The Best Day Ever

2010-10-28T02:16:00.000-04:00

Today was about the best day of my life! I got to meet my all time favorite rapper Christopher Bridges aka Ludacris:).I have been riding for him for 10 years strong! I believe that he doesn't get the credit that he deserve as an artist but he's one of the best in my book. I went with one of girlies for life Paris, we both are die hard fans! and have bought every album, mixtape or single that he may have featured on(yea its that serious lol). He had an bottle singing for his Cognac Conjure in Philadelphia Pa.(my hometown) and you know I just had to be there, I was nervous as hell(sweating and all!) but i held it together once i got to him, simply because I'm a FAN not a GROUPIE. I got to tell him how big of a fan I am and got an hug, a bear hug might i add lol(which made my year!). I took a few pictures and figure I would share it with you all, hope you enjoy them!

Healthy Habits!!

2010-09-13T23:39:00.001-04:00

These are just MY 10 habits that I have picked up in my daily diet, I am no way a professional nor try to be. This is just what seems to work for me and I hope that they can help you out some when it comes to being healthy, so enjoy!

#1

the number one tip for being healthy is...you guessed it WATER!

Why Drink Water?

To function properly, the body requires between one and seven liters of water per day to avoid dehydration, the precise amount depends on the level of activity. Water is also very important for removing toxins from the human body, The body has four major ways of removing toxins which are:

* Bowels
* Urination
* Perspiration
* Processing of toxins by the liver

Water is also important to fitness and fat loss for several reasons including the following:

* Water fills us up without adding any calories.

* helps burn fat: burning of fat releases waste products. You need enough water to flush these from your body.

* The liver requires water in order to process fat. If you are dehydrated you will not burn as much fat.

I try to drink a bottle or full cup of water before eating to help me not eat as much, also I grab for a bottle of water every time I crave something I know I shouldn't eat. Now I personally prefer to drink lemon water, whether it be juices from a fresh lemon or lemon juice from a bottle. This usually helps people deal because they don't like to drink water, it gives it a little taste but don't go adding sugar to it, its not lemonade! lol. Some people also like to use cucumbers or limes as well, on that note drink up:)

#2

I love tea can't get enough of it!

Tea is another way to cleanse the body from toxins, it also helps me suppress my hungry especially when it comes to those unhealthy foods. Sometimes on the late night I crave all the sweets in the world! but I make a cup of tea instead, it usually helps fill me up to not want that snack. I personally love green, lemon and peach tea yes I said peach! lol but any flavor you prefer will do.

#3

Brown Rice/stir fry

Brown rice is much better for you then white rice, honestly anything white (such as bread, pasta, etc..) is pretty bad for you because it's bleached and refined and eliminating the nutritional content of the grain and fiber. It also raises blood sugar levels and is very addictive in that you're always hungry after eating it. So it's much better to have brown rice, you can do so much with it to such as make a stir fry. I generally eat a vegetable stir fry using broccoli, carrots, corn and bell peppers. You can get as creative as you like by adding shrimp, chicken, etc...

#4

Yogurt

Now when you are craving something sweet and you just got to have it! yogurt is a good alternative. You can just eat yogurt by its self or you can get creative and make an parfait. I usually use low fat or fat free plain yogurt and add strawberries or any favorite fruit of my choice and add a crunched up granola bar (i love to use nature's valley honey and oats)

You can also just make a nice smoothie with your yogurt, once again just add your favorite fruits and blend:)

#5
oatmeal

I can tell you just an year ago I HATE! oatmeal but I found that it is good for you and it fills you up. I have it for breakfast occasionally with a grapefruit and water of course:). But oatmeal seems to hold me over until lunch without snacking in between. My favorite flavor is strawberry (i think i pretty much like strawberry anything!! lol) but i buy the instant oatmeal variety pack, that way i can take it on the go.

#6

egg whites

My favorite thing to have for breakfast (when i have time) is a egg white omelet with bell peppers, onions, and low fat cheese(for those like me that can't give up cheese!) with a side of turkey sausage. It's Delicious and filling, trust me you should try it:)

#7

Cucumbers and vinegar

As crazy as it sounds cucumbers and vinegar with a little bit of pepper is a delicious snack, my sister and I can eat this for days! its crunchy, salty and a little sweet all at once.

#8

Spinach

Spinach and other dark leafy greens are loaded with calcium, folic acid, vitamin K and iron and it has more nutrient value than lettuce. so they next time you have a salad try spinach leafs instead of lettuce with just a little dressing, over loading your salad with dressing just takes away all the nutrients. Spinach can also be cooked of course and it is just as good!

#9
Lean Cuisines

lean cuisines are a tasty easy way to eat healthy, I usually eat them for lunch (although they have product for each meal of the day) when I don't feel like cooking anything or to avoid ordering out. They come in many different kinds for all your different taste buds, a few of my favorites are shrimp Alfredo, grilled citrus chicken, cheese ravioli, honey dijon grilled chicken, and the sesame chicken.

#10

grilled instead of fried!

Now don't get me wrong i LOVE fried chicken and many other fried things but it just isn't as healthy as grilled or baked food. I stop cooking fried foods all around, I allow myself to have it when I go out from time to time but I won't cook it at home(well at least not for myself). But it is pretty simple to ask for grilled/baked as it is for fried, most restaurants will have both. So don't think you can't go out to eat and have to eat unhealthy, that same fried seafood platter that you might get at red lobster(i know i sound real greedy right now lol) have an grilled version as well, even most fast food places have grilled instead of fried...so choose wisely:)

Peace up...A town down!!

