Technology is advancing incredibly fast and there are constantly new devices hitting the market claiming to revolutionise the smart phone as we know it. The speed at which the mobile market has grown is largely due to new technology, and devices become outdated exceptionally fast.

The mobile trends forecast for 2013 far surpassed any other years so far and these are the trends that are at the forefront for changing and improving communication and multimedia devices.

Cloud storage

Cloud storage is fast becoming a big enterprise and a definite trend to watch in 2013. For both business and personal use, cloud looks set to become the centre of digital, app and content preferences. The guarantee of safe and secure data storage combined with unlimited space means that cloud computing has changed the way we think about email and file saving.

HTML 5

HTML became a big talking point when it was revealed that Apple devices were not compatible with Flash based games. Specific iPhone games had to be developed in order to be compatible with the brands devices. For example, iPhone casino games were affected by the FLASH issue and compatible games were quickly developed to fill the gap in the market.

It looks like there will be a shift in 2013 to HTML 5 as it becomes more capable and JavaScript’s performance will be the driving force behind this move.

Machine-to-machine communication

As common standards develop and there is a standardisation across the primary OS’s we will see more consumer-facing applications of machine to machine communication. This can benefit almost every sector from health care to urban planning as information will be shared across devices as needed. Integration with government systems is also a trend and in many countries mobile devices are replacing computers.

Financial transactions

Banking apps are a major trend in 2013 and mobile devices have the potential to revolutionise the way we pay for good or services. Mobile money is becoming a reality and it allows a broadened access to financial services and facilities. Touch to pay with mobile devices may eventually replace credit or bank cards and the integration with major financial institutions focuses on enhanced security and increased usage.

Fast moving technology has created some interesting trends for 2013 and the rest of the year is certain to be an exciting one on the tech front.

Infographics are awesome. The sad thing about them is the fact that they have become „too mainstream”. There are so many of them posted day in and day out, that those that are actually worth something, are not given the attention they deserve.

This can become a real problem, because certain people invest time and money in their infographics, but fail to promote them. Here are a few ways to better promote your very own infographic:

Good content usually has a killer title. The same goes for infographics. It may sound cliche, but the headline can make a great difference. When it comes to this type o visual information, you should try to engage the public and generate reactions. The whole point of an infographic is to incite and provoke laughter or confusion.

According to a renowned infographic design artist, Mondays are the best days to promote your infographics. This is because during the beginning of a week bloggers are usually researching for their sites, so they are more likely to stumble over your pitch.

Spamming never helped anyone, and it will certainly not help you. A lot of people don’t even take the time to explain or talk to the audience. Some don’t even bother to sign themselves, they just slap a infographic URL and leave it at that. We can assure you that without a little personal involvement, your pitch won’t make it very far.

Design makes a huge difference! People are always attracted to nice, shinny, colorful things. Things that make them wonder, things that make them excited. The definition of an infographic is something which tells a story visually, so you should think of creating irresistible eye candy. Moreover, you should really take the time to create it. Things that are plastered from bits and pieces that you’ve recovered from the internet, are probably not going to be successful. Ask a SEO agency for help if you are stuck at the pitching part.

Once you’ve created your awesome infographic, think of a target audience that you think would like it. After you’ve decided, look for blogs and sites that will accept it. Focus on blogs that have posted infographics in the past, and make sure that your creation identifies with the style of the site.

If you constantly create infographics make sure that you don’t receive the same backlinks from the same blogs over and over again because this can lead to the de-evaluation of your website.

All in all, running an infographic promotion isn’t a lot different from guest-posting. There are indeed a few unique things that should be taken care of, but the mechanisms are the same.

Tank cartomizers are used by vapers (i.e., electronic cigarette users) who like to mod their devices, in order to get stronger draws, more flavor, and more nicotine from their vaping experience. They work according to the simple experience of wicking – in order to wick a tank cartomizer, it comes with a piece of material inside, which needs to be moistened with e cig liquid, until it starts looking soggy.

