Lots has been going on, an imminent (fingers crossed!) house move (can't wait to redecorate &amp; get my all own furniture!), a trip to New York City, &amp; just a general appreciation of this year's Summer. So far, the weather has (almost) held it's own pretty awesomely. Luckily, the sun shined for Lambeth Country Fair last week, where I saw a few goats (above), a couple of meerkats, oh &amp; of course the odd alpaca. Yesterday was another fair, this time in Clapham &amp; strictly for foodies only. Oysters were shucked, prosecco poured, herb gardens visited, &amp; I ended up seriously impressed (unexpectedly) with what the Co-op is currently offering. At their stall they were offering slices of pizza with prosecco for just £4, &amp; I feel the days of a dreary Co-op in comparison to more mighty giants like Waitrose are on their way out: a big marketing push, &amp; a cute alternative for weekly foodshops - heck, they're the main store on Lordship Lane!</span></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="color: #666666; Hair was tied back in messy topknots or plaited for the folkier looks, whilst eyes were finished with a swipe of liner just above the lid. Inspiration came from Ali McGraw in Love Story &amp; a more modern Chloe Sevigny (albeit one in a beige turtleneck &amp; oversized reading glasses); the models &nbsp;softly treaded the&nbsp;floorboards, picking out books &amp; whispering study notes between them. The O and the K from the brand was incorporated into several geometric prints, including felt overlay on black skirts. The green from the lamps was echoed in several different variations, from a bright ruffle-necked &amp; belted dress to the trim on a grey woollen sweater, &amp; a sparkly cocktail dress worn with a delicate scallop-trimmed blouse beneath. Graphic patterns intercut mohair sweaters &amp; tan leather totes. Unlike some collections whose&nbsp;existence rests purely on the theatrical &amp; the show, here were pieces that I could actually see styled into everyday life! Some of my favourite items included the high-necked sweaters &amp; tees with cut-out embroidered motifs, &amp; the delicately modest skirts with a flash of bronze cut through or a vibrant yellow lining dancing as the models strode into view. The first half of the collection glowed with neutrals, golden yellows &amp; intimidating whites, bookmarked with black pants or swinging maxi overcoats (NB, apparently there were two halves, Sophie at </span><span style="color: blue;"><a href="http://www.lafashionfolie.com/" target="_blank">La Fashion Folie</a> </span></span><span style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><span style="line-height: 15px;">ended up capturing the second half, so between us we covered full ground!) Silhouettes were bold and beautiful,&nbsp;empowering with glimpses of unabashed&nbsp;</span></span></span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><span style="line-height: 15px;">femininity such as the angled, pleated hem, or the pointed bralette. Accessorising was key, as ears were emblazoned with oversized cuffs or geometric shapes trailing over the neckline, and reflective silver&nbsp;hair ties captured the sleek ponytail of the Toga woman, keeping the whole look neat &amp; on track. Brushes of pink or yellow colour were&nbsp;boldly washed over the eyes whilst lips were kept nude, the colour rediscovering itself again on a gauzy yellow pocket here, a pink &amp; black sandal there. The subtle intricacies of a hand-stitched, crocheted sleeve, or a&nbsp;ruffled, gathered neckline continued to&nbsp;emphasise the idea that this collection was the product of a particularly detailed and thought out aesthetic, epitomising what the designers mused to be "fragments, reflection, floating."</span></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="color: #666666; font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><span style="line-height: 15px;">Stepping into Edeline Lee's world for SS15 was like stepping into a paintbox, albeit a very grown-up one, with a delicately pretty concoction of colours. Every season, Edeline comes up with something completely different &amp; refreshingly original, &amp; this season was no disappointment. Inspired by the process of restoring her own Victorian house in East London, the designer brought together the 3-pronged relationship between art, interiors &amp; fashion, &amp; assimilated her colour palette,&nbsp;architectural structure, &amp; the cut of the dress into a collection of very feminine, empowering pieces. Each look worked around a basic tone, adding a triangle of white here, a stripe there. The set was beautiful, with models captured in their own boxes, their own worlds, the viewer voyeuristically peering into a living room, or a&nbsp;kitchen. Within each room played a digital loop of the collection's video campaign on a&nbsp;small television set, essentially a replica of the presentation itself, as models smaller &amp; smaller explored sets teenier and tinier. The touches of magical realism extended to a ceiling&nbsp;suffocating with pink roses, a prettiness bursting to escape. On one of the finest days of the year so far, we paid a visit to this&nbsp;institution on Saint John Street, nestled in amongst offices &amp; tower blocks, its front &amp; side walls opened up to allow tables &amp; patrons to&nbsp;spill out onto the&nbsp;pavement.