***************************************************

The 2013 GLAM! Pride Game Show Revue Panelists Include:

The Flirty Diana Love

This funny woman has appeared at every GLAM! since the beginning and we couldn't be happier to have her back! Her humour, personality and quick responses make her a hit on the stage....she is like the Brett Somers of our show, but with the looks of a young Betty White! Check her out all summer as she tours Ontario with the hilarous Mary Janes of Comedy Tour "Escape the City".

The Full-Frontal Vicki Lix

We aren't legally allowed to do a Pride Event with out the incomparable Vicki Lix appearing...this literal GLAMAZON has performed on our stage numerous times and each time has us laughing from the inside out. Who knows what she will be wearing, let's hope the double sided tape holds up in the summer sun! Check her out as she kicks butts and takes numbers every Sunday night at Crews & Tango's Annual DRAG RACE - Take home the crown Mama.

The Fantastic Kevin Forestell

Is there anything better than a hot guy who can sing? Probably not....No stranger to the stage, Kevin has been dominating Toronto's Theatre scene since arriving from New Brunswick. His enchanting voice and mesmerizing performances captivates any audience it's no surprise he was cast as the original Sinatra Seven in Victoria Playhouse's production of The Songs of Sinatra - Even Ol' Blue Eyes himself would have been impressed.

The Fabulous Phil Luzi

We are so excited to have Phil join the panel at GLAM! He is a power house in the Toronto comedy scene hosting and producing not one, but THREE monthly shows in and around the city: The Sale & Sandy Show, The Bong-a-Long Show, and Slides & the Family Stoned. There is nothing this man can't do! Literally, did we mention he also directed Sandra Battaglini's solo show which was also nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award....Impressive!

The Flareragous Marilla Wex

At GLAM! we consider Marilla one of the prime examples of a true GLAMAZON, her hilarous wit, charm and ability to make anyone laugh is what every comedian, performer and all together human being should strive for. When she isn't creating an international sensation of cuteness with her Yarn Stash Bears, Marilla can be heard as the commanding voice on TV's "The Panic Button." Always busy, and always creating, Marilla doesn't let a steady TV presence stop her, as she prepares to mount her new one woman show "Lost and Found" on July 27th at the Flying Beaver Pubaret!

And Don't Forget Your Host

Topher McFarlane

Creator and Producer of GLAM! and TheSketchers.com Topher returns to tease, joke and laugh with the audience as he leads the Panelists through round after round of the Classic Match Game with a GLAM! twist! A Gay Comedian from Brokeback Mountain Country, Topher is here to do one thing - to make you laugh!

So to quote Rod Roddy of Price is Right Fame "Come on Down....You're the next contestant on GLAM!"

2012-06-29T08:36:00.002-07:00

Well what a run it has been! On Wednesday we wrapped up our 2nd night of the GLAM! Pride Game Show Revue and couldn't be more happier with the contestants, panelists and fun we had! We raised some good money for SOY which will go directly to helping GLBT teens in Toronto with community development and support.

I am honoured to be a part of GLAM! and all that it has done with all of our past events - GLAM! Pride Editions, Halloween Hangover, 1st Annual & Cancer Can Sux it Edition. GLAM! is an event that showcased some of Toronto's best and focused on raising funds for amazing causes and I am so honoured to have created it 2 years ago.

Sadly, after much thought and debate I have decided at this time to retire the GLAM! Live Show for awhile. I am working on developing the same feel - a cocktail party vibe - for television and hope to have some test pilots of that in the future.

To all the GLAMAZONS - thank you! You are what inspire me to be better then I am everyday - You are talented and it amazes me daily at what skills you can bring to an event!

To all the audience members who have ever attended - continue to demonstrate Glamour, Power and Humour in Your life - because in the end that's all it takes.

And finally - to my Mom Pat McFarlane - who was the reason I did GLAM! The Reason I push myself daily - you embodied perseverance, laughter and humour - GLAM! was always and will always be a representation of you.

Thank you all! Goodnight and have a pleasant tomorrow.

-Topher

Fresh GLAMAZONS - GLAM! Cancer Can Sux it Edition!

2012-05-17T14:36:00.000-07:00

It's just over 2 weeks until our next live GLAM! on June 5th 2012 and we couldn't be more excited with our amazing line up. Last time we got together here at the GLAM! blog, we told you about our returning GLAMAZONS - Diana, Marilla, Lee-Anne and Emily - but now we are even more excited to tell you all about our five BRAND NEW GLAMAZONS!

That's right, on top of the four amazing performers who have graced our stage before, we are excited to bring five all new, all fresh talent to perform at GLAM! and let me just tell you, this group of people is more fabulous then half the the diva's at a drag queen convention!