E cigs didn’t come with tank cartomizers from the get-go: these components only started to become popular about two years ago. That’s why we’re bringing you a quick guide on everything you need to know about them.

Make sure the tank cartomizer is in good working order

Immediately after purchase and before you attach your tank cartomizer to the e cig, you need to make absolutely sure that the O-shaped rings inside are not in any way deformed or misaligned. Deformation or misplacement of the O rings will only result in leaks of e-fluid, which, of course, would detract from your vaping experience.

How to fill a tank cartomizer

First, you need to push the cartomizer inside, with the opened end up. Only push the tank cartomizer halfway in, then attach it to the flange. You don’t need to apply too much pressure to the tank, as it will glide in lightly and without too much difficulty. On most models, this is usually achieved by pushing the drip tip inside – at some point, the flange will come out at the other end.

Filling the tank per se is the one part of the process that most new users experience difficulties with at first. In order to avoid leaks, or having e-liquid get inside the cartomizer, tip the tank lightly to one side and let the e-liquid drip down the walls of the tube. Cover the internal cartomizer in about one eighth of an inch; in order to make this easier, you can either use a drip, a syringe, or a commercially purchased needle bottle.

Some tank cartomizer producers make them and they come in just the right size to ensure proper filling of the device. Then hold the tank cartomizer straight up and fill it right to the top of the internal cartomizer. Just like before, make sure you’re not pouring any e-liquid inside the cartomizer itself. Attach the drip tip back to the cartomizer and you’re almost ready to start using your new device.

Make sure your tank cartomizer is ready for use

This step is very important and skipping it will only lower your odds at a good first experience with vaping like this. Suck out of the drip tip forcefully, a few seconds at the time. If your draws seem too light, check to see for air escaping out through the bottom of the tank.

If all has been properly prepared, however, you should start seeing bubbles forming inside the tank, in the e-liquid, and you should also note the level of liquid decreasing. In this case, attach the cartomizer to the e-cig and start vaping.

Technology is advancing by leaps and bounds and this can most vividly be felt in the mobile phone market. Every few months, a company launches a phone claiming to revolutionize the mobile phone as we know it.

Every time this happens, another company produces a phone which is supposedly better than the previous one. This leads to a so-called war between the phones as each company tries to outperform the other one.

The latest war is currently taking place between the smartphones, namely Samsung’s Galaxy S4 and Apple’s iPhone 5. It can be tough to select one of these phones without knowing something about them first.

The Screen

The first thing anyone notices about any phone is the screen. In this era of touchscreen phones, the screen plays a far more important factor for the customer’s decision than ever and both of these models happen to be touchscreen.

While the iPhone 5 features the excellent LED-backlit IPS LCD, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has the better Super AMOLED screen and both of them have a capacitive touchscreen. Samsung Galaxy S4 has a screen of 1080×1920 (~ 441 ppi pixel density) resolutions and the size is 5 inches.

iPhone loses out on the screen department having only 640×1136 (~326 ppi pixel density) in its resolution and its screen size being only 4 inches. Otherwise both screens support multi-touch and are secured by Corning Gorilla Glass.

Additional Features

Both phones come with GPRS, GPS, Wi-Fi and USB support. Samsung wins in the hardware department with its Quad-core 1.6 GHz processor and a replaceable Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery which gives a better stand-by time. iPhone has only a Dual-core 1.2 GHZ processor with a non-removable battery.

The iPhone happens to be lighter than its rival and supports the 4G network. It is available in variants of 16/32/64 GB internal storage capacities with a RAM of 1 GB on all variants but has no external card slot. The Galaxy S4 S4 has all the above variants as well but has a RAM of 2GB and supports SD cards up to 64 GB. The S4 runs on the latest Android OS, v4.2.2, while the iPhone 5 has iOS 6 and is upgradeable to iOS 6.1.3.

Camera

The camera feature started out as a gimmick of mobiles has turned out to a major factor in the selling points of mobiles.

