Scarves Dot Net - Jeanna Leopard Crinkle Scarf Review + Giveaway!

Scarves Dot Net, formerly known as Affordable Scarves, is the place to go if you are in need of cute scarves for a low price. They have tons of styles to choose from for just about any occasion or season, such as long scarves, plaid scarves, floral scarves, and so much more. You can browse through categories such as season, shape, trend, color, length, and material, to find just what you are looking for. Their prices really cannot be beat either, each scarf ranges from $10-$20.

If you do not wear scarves, then you really should consider getting some, because they are a great way to accessorize. I used to avoid scarves, because I was not sure how to wear them, if you are confused about how to wear them as well, you should check out this helpful guide on 37 ways to tie a scarf.

I ended up choosing the Jeanna Leopard Crinkle Scarf. A leopard print scarf is just such an essential piece in any woman's wardrobe, so I knew I wanted something animal or leopard print. I also liked the colors on this one, I felt like it could go well with just about anything. I didn't pay attention to the measurements, but it is actually quite a large scarf (74" L x 42" W). This gives you plenty of room though to try out all those different ways to tie a scarf. I usually wrap mine around like a circle scarf or I just do a simple tie.

There are so many other great scarves from Scarves Dot Net that I want to get:

The Claire Infinity Scarf would add a bright pop of color to any plain outfit. Sometimes simple is a great way to go and I love the bright pink color!

Plaid is another one of those basic must have scarf prints. The purple makes this one unique.

How cute is the Sue Floral Scarf? I think it would be great for Spring.

Jewelmint - Wing It Earrings Review

I'm wearing the Wing It Earrings and the Rose Palace Dome Ring from Jewelmint.

I know I recently did a Jewelmint review, but I got another piece of Jewelry from them and I thought I would share. I actually really wanted the Wing It earrings, so you can imagine my delight when they unexpectedly showed up at my doorstep.

I like the feather earring trend. I think the feather extension trend is fading fast, but I don't think feather earrings will be going away any time soon. I was only a little hesitant in picking these out, because I thought they would be too big. I don't know why, but the image on the website gave me the impression that these would be ridiculously huge, but they really aren't.

I love the purple color on these. The color really pops if you are wearing a plain outfit. These stand out from other feather earrings, because of the beads, and it is a really cute combination. I think these are great for Spring too, because of the light topaz tint on the beads and the light violet color of the feathers. They are also great paired with the Rose Palace Dome Ring I recently picked up from Jewelmint. The color of the beads on the earrings and the cabochon on the ring almost match.

They seem like they are made really well, the feathers aren't falling out or anything like that. My only complaint, is that my earrings kept falling out of my ears when I wore them. To keep that from happening, I think you could bend the back of the earrings, but I would recommend getting some rubber backs for them. I just took the backs off of another pair of earrings that I have and put them on. So, it's not really a big deal. Just letting you know, so if you have them or do decide to get them, that they don't fall out and you end up losing them!

Today's challenge is "favorite animal". This is an easy one for me. My favorite animals are dogs. I like them because they really enjoy human companionship, and they have their own little personality. I have had a cat before, but I am definitely more of a dog person. I like taking my dog for a walk and going to the park with her. My favorite breed of dog is the Chihuahua, but I also like other small dogs like Chinese Crested and Pomeranians.

I'm back with another clothing review for Eden Fantasys. If you are not familiar with Eden Fantasys, they are an online adult shop that sells sex toys, lingerie, candles, massage oils, and all those other goodies you would expect to find in a sex shop, but not only do they have all that stuff, but they also sell makeup, bath products, and clothes! You could definitely find some romantic stuff for Valentine's day as well, because they have lots of fun products for couples, such as games, edible body paints, and massage kits.

When I saw the Simply Sexy Top at Eden Fantasys it was like love at first sight. You ever have that feeling with particular piece of clothing? Every once in awhile I find something that just screams my taste and I have to have it. I guess because I have an affinity for the color pink and lace. The cowl neckline is usually flattering. The back is also really pretty with a little bit of bling on the back.

