The TNA Maximum Impact Tour is coming to Glasgow for one night only on the 27th of January 2011.

Some of the biggest superstars that will be on tour (for the first time in the UK) are “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair; World Heavyweight Champion Rob Van Dam; and Jeff Hardy, “The Charismatic Enigma”.  Other stars joining them include Desmond Wolfe, Doug Williams, Beer Money and The Beautiful People.  Many more stars will also join them.

The show starts at 6pm.  Parking on-site is plentiful, and transport to Braehead is readily available from Glasgow City Centre.

Ticket prices start at £25.35 for tiered seating and range right up to £83.10 for ringside seats.  Your ticket prices will depend on where you want to sit!

Fan interaction tickets are also available to purchase through Ticketmaster.  This is where you will be able to meet some of your favourite wrestlers before the show, and comes with a strictly limited-edition official Maximum iMPACT! 2011 autograph book.  These cost £28.35 and the “meet and greet” lasts an hour from 5pm.

Fan interaction tickets are not valid without a ticket for the event.  Platimum packages are available which include both the fan interaction and a front/second row seat event ticket.

JLS, X Factor’s should be winners, are including one night in Glasgow’s SECC in their upcoming UK tour.  These tickets are selling fast, so get yours while you still can!!!

JLS, the most successful new group of 2009, end their incredible year by announcing their first UK Arena tour for December 2010.  Due to phenomenal demand JLS have added six dates to their arena tour, one of those being in Glasgow’s SECC on the 13th of December!

JLS’ February 2010 UK tour sold out within 24 hours with multiple dates were added due to popular demand for London and Manchester.  They would have sold out even quicker had it not been for the booking agents computers crashing due to the epic demand.

JLS have had am absolutely phenomenal year, since they competed in ITV’s X Factor.  Their first two singles ‘Beat Again’ and ‘Everybody In Love’ debuted at number 1 in the UK singles charts.  Their debut self-titled album was released in November 2009 and stormed to the top of the UK album charts, making it the fastest selling debut by a group since the Arctic Monkeys released theirs in 2006.  The album has now sold over a million copies.

As well as the record-breaking sales, JLS have been picking up various awards along the way.  In September they walked away with two MOBOs for ‘Best Newcomer’ and ‘Best Song for Beat Again.’  And earlier this year, JLS won ‘Best British Single’ for ‘Beat Again’ and ‘Best British Breakthrough Act’ at this years Brit Awards.

Russell Howard is bringing his brand new show, ‘Right Here Right Now’ to Glasgow for one night only in March 2011.

Best known to millions of people as a panelist on BBC 2′s Mock The Week, Russell Howard has also regularly appeared on Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Would I like To You, and has featured in Live at The Apollo twice.  He recently hosted his own show on BBC 3, ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ which has turned out to be the stations most successful studio show and it has been reported that two more series have now been commissioned.

As one of the UK’s most successful (and poplular) young comedians, his last tour ‘Big Rooms and Belly Laughs’ sold out very quickly, so before you think, ‘yeah, I’ll buy mine next week’, think again!  Tickets for his show are going to sell like hot cakes.

The charming rascal of the comedy scene has announced a UK tour for 2011 – ‘Right Here, Right Now’.  Kicking off in Cardiff on the 1st February, the tour continues throughout England, ending with a final night in Glasgow on the 5th March.

The real deal WWE superstar megastars of US wrestling are on tour once again, ready to bring pain back to Glasgow’s Braehead Arena in November 2010.

The line-up hasn’t been finalised or confirmed yet, but WWE superstars that will be on the tour include The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Kane, The Big Show, CM Punk, Kofi Kingston and Jack Swagger.  There will be many more though!!!

British reggae act UB40 are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut album “Signing Off” with a tour of intimate venues across the UK in autumn 2010, including one date in Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall in November.

Since the release of this album, and since their early years playing in bars around Birmingham, UB40 have become one of the most commercially successful reggae acts of all time in terms of record sales (over 80 million), chart positions (more than 40 UK hit singles) and touring schedule.

Father of synthpop, Jean Michel Jarre, is coming to Glasgow for a performance at Braehead Arena in October, 2010.

Widely regarded as a pioneer in the electronic, ambient and New Age genres, Jean Michel Jarre first gained mainstream success in 1976  with the solo album “Oxygene”.  Although he already had several completed works, “Oxygene” was responsible for his rise to international stardom, attaining a spot at number 2 in the UK album charts.  The album consisted of 6 numbered tracks, of which Oxygene IV is probably the most well known.

His subsequent albums throughout the 80′s and 90′s mostly charted high in the UK charts, with “Revolutions” in 1988 also reaching number 2 in the UK album charts.  But his music paved the way for a brand new genre, of which we can still see influences in many current artists including Air, Daft Punk and The Chemical Brothers.

In addition to the success and popularity of his albums, the French composer, performer and music producer is famous for producing absolutely astounding live performances. Jarre’s record breaking live shows have included start of the art lighting to fully realise his ambitious music.

The current 2010 tour debuted six months ago to full houses in the United Kingdom, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Holland, Poland…and to audiences of all generations.  It has been named after the title of the novel by Sir Arthur C. Clarke, whom Jean Michel Jarre wished to pay tribute to.

Katie Melua has one date in Scotland planned during her upcoming tour, in Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall during December 2010.

Georgian-born Katie Melua is a unique and remarkable singer-songwriter known and loved for singing open-hearted ballads.

The ever-popular Al Murray is back on tour this Autumn with an all new Pub Landlord tour, and will be stopping in Glasgow for one night this November.

Al Murray The Pub Landlord is back on the road to roll out his Barrel of Fun, a brand new stand-up show for 2010.  Britain’s best-known Pub Philosopher will be serving up his own special brew of bar room banter in Glasgow this November.

Scotland open their Euro 2012 qualification Group I campaign in Lithuania on 3 September 2010 and are at home to minnows Liechtenstein four days later on Tuesday 7th September 2010 at 8PM.

Tickets for the Liechtenstein match go on sale to the general public on the 17th August 2010 at 9am and can be bought online at the Official SFA ticket website.

The squad for these two matches have been announced with veterans David Weir and Paul Hartley being recalled and Blackpool goalkeeper Matt Gilks called up the first time. Gilks will be very unlikely to feature with only being called to cover injured Scotland’s no.1 Craig Gordon. Alan McGregor is likely to remain manager Craig Levein’s first choice with Norwich City’s David Marshall the other choice.

David Weir will be joined in defence by Alan Hutton, Stephen McManus, Christophe Berra, Kirk Broadfoot,  Lee McCulloch,  Lee Wallace, Andy Webster, Steven Whittaker and Kevin McNaughton.

In midfield Paul Hartley will be joined by Charlie Adam, Darren Fletcher, Scott Brown, Graham Dorrans, James Morrison and Barry Robson.

Front men Kris Boyd, Steven Fletcher, Chris Iwelumo, James McFadden, Kenny Miller and Steven Naismith complete the squad.

If you have never experienced a competitive Scotland match at Hampden Park this will be a great opportunity to do so, as tickets for competitive matches do not always go on general sale with tickets being offered to the Scotland Supporters Club first.

With Liechtenstein being considered a “footballing minnow”, tickets should be available right up to a few days before kick-off unlike the match against Spain later on this year that will likely only be available to the Scotland Supporters Club.
