I didn't really listen to this album at all when I first discovered it a couple of years back (I hadn't realised that Justin Currie had produced some solo music), but last year I decided on a whim to play it via

2 Years of Songs: No 11 - "Only Love Can Hurt Like This"

"Only Love Can Hurt Like This"

There was a time that this song meant something else to me, now its meaning has changed a little. It seemed that I would hear "Only Love Can Hurt Like This" every single time I stepped into the car to travel to Chippenham. I mean every time. I absolutely adore this song. From one of my all time favourite bands comes this amazing b-side (to the single "Just Before You Leave"). I'd never even heard of the song before 18 months ago. But when I did, I quickly fell under its spell.

Never Been Better, Olly Murs

Don't mistake me for a fan of Olly Murs - I'm not. But I do like this song. A lot. I love its energy, its tone and its sentiment. On journeys to Chippenham and back, last year, this always made me smile and feel damn good. Despite, lyrically, the song being about a break-up, there's an optimism, too, and the constant upbeat, brings the song... up.