I ordered this top as soon as the smalls came back in stock. When it arrived, I immediately tried it on, and I noticed that it was a little more revealing than what I was expecting. With closer inspection, I noticed that the lace is actually quite different than what was shown in the picture. The actual design, makes much of the bottom lace half sheer and see through. I still like this top, but I would only wear it to a club or a bar. Although, you might be able to get away with wearing this top out in public, if you pair it with a tank top underneath. Oh, and don't be fooled by the color of my pictures, the color is pretty true to the images on the site. The picture on the right was taken with flash, and it washed out the bright pink color.

I just received my 2nd piece of Jewelry from Jewelmint! In October I did a review on the Here To Eternity Set. When you first sign up, you fill out a quick and fun survey about your style and jewelry preferences. Then you will get your own personal showroom with the selections Jewelmint picks out for you. If you do not like the jewelry in your showroom, you can always add and delete items, and this helps Jewelmint pick out better selections for you. Jewelmint comes out with new and totally exclusive jewelry every month, but if you do not feel like ordering every month, you do not have to.

Some of my favorite pieces in my showroom include:

Parisian Dream Earrings. I love the color combo of pink and lavender. These are some very large statement earrings. I don't usually like really bold pieces, but these are pretty and feminine enough to pull off easily.

I really love the Fantasia Necklace and I guess a lot of other people did too, because before I could get my hands on it, it was sold out. I really hope that they bring this necklace back. The pink resin gem, makes this piece very unique and pretty.

Now for the piece that I picked out: The Rose Palace Dome Ring. I chose this piece, because I think a bold cocktail ring should be a staple in every girl's wardrobe. This ring has a large light coral color half dome cabochon in the center with crystal pave accents surrounding it. On the sides there are 3 rows of light pink, pink, and lavender gems. The pastel colors makes this a perfect piece for the Spring months coming up.

I got this ring in a size 6, which is the only size left right now. My ring finger is a size 6, but I wish I could have gotten this in a size up so I could have worn it on my middle finger instead. Because of the somewhat heavy weight and big size of the ring, I would recommend wearing this on the middle finger and not the ring finger. Although, you could definitely wear it on whatever finger you want.

I haven't been posting lately, because I have been super busy with school. So my 30 day challenge is going to end up taking me a bit longer than 30 days. 30 Day Beauty Challenge: Day 4 - Favorite Foundation

I used to use Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation, but I wouldn't recommend using that foundation unless you need a lot of coverage. It's also expensive; $26.50. I heard a lot of good things about the Revlon Colorstay foundation from Beauty Gurus. So, I decided to give it a shot. I am glad I did, because it is my favorite foundation now. It is only $9-$10, and the quality of this foundation is close to Mac's, but it isn't quite as thick of a formula. Even the packaging looks similar to the Mac foundation. It really seems like a department store quality foundation, but the price is so low in comparison. I get this foundation in Natural Beige 220 and it is the perfect color for my skin tone.

30 Day Beauty Challenge: Day 3 - Favorite Brush

Today's beauty challenge is, "favorite brush". I assume I should pick my favorite makeup brush for this one. My favorite brush for my face is the Sigma Buffer F45, it is great quality; I have never noticed any hairs shedding off, it feels soft against the skin, and it picks up enough powder for a quick application. The F45 is my first Sigma brush and it left a really good impression on the brand. I would definitely love to own some more Sigma brushes. The Sigma F45 brush retails for $19 at Sigma Beauty.

My other favorite brush is the e.l.f. Essentials Blending Eye Brush. The brush quality is not the best, I do see some shedding of the hair and it doesn't give precise application, but it gets the job done. This is my go to brush. I always use this brush to apply eye shadow all over the lid and in the crease. I just find the flexibility of this brush easy to use. I also find that it picks up eye shadow well. This brush is ideal if you just want to do a simple eye shadow look and you want to do it quickly. The e.l.f. Essentials Eye Blending Brush retails for $1.

