The death of Sylvester Oromoni has brought up several what if's and mybe's. I for one have thought about the whole thing since it got online. Journalist, reporters, bloggers and social media influencers have said their views on the ordeal. True, we weren't present at the scene and its hard to tell what actuall took place. But no matter how we view it, it doesn't change the fact that someone died.

Some say he agreed to joining a cult. Whether it was willing or not isn't the issue here. That young boy was killed and all that we should be concerned about is gettimg the perpetrators of the crime. All other facts or evidence proving his willingness to be a member of the cult doesn't count.

Also, if it's true that they did beat him up, gave him engine oil to drink which eventually killed him, all so he could be one of them. The more reason why they should be punished. cultism is a crime on its own.

To anyone who night need this, somdtimes life can be really unfair. Disappointment and setbacks here and there, unfullfiled promises and broken trust. You put your heart into what your do and get nothing in return. Not even a simple thank you. You try to impress others, struggle to get in the good books of those you care about, yet they end up taking undue advantage of your meek heart.

They look down on you, make you feel less desirable, inferior. They deprive you of what's due you. They silence you, reduce you to nothing. They feed on your weakness,subjecting you to depression and frustration.

The truth is they only do those things because they have nothing. They're empty vessels, they lack everything and they hide it I by bringing you down. They pry on those who have abilities, making them feel useless and worthless. They feed off you like pest, just so they can appear better than you.

So what does one do when you come across such individuals?

We simply ignore them. You have a goal, let it be your focus. You might find millions of them as you journey in life. They might be families, friends, co-workers, business partners, neighbours, employers, pastors, it doesn't matter who they are. Once you notice they're keen on dragging you down, simply ignore them.

They might have succeeded at one point, they might have deprived you of 'everything', reduced you to 'nothing'. But here's a secret they are not God.

Mankind may deprive you, but they can't limit you.

No matter how far down the ladder you've fallen, no matter the setbacks, every disappointment is a blessing. So instead of wallowing in self pity, climb up back. Don't give them that satisfaction. Never accept defeat.

Let them try as much as they want to. Always remember they can never limit you.

President Muhammadu Buhari addressed Nigerians on Saturday June 12, to mark the 2021 Democracy Day celebration.

The speech reads in full, "I join you all today to commemorate and celebrate our Democracy Day. It is a celebration of freedom and a victory for one people, one country and one Nigeria.

"As with all democracies we will always be going through improvement processes in our desire to reach the goal of a mature democracy, a strong, evolved and integrated nation state to be reckoned with globally.

"In the last two years we have witnessed and overcome a good number of testy challenges that would have destroyed other nations especially relating to our collective security.

"The indefatigable CAN DO Spirit of the Nigerian has sustained us and would keep pushing us to put these challenges behind us.

"Unfortunately some of these challenges came in the shape of violent outrages leading to the loss of lives of many of our dear compatriots and the destruction of some of our infrastructure, including those devoted to improving our democratic processes.

"Once again, I want to render my sincere and heart-felt condolences to the families and friends of our gallant service men and women who lost their lives in the line of duty and as a sacrifice to keep Nigeria safe.

"I extend the same condolence to the families and friends of our country men, women and children who were unfortunate victims of such senseless arsons, kidnappings and murders.

"I also share the pains of families and direct victims of ransom-seeking, kidnaped victims who went through unimaginable trauma in the course of their forced imprisonment.

"Let me assure my fellow citizens that every incident, however minor gives me great worry and concern and I immediately order security agencies to swiftly but safely rescue victims and bring perpetrators to justice.

Fellow Nigerians,

"When you elected me as your President in 2015, you did so knowing that I will put an end to the growing insecurity, especially the insurgency in the North East, but the unintended consequences of our scattering them in the North East pushed them further in-country which is what we are now facing and dealing with.

"We will, by the Grace of God put an end to these challenges too.

"Unfortunately, like in most conflict situations, some Nigerian criminals are taking undue advantage of a difficult situation and profiteering therefrom with the misguided belief that adherence to the democratic norms handicaps this Administration from frontally and decisively tackling them.

"We are already addressing these obstacles and we will soon bring some of these culprits to justice.

