Registration for Glastonbury Festival 2011 is now open!

You must be registered with the festival in order to buy tickets for the festival.

It is expected that both full price tickets and deposit tickets will go on sale on Sunday 3rd October 2010 and price is likely to be about £190 + Booking Fees + Postage

Festival Organiser, Michael Eavis, says that the headliners for the 2011 Glastonbury Festival have been booked!

He said there were “three really good headliners” in place, but added that he was “not telling you who” yet.

He was also keeping quiet about if U2 would make it to the festival next year.

This is something that is on my heart as 3 of my friends were robbed during Thursday night, and forcing one of them to go home, so although I’m pleased with the following story, I’m not happy that it’s happened to my friends

The number of reported crimes at Glastonbury Festival are down compared to the 2009 Festival, police statistics have revealed.
Statistics released on Sunday June 27th show that there have been 343 reported crimes at the event, compared to 363 by that point last year.
There have been 112 arrests so far, compared to 138 last year.

Glastonbury Festival 201 has started to glorious sunshine, with a very limited chance of rain expected over the weekend.

The gates opened at 8am with long, but fast moving queues. This did not last long, with reports of 4 hour waits to get through the doors coming in at 11.30.
Many people were trying to get in for the England match and a reported 120,000 people on site by 11pm Wednesday night.

The Queen’s Head stage kicked off the main program on Thursday and was opened by HRH Prince Charles (yes, really!), who visited the festival as president of Wateraid.

Secret gigs already have started to filter through, with Biffy Clyro putting an image on their website which, when worked out, read “Park Stage, Sat, 6.30″.
Radiohead’s Thom York is also reported as playing today (Friday), but no info on stage or time has been revealed.

Keane are to play an acoustic set at Glastonbury 2010

The band will perform an acoustic set at 4.35pm on Sunday 27th on the Avalon Stage

They were not originally due to perform at this year’s Glastonbury, as they have their own forest shows in Yorkshire and Staffordshire on the Friday and Saturday night of the Festival. But the band are huge Glastonbury fans and really wanted to come along and help celebrate the festival’s 40th Anniversary.

“We’ve been going to Glastonbury as punters for years now” says Keane frontman Tom Chaplin. “I love it there – we all do. The atmosphere simply cannot be beaten and it’s the best place to stumble upon all sorts of amazing acts.

“The Festival clashes with our UK Forest Tour this year but we really wanted to get involved with their 40th anniversary celebrations so, at the last minute, we’ve decided to play an acoustic set on the Avalon Stage on Sunday afternoon. We’ll be arriving during the early hours of Sunday morning, so will get to enjoy the last day of the Festival too.”

The line ups for the Shangri La Stages and The BBC Introducing stage for Glastonbury Festival 2010 have been announced.
