to the prison, he told Crime Alert that he was a security guard and his monthly salary is N15, 000, which he said was not enough to take care of his family.

Bricklayer arrested with 5 guns

Two AK47 rifles and 17 magazines with 30 rounds, were last Wednesday recovered from the home of an armed robbery suspect, Kazeem Adebola.
A bricklayer by profession, 30-year-old Adebola, who resided with his wife and child at Orisumbare Street, Ayobo, Lagos, had hidden the arms in the ceiling of his kitchen.
The arms were allegedly being kept for a notorious armed robbery gang, said to be responsible for a robbery attack in Victoria Garden City last month and a host of other robberies at Ajah.
During the raid on his home by the Special Anti Robbery Squad, Ikeja, three other AK47 rifles and 16 magazines were a
lso recovered from a Honda Civic Coupe with number plates FST 592 BC, parked within the compound.
In an interview with PUNCH Metro, the suspect however denied his involvement with armed robbers. Adebola said, "I don't know the members of the gang you are talking about. The person known to me among them is a childhood friend, Asumo. It was Asumo who brought the car to my house. I didn't even know he was a robber then.
"He just told me he wanted the car parked at my home and I agreed. After he left, I searched the car myself and discovered some guns and ammunition. I decided to remove some for safe keeping in my kitchen. I have never gone with them on any robbery attack."
Two of the rifles were said to belong to policemen who were killed in a shootout with the gang while trying to flee VGC after attacking three homes. The rest came from policemen attached to Ajah, Maroko and Lion Building respectively after they had been killed by the gang.
Police sources told PUNCH Metro that the SARS team who raided Adebola's home initially recovered only two of the weapons.
He said, "Adebola denied that there were any more guns or ammunition in the house so we went back to our office with only two guns. However, our informant insisted that there were more guns hidden there. It was after intense interrogation that Adebola gave in and confessed that there were more.
"We had to go back to the house for a second time and climbed into the ceiling to retrieve 17 magazines. It was on this second trip that we discovered the car parked in the compound. The way it was covered right up to the tyres, no one would suspect that there was a car underneath the tarpaulin. It was within a specially created compartment within the car that we discovered three more guns and 16 magazines."
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umaru Manko confirmed the arrest.
He said, "Adebola was given up by one of his gang members, Ibrahim Akanbi, after he was arrested by SARS operatives at his Isolo home.
"It was Akanbi who led SARS operatives to Adebola's home at Ayobo. A total of four suspects have been arrested in connection with this case. The other gang members still at large are responsible for so many robbery incidents in the south west. Efforts are being made to apprehend them."

Pastor charged for stealing female church member's underwear

The police in Lagos on Monday arraigned a 25-year-old pastor, Tommy Issachar, over an alleged stealing of a female church member's underwear and N10,000 cash.
Issachar, who resides at No 35, Mafoluku St., Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos, appeared before an Oshodi Magistrates' Court in Lagos, on a two-count charge of breach of public peace and stealing.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Kehinde Olatunde told the court that the accused committed the offences on April 12 at Mafoluku, Oshodi.
He said that the accused stole two pants, one bra and a cash sum of N10,000 belonging to Mrs Gift Bassey.
"The accused, a pastor of All Nations Evangelical Church, Oshodi, was invited to a programme at the headquarters of the church, which was t
he complainant's church.
"The complainant and her husband accommodated him (pastor) in their house for three nights to conduct a special prayer session related to her husband's business," he said.
Olatunde said that after the accused had left their house, the complaint discovered that two of her pants, (her only black and white pants), one black brassier and the sum of N10,000 were missing.
"In the process of finding, it was discovered that the said underwear were taken by the accused without the complainant's consent..
"At first, the accused denied taking those underwears but later confessed that he actually took them. He said that he wanted to use them to pray for her, but denied taking the money," the prosecutor said.
Olatunde said that after the underwear was recovered from the accused, he had been sending series of threat text messages to the complainant.
"The accused always send her text messages, threatening to eliminate her on or before August ending," he said.
Olatunde said that the offences committed contravened Sections 166 and 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011. The Section provides that if convicted of stealing, the accused is liable to three years imprisonment.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The magistrate, Mr Akeem Fashola, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000, with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case till May 8 for mention.(NAN)