"We are, at the same time addressing the twin underlying drivers of insecurity namely poverty and youth unemployment.

"Interventions led by Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria driving economic growth over the past 6 years are targeted mostly to the agricultural, services, infrastructure, power and health care sectors of the economy.

"In the Agricultural sector, for instance, the Anchor Borrowers Programme resulted in sharp decline in the nation's major food import bill from $2.23billion in 2014 to US$0.59billion by the end of 2018.

"Rice import bill alone dropped from $1 billion to $18.5 million annually.

"This initiative supported local production of rice, maize, cotton and cassava. Government financed 2.5 million small-holder farmers cultivating about 3.2 million hectares of farmland all over the country and created 10 million direct and indirect jobs.

"Several other initiatives, namely AgriBusiness/Small and Medium Enterprise Investment Scheme, the Non-oil Export stimulation Facility, the Targeted Credit Facilities operated across the 774 Local Governments.

"In the manufacturing sector the CBN - BOI N200 billion facility financed the establishment and operations of 60 new industrial hubs across the country, creating an estimated 890,000 direct and indirect jobs.

"The CBN's N50 billion Textile Sector intervention Facility increased capacity utilization of ginneries from 30% to nearly 90%.

"The Economic Sustainability Plan - our rebound plan for the COVID-19 pandemic developed in 2020 is currently being executed. The plan is primarily focused on the non-oil sector, which has recorded phenomenal growth contributing over 90% to the GDP growth in Q1 2021.

"Though marginal we have recorded GDP growth over two quarters; Q2 2020 and Q1 2021. This is evidence of a successful execution of the ESP by the Federal Government.

"My vision of pulling 100 million poor Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years has been put into action and can be seen in the National Social Investment Programme, a first in Africa and one of the largest in the world where over 32.6m beneficiaries are taking part. We now have a National Social register of poor and vulnerable households, identified across 708 local government areas, 8,723 wards and 86,610 communities in the 36 States and the FCT.

"Our conditional cash transfer program has benefited over 1.6 million poor and vulnerable households comprising more than 8 million individuals. This provides a monthly stipend of N10,000 per household.

"I have also recently approved the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy Plan that augments existing plans to further reduce poverty in Nigeria.

"As at the end of 2020, the Development Bank of Nigeria had disbursed 324 billion Naira in loans to more than 136,000 MSMEs, through 40 participating Financial Institutions. I am to note that 57% of these beneficiaries are women while 27% are the youth.

"We are able to do all these and still accelerate our infrastructure development through sensible and transparent borrowing, improved capital inflow, improving and increasing revenue through capturing more tax bases and prudent management of investment proceeds in the Sovereign Wealth Fund.

Fellow Nigerians,

"Our infrastructure revolution continues with key projects attaining critical milestones under the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund; The Second Niger Bridge, The Lagos- Ibadan Expressway and the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Expressway.

"I have also approved the establishment of Infraco Plc, a world-class infrastructure development vehicle wholly focused on Nigeria with a capital structure of N15 trillion.

"The rail system is not left out as the Itakpe-Warri standard gauge rail was completed and commissioned 33 years after construction began. The Lagos-Ibadan double track railway line which I have just commissioned has commenced operations.

"We are focused on ensuring that our infrastructure drive is key to economic growth and one that can be felt by every Nigerian. Building critical infrastructure in our ports is also opening up opportunities for the Nigerian economy.

"My approval for 4 new seaports using a Public-Private-Partnership approach is hinged on growing the Nigerian economy. These four sea ports; Lekki Deep Sea Port, Bonny Deep Sea Port, Ibom Deep Sea Port and Warri Deep Sea port will create massive job opportunities and foreign investment inflows.

"We have worked at deepening our Eastern ports leading to success like having three container ships berth at Calabar port, a first in 11 years. Similarly, on October 30 2019, an LPG tanker operated by NLNG berthed in Port Harcourt, the first time an LPG ship is berthing at any of the Eastern Ports.

"As we invest in these new assets, we have also made strides in ensuring that they are secured and protected. In this regard I am also pleased to note the launch of the NIMASA Deep Blue project - which is an Integrated National Security and Waterways Protection Infrastructure that I recently commissioned. This initiative is designed to add to the layer of security we have to safeguard our maritime sector.

