5 Day's of Thrifted Outfits

I haven't been blogging as much lately, and it's been for a good reason. I've been working non-stop on getting my Wardrobe Consulting & Personal Shopping business off the ground and running here in Nashville. I've been going to tons of networking events and meeting new people. It's been great, but I have neglected my blog in the meantime.

This post and the "5 Day's of Thrifted Outfits" posts that will follow next week is a challenge to myself to get back at it. This series of posts couldn't have come at a better time. My best friend (and pretty much sister) Amanda came up last week for a visit. We talk on the phone often, but since she lives about an hour away, we don't get to see each other as much as we used too.

I've become an avid thrifter since starting to write this blog, and Amanda had been wanting to come up for some time to go check out some of the great thrift stores here in the Nashville/Franklin area. We ended up only going to one, and it's because we spent 3 hours in that particular store and didn't have time to go check out any others. It's ok though!

We had so much fun, and of course we came away with some fabulous deals. Follow along next week as I post 5 Day's of Thrifted Outfits. I will let you all in on all the great things we found.

I think we took two or three trips to the dressing room. This photo was from our first trip!

I ended up going home with four large bags of goodies!!

Guiltless Grab Friday has been MIA over the last couple of weeks. I'm so sorry!!! I just needed some time off over the holidays to rest and relax.

Guiltless Grab Friday is returning today with a fabulous pair of Stuart Weitzman loafers. I found these loafers for a whopping $2.99 at a local thrift store. I can't wait to wear them! 10 Fashion First of 2011 (as they apply to me)

As I was sitting here having my coffee this morning, I ran across this great blog hop, Monday Listicles. I like to participate in different hops from time to time. Thought this would be a fun one to do, and add a little bit of a fashion twist to it.

The list for today's hop is "10 Firsts that happened in 2011."

My list is "10 Fashion Firsts of 2011" as they apply to me!!

I lost my job in corporate America back in January, so this year has been full of transitions. However, for the most part, they have been great transitions, and those transitions have provided for some fun and new opportunities. With that said, here is my list.

1. I started thrift shopping again.
2. I wore (and continue to wear) jeans almost every day.
3. I reintroduced boots and some heels into my wardrobe.
4. I joined a great online shoe site, Just Fabulous. All shoes (boots included) are only $39.95. Plus, when you first join, you get 20% your first item, and they offer great deals and specials all the time.
5. I started writing this blog!
6. I started doing Guiltless Grab Friday, which is a post I do every Friday featuring a great deal I find while out and about. Some of my Guiltless Grab's have been great thrift finds. Some have been great garage sale finds, and some have just been great clearance or sale finds.
7. I did my first online "Shop My Closet" giveaway on my blog. I ended up giving away three great finds!
8. I joined Pinterest, and I became immediately addicted! I find tons of fashion and everyday outfit inspirations there.
9. I started my "Fashion and Friends Weekend Blog Hop"
10. I started my own business, Effortless Style!! Yay!! I do personal shopping and wardrobe consulting for all of my clients. I've been doing this for years on the side, and it is a dream come true to be able to do it full time!!