Church official statement over nollywood star shameful wedding distruption

The Overcomer's Church World Outreach, where the wedding between Nollywood actor Solomon Akiyesi to a new wife was disrupted today by his legitimate wife, has responded to the incidence
What was meant to be a day of celebration – the wedding ceremony of one of our members Uloma Agwu to Mr. Solomon Akiyesi at the Overcomers Church World Outreach in Aguda – was sullied by an ugly incident. Immediately following the praise and worship session and before the officiating commenced, a woman who claims to be the lawful wife of the groom disrupted the ceremony. She was accompanied by people who sought only to wreck havoc in the church. They were unruly and violent.
We regret the ugly series of events that followed this brash display. At the Overcomers Church, we do our due diligence to ensure a coup
le set to wed is right in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of God. To the best of our knowledge, Mr. Akiyesi, was unmarried. The Overcomers Church World Outreach regrets that the woman who disrupted the wedding chose such a time to do so. There is no ideal situation here, but it would have been right that she bring the case before church officials in a manner befitting a house of worship. This was not the case.
The groom, Mr. Akiyesi, has apologized to the Church, his bride-to-be, Ms. Agwu, and family and friends that gathered for the wedding. "This happened because I tried to cut corners," he said. He admits he did not properly dissolve his previous marriage to his first wife and says he is determined to do what is necessary to rectify the awful situation. We apologize for the ugly scene this caused at our Church and apologize to those who witnessed it. It is not exemplary behavior and not who we are as a Church.
The General Overseer of the Overcomers Church World Outreach, Bishop N.E. Moses, addressed the congregation after order was restored.
Bishop Moses prayed for the couple, Mr. Akiyesi and Ms. Agwu, but he did not legally wed them – no documents were signed so as not to disobey the law. Mr. Solomon Akiyesi and Ms Uloma Agwu will not be legally joined together until the matter is properly settled by lawful authorities. Our Bishop has urged us to take a lesson from this and be careful of the decisions we make in life, so the consequences don't hurt us in the future. It is a lesson we take well.
We stand by Ms. Agwu. She has been a dedicated member of the church and we will continue to support her and Mr. Akiyesi. It is our hope and prayer that in all of this, God is glorified and His house of worship above reproach.

NNPC GMD's Brother assasinated

Unknown gunmen believed to be hired assassins on Sunday, trailed and shot dead the younger brother of the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr. Andy Yakubu along Kachia-Kaduna express road.

The GMD's young brother, Yohanna Yakubu had gone to his village in Zango Kataf local government area of Kaduna State over the weekend to visit family members.

A family member who confirmed the incident told LEADERSHIP that late Yohanna was shot dead by the assassins in the presence of his wife, his Sister in-law, and a little baby who had followed him to the village.

A security source told LEADERSHIP that the gunmen in conjunction with their collaborators trailed the GMD's younger brother from Kaduna to his village to attend a funeral.

He said, "The deceased was travelling with his wife, his in-law and little girl before they were ambushed in the middle of the road around Kachia local government area, the gunmen shot him dead, and left his wife and little baby unhurt."

Confirming the incident, spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Aminu Lawan, said the command has since embarked on investigation that will lead to their arrest.

Daily Manna Publisher Chris Kwakpowe wade off allege blackmailers

Our Daily Manna Publisher, Rev. Dr Chris Kwakpowe, who was recently presented in the media as being involved in an illicit affair with a lady purported to be his secretary, has actually been lawfully and happily wedded to the lady in question for 13 solid years. The union between the shepherd of The Manna Prayer Mountain Ministry and Flora (Nee Igugu) was legalized on June 30, 2000, at the Ughelli North Local Government Registry (Delta State), a few months after traditional engagement in 1999.

Information from reliable sources indicates that Dr Chris, a pharmacist with a degree from the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State, has been pinpointed for a highly orchestrated blackmail. Click to continue reading.

And in the last few years, those who have vowed to bring him down because of his rising profile, especially due to the success that his quarterly publication, Our Daily Manna, have engaged in high level plot aimed at tarnishing his hard earned reputation.

A very reliable source (a pastor) confirmed to us "Before Our Daily Manna started in 2001; no one looked the way of Dr. Chris. He was neglected totally and abandoned by all. But because of the success story of his publication and ministry, they are coming after him now."

Before the publication began, Dr Chris was having it rough in all areas of his life. He was frustrated financially, emotionally and in all ramifications. Between 1994 and 2001, he was abandoned by those he loved and cared about. He was distraught and went into acute depression due to that.

That was why he bought a rope and attempted to kill himself (suicide)! "I heard that he bought a rope and hung it around a ceiling fan to kill himself when he heard a voice that told him to stop. That he would be successful in writing inspirational pieces for Christians. And that was the birth of Our Daily Manna!