First up we have our token male comedian - the amah-zing John Hastings! Those who follow the comedy scene in the east end (Cabbagetown - I'm looking at you), you know John as one of the funniest comedians out there, and aren't we lucky that he is going to cross the tracks to come join us on the West End for a night of comedy at SuperMarket? Don't let his dreamy good looks through you off - this guy is funny and smart. Hastings delivers both punch and laughter when he is on stage, and we are excited to welcome him to the halls of the GLAMAZONS!

Join John, is the irreplaceable and often time referenced Sara Hennessey! Those who own a TV and have found themselves watching Video on Trail all Saturday afternoon, will recognize the faboo Sara in all her glory. Sara's comedy is both hilarious and unique....the first time I saw her live, had me spitting my drink out from laughter. She has opened for Maria Bamford & Honorary GLAMAZON Debra DiGiovanni, she has been on The Jon Dore Television Show and if that's not enough she is now starring in her own web series "Goodbye Sara Hennessey"! Sara - we cannot wait to welcome you to the GLAM! stage!

If that wasn't enough, sharing the stage with Sara and John is the musical stylings of the fabutan Alberta Darling! Alberta Darling is one of the most exciting groups around that also happens to be a string quintet! That's right there are five of them....playing string instruments! Guitars, cellos and violins unite for this Toronto based group that is sure to have you tapping your feet and cheering along for what can only be described as "string perfection".

You are probably asking yourself now....what else could we ask for? We have string quintets, comedians of both genders (who will make you pee your pants with laughter), and some fabulous returning GLAMAZONS....but that's not all...we still have two more AMAZING performers coming to GLAM! They are by definition - perfection in performance! Can you believe it!? So much talent and we aren't even done yet!

First up is the showgirl by definition, talent by profession - Kaitlin Lane! Kaitlin has been preforming across the country showcasing her talent when it comes to singing and entertaining. Those have seen her said she is the definition of GLAM! (Powerful, humourful and Glamourful) and we couldn't agree more. Always exciting, always styling! We are excited to have her perform on our stage.

Finally - and definitely not least is the magnificent Rachelle Elie! We first caught wind of Rachelle at Shelley' Marshall's Full Brawdy Comedy Show, where she rocked the show and her performance. But Rachelle has a long track record of being fabulous. Just spend five minutes browsing her website and you'll see the allocates just roll in. See Magazine, Eye Toronto, Montreal Gazette, all are proud to promote this amazingly talented woman who not only dominates but delivers an evening of hilarity and comedy! We couldn't be more thrilled to have her join us on June 5!

And there you have it...Quite possible the BEST GLAM! line up ever...We have something for everyone - pretty faces telling hilarious jokes & singing their hearts out! I can promise you won't regret the evening! And it's all for charity.

So make sure you come down! June 5th 2012 to GLAM! Cancer Can Sux it Edition!

Do it for the children!

GLAM! Cancer Can SUX it Edition! Returning GLAMAZONS - Marilla Wex, Emily Roach, Lee-Anne Galloway and Diana Love

2012-05-06T19:35:00.002-07:00

I am so excited about this next GLAM! not only do we have a collection of stellar newbie GLAMAZON'S but we also have the return of some of our Favorite GLAMAZON'S in the last few years.

First off, how exciting is it that Diana Love, fresh off her National Television appearance on Comedy Now, is going to be HOSTING this edition of GLAM! That is truly epic. If you don't remember Diana - you should be shot. But seriously, Diana has been at every GLAM! so far and we consider her our good luck charm. With a name like Diana Love she could either be a porn star or the nicest person you ever meet...luckily Diana is the nicest person, with many opinions on porn stars. We couldn't be happier having her host our first ever GLAM! Cancer Can SUX it Edition.

Joining Ms. Love on stage is one of our favourite imports - Marilla Wex. Marilla has appeared at two GLAMS in the past, and has had us laughing our guts out every time. For the last year, she has been putting on and promoting one of Toronto's greatest night's out - Storytelling at Caplansky's. At Storytelling her and he fabulous husband join others in reading and performing passages and stories from live and its wonder while enjoying some smoked meat. Marilla is and will always be the definition of GLAM! and so we are excited to have her back, bring the power humour and glamour.

Not only do we have Marilla and Diana joining us, but we have the return of the amazingly talented Lee-Anne Galloway. For those who don't know their GLAM! history - Lee-anne opened up our first ever GLAM! with a broadway performance that was both stunning and impressive. She made all of us wish we could belt it out as good as she could. Well after sharing her gift with thousands of people around the world, she is back to grace our stage with songs from Legally Blonde and Songs for a New World. Let me just say...she's gonna kill it!

And no GLAM! would be successful with out one Toronto's hidden gems. Emily Roach has been at every GLAM! either on stage or in the booth helping with tech. When you needed a good laugh, or a destressing beer, she was the one who got it. Always on it, always observant, she doesn't just deliver she amazes the world with her pure sense of comedic timing and understanding.

