Corsican of the Allan Line. Built in 1907 in Glasgow by Barclay, Curle &amp; Co. Ltd. she was 11,500 Gross Tons, Length of 500 Feet and Breadth of 61 Feet. Maiden voyage was on 31 October 1907 from Liverpool to St. John, NB. The ship was utilized by both the Allan Line and Canadian Pacific. The Corsican was a troup ship during the First World War, returning to active passenger services following the war until she was wrecked in 1923.</p>

In the summer season the island is now a popular destination, with opportunities for swimming and sunbathing. There is also a café there and a small restaurant with outdoor seating. There is a boat from Ravnkloa in Trondheim. Munkholmen has a rich history and are protected.</p>

This vintage postcard depects Bybroen as it existed circa 1910.</p>
<p style="WHITE-SPACE: normal; WORD-SPACING: 0px; TEXT-TRANSFORM: none; COLOR: rgb(0,0,0); TEXT-ALIGN: left; FONT: 12px Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; WIDOWS: 1; LETTER-SPACING: normal; TEXT-INDENT: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px">Originally Gamle Bybro was constructed of wood, but the wood was supported on three stone piers. In the middle of the bridge, an iron gate was placed. This remained a guarded city gate until 1816. At each end of the bridge there was a toll and guardhouse. The access house on the west end still stands, but that on the east side was taken down in 1824. Gamle Bybro was reconstructed in 1861 by the engineer Carl Adolf Dahl (1828-1907). Today Gamle Bybro is one of Trondheim's characteristic landmarks.</p>

The location is between Lademoen Møllenberg and Rosendal.</p>
