Gaza Boat Convoy

On April the 20th 2010, a group of 100 individuals from the UK hope to take part in a boat convoy to the besieged GAZA strip Inshallah.

Most of us are veterans of two previous convoys with Viva Palestina who managed to break the siege with vehicles filled with aid to GAZA in March 09 and January 10. On the recent convoy we were very honoured to travel with a large group from INSANI YARDIM VAKFI an Islamic Turkish Charity and human rights organisation which is recognised by the United Nations

Today is a dark anniversary for Muslims. Not a day to remember, but one to forget. It is the day that the colonialists destroyed the Mother of all Faraid (the Khilafah).

Hizb.org.uk will serialise a set of three presentations to commemorate this day and establish what options are available to us today.

Islamic Relief Gaza Cup 2010

After the great success of last years tournament, this years annual Gaza Cup 5-a-side football competition will take place at a new indoor venue, Glasgow Soccerworld, on Sunday 7th March.

Around 16 teams from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Lanarkshire will participate in the event which will raise much needed money for the needy people of Gaza.

The event will also be vital in reminding people and highlighting the plight of the Gazans to those who have forgotten or may not be aware of the troubles the region has faced.<

The Citizens Company presents a one-woman play about Rachel Corrie, a twenty-three-year-old American, who was killed by an Israeli bulldozer in the Gaza Strip in 2003, as she was trying to prevent the demolition of Palestinian homes.

These and other question will be discussed in the Islamic Society of Britain’s Family Circle this Friday 5th March in Hillhead High School , 7pm.

We will be continuing with our discussion on the issue of “Reflecting on our Social Condition – Part 3” with Shaykh Amer Jamil as well as the usual speech and discussion their will be plenty of time to catch up with other Muslim Families over a tea and coffee.
