We saw it in New York Fashion Week. Stripes are striking hard this season! But not just any kind of stripes, black & white ones! Don’t worry color-lovers! Marc Jacobs made room for a few red ones too!

Raf Simon’s Dior Debut

Despite the daunting pressure, he lived up to the audience’s expectations. Raf Simons, who announced he was leaving Jil Sander for Christian Dior in February, presented his collection yesterday. It seems Raf is embracing Dior’s with a touch of his own signature… wouldn’t say that red coat doesn’t remind me of his summer’s 2011 collection. See it for yourself!

A pesar de la gran presión, estuvo a la altura de las expectativas. Raf Simons, que anunció que abandonaba Jil Sander para hacerse cargo de Dior en febrero, presentó ayer su colección. Parece que Raf ha acogido a Dior dándole un toque de su propia firma… no puedo decir que ese abrigo rojo no me recuerde a la colección de verano de 2011. ¡Véanlo por sí mismas!

Spring Makeup That Will Make You Spring

We all know it. Pastel colours are a must this season. Find perfection in Dior’s new mint nail polish (aka Waterlily) or Chanel’s Rose de Mai single eyeshadow. Invest in a collector’s piece buying the Dior’s Garden Clutch or get the most ravishing lip colors ranging from pinks, corals, oranges and even white lip balms.

Todas lo sabemos. Los colores pastel son un must esta temporada. Encuentra la perfección en el nuevo pintauñas color menta de Dior (también conocido como Waterlily) o en la sombra monocolor Rose de Mai de Chanel. Invierte en una pieza de coleccionista al comprar el Garden Clutch de Dior o hazte con los colores más cautivadores de lapices de labios que van de los rosas, corales, naranjas hasta incluso blancos bálsamos labiales.

As promised in my youtube video, Chanel and Dior – Spring Makeup Collections 2012, here are some swatches of the products I purchased. Chanel’s single eyeshadows are the least pigmented (Tigerlily and Rose de Mai) followed by the Chanel quad (Éclosion), although the colors became considerably more vivid after spraying the brush with water. Dior’s eyeshadows turned out to be the easiest to blend plus the little clutch is just über cute!

Como os prometí en mi video de youtube, Chanel and Dior – Spring Makeup Collections 2012, más abajo tenéis unas muestras sobre la piel de los productos que he comprado. Las sombras monocolor de Chanel son las menos pigmentadas (Tigerlily y Rose de Mai), seguidas de las cuatro sombras de Chanel (Éclosion), aunque los colores se tornaron considerablemente más vivos desprués de rociar el pincel con agua. Las sombras de ojos de Dior resultaron ser las más fáciles de difuminar además de venir en un bolsito monísimo.

On the contrary, no matter how much I rubbed my finger in Dior’s lipsticks I just couldn’t distinguish between the two of them when I put them on my lips. I tried to take a picture of them but they are as sheer as crystal and the camera couldn’t pick up the difference (not that there was any). What my camera seemed to like much better were Chanel lipsticks…

Por el contrario, a pesar de lo mucho que retregué mi dedo por los pintalabios de Dior, no fui capaz de distinguirlos cuando me pinté los labios. Intenté hacer una foto pero son tan translúcidos como una gota de agua y la cámara no fue capaz de plasmar la diferencia (si es que había alguna). Sin embargo, lo que a mi cámara parecieron gustarle mucho más fueron los pintalabios de Chanel…

And last but not least, my two favourites – Chanel’s new lip definer (Rose Corail, no. 49) and waterproof eyeliner (Grenat, no.85).

Y por último, pero no menos importante, mis dos favoritos: el perfilador de labios (Rose Corail, nº49) y el lápiz de ojos resistente al agua (Grenat, nº 85).

OTD – Transitioning into Spring

The weather has been crazy for the past month – the cherry trees started blooming a couple of weeks ago, then temperatures dropped and we had to grab the (ugh) coat again! We already went spring shopping and have our closets bursting with new clothes that we can’t wear (not yet!). I am going to show how to combine the old winter clothes with the newly purchased items that still have the label on …. while we transition to warmer times (sigh).

¡Menudo tiempo de locos hemos tenido durante el último mes! Los cerezos empezaron a brotar hace unas semanas, después cayeron las temperaturas y ¡tuvimos que volver a ponernos el abrigo (ahg)! Nos fuimos de compras de primavera y tenemos los armarios rebosante de cosas que no nos podemos poner (¡todavía no!). Te voy a enseñar a cómo combinar las viejas prendas de invierno con los artículos recién comprados de los que aún cuelga la etiqueta… hasta que venga el calorcito (suspiro).

SPLASH ME MARC !

They are already here. The long-expected splashes from Marc Jacobs have already hit the stores. This year Marc surprised us relaunching an old scent, Rain from 2006, and introducing two new ones, Kumquat and Hibiscus. In fact, that is not all that is new. A new format of 100 ml will replaced the 300 ml bottles.

Ya están aquí. Los tan esperados splash de Marc Jacobs ya han llegado a las tiendas. Este año, Marc nos ha sorprendido con la vuelta de un viejo aroma, Rain de 2006, y con la presentación de dos nuevos: Kumquat e Hibiscus. De hecho, esto no es lo único que es nuevo. Los frascos de 300 ml serán reemplazados por un nuevo formato de 100 ml.

Rain: created by Lauren Le Guernec. A watery-flowery fragance that evokes a summer downpour.

Top notes: wild strawberry, clementine and cypress.    Notas predominantes: fresa silvestre, clementina y ciprés

Here it is. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it sure is something DIFFERENT. Amazona bags moving to the sound of circus music, pseudo alternative rich kids blabbering about their grandma’s (now vintage) bags. The smell of leather, fluor colors and lots of rocker chic outfits.

Aquí lo tenéis. Quizá no sea del gusto de todos pero lo que sí es cierto es que es algo DIFERENTE. Bolsos Amazona que se mueven al son de música circense, pseudo pijo alternativos hablando por hablar sobre los bolsos de sus abuelas (ahora considerados vintage) . El olor a piel, colores flúor y mucho modelito rocker chic.