The Galaxy S4 wins out in this department as well with its 13 MP camera which is able to shoot images at a resolution of 4128×3096 pixels unlike the iPhone with its 8 MP primary camera whose image resolution happens to be 3264×2448 but both of them come with an autofocus facility and a LED flash and both are able to shoot HD videos at 1080p. The secondary camera of S4 is of 2 MP thereby beating the iPhone 5 with its 1.2 MP camera.

Price

The price of the iPhone 5 in India is Rs.40000 approximately. The price of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the Rs. 41,500 only. The price of android mobiles in India has been generally on the lower side, yet Samsung has changed that trend with the release of the S4.

An Overview

It is obvious that Samsung wanted to give stiff competition to the iPhone when it decided to create the S4 and the specifications of the Galaxy S4 are top class as it beats the iPhone 5 in nearly all the departments necessary. Although a little costlier than the iPhone 5, the S4 can be said to be a better buy than its rival any given day. It is probably going to take its place as the best smartphone in the market, depending on consumer reviews.

While the broad scope of Internet trends may seem to be similar from one year to another, the fact of the matter is that new tools for web designers are popping up every year.

With these new tools comes a plethora of new trends for every web designer to learn, understand, and ultimately master if they have any hope in their site seeing next year. The year 2013 will not be exempt from these trends in the months to come.

The Fixed Header Bar

Seen in popular websites like Kotaku, this trend has been around for a while, but it’s ease of use and user-friendly design is finally starting to catch fire around sites with the most passionate of users. What will change in 2013 is the functionality of this trend.

Kotaku’s Bar, for example, allows the reader a limited number of actions: Recommended articles and latest posts mostly (not to mention a search bar and all the usual login requirements for these sites). By the end of this year every major web designer will have this tool mastered. These popular tools will be expanded upon and fleshed out, allowed access to specific parts of the site without the need to scroll up and down a lengthy article.

This is already happening, of course, over at one of the most well-respected video game news sites, IGN. Their website design company designed the fixed header bar over there to be a plain black swatch. It appears to be a simple search box until you hover over it with your cursor and links to every corner of the website jump down.

This is the most clever solution to the problem, adding quick access to wherever your reader could possibly want to go without jumbling up the Bar with all the jargon required to duly kit out a fully realized Fixed Header Bar.

The QR Code Isn’t Going Anywhere

One of the smartest and quickest ways you can allow for consumers to get information on whatever they’re selling them are these Quick Response Codes. It may seem illogical or ugly to slap a QR code onto your website, but consider the positives.

On a contact page, if the reader snaps a picture of the QR code with their mobile device, the phone could read them back all the info they need to get in touch with your company without even having to dial a phone number. Web Design is all about making it take as little steps as possible for the reader to get to what they want, and these little codes will do just that.

Social Media Badges – Obvious But Effective

Social Media isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and 2013 will be another year of viral marketing campaigns and thousands of little Twitter and Facebook icons exploding on websites. It’s the most obvious trend of the moment, but your job is to find new and unique ways to utilize the buttons.

IGN, for example, places a retweet button at the summary of every television, game, and movie review they post. These summaries are short microcosms of the entire review that lies above it. Allowing the reader to easily retweet this short bite of info to their page is a different way to get more readers onto your site.

They of course have the normal twitter and Facebook badges in more obvious places, but placing these options in more unexpected ways and allowing users to discover them for themselves acts as a sort of viral campaign for your own site, and ends with more traffic to it. The fact is that these social sites are the reason for most website hits, and this trend won’t end in 2013.

Throughout the course of any given year, mobile aficionados are waiting with baited breath to see what Apple is going to come up with next. But to concentrate solely on the iPhone would be to ignore other advances on the smartphone landscape.

Yes, Apple is still the top dog, but other mobile developers, such as Samsung, are poised to give the Cupertino giant a major run for its money – maybe even knock it off its perch completely. Not only that, but Huawei and Sony are on the cutting edge of smartphone technology as well.