Why you shouldn't waste your time with LUUUX!

LUUUX.com is a website that give it's users redeemable points for posting articles, "liking" posts, and leaving comments. You can redeem these points for expensive items, such as a Louis Vuitton bag, UGG boots, Gucci Sunglasses, and Apple products, just to name a few. The idea of this website is great, but unfortunately you will end up spending a lot of time on this site, and once you have earned enough points to redeem anything, LUUUX will not fulfill your prize, due to some rule you didn't even realize you have broken.

Sure, there are people who have received their prizes. LUUUX will definitely send prizes to well known beauty gurus, because they are advertising their website and making people believe that they will be able to get prizes too. Just look it up online, and you will see that there are many people complaining that they have not received their prize.

Why is LUUUX not worth it?
1. They do not offer any decent inexpensive prizes. If they offered a $5 gift card, at least you wouldn't have to waste too much time to earn it.
2. Alot of their prizes only ship to Europe (some only ship to the US). Which makes their small selection of prizes even more limited.
3. Users have reported that they were sent fake UGG boots. They even had labels on them that said SNUGG instead of UGG.
4. Their website runs extremely slow, so you end up wasting even more of your time waiting for the pages to load.
5. There are too many rules. The rules are designed, so you will at least break one of them without even knowing it, and that way they have an excuse to not ship you your prize.

Here are some of the rules:

"Tag posts, diaries, personal blogs, LUUUX issues, wish lists, questions, asking for advice, blog promotion, contests, animals, referral links, and anything else that doesn't fit the description of "new & exciting" for the particular Universe, belong in the Community Universe."

How do you know if what you are writing about would be considered "new and exciting"? It probably isn't. So, you will have to post a majority of your articles under Community, and here's the kicker, Community posts don't earn points!

"It is really important to give credit to the original owner of the images you are using. All you have to do is to copy and paste the URL of the exact page where you are sharing the content. It is also important to remember though that any content that is copyright protected cannot be used on LUUUX, even with a source link! It is a good idea to ensure whatever you are posting is not protected by copyright because these posts can be removed from LUUUX and any earned LUUUX$ will be lost."

"When you place a shop order, it will be delayed until all images are properly sourced."

Basically they are telling you that you can use images that you did not take yourself, but you really probably shouldn't. Even if you find a picture on a website, you do not know if that is the image's original source and you do not know if it is copyright protected.

"Character requirements are in place for a reason. Adding a bunch of "-------", "??????" or "eeeeeeeee" is considered spam. Also adding two "??" or a few extra letters here and there. Moderators know the difference between filling up space and actually writing something meaningful. Also there is a box for the source link, so it does not need to go into the post to fill up space. The 250 characters should not include any links, your disclaimer (image does not belong to me), questions (what do you think? Hit or miss?) or asking for comments/rates."

Yep, asking your reader's a question in your post is against the rules.

"Blogs need to be well written, informative, and have substance. Posts that are too vague/generic will get moved. Polyvore & Hit or Miss posts normally get moved. Stay away from these types of posts."

I'm sorry, I rather have my own blog and not have to worry about whether my posts and comments are what LUUUX would consider too vague, superficial, not exciting enough, ect. If you want to blog, use blogger or wordpress, or some other source where you have the freedom to write whatever you please. If you want to earn prizes, there are easier and more legit websites you can do that at too.

30 Day Beauty Challenge: Day 2 - Favorite Bag That You Own

Today's challenge is a pretty easy one for me. I only own a few handbags, and I only use one of them.

I got the No Drama Shoulder Bag by Juicy Couture at Haute Look, it was only like $70, it usually retails for about $150. That might still seem pricey to some, but I prefer having one good bag that will last me awhile, rather than buy a dozen of cheap ones.

I think this handbag is cute, and I like that it goes with everything. I wear it every day and I've had it for over a year, and it is still in great shape. I am starting to get bored with it though. I want to get a new handbag, but I'm not sure what brand I want to get yet.

