Mini-sessions are 20 minute sessions and include a an online gallery of 10-12 images for purchasing. They’re a great way to get your holiday card photos done or just fit in a quick session if you haven’t otherwise been able to or if a full session doesn’t quite fit into your budget this year. I’m offering an awesome Digital Deluxe package this year which includes your choice of 5 digital files from your gallery – you’re free to use these to make your own prints, Christmas cards, blog posts, email newsletters, etc.

I’m also offering an entirely new batch of custom-designed holiday cards this year for those of you who want something personalized and unique but don’t want to do it yourselves.

*Session fee includes up to four family members. $25/ea for additional family members.

When I stepped in the door to Evan’s house, he smiled and he kept smiling throughout the whole session. What a happy little guy! It’s not hard to see why either, he’s obviously quite adored. :)

He was also just discovering his tongue and the joys of sticking it out.

2. The wife of a friend of mine (and mother to two adorably cute boys who I’ve photographed) just started a new blog called Mommyapolis. She’s sharing fun recipes and neat craft project ideas and I think it’ll be neat to watch her blog grow.

3. The North Star Roller Girls’ Season Opener is next Saturday, October 24th! If you’ve never seen a bout, now’s the time. If you just saw Whip It and want to see what derby is really like, now’s the time. The doors open at 6:30, bout starts at 7:30pm. If you sit track-side, and you should (unless you’re under 18, in which case, you can’t – but don’t worry, plenty of families bring kids and sit in general admission. Kids under 10 are free.), tickets are $12 in advance, $14 at the door. I’m excited to be going and hope to recruit some new fans this year!

And, y’know, some photos…

(Upon being asked who has the stinkiest feet.)

My first day, working with the youngest infants, I mostly made lots of goofy, really wide-mouthed faces. My face felt like a stretchy rubberband clown by the end of the day. When I got to the older kids, I developed a pretty set spiel we went through about how many brothers, sisters, cats, dogs, etc., they had. Being asked about cats or dogs made nearly everyone who had one smile (even though many of them couldn’t remember their pet’s name) but being asked about brothers or sisters…notsomuch.

Then I asked them if they had purple eyes.

Looking through the photos for each kid, I can tell on exactly which photo I asked them that question. They are either laughing at the crazy lady or looking very quizzically at the crazy lady. It was great. :) I also asked them if they had hamburgers for breakfast. Parents, either lots of your kids are good jokesters or way too many of you are feeding them hamburgers for breakfast. With ketchup.

The moms of these cuties are the owners of Primrose School of West Plymouth, a preschool for infants through Pre-K that also provides before and after school care for children ages 5-12. And just like family sessions, they agreed that school portraits don’t necessarily have to be done studio-style either so I had the awesome opportunity to spend three days at the school, doing school photos Glimpses of Soul style. It was a whirlwind of photos and cute faces and new friends – I’m not even sure how many kids I ended up photographing exactly, somewhere around 180. I’m working like crazy now to get them edited and prepared for the parents and I’m so excited for them to see them! I wanted to stick up a few on the blog for now.

And a photo my trusty assistant grabbed while I was busy working, with the help of my new friends in the Infant II room. :)