Dear Nigerians,

" I will be the first to admit that in spite of our efforts and achievements which are there for all to see, there is still much more to be done and we are doing our best in the face of scarce resources and galloping population growth rate that consistently outstrips our capacity to provide jobs for our populace. Our over-all economic target of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years is our goal notwithstanding COVID-19.

"In the last two years we lifted 10.5 million people out of poverty - farmers, small-scale traders, artisans, market women and the like.

"I am very convinced that this 100 million target can be met and this informed the development of a National poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy. The specific details of this accelerated strategy will be unveiled shortly.

"In the last one year, Nigeria and the whole world faced COVID-19 for which no one was fully prepared.

"Our response to the pandemic involved making hard choices in balancing livelihoods and public health concerns. You are all living witnesses to how successful this has been due to a number of pro-active measures put in place. Our response to COVID-19 is globally acclaimed.

"We were able to ensure that the various lockdown measures did not impact too negatively on the ability of ordinary Nigerians to continue sustaining their livelihoods.

"During the pandemic, we disbursed N5,000 to 1 million Nigerians using a Rapid Response Register and advanced N20,000 to 750,000 beneficiaries of the Conditional Cash Transfer Progamme and provided 1.37 million Nigerians with palliatives from CACOVID.

"At the same time the Federal Government released 109,000 metric tonnes of food reserve stocks and 70,000 metric tonnes of grains to the poor and vulnerable in all 36 states of the federation.

"In addition, Government reduced interest rates from 9% to 5% for struggling businesses and extended credit facilities to 548,345 beneficiaries.

Fellow Nigerians,

"When this administration decided to change our Democracy Day from 29th May to June 12th in my first tenure, it was not only to honour the sacrifices of the men and women of our country who fought for the return to democracy but also to demonstrate our commitment to satisfy the aspirations of the people and creating an environment for democracy to be an accepted way of life.

"As your President, I remain committed to providing an enabling environment for a free, fair and credible electoral system under my tenure.

"However, you need to play your part by getting involved at any level you can supporting a democratic system that works for all and not for a section or a select few and demand accountability from your elected leaders.

"My commitment to bequeathing a sustainable democratic culture remains resolute, my pursuit of a fair society remains unshaken and my desire to see that Nigeria remains a country for each and every one of us has never been stronger.

"In responding to the challenges that this period imposes on us, Government also recognises the need to acknowledge notions of marginalisation and agitations for constitutional amendments among various segments of our population.

"While this government is not averse to constitutional reform as part of our nation building process, everyone must understand that the primary responsibility for constitutional amendments lies with the National Assembly.

"This body which, as I said, is the arm of government responsible for constitutional changes has concluded the preliminary stages of amending and improving our constitution in a way that the majority of Nigerians will be happy with.

"Government is, however, willing to play a critical role in the constitutional amendment process without usurping the powers of the National Assembly in this regard.

"As a nation we have come very far from where we started and we are getting incrementally closer to where we ought to be.

"Overcoming the present challenges is but one of a necessary process that we have to undergo as a nation so that we can come out stronger. The day I joined the Nigerian Army I was prepared to lay down my life for Nigeria.

"As your President I remain ever committed to upholding and defending Nigeria's Corporate existence.

"In adhering to the Fundamental Objectives and Directive Principles of State Policy notably section 14(2)(b) I shall do all within my power to ensure that the Security and welfare of the people remain the primary purpose of government.

Roma manager, Jose Mourinho, has joked that he wants Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Italy, so he can have peace.

Mourinho will be coaching in Serie A next season, following his sack at Tottenham Hotspur in April.

He will replace Paulo Fonseca at Roma and is likely to come up against his compatriot Ronaldo in Serie A.

Both men have worked together at Real Madrid and Mourinho is very aware of the threat Ronaldo carries.

The police in Abuja this morning allegedly fired teargas canisters to disperse June 12 protesters in the Gudu area of the Federal Capital Territory.

The protesters had gathered at the area at about 8.30am this morning to protest against bad government in the country.

It was reported on Punch that the protesters, who chanted “Buhari must go”, “Say no to injustice”, amongst other solidarity phrases, took to their heels and scampered for safety when the security operatives stormed the area and fired the teargas canisters.