30 Day Beauty Challenge: Day 1 - Favorite Eyeliner

I decided I would do the 30 Day Beauty Challenge. I think I have finally found a 30 day challenge I can actually do. The whole list can be viewed here. The first day's challenge, is my favorite eyeliner.

To me, spending a lot on eyeliner doesn't make much sense. All eyeliners are pretty much the same, and achieve the same thing. Maybe, I just haven't found a really great department store eyeliner yet.
So, my favorite eyeliners are by a very inexpensive brand, e.l.f.! They are only $1 each, so you really can't beat that.

I use liquid eyeliner on my top lid and below my eye I use an eyeliner pencil. My favorite liquid eyeliner is e.l.f. Essential Liquid Eyeliner and my favorite pencil is e.l.f. Essential Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil.

The shimmer doesn't really show up on the shimmer eyeliner pencil, at least it doesn't on the black one. So, I wouldn't get it for that. The really neat thing about this eyeliner is that the cap is also a pencil sharpener. It sharpens the pencil really well and is easy to use. It's also very convenient, it's right there on your eyeliner whenever you need it.

Enjoy Hair Care - Themal Spray & Shine Spray Review + Giveaway!

I have seen Enjoy Hair Care products whenever I go to the salon. I have never tried them before and I don't believe my stylist has ever used them on me. I knew they had to be pretty good, because they are only sold at hair salons and if anywhere else probably professional beauty supply shops. Which means, they are truly professional styling products. So, when I got the oppurtunity to try these out, I was pretty excited.

I was pleasantly surprised when my packaged arrived. The first thing I noticed was the Thermal Spray (formerly Styling Spray) comes in a huge 10.1 oz bottle. It's the size of most hair sprays. Usually thermal protection sprays do not come in such large quantities. It is not an aerosol can like hair spray though. It is a plastic bottle and on the top, you just press down and it sprays out.

The Thermal Spray not only protects your hair from the heat of styling tools, but also creates firm, flexible, and brushable hold. So, it is like a thermal protection spray and a styling spray in one. At first I did not like that it made my hair a little stiff and the spray was stickier than I had imagined. But then I realized that this is a really good product if you want to curl your hair with a curling iron, you want the style to hold, but you hate how sticky and hard hair spray makes your hair, then this is a much better alternative to hair spray.

One thing I do not like about this spray though, is that it smells bad! It has a strong scent, that almost smells like hair dye. After using it a few times, I am starting to get used to the smell, but I still definitely do not like it. Thankfully, the smell does not linger in your hair.

A 10 oz bottle of Enjoy Thermal Spray retails for $18.64 (USD).

I also received a 3.4 oz bottle of Enjoy Shine Spray. "This alcohol free formula eliminates frizz, adds incredible shine, smoothness, and softness. Locks in moisture. Blocks out Humidity".

I really like this shine spray. It makes my hair super shiney. You really do not need to use much of this, and actually have to be careful about not over doing it. A couple sprays is enough. I use the shine spray after the thermal spray. I think these styling products really complement each other. You get a strong hold and protection from the thermal spray and then you get a beautiful shine and softness with the shine spray. The shine spray also smells great. It definitely has that professional hair product smell, that almost smells like cologne.

Royal & Langnickel Silk 7 PC. Makeup Brush Set Review + Giveaway!

I don't own many quality makeup brushes. I have a couple of makeup brushes from Sephora, but most of them are pretty cheap. Using cheap brushes can make applying makeup difficult, and the result can make your makeup look messy. I had been buying the top quality brands of makeup, but what I didn't realize was that it doesn't matter how great the makeup is that you are using when you are trying to apply it with an inferior brush.

So, I sought out for a brand that makes high quality professional brushes, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg. What I found was a brand called Royal and Langnickel. Not only do they make makeup brushes, but also brushes for painting and other art supplies. They offer many different types of makeup brushes, such as Silk Greenline; their eco-friendly line of makeup brushes, to Brush Essentials; for the novice makeup artist.