All of this was evident to those who attended the 2013 CES convention in Las Vegas. Those in attendance saw a mobile landscape rife with rigid notions of exactly which features must be included in a modern smartphone in order for it to survive in the marketplace.

That said, the creativity came from seeing just how different developers planned to differentiate their product from the competition. Some developers, like Huawei, are focusing on optimum battery life while others, like Sony, are pushing video and camera capabilities to the limit.

Here are some other features smartphone users can expect to see in the coming months.

Full-HD 5-Inch screens

At this point, this is standard. No smartphone is expected to survive without a large display and high pixel density. In order to beat Apple’s iPhone, many developers have looked to HTC for screen ideas. Huawei is releasing the Ascend D2, which boasts a “super retina” 5-inch panel with 1920 x 1080p resolution. Not to be outdone, Sony is releasing the Xperia Z with a 5-inch display, as is XTE with their Grand S.

Quad-core processors

This year, it seems that most developers are pushing the notion that a smartphone is only as good as what’s under the hood. And with certain processors, such as the Snapdragon S4 Pro, boasting increased performance up to 75%, this notion is fairly spot on.

The Nexus 10 tablet is already leading the charge with their stock Cortex A-15 processor and some developers, like Huawei, are producing quad-cores in house. The general consensus is that these high-performance processors will be shipped in most smartphones by the end of the year.

Increased battery life

With better performance and new features comes the need for more juice. But developers like Huawei and Sony have already considered this and have taken steps to ensure smartphone users can get the most from their batteries.

Sony is implementing what they call Battery Stamina mode in their new line of mobiles that automatically kills non-essential apps whenever the screen shuts off. Huawei, on the other hand, has a new feature that toggles off the Wi-Fi transmitter whenever data services are not being used.

Added protection

Water damage is still a major smartphone killer, but luckily technology has caught up to the point it can combat the problem. Huawei and Sony have developed new smartphones that are water resistant up to half an hour in one meter of non-salt water.

High-resolution cameras

As a brand, Sony is defined by its picture quality, so it is no surprise they are focusing on full HDR and double-digit megapixel resolution on their smartphone cameras. On top of this, the Grand S and Xperia Z each have additional cameras on the front of the device that shoots 1080p video. But Sony isn’t the only one; other developers are pushing for crisper video resolution and front-and-back smartphone cameras as well.

These are just some of the smartphone features projected to be firmly in place by the end of the year. Consumers can also expect developers to build upon these features in the coming year in order to provide even better image quality and increased performance.

Nikon has done it again with its rendition of perfection – The Nikon D5200. It has managed to create a masterpiece, combining the best features of its earlier DSLR versions – the D7000 and the D3200.

This single lens reflex digital camera is an example of modern sophistication and conventional efficiency. It has both the D7000’s remarkable AF system, and the D3200’s image sensor marvel.

Following the Nikon’s 2009 DSLR version – the D5000, and the subsequent 2011 update – the D5100, this new launch confirms the company’s hold on the market as a leader in the innovation of low-range high performance DSLR cameras with LCD screen pivots and Live View technology.

Let’s have a look at some of its dynamic features:-

Dimensions

Measuring 5.1 x 3.9 x 3.1”, this DSLR even comes in brown and red metallic colors.

Image Capture Features

It houses a 24.1 megapixel DX-format sensor promising high image definition.

The camera’s 39-point Autofocus tracking and face detection features make shooting portraits, background blurs, and moving action shots a breeze.

Its ISO 100 to ISO 6400 sensitivity range offers amazing lighting adjustment.

The camera’s Scene Recognition System features a 2016-pixel RGB sensor for screen color and brightness accuracy.

Its vari-angle monitor offers flexibility of shooting angles and image perspectives.

In keeping with the Nikon DSLR family trend, the D5200′s expansive high-resolution LCD monitor pivots to give you maximum framing space and varied shooting angles especially for those difficult over head, low angle or cramped space shots.