The publication which started with his wife had 50 copies printed on the first edition. Half of that (25 copies) were complimentary copies, while the remaining 25 were given out on credit. Over the years, the publication struggled; he was in debt, pain and penury till he broke through!

On Monday, March 4, 2013, between 8-9pm, his office in the church was broken into. And the church's data base was the target. The computers which contained the church's database of partners and members were stolen. And the case was promptly reported to the police.

Another reliable source confirmed that, "After the case was reported to the police and they visited the church, we now realized that the intention of the perpetrators was to use our database to blackmail Dr Chris and partners of the ministry. This could lead to Dr Chris being implicated as the brain behind the phantom extortions. That was their plot."

Earlier on, we learnt that Dr. Chris received a text message threatening that he would be blackmailed on the internet if he fails to part with 250million Naira! He was also advised to get in touch and not inform the police.

But the amiable and publicity-shy shepherd of The Manna Prayer Mountain Ministry is not a stranger to blackmail. About a year ago, from the church, a young girl was abducted by a woman. But before she could escape with the little girl, she was accosted. On interrogation, a knife and a big stone was discovered in her bag. She was beaten mercilessly, and she confessed that her mission was to kill the girl, dismember her and bury some of the parts in the church compound. Then they would eventually inform the police about a missing child, and the dismembered parts would be discovered. This would have labeled Dr Chris as a ritualist.

The lady was arrested and locked up at the police station, and while the abductor was there, she removed all her clothes and everyone ran helter-skelter. She later pleaded to insanity and those who came to bail her claimed she was unstable. The case never got to court.

Also about two years ago, another lady came up, accusing Dr Chris of being responsible for her inability to get married, following an accident at his crusade at the stadium. She said she fell down in the crowd and lost some of her teeth, that her fiancée abandoned her as a result of that. The lady sued for N200 Million!

Year after year, different shades of mischief makers have always cropped up, throwing different kinds of accusations to paint Dr Chris black. "This recent onslaught is not new," our insider told us. "They will still come with more, and they will not succeed."

Okah was sentenced on Tuesday to in effect 24 years' imprisonment for 13 counts of terrorism, including engaging in terrorist activities, conspiracy to engage in terrorist activities, and delivering, placing, and detonating an explosive device in January.
"These are serious charges...," Judge Neels Claassen said in handing down sentence.
"The accused has not accepted any responsibility for the crimes committed, nor has he shown remorse."
Okah was also found unfit to operate weapons.
His wife told journalists she was happy their four children
were on holiday, and that she was thinking of how to tell them.
"The kids are the ones I am worried about.... I will get over it, but I need to protect the kids."
She said the next step was to appeal. She expected the State to appeal because it had wanted the maximum sentence.
"We have come this far and I just ask for strength going forward," she said.
As police were about to escort Okah to the court holding cells, he turned and blew kisses to her. She smiled as she jokingly caught the kisses, before blowing him kisses.
Nineteen police officers were present in court during the proceedings on Tuesday.
The State and Okah's defence indicated they would appeal the sentence.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokeswoman Phindi Louw declined to say whether the State would appeal for the imposition of a heavier sentence.
"No sentence is ever too soft, but as the NPA we do accept these results. But we are mapping the way forward to appeal against the sentence," she said.
In sentencing Okah, Claassen said it would be wrong for the court to turn a blind eye to the fact that the "struggle in Nigeria was for a good cause" and said it was important to balance Okah's political intentions with the violent nature of his crimes.
He found three "compelling circumstances" justifying a lesser sentence.
The charges related to two car bombs detonated in Abuja, Nigeria, on October 1, 2010, the anniversary of the country's independence. Twelve people were killed and 36 were injured.
Another bombing took place in Warri on March 15, 2010 at a post amnesty dialogue meeting. One person was killed and 11 were seriously injured.
In both bombings, two car bombs went off minutes apart. The cars were parked in close proximity to each other.
Claassen sentenced Okah to 12 years' imprisonment for each of the bombings, and to 10 years for threats made to the South African government after his arrest in October 2010. The 10 years would run concurrently with the 24 years.
Outside the court, prisoner rights activist Golden Miles Bhudu stood at attention, dressed in orange prison overalls with chains wrapped around him.
There were two posters at his feet. They read: "Henry Okah is a political detainee & not a terrorist, says Sapohr" and "Henry Okah's trial re-enacts Rivonia trial of 1964, says Sapohr."
Sapohr is the SA Prisoners' Organisation for Human Rights.
Bhudu told people gathered around him that South Africa had no right to put Okah on trial for something which happened in Nigeria, and that Okah was not a terrorist