Their most popular line of makeup brushes, is the Silk Pro Line. I received the 7 piece set, which includes Dome Powder, Foundation, MD Eye Shader, Smudger, Angle Fluff, Angle Brow/Lash Brush and Lip Brush. The brushes come in a faux leather stylish black wrap with red stitching. The wrap is great for storing your makeup brushes and for travel.

These makeup brushes feel like such a high quality product in your hand. They are constructed very well with kin dried, hard wood barrel handles and the highest quality chrome plated brass ferrules that will not rust or damage easily. Some of the brushes are made with natural hair and some are made with synthetic. Both are good for different reasons. The natural brushes are very soft. The synthetic brushes are extra durable, and with advancements in synthetic fibers, they can now mimic the look, feel, and performance of natural hair brushes.

I personally don't need a whole lot of brushes, and wouldn't even know what to do with most of them, so a 7 piece set is perfect for me. I use the dome powder brush to apply my powder, the foundation brush I actually use to apply my bronzer, and then I use the shader, and the angle brushes to apply my eyeshadow. I love using the angle brush to apply and blend eyeshadow in the crease of my eyelid. I love that the brushes are so soft. The dome brush feels so nice against my skin when I apply my powder and blush.

One of the samples I received was Ageless. As the name suggests, this perfume is supposed to make you feel and smell 8-12 years younger. The secret is Ageless contains notes of pink grapefruit and mango, which according to recent studies conducted by the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago, is the olfactory antidote to aging. The fragrant notes disguise the familiar scent of age, caused by the breakdown of particular fatty acids in your skin.

I think a lot of perfumes can be overwhelming and smell like an "old lady", and that is the last thing I want anyone to think when they get a whiff of my perfume. Plus we all try anti-aging products for our skin, so why not an anti-aging perfume as well? I personally like this fragrance a lot. I think this perfume succeeds at smelling fresh and youthful thanks to it's mostly citrus scent.

I had my eye on the You're On Fire top for months. They became sold out in my size not long after they started selling it, so I wasn't able to buy it until recently. When my size finally came back in stock I knew I had to get it as soon as possible.

The You're On Fire top features a short sleeve silhouette with peek a boo shoulders, scoop neckline, fitted embellished bodice and straight hem. It is made of polyester and spandex. It is made by Espiral just like the Flirty Ruffles top I did a review on.

What made me love this top is the cut out shoulders. I have a few tops like that, and I think it looks really sexy to see a little bit of the shoulder. I also like the material that it is made of, it is slimming and looks and feels smooth. Whenever I wear it, I get compliments on it. My boyfriend told me he really likes it too.

The only thing I am not crazy about is the foil graphic. I know the graphic will eventually and unfortunately crack and wrinkle. Also, on the picture on their website, the graphic looks as if it would be on the side, but in person it is more in the middle than I would have expected.

This is what the top looks like on me. I think it is true to size. I usually wear a small, and the small fits great. It is tight fitting as it should be, but not too tight.

This top has been getting a lot of wear from me and I know it will be getting a lot more wear. It can be dressed up with heels and dark skinny jeans, or can be worn very casually.

I usually just flat iron my hair and wear it straight, but for special occasions or just to change things up I'll wear it curly or curls at the ends. Before I go out I always have to curl my best friend's hair, so my curling iron gets used quite frequently. The flexible swivel that is attached to the cord, makes twisting and curling easy. The only thing that I disliked is that sometimes when I am twisting the curling iron my hair slips out of the clamp. Which is why I prefer curling irons with a Marcel wand, but maybe that is just because I am used to using them. I know spring clips are much more common, so maybe I'm in the minority here.

Happy New Years - New Years Resolutions!

Happy New Years everyone! I don't usually make New Years resolutions, but setting goals is often the only way to make things happen. I decided to make a list of my goals for 2012 right here, so next year I can see how well I did with actually keeping my resolutions.