Its Live View mode guarantees precise framing. Just clicking the Live View button enables you to see your actual shot size on the 3” screen and compose your shots before capturing them. This allows you to pay special attention to those miniscule frame details.

Power Feature

It is powered by EXPEED 3 engine processor, same as in the D4.

The camera houses a rechargeable Li-ion EN-EL14 battery.

It comes with an EH-5B AC adapter.

Video and Sound

Recording full HD videos with multiple frame rates makes video-shooting easy as you do not have to worry about keeping your moving subjects in focus at all times.

The camera has a built-in microphone that captures sound in stereo, and guarantees astounding sound quality.

Playback Features

full frame and thumbnail image playback

playback zoom

movie and photo slideshow playback

histogram display

auto image rotation

up to 36 characters of image comments

Wireless Features

You don’t need an infrared controller for this camera. With its Wireless Mobile Adapter, you can remotely control it from your AndroidTM or iOS device. This way you can put yourself in the shot as well, and tag all those priceless memories.

The camera’s Wireless Remote Controller gives you uninterrupted shutter release control from over 20 metres away.

Lens Compatibility

Much like its predecessors of the Nikon range, the D5200 is compatible with all modern AF-I and AF-S lenses.

However it cannot autofocus with screw-drive AF lenses, as it does not have an internal autofocus motor.

It is compatible with zoom, wide angle, and other lenses across the NIKKOR range, as well.

The D5200 like its Nikon D Series, cousins is put together in such a way, that shooting becomes extremely elementary even if you are a novice in handling DSLR cameras.

The camera arrived in the US in late January, this year, and has already stormed the market with its high density image sensing and efficiency driven wireless capacities.

The smartphones were then officially unveiled at the MWC and showed some notable improvements on the previous models in the Optimus series. Since 4G LTE technology is expected to become huge in 2013 the two models are designed for users who are planning to make the switch from 3G to 4G LTE.

Both the F5 and the F7 will be running the latest edition of Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Since Android allows its hardware manufacturers to greatly customize its OS many sophisticated UX features make their appearance on the two smartphones.

Optimus F5

The F5 is the smaller of the two with a screen size of 4.3 inches. It has a spectacular IPS (In Plane Switching) display with a pixel density of 256 pixels per inch (PPI). Its 126.0 x 64.5 x 9.3mm (HxWxD) body houses a 5 MP camera in the back and another one in the front of around 1.3 MP.

The Optimus F5 has a 1GB RAM and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual-Core central processing unit and a 2,150mAh battery. While the device comes with a memory capacity of 8GB its microSD expansion slot allows for additional storage capacity up till 32GB.

Optimus F7

The Optimus F7 is slated to be LG’s high end smartphone featuring a 4.7 inches screen with an enhanced True HD IPS (In Plane Switching) display for excellent and consistent viewing from different angles. Its screen has a high pixel density of 312 pixels per inch something expected of a smartphone if it hopes to compete with the iPhone and other Android phones in its category.

The device’s dimensions of 131.7 x 68.2 x 9.6mm (HxWxD) almost qualify it for the ‘phablet’ category of devices.

The F7 runs on a Dual-Core processor clocked at an incredibly fast 1.5 GHz and a long lasting battery of 2,540mAh. It has a 3 megapixel front facing camera same as Optimus F5 but an even better quality 8 megapixel rear facing camera. The Optimus F7 has a device memory of 2GB and a multimedia storage capacity of 8GB. Like the Optimus F5, there is a microSD port that can house a memory card up to 32GB.

Fresh Features

Some advanced features like Live Zooming and QSlide that until now were limited to the very finest LG devices will now be available to a wider consumer base with the Optimus F5 and F7. With QSlide users can simultaneously view two apps such as videos and browser next to each other and even customize their size while the Live Zooming feature lets users zoom in videos.

LG hasn’t yet revealed the pricing and the precise release date of the two smartphones. It has however scheduled to start offering the Optimus F5 in Europe from the second quarter of 2013 onwards. The Optimus F7 on the other hand will be available in a chosen few markets around the same time.