Radio Presenter, Sandra Ezekwesili has alleged that the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, Prophet TB Joshua did a lot of harm than good, irrespective of all the good eulogies being credited to him by people.

Recall that the Prophet passed away in Lagos, Saturday evening, after a programme at his church.

In his last words to Christians, Prophet TB Joshua urged them to watch and pray.

Following his sudden death, the deceased man of God has continued to receive accolades for his reported good deeds from members of his congregation.

However, the Lagos based Radio girl, Sandra, in a post via her Twitter account said the prophet who would usually sell anointing oil and advise his church members against visiting a hospital when they were sick failed to practice what he preached as he reportedly visited the hospital before he died.

She claimed the late Prophet caused a lot of damage and anyone saying anything contrary to that is dishonest.

"TB Joshua was reportedly ill and went to the hospital.

"Did he not teach his numerous followers not to try hospitals and abandon their medication for his holy water and anointing oil?

"His ministry did a lot of damage. Any conversation that doesn't include that, is dishonest.

"I said what I said. The man was irresponsible as a leader, did not walk in the footsteps of Christ and his ministry was toxic and exploitative.

Pastor T.B. Joshua in his final broadcast to the world some days before his death affirms that he would not celebrate his birthday this year.

The man of God who died on Saturday night had reacted to the ongoing crisis in the country as he turned down any form of celebration for his coming 58th birthday supposed to be on June 12.

The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has claimed their late founder, Prophet Temitope Balogun, prophesied his own death

Following the shocking death of the 57-year-old six days to his birthday, SCOAN released a statement via their Facebook page.

Joshua had earlier in the day participated in a church programme before his shocking death.

The cause of his death is not yet official, but his remains have been deposited in the morgue.

The statement released by SCOAN began with a citation from Amos 3:7, which reads: "Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets".

It then added that: "On Saturday 5th June 2021, Prophet TB Joshua spoke during the Emmanuel TV Partners Meeting: "Time for everything - time to come here for prayer and time to return home after the service."

During his lifetime, Joshua earned a reputation for always predicting events in Nigeria and abroad.

Earlier this week, the cleric had even called for Nigerians to fast and pray on June 12, his birthday.

According to a report gathered by Peoples Gazette through a family member at the request of anonymity, the man of God, Pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua died shortly after concluding a church program in Lagos.

Pending an official statement from the family and the church of the deceased, the cause of death of the respectable man of God remains undisclosed.

Thomas Tuchel signs Chelsea contract extension as Blues tie manager down until 2024 after Champions League glory

Thomas Tuchel has signed a contract extension with Chelsea to keep him at the club until 2024.

The Blues have rewarded their head coach by adding a further two years to his deal in the wake of their Champions League triumph and top-four finish in the Premier League.

Tuchel exceeded all expectations in fives months at Chelsea.

On the extension of his contract, originally due to expire in 2022, Tuchel said: "I cannot imagine a better occasion for a contract renewal. I am grateful for the experience and very happy to stay part of the Chelsea family.

"There is far more to come and we are looking forward to our next steps with ambition and much anticipation."

A 300 Level student of the University of Ilorin, Olajide Omowumi Blessing, was brutally raped and murdered by unknown persons at her sister's residence in Tanke area of the Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

The deceased was a student of the Agricultural Science Department from Oke-Opin community in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Okasanmi Ajayi, who confirmed the incident on Thursday, said Omowumi was found naked with her two hands tied to the back and mouth gagged on Tuesday, June 1.

"The deceased stayed with her elder sister. The elder sister came back from work at about 6:00 pm on Tuesday June 1, saying that she had tried severally to reach her on phone but couldn't as the phone kept ringing. She came back from work to meet the door of her apartment locked and couldn't gain entry despite repeated knocks on the door. She then called some neighbours who helped to break open the door," he stated.

"They all met the deceased lying dead on the floor when they entered with her two hands tied to the back, and her mouth gagged. She was met naked, bruises were noticed on her private part, her mouth was covered among others

"Also, a note said to have been written on a piece of paper was placed on her chest containing a message, "Unilorin doesn't forgive." The people later informed the police at F' Division Police Station, who discovered the dead body, snapped the picture, and took the corpse to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) for autopsy." he added.

