the best worst movie ever? rocky horror, definitely. these two, not so much

so i sat through "the room" & i dont remember much about the plot. something to do with tommy wiseau being a rich ~~vampire~~ man who could barely speak english & his fat girlfriend is cheating on him. tommy was the producer/writer/etc & it shows. i find that most "bad" movies are just ones written by people who dont know english(troll 2 was written by italians).

troll 2 was not the sequel to troll #1 & has no trolls in it. got it? it starts off with a kid who dreams that his grandpa is still alive. his family goes on a vacation to the vegetarian town of nilbog. the kid literally pisses on thier lunch & then this magical scene happens

"shake,rattle, & rock" is set in the 1950s, a low budget "hairspray" ripoff with howie mandel as corny collins(barf). renee zellweger is almost unrecognizable due to having her original face.

john doe was a greaser(was he in every fifties set movie?),ruth brown(motormouth maybelle) is in it as well,riki rachtman plays eddie cochran.

this movie is such a mess, totally bad but not in a john waters so bad it's good kind of way.i expect someone to walk by in hammer pants or a beeper at any moment.in one scene, you can even see a 1990s bus. :-(

many millions of years ago i did a sitcom with this actress. i couldnt remember where i'd seen her before, she had a horribly fake italian accent & it really made me sad.so many actresses would kill for this job. actresses with authentic italian accents, yet she was chosen because she knew the casting director. i knew that she'd been working since the 1980s & the bad accent/unfunny script was killing me(the unfunny, pun laden sitcom was on tv for many years). just today i figured out who she was, the bitchy girlfriend from "mannequin"(y'know she worked at illustra). anyhoo

so i am one of those people who have never seen "reality bites". not really my generation, too young at the time plus i hate ethan hawke(still to this day). big fan of winona ryder & decided to spend my sunday watching it.

#1 first impression: janeane garafalo has the most amazing little 1970s dolly dresses plus the bettie page bangs dont hurt. those platform shoes make my heart hurt. so cute!

2nd impression:lots of scenes shot in downtown los angeles but it's supposed to be set in houston. none of the characters have southern or texas accents at all. not even trying.

the plot is lame but there are a lot of killer 1970s songs & random early 1990s cameos like dave pirner & karen duffy.

pretty cute movie starring sylvester stallone & dolly parton.it was a major failure at the box office back in the day but it actually isnt that bad. dolly is a walking barbie doll(check out the daisy earrings below) & the costumes are tacky yet fab. dolly tries to teach sly how to be country & eventually they go to a redneck bar to do the dirty dozens(who knew rednecks invented "ya mamma" jokes?).