&nbsp;</span></span></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <span style="color: #666666; font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><span style="line-height: 15px;"><br /></span></span></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <span style="color: #666666; font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><span style="line-height: 15px;">We arrived 10 minutes before the end of happy hour,&nbsp;immediately encouraging us to make a snap decision on cocktails, deciding upon a Strawberry Passion (Zubrowka&nbsp;vodka, passion fruit, strawberries &amp; black pepper) and a Berry Swizzle (Prosecco, Chambord, raspberry&nbsp;vodka, &amp; strawberry puree). The latter seemed a bit tangy for my tastes, but the former was deliciously light &amp; frothy, served in a&nbsp;martini glass &amp; garnished with a fresh strawberry. For my starter I chose one of the specials, a soft-boiled black gulls egg served with herbed mayonnaise, crushed black pepper, &amp; flavoured salt. The egg was marvellously runny &amp; red-yolked, although it would have been all the more perfect served with some buttered granary soldiers! The Well seems to&nbsp;specialise in produce from the sea, so I chose a main of mussels in white wine, cream &amp; garlic sauce, which was nicely complimented with the addition of sliced fennel, celery &amp; onion. Hand-cut chips were an&nbsp;obvious&nbsp;accompaniment, &amp; were just the right amount of crispy salty goodness. Surprisingly light, with a thick, syrupy sauce, a great endnote to the meal.&nbsp;Throughout the meal we enjoyed one of the nicest Roses I've had in quite a while, a Cotes de Provence&nbsp;</span><i style="line-height: 15px;">Melopee de Gavoty</i><span style="line-height: 15px;">, of the lightest pink &amp; most delicate flavour. Dessert was another matter, as unable to decide upon a dessert wine, our waitress advised us of an off-menu sherry, a&nbsp;lovely velvety, dark, sweet wine that was so fabulous, I forgot to read the label &amp; remember the name! I did, however, hastily order a 2nd glass even after dessert was over - only&nbsp;slightly less&nbsp;enthusiastic than my companion who suggested ordering a bottle. Too much for a thursday night? Claire was great at&nbsp;figuring out what sort of look we wanted to go for, &amp; as soon as she referenced Alexa Chung, I knew I was sold! After opting for the "midi" length, I then decided to get some Chung-esque light layers feathered in at an angle. These were so subtle, but added just the right amount of bounce and&nbsp;movement. As for the fringe, this was also slightly layered, as Claire separated the top layers &amp; then feathered into those below, delicately angling at the sides &amp; leaving a fringe which isn't too top-heavy at the sides, and balances out at the centre. Claire suggested that instead of washing my hair twice a week, I add in another wash, but with a milder&nbsp;</span></span></span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><span style="line-height: 15px;">shampoo. We used a Kerastase exfoliating shampoo which was great at invigorating my dry scalp. Another tip was to shampoo twice, once to rid the hair of the dust &amp; pollution of London life, &amp; then another to really cleanse the hair &amp; wash it clean. I opted for some volume &amp; movement, not too funky, &amp; fairly&nbsp;maintainable. After a light application of mousse which would encourage the hair to plump up, we&nbsp;began blowdrying my hair with a large curling&nbsp;brush, twisting &amp; pinning sections as we went - Claire explained that after being heated, the time in which the hair begins to cool down again is when it's most vulnerable to styling. Pinning my hair in loose knots meant that at the end of the process, I would leave with natural, bouncy waves. (Another way to aid this is with the use of velcro rollers, which she also recommended). Once the hair was dry, we unpinned each section &amp; then loosely shook out the curls, &amp; ended&nbsp;with a quick spritz of Headrush by Tigi.</span></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="color: #666666;