The PPRO said that the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Bagega, has directed immediate investigation and arrest of the attackers.

Reacting to the incident, Hon Ganiyu Abolarin, representing Ekiti State constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, demanded an immediate investigation, apprehension and prosecution of the culprits.

"I am deeply concerned about increasing cases of rape and brutality against the girl child in Nigeria. I strongly condemn the gruesome killing of Olajide Omowumi Blessing, a 300 level student of Agriculture Science at the University of Ilorin, who hailed from Oke-Opin in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State," he said.

"This gruesome murder of Olajide Blessing, who was allegedly raped to death in her home at Tanke, Ilorin, is one death too many. The action of the culprits horrific, condemnable and should not be condoned by any society. I, therefore, urged security agencies to speedily investigate, arrest and prosecute the culprits. The perpetrator(s) of this dastardly and barbaric act must be brought to justice, we must all seek justice for late Olajide Blessing.

"We must ensure that all the culprits responsible for this barbaric act are swiftly brought to justice. This nonsensical act of raping must stop in Nigeria. I want to extend my condolences to the family and friends of the victim.While I commiserate with the bereaved family on the loss of their daughter, I prayed God to grant Blessing's soul peaceful rest. I also want to urge all our young people to be wary of the company they keep and the places they visited." he added.

It's no surprise thst women are celebrated internationally today. Time has shown that women play a vital role in societal development. Women have been known to play a significant role in history. Every critical and complex situations have been handled by very talented and goal driven women. Women whose voice have brought about change. Women who have fought to make the world a better place.Women who amidst men single handedly took the bull by the horns and enacted the change. In history classes, there is no history without Mary Slessor who sucessfuly stopped the killing of twins. Flora Shaw, Lady Lugard. Who intellectually coined the name Nigeria. Moremi of Ife who risked her life, married the enemy in order to save her people. Mother Teresa, who was known for her kind heart and good deeds.

There are lots of women who have writen history with their own hands and many who are yet to write. In our present day, we speak of Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. A woman who despite all odds, stood out to be the best. There are many women of great value who have done what men failed to do in this present age.

Being a woman isn't a limitation or a set back. It is an opportunity. An opportunity to prove yourself, to show the world what you have to offer. To be the best and never give up. To weather the storm, climb the highest mountains and soar high. It's in this light, Michelle Obama says "There is no limit to what women can accomplish".

If you are a woman, stand tall, sit upright, raise your head high and do what women do best.

Good evening guys and happy New year. This is my first time writing on my blog this year, and I really don't know what to write so I'm going to bore you guys with my very irelevent write up😀.

I remember starting this blog March last year. I was super excited when I dropped my first write up, feeling like Linda Ikeji😂😂. I really don't know why I started this blog. Still trying to figure out if it was due to the COVID19 lock down or just for attention. Anyways whatever the reason is, I'm grateful to those of you who still visit my web page despite my lack of dedication.

Year 2020 was one he'll of a roller coaster. Call it a terrible year, disappointing year, a year with so many unfulfilled goals. All these terms are very true about 2020. For me, it was a really challenging year and my cope mechanism was writing. But the truth is every year has always had its own challenge. I learnt a very important lesson last year, one that I'd like to share. Life will always bring what the wind blows. As individuals, we have a long list of goals, aims, ambitions, do's and dont's. But life has a mind of its own. One thst could alter your entire dream.

Since its established that life's a 'bitch'. The next line of action is to 'go with the flow'. What I mean is do not sit back and nag over those failed dreams. Instead, sit up and think. Life is critical, hence it requires critical thinkers. The only way to beat life is by playing its game. Take charge of your current situation be it bad or good.

One trick in life is nothing lasts forever. One can be rich today and suddenly poor tomorrow, famous today and suddenly nothing tomorrow, and vice versa. The only way to make sure you rise and not fall in life is to pick up the broken pieces of life and make them whole. It might takes years, months, weeks, days, but at the end its worth it. So I may not be as famous as Linda Ikeji today,😀 I may never even be famous but that doesn't mean I shouldn't try.

Life is a struggle. As long as there's life, there's hope.
