Madewell Extended Sizes are here, friends!!!

Did you hear the good news? Madewell Extended Sizes are available across the brand!  I know, right! I practically broke out into a dance when I heard. I can spot a great pair of jeans from a mile away. One of my co-workers wearing a mid wash, high waisted pair of button front jeans and I said, “Those jeans are so cute.” Of course, I asked where they were from. She said, “Madewell!”  I did what anyone would do and I Googled Madewell plus size jeans.  I quickly realize it’s not a store for me. Until now, sisters!!!!

In January Madewell launched their ever so famous jeans in extended sizes. Customers went crazy and they sold out immediately.  Now, Madewell is offering more options, including jeans up to a size 35 which equals a size 18-20  (16w) in US sizing. Madewell says some styles will be offered in size 37.  The brand will send a selection of jeans to some stores, in extended sizes for customers to try on.  As of now, extended sizes can be ordered online. Let’s just hope our sisters that can try before they buy share what they learn about the Madewell Extended Sizes with all of us who don’t have that option.

Don’t forget that Madewell is now offering extended sizes across the brand.  Which means they will now not only offer jeans but they will offer tops, bottoms, and jackets in extended sizes, too!

You know mama had to get her hands on some pieces so I could tell you all about it.  Funny story, I kinda just stumbled upon Madewell extended sizes as I was browsing on Nordstrom’s website.  Now, Nordstrom doesn’t have a huge selection due to how quick items are selling out.  However, I was able to get my hands on two shirts.  Today, I’m sharing my favorite shirt with you.

I’m a basics girl! I love to have pieces that I can throw on with a cute pair of jeans, fun shoes and a few accessories to jazz up a basic outfit.  This is one of those tops.  I picked up the Madewell Texture & Thread V-Neck Modern Tie Front Top in Red from Nordstrom.com. I purchased a 3x ( 20W-22W)  which is my normal size for when buying tops.

When my order arrived in the mail, of course,  I opened it right away, and the first thing I noticed was the length.  It looked a bit shorter than what I thought It would be.  Once I actually put the shirt on, I was able to loosen the tie in the front- which gave me more width and length. I think it’s important to note the sleeve is more a bit snug, however, this isn’t anything new for me.  Being 100% cotton is was cool when worn with a pair of jeans on a hot summer night.  Madewell clothing is sturdy & high quality which I don’t mind the price tag because of that.  I actually love this top and I will probably be picking it up in the other two colors.

I worked overnight, woke up the next day, and felt like it was Christmas morning.  Here’s the thing, I honestly was super excited about the Good American jeans that were on sale.  I mean, to get a $50+ dollar discount on the jeans I love the most, come on!

Hey friends!

Believe it or not colder temperatures are upon us. With colder weather come changes to my beauty routine. Today we are talking all about my favorite Fall Beauty Essentials from Meijer.

During the summer in not one who pays much attention to my body care routine. I’m constantly applying and re applying sunscreen so my skin stays in pretty good health. However, winter is a totally different story. The second the temperature starts to drop, my skin starts to get dry and dehydrated.

When my skin gets dry it really affects the skin on my legs the most. Because the skin is so dry on my legs, when I shave, the hair can’t properly regrow. Typically as your leg hair starts to regrow, it would penetrate the skin a grow like normal. Well… for me it doesn’t. The hair starts to grow under the surface of the skin, causing ingrown hairs. This is all because my skin is so dry.

Well, that was until I found a shaving routine that works for me, using products that can be found at your local Meijer stores.

It’s all about a routine

I’ve said it time and time again. Just like skincare you’re not going to magically change your skin with one product. It’s take a few great products, consistently, and patience to turn your skin around- including the skin on your body.

One of my Fall Beauty Essentials is a good razor. Because I struggle with ingrown hairs. I need a good 5 blade razor that provides a close shave. This Gillette Venus Comfort Glide with Olay not only allows me to get a close shave, but it the Olay moisture bars provide added moisture leaving my skin more hydrated.