This past weekend my girls and I went to Atlanta for 4 days and 3 nights. We had tons of fun and got no sleep whatsoever lol but it was all worth it. I love Atlanta, they don't sleep I promise! clubs don't close until 4am and the after hour at 6am! but we hung in there, we even got a chance to go to Rick Ross album release party!.We ate at a few nice places such as Gladys Knight's restaurant, we had a midnight train (which is fried chicken and a waffle) and a uptown ( which is sweet tea and lemonade mixed) it's one our favorite meals and a must have every time we visit. We also went to Christopher "Ludacris" Bridges restaurant that he owns along with Chef Chris Yeo, it's a oriental restaurant and very delicious, we chose to go there because I'm a BIG fan of Ludacris:). We also ate at Diddy's restaurant called Justin's named after his first son, the food was good and the atmosphere was excellent. Atlanta is a good place to be all around, I want to eventually move there maybe in a few years, but here are some pictures...hope you enjoy them

Easter weekend

2010-04-05T19:44:00.004-04:00

I had a wonderful past weekend, the weather was beautiful everyday and I went shopping just about everyday! Friday I went to the flea market (rices) in New Hope, Pa and I got alot of goodies! lol I think I wanted one of everything there. It was a beautiful day out and all the vendors were out, including the popcorn, hot dog, preztels and lemonade stand. I went with my aunt and two Little cousins, they were so excited as well beacause they got to spend their own money lol it was too cute. here are the few things I got.....

these are my new sunglasses that I'm absolutely in love with:)

my new wallet....i needed one so bad!

I wanted a brown bret forever...I love them....especially when I'm having a bad hair day lol

the girls were enjoying the sun....with the glasses they bought:)

this was my favorite item that I got...when I saw it, I was in love and it was the last one! can you say destiny:)

On Saturday I went shopping again because I needed a dress for a upcoming wedding that I have to attend on the up and coming saturday, so I went to Macy's, Arden B, Forever 21, and finally Kohl's and that is were I finally found the prefect dress! along with another few things....I just can't help myself shopping!.....

this is the dress I'll be wearing to the wedding on Saturday...I fell in love with it when I found it in the dressing room while trying on other dresses....lucky me:)

now of course I couldn't go shopping without buying something other than what I was there for....lol these dress was too cute to me and it was on sale so I couldn't pass it up!

I picked these up from target....I'm loving these rite now....they don't irritate my skin like alot of other wipes and they clean my face so well, plus they were on sale so I got two!

cookie time

2010-03-30T15:25:00.000-04:00

This past weekend I spent the day with my little cousins (lil mamas) and we watched princess and the frog about 3 times and Cinderella about 4 lol but they enjoyed it and that is all that matters. I did gain a new favorite song from the movie princess and the frog and that is "never knew I needed" by the r&b singer Neyo. I also like to do activities with them when they come over so we made chocolate chip cookies:)......

They couldn't wait until their cookies were done! lol

ALL DONE!

dining...

2010-03-24T21:15:00.000-04:00

So today was a short day for me, I only had one class and I was so happy we got out early. So i had a chance to cook dinner tonight, while I watch America's Next Top Model (which i love love)

Baked Chicken, Mac and cheese, Collard Greens and Corn pudding♥

Also since I have been going so much cleaning lately my mani got ruin:( so i had to get them done over! I love them more than the last one:)

Because I cant control my shopping habit, I finally got my first coastal Scents Palette (yay me lol). I love it, i got the 78 eye shadow and blush set and I promise you I'll be using it everyday!

So here it is again.....I cant control my shopping habit!! lol but this is a dress that I purchase from Forever21 (even tho it wont be a dress on me) but when I saw it I thought about those beach days, when don't want to wear anything to heavy out in the sun and it was only $9.80!

here is a lipgloss that I got for FREE with my order from ELF and let me just say that I fell in love, at first I didn't think I was going to like it too much but that changed quickly once I felt how much it moisturized my lips.

this is the blush and bronzing palette from ELF that I have been using everyday since I got it (about 2weeks
ago)

Sunday delight

2010-03-22T20:31:00.001-04:00

This past Sunday was one of the most beautiful days of the weekend, couldn't help to not go out and enjoy the weather. Did do too much but i did a little shopping, grocery store, five below and the beauty supply store. Here are a few things I purchased....

I purchased these earrings from the beauty supply store for only a dollar each....if your not a fan of cheap earrings because they break you out, the trick is to put a little of clear nail polish on the back area that will go in your ear and you should be fine. I usually don't buy cheaper earring because of that reason but these were too cute but definitely not an everyday earring

I thought these little bins were too cute i had to have them. they are from 5 below and they were only a dollar each. I figured I could use them for some kind of storage...right now my makeup brushes are in them:)

These shirts were my favorite items I bought, i got them from 5 below for $5 each, went in the store to buy my little cousin a poster and ended up wanting ALL the shirts but I just got these 2 lol

Here is what I went into 5 below for, the Princess and the Frog poster. My little cousin Makaela loves this movie so I got her the poster...it was $5

Nyx GOLD.....my new love, it goes perfect over a nice nude lipstick

I thought this bow on top was the cutest!

sunny day:)

Today was so beauty in Philly and of course I would be stuck in class but at least it was not all day. I went down town after class to do a little shop and pick up just a few products that I'm loving right now.....

I'm loving these two products so much right now. my face is so refreshed and clean after each use.

after i use my face cleanser i use this moisturizer, it keeps my face moisture all day for my dry areas and it doesn't make my oily areas too oily I LOVE IT
