Vintage Postcards of the R.M.S. Corsican of the Allan Line. Built in 1907 in Glasgow by Barclay, Curle & Co. Ltd. she was 11,500 Gross Tons, Length of 500 Feet and Breadth of 61 Feet. Maiden voyage was on 31 October 1907 from Liverpool to St. John, NB. The ship was utilized by both the Allan Line and Canadian Pacific. The Corsican was a troup ship during the First World War, returning to active passenger services following the war until she was wrecked in 1923.

Stiftsgården is Scandinavia's largest wooden structure with associated garden in central Trondheim, on the corner of Monk Street and Queen Street. It was the largest of the major trepaléene town from the latter part of the 1700s and is also among the largest wooden buildings in Scandinavia.

Munkholmen is a small island of 13 acres located about 2 km outside central Trondheim Trondheim Fjord. In the summer season the island is now a popular destination, with opportunities for swimming and sunbathing. There is also a café there and a small restaurant with outdoor seating. There is a boat from Ravnkloa in Trondheim. Munkholmen has a rich history and are protected.

Elven med Søboder now referred to as Elven med Sjøboder refers to boathouses and warehouses located on the Nidelva River in Trondheim, Norway. This vintage poscard has an excellent view of the Nidelva River with shipping activity with warehouses lining the shoreline.

Nidelva (or Nidelven) is a river in the county Sør-Trøndelag, Norway. Elva or Elven is Norwegian for 'the river', so the name translates to "The River Nid".

Sjøboder literally means Boathouses and large or small warehouses by the sea. They are appropriate in connection with maritime transport and other activities at sea, such as fishing.

Nidaros Cathedral (locally referred to as Nidarosdomen or Nidaros Domkirke) is a Church of Norway cathedral located in the city of Trondheim in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. These early 20th Century postcards show both interior and exerior views of Domkirke.

Old Town Bridge (Locally referred to as Gamle Bybro or Bybroa) is located in Trondheim, Sør-Trøndelag County, Norway. This vintage postcard depects Bybroen as it existed circa 1910.

Originally Gamle Bybro was constructed of wood, but the wood was supported on three stone piers. In the middle of the bridge, an iron gate was placed. This remained a guarded city gate until 1816. At each end of the bridge there was a toll and guardhouse. The access house on the west end still stands, but that on the east side was taken down in 1824. Gamle Bybro was reconstructed in 1861 by the engineer Carl Adolf Dahl (1828-1907). Today Gamle Bybro is one of Trondheim's characteristic landmarks.

Buran is an area east of downtown Trondheim. The location is between Lademoen Møllenberg and Rosendal.

When Trondhjems Elektricitetsværk and Tramway was created in 1901 was Lademolinjen to Buran the first tram line in Trondheim. The line was single-mindedly until it in 1913 was converted to double and extended to the newly built tramshed on Violence Minde.

Bratøgaden, trondhjem now referred to as Brattørgata is located on the west side of Trondheim between Søndre gate and Krambugata and only exists for three blocks, paralleling Brattøveita to the west and Olav Tryggvasons gate to the east. Postcard dates from the early 20th Century.

With the oncoming of cold nights and foggy mornings the thoughts of very many invalids in this country are turned towards the best means of getting through the winter. To those who may contemplate a long sea voyage in a warmer climate than ours, we would commend a careful study of two eminently sensible and practical papers recently published in the Zeitschrift fur didtetische und physicalische Therapie, by Sir Hermann Weber, and in theBerliner klinische  Wochenschrift, No. 41, by Dr. Edmund Friedrich, of Dresden.

Of all the methods of treating illness by change of habits, none has received a higher approbation than a sea-voyage. Yet the physiological basis for this kind of treatment has never been quite adequately explained. It is very difficult for anyone on board-ship, without a previous or subsequent knowledge of his patients, to judge exactly what effect the sea-influences have brought about, and a ship-surgeon may not always be a most skillful observer.

This rare fourth of July Menu from the S.S. Noordland of the American Line featured Broiled Chicken. Maryland Style and Petits Fillets Mignonne's. The complete lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner were printed on the bask side of the menu.