Goal #1 - Post on my blog at least once a week. - I have had this blog for over a year now. At first it was just an idea and it became so much more. This blog has given me so many things that I would have never discovered or been able to afford. I would still like it to be more than what it is though and in order to do that I need to post consistently.

Goal #2 - Save money - I have never saved up a substantial amount of money. Right now I have $0 in my savings account. Having money saved will help me, so I wont have another oh $#!& I'm broke moment when I need it most. I would be very proud of myself if I could actually resist myself from buying stuff I don't need when I have the extra cash.

Goal #3 - Be more independent and responsible - I am working on this one right now. I have finally got my drivers license, I bought my own car, I'm going on a job interview tomorrow, and I am starting school next week. There is so much change going on right now, it's a little overwhelming. My whole life is about to change for the better. There is still another step though; move into my own place.

Goal #4 - Work out at least 3 times a week - I know I don't always feel like working out, but even a 5 min. workout is better than none. I'm not 100% happy with the way my body looks right now. I know all of the benefits and how so many health issues can be avoided with a healthy diet and exercise. So, this is a must!

Goal #5 - Study More - I always procrastinate studying and then I end up cramming a few days before a test and staying up til 3am studying. This causes a lot of stress, and a loss of sleep. It could be avoided if I consistently studied a moderate amount everyday. It is also really important that I do this now, since I am starting a new program this year that will be more difficult than the college classes I am used to. The program only accepts 20 people a year, so I definitely do not want to blow this opportunity.

Goal #6 - Learn a new language - Since all of my goals have been about improving myself in a very necessary way. I decided to add one that isn't needed, but would be a great thing to achieve. This is something that I have wanted to do for a very long time.

My favorite sounds are train, city, fireplace, and meditation. I have noticed with other similar recordings on cds and other devices that you can hear when the sound ends, and it just becomes a continual loop that can actually get quite annoying. But with this device you can't tell when the recording begins and ends.

I appreciated that the device allows you to turn off the display lights, because even that tiny of a light can bother some people and disturb them from sleeping. I also liked that there were timers ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours. I turn on the 2 hour timer because I know it may take me awhile to get to sleep.

Not only can this device help you sleep, but it can also help you or your child's study habits, and help with Tinnitus (ringing in ears).

I think this device would make a great and very unique gift for the holidays.

Eden Fantasys Flirty Ruffles Top - Review

I have made many posts about items I want to buy and am excited to try ou from Eden Fantasys and I have purchased from them many times. So, I thought today I would like to review one of the items I got from Eden Fantasys. Well, just in case you aren't familiar with Eden Fantasys they are an online adult retailer that sells primarily sex toys, but also lingerie, clothing, beauty products, massage oils, and much more. You would be surprised with how many suitable Christmas gifts you will find there. All the women on my list will be getting some great Cake lotions, and makeup palettes I found on Eden Fantasys.

I chose to get the Flirty Ruffles Top. It is a very pretty teal top, it has a scoop neckline, short ruffle sleeves, and it comes with a belt but can be worn without it.

I actually like the color more in person than the picture on the website. It is the perfect teal color, and I don't even usually like teal, but this top is so pretty! The top is really quality made, and will last you awhile, however the belt on the other hand was quite the opposite, it was just too cheap and too large to fit under my bust. As you can see in the pictures, I decided to wear one of my own belts instead of the belt that came with it.

You might have to order a size up, because this top runs kind of small. Since, I had read reviews on how small they run, I decided to order a medium even though I usually fit into a small. The top was still tight fitting in medium, but not too tight. I think the medium top fits me perfect, but unfortunately the medium belt was way too big. The top runs small but the belt runs large, so you kind of have to choose between a tight top or a loose belt when ordering your size.

The back of the top has a deep plunging neckline. It looks nice and I was happy that it wasn't completely backless, because I can still wear a bra without the strap showing.

Overall, I am very happy with this top and I have been wearing it a lot. Even though I don't use the belt, I think this top is totally worth it. You can purchase the Flirty Ruffles Top for $34.99 at Eden Fantasys.