stormed the party in a grand style to celebrate the Fuji artiste.
The event which most people acclaimed the best at the moment
also had lots of showbiz stars at the party. Even when the venue had been
filled up, lots of fans were still eager to come into the hall. It took great
work from security team to control the crowd.
Few minutes after the red carpet had started, the celebrant,
Malaika stormed the event.
Attention was shifted to him. He was surrounded with Ushers.
He was shown great respect and standing ovation. Photographers and camera men
were all on him. In fact, fans assembled to sign autographs at the event venue.
After the red carpet, M C announced that the celebrant had
arrived. With ushers, he was moved to the V I P of the hall.
Suddenly he was called, what came out of his mouth was,
thank God for his life. And he could not believe the love lots of people were
showing him.
"I don't even know what to say. I thank God for everything.
Clocking 40th on earth is not an easy task. I believe in God who has
been supporting me. I know he could do better. I thank my fans who came from
Nigeria, U S A, France and other places. They have been supporting me before
today. May God reward everyone who has made this successful. Malaika would not disappoint
you. This is just the kick. I'm just starting", he said.

the management of the Fuji King, it was added that the planning of the 40th birthday has really delayed Special Day video project. But Malaika's management
team has put finish touches to the most anticipated video. Malaika fans would enjoy the video during upcoming

Meanwhile, thanks giving had been held at SOS, motherless children
home, Isolo on last month, Friday 15 2013, the exact day he clocked 40th.
His fans, friends and family assembled on that day to mark
the birthday in a very laudable form.
The Fuji music star played and performed with the children
for almost hours dancing.

A 51-year-old woman on Wednesday pleaded with an Agege Customary Court to dissolve her 22-year-old marriage over alleged adultery and threat to life.

The petitioner, Mrs Titilayo Oluokun, a prophetess, who lives at 8, Aina Aladi St., Agbado, Lagos, told the court that her husband, though a pastor, went after "everything in skirt''.

"Four women had four children for my husband in the last three years and he also has numerous girl friends; I know some of them because they live on my street.

"I was in the church sometime in 2009 when a woman came with three children, claiming they belonged to my husband, who she said, had neglected her.

"It was a thing of shame because I am the founder of the church and also a prophetess, while my husband is one of the pastors.

"I gave the woman N20, 000 and begged her; I told her not to come to the church to disturb me again and when I told my husband, he only thanked me," she said.

The mother of two children aged nine and 18, told the court that she once brought her husband before another customary court and the case was settled there.

"In the other customary court in 2011, he was asked to write an undertaking that he would not impregnate any other woman again.

"To my surprise, he impregnated two women after that and I knew I had to call it quit with him.

"He beats me at every slight provocation and even threatens to kill me; he does not give the children money for feeding or pay their school fees.

"I got him arrested sometime last year because he wanted to stab me and at the police station, he was asked to move his things out of my house," she said.

The prophetess told the court that her husband had been living in the house which she built.

She urged the court to dissolve the marriage and give her custody of the children.

Her husband, Adewale, did not appear in court and had also been absent in the last two sittings.

The Court President, Mr Emmanuel Sokunle, adjourned the case to April, 3, for further hearing. (NAN)

HUMAN rights activist and lawyer, Mr. Festus Keyamo, Monday, unveiled his interest to contest the 2015 governorship elections in Delta State, saying it was time to unshackle the state from the dynasty of thieves.

He spoke in Effurun at the maiden meeting of the Delta Forces United, a political platform, which he is using to mobilize Deltans for his ambition.

Contacted, Wednesday, Mr. Keyamo said, "My mission is to take Deltans out of the present state of underdevelopment."

A political activist, Monday Akpokene, who attended the meeting told Vanguard, "Keyamo did not mince words in condemning what he regarded as politics of cronyism, ethnicity and underdevelopment in the state and declared that time has come for the citizens to be liberated from the dynasty of thieves that has been created over the years in Delta State.".

"He pointed out that there has not been much to show for the 14 years of the People Democratic Party, PDP, governance in the state other than a legacy of primitive accumulation and godfatherism, while the masses continue to live in abject poverty with little infrastructural development of the state," my source said.

He said the activist vowed at the meeting to live the rest of his life for the betterment of Delta state, as Deltans, had been held hostage, over time, by members of a cabal, which does not see any other candidate as having the right qualities to govern. -Vanguard