With any great razor, you need a great shave cream. I found Cremo shave cream awhile ago. This shave cream is like no other shave cream I’ve used. Cremo give your the closest shave and dramatically reduces nicks and razor irritation. And did I mention is incredibly hydrating? Oh, and it’s a 90 day supply because it a highly concentrated formula!

Lastly, I rely on a highly body wash to provide moisture, because I don’t alway have time to apply body lotion and I don’t really like how lotion feels on my skin. The Olay Outlast Purifying Birch Water and Lavender has a great scent and leaves my skin feeling clean without dying it out.

The anticipation has been building for years, whether IKEA was going to make its way to Indiana.  When I found out that the city of Fishers was getting an IKEA I was elated!  However, I’m a newbie to IKEA, but I learned so much about How to Shop at IKEA as a Newbie when I went to the recent press, and I want to share 3 keys to shopping at IKEA as a Newbie Family!

1. IKEA loves Families

So moms and dads listen up!  They love us so much that they don’t want us to have to walk 12 miles to our car with a blue bag stuffed to the brim with goodies, while also lugging a 45 lb child that’s fallen asleep in IKEA.  Family parking spaces are reserved near the front entrance for expectant mothers and families at most IKEA locations.  So nice, right?!

Did you know they offer childcare? Right,  my mind was blown!  Smaland the magic forest of play and fun. Is where you can drop your children off for a more peaceful, seamless shopping trip. However, there are some requirements.  Your child must be potty trained, meet posted height requirements, you MUST stay in IKEA  while your child is in Smaland and there is a time limit.  Those are just a few key requirements.  They will share more upon drop off.

2. Join the IKEA Family Loyalty Program

How does FREE coffee sound? What about an extra 30 minutes of kid-free shopping time?  Oh, what about 90 price protection?  Well, these are all perks to being an IKEA family member- did I mention it’s FREE!!

Here is a list of my favorite  IKEA Family perks!

3. Explore the Showrooms

For me, this was my biggest takeaway because home design doesn’t come easily to me.  I very visual, so taking a stroll through the rooms they have set up was giving me a lot of inspiration and ignited creativity for elements I wouldn’t think to put together.  In the Indy locations, they have 50 rooms to drawl inspo from.

Another cool element is they have rooms set up by square footage so you can visually see how your room would look while taking in how it feels, too!

Going back to how IKEA loves family, they are aware that not every family and/ or person has the same budget.  In the kitchen section of the building. There was what they call “Kitchens for many” which was a full on mock kitchen set up in $3,000, $12,000 and $18,000 price range!  I loved this idea!

Also, a quick pointer, if you stay on what IKEA calls the “natural paths” you won’t get lost.  Because there are arrows projected from the ceiling to keep you on track.  Be sure to find the big blue directional signs to find “shortcuts” for a quick shopping trip.

Take this sweatshirt for example! I’m a mom and I don’t want clothes that are fussy for everyday wear. I like this style because it’s more fitted through the mid section. I appreciate that since the sleeves make a heavier statement. It’s the perfect balance for my body type. This a straight size top, I’m wearing a XXL.

How can you not love the sleeves? Honestly the sleeves are what made me love this top! And the pearls are perfectly placed and darling!

Plus Size Good American Jeans

These jeans, y’all! They are the Good American brand. These are hands down THE BEST JEANS OF LIFE! I’ve never been one to splurge on jeans, but as I get older I realize that quality is way more important to me than quantity. I have an apple shape, and It’s really difficult to find jeans that fit my legs, without cutting my circulation off in the stomach area. These jeans are made for ladies with bigger bums. Meaning they have much more room in the waist than most denim. So, they also work for me because I have a larger mid section.

But what I love the most is that they don’t stretch out after 20 minutes. They do loosen up, but don’t lose their shape!

These shoes are the perfect way to add an it if fancy to any outfit! I love adding shoes with an unexpected print, loud color, or funky texture. It takes the look to a whole new level!

So what do you think? I just love the simplistic chic vibe that this outfit gives off. I was able to move around without feeling restricted. These jeans are the best thing since slicked bread and you all need them, ok?!