So there you have it...the returning GLAMAZONS to our GLAM! Cancer Can SUX it Edition. Look at the freak'n calibre of talent we have and thats only 4 of the 9 stellar performers we have booked! Make sure you check back for more information and put in your calendar! June 5th, 2012 - Supermarket @ 8:30pm...

Be there or be square....

In Memoriam: Coby McFarlane

2012-05-01T22:02:00.002-07:00

Earlier today, my Grandma - Coby McFarlane entered into coma, the final stage in her battle with Cancer. My family is by her side in Alberta, and they estimate she doesn't have much longer. At 81, she has lived her life to the fullest and is now ready to move on from here.

Grandma is one of the many people who I have lost over the years to Cancer. In 2000, when I was only 16 my mother died from her five year battle with the disease. Only a few years prior, my grandfather suffered the same fate. I have seen friends and family, extended and distant deal with this awful disease time and time again.

There is currently no cure for Cancer. It is a disease that eats away at our body, and the only solution is to cut it out, but even then it may not be good enough. Chemo and Radiation combat the disease but are not medicine like cough syrup or tylenol. It's all to prevalent how often cancer presents it self in our society.

In 2010, I wrote a screenplay about my family's struggle with the disease, and in it the main character hears the word cancer over and over again in a pop culture montage...It's everywhere and so hard to escape. This is why I am honoured to put on my GLAM!'s for Cancer Research.

Despite the amount of work, time and money that goes into these events, it is so rewarding to know that my time, energy and your donations is going towards finding a cure. Finding an answer and helping others deal with this painful process.

My family started the Pat McFarlane Cancer Research Foundation for one reason, to ensure future children don't have to deal with what we have. As I see my Dad say goodbye to another loved one to this awful disease, I want to remind people that the children don't have to be 2 or 5 or 15 but can be 51. Cancer has too long been a battle in my family and our world.

Please do your part to fight this awful disease. Donate today to your local cancer research foundation. And most importantly hug your loved ones. If I could have one wish in life, it would be to spend 5 minutes hugging my mother tightly.

I love you Grandma. Now go on and smile...time to see your husband, daughter in law, sisters and brothers in heaven.

Love Christopher

GLAM! Is coming back with VENGEANCE

2012-04-17T14:23:00.001-07:00

WELL HELLO MY LITTLE GLAMAZONIAN FRIENDS!

Can you believe that it's been so long since our last GLAM!? I don't believe it....It really is so much fun when we do this show and this next one is NO exception! We are just putting the final touches on ONE OF THE BEST FREAKEN lineups we have EVER had!

Now this isn't to say our previous GLAMAZON'S weren't amazing, (they are like my children that I never call until I need more booze) but each one just gets more and more proactively mind-blowing better!

We have locked down 4 out of 5 of our comedians, 2 of our 3 "acts" and for the first time one of our FAVORITE GLAMAZON'S is going to be hosting this evening of GLAMOUR, POWER, HUMOUR.

So keep your eyes peeled....your lipstick ready...and for the guys....ummm? Your hair quaffed? Do guys quaff their hair? I don't know....Because the next GLAM! is coming at you with VENGEANCE on June 5th 2012!!!

Return of GLAM!

2012-04-06T17:37:00.000-07:00

WHOOO! Are you like me and just missing GLAM!? I know I am....It's been a busy few months, what with me galloping the world for CANADA SINGS! and then learning how to avoid ice on BATTLE OF THE BLADES....I haven't even had the chance to think...when can we do another GLAM!

(the Fabooo Jeffrey Buttle - for those who don't know FS as well as one does when surrounded by it for 3 years)

Well guess what! Now is the time! I am very excited to say that there are new developments in the GLAM! World...

First off....our next big GLAM! I am still thinking of the Theme, but why not doing one at the End of May Early June? That's when everyone is jonesing (yes Jonesing!) to get out and enjoy the sun with some beer....Too bad we couldn't do one outside under the stars....oh I digress! Anyways....I am starting the theme for that now! June sounds lovely!

Speaking of June! The end of June is Toronto's Favorite week of PRIDE! Last year we had an AMAZZZZZING Pride show at SuperMarket and as much as we loved it, I would love to do something inside the Village this time...NO not the Village from M Night, but the Village as in the place that has glitter everywhere and looks like Liza Minelli's Anu-......SOOOO

We are right now pursing venues (well so far 1 venue that we REALLY want) and hopefully we can do our first EVER! GLAM! Pride Bachelor Edition! - Think about it....Live Bachelors (and Ettes) auctioned off for you our GLAM! Lovers....While being crudely introduced by a Drag Queen or two....wouldn't that be fabulous!

I think so.....

Anyways that's the update in the GLAM! World! I hope your life is just as Fabulous!! See you all in 2 Months at the NEXT FREAKIN GLAM!
