Hi Bob: Thank you for the string. I will think of you and your message every time I look at it.

I just received an email and this was the final message. I wanted to share it with you.

Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and Positively. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

GJCAE / Ice Pack Program

Thanks to the generous support of many in our community, and specifically the Wake Forest Police Dept., our Christmas program will send over 650 ice packs for the soldiers to Iraq via VFW Post # 8466 here in Wake Forest.

The packs will go to Captain Sean Lynch and his command. Sean is a former VFW member who was very active here in Wake Forest and chose to go back into the military and serve in Iraq.

We're happy the packs can go to men and women we know and some are of our community.

The program also contributed $350+ to the GJCAE. Thank you community and we will post the names of all the nice folks who contributed on our web site soon.

Wake Forest Police Dept.

We call them Wake's finest and they are. Today the Police Chief, Greg Harrington, informed us of the effort by their men and women of the Wake Forest Police Dept. to raise money for the Cotton Company, GJCAE cold pack program for our U.S. troops.

As always these acts represent what we are most proud of in this community, associating with those who try to help others. What a treat to be around such fine folks.!!!

GJCAE Pedicab in Christmas Parade

The Johnson family, all but the husband who pedaled most of the way, rode in the pedicab in the wonderful downtown Wake Forest Christmas Parade this past Saturday. The husband, Bob, pedaled most of the way but the lungs and energy were gone by the time the hill creeped up on Brooks street. Wife, Liza the Jane, had to jump out and push while the two sisters, Paige and Janna cheered her on.

Wonderful event, largest Xmas parade ever for Wake Forest and nice way to see the fine folks of the community.

Pedicab was sponsored by The Cotton Company, Festival Park and HerbFest.

Our family and friends thank you for taking the time to visit with us. The support of Franlin Academy and their staff and students has been so wonderful supporting our efforts to take the tragic sucicide of our son and attempt to mold it into benefical results for our community.

We've tried to stress that "life is for the living" and not just talked the talk, but walked the walk by living by example. We all grieve but we also know our dedication is to those who walk the same paths we do each and every day. The grass will never be greener and more bountiful than it is today, under our feet. We do not wait for tomorrow as that may never come, the past is for learning and profiting from our experiences, we take the present and make it better for as many as we can.

The GJCAE is about that collective effort and spirit.

GJCAE Preview with Festival Park Battle of The Bands

The Graham Johnson Cultural Arts Endowment had a very nice start at it's new location in historic downtown Wake Forest, N.C. this past weekend at http://www.festivalpark.org/ .

The Teen Battle Of The Bands competition went off flawlessly with Jessica Ray winning the battle. There were some very good bands and some wonderfully nice and well mannered teens in attendance with their parents and friends. Just a glimpse of what to be in memory of our son.
