Hello Dear Readers,

its been fun, but I've moved on to another blog:

not much will change, just a little bit more of my own voice

Summer+2013

2013-04-30T18:39:00.002-05:00

The Summer Issue of Armour Magazine came out last week! Check it out:

Summer 2013

I think it's my favorite yet. So crazy to think that it's my last one... but here's to bigger and better things post-graduation...right?

Travel + Light

2013-04-17T15:57:00.001-05:00

I Am Packed is a website showcasing the many (or surprisingly few) necessities needed for a vacation. I don't think anyone actually likes packing for trips, but this site makes me want to pack a suitcase for the pure sake of a good picture (also the various locations are making me wanderlust-y).

Advanced + Style

2013-04-11T23:00:00.001-05:00

As graduation looms, I am beginning to feel the pangs of fear of againg.

So I read this blog to make me feel young, and realize that "old" is a state of mind. And as my friend Jacob recently quoted, "Aging only sucks if you're not awesome."

So stay awesome, my friends.

ADVANCED STYLE.

Glitter + Desserts

2013-04-08T15:19:00.001-05:00

I have decided that when (if) I get married, my wedding dessert spread will look like this:

(please note the superfluous yet necessary jars of glitter)

and my guests will feast themselves on mountains of sparkly macarons:

and all shall rejoice.

Gypsy + Biker

2013-04-01T19:24:00.001-05:00

Currently lusting after this Free People Gypsy Vest. How gorgeous is the ruffled gold back? And call me vain, but I'm a sucker for anything with miniature mirrors sewn in.

Perfect for exotic summer travels. Anyone else hear Morocco calling their name?

Bicycle + Taxidermy

2013-04-01T19:17:00.001-05:00

Have an old bike and a blank wall? Averse to dismembered animal heads?

Let me introduce you to your next DIY project: Bicycle Taxidermy inspired by Regan Appleton.

Not one for woodworking? Buy your own mount from Appleton here.

Big + Pixel

2013-03-01T18:54:00.000-06:00

Kind of sort of in love with this laptop case from Big Big Pixel.

SPRING + ISSUE

2013-02-28T10:05:00.002-06:00

Check out Armour's Spring Issue!

Fall + RTW

2013-02-27T09:43:00.000-06:00

This just might be one of my favorite looks from all of NY's Fall 2013 Ready-to-Wear Collections. And, surprisingly, it's from Kate Spade.

But I guess my attraction to it is not so surprising, given this piece from my own Fall 2012 Senior Collection:

What can I say? I'm all about the trend forecasting.

American + English

2013-02-26T10:42:00.000-06:00

Whenever I hear people speaking in a different language, I often think about how beautiful it sounds (French, Spanish, Italian) or how interesting and complicated (Chinese, Thai, Arabic). Which then leads me to think about how ugly and flat I find English. Especially American English. So I've always wonderdered, how does English sound to non-Engish speakers?

Well, here's a short video called Skewl that tries to show just that. I'd say it seems pretty accurate. Sadly, it only confirms my thoughts on the language.

2013-02-22T11:35:00.001-06:00

A little Friday afternoon inspiration.

Valentine + Garland

2013-02-11T13:38:00.000-06:00

Away from loved ones this Valentine's day? Why not send them some love in the mail! Oh Happy Day! has a simple tutorial for these adorable Mailable Valentine Garlands. Just cut up some letters, string them, and post!

P.S. A new year's resolution I just decided on is doing more of my own DIY's on weekends. There's a whole world of arts and crafts projects out there and I need to get my hands dirty more often.

A little glitter and glue does that heart good.

xoxo

Gold + Cardigan

2013-02-10T13:30:00.001-06:00

Currently craving this Bellevue Paillette Cardigan from Anthropologie.

Mardi + Gras

2013-02-10T13:01:00.001-06:00

Fun Fact: St. Louis has the second biggest Mardi Gras celebrations in the world. WOO! So to accompany such an event, I decided to try out my new Mily Makeup Simply Liners eyeliner stickers, both the winged purple liner and the more eccentric ones, paired with a jeweled bindi sticker and some gold leaf.

I was worried they would feel stiff and uncomfortable but surprisingly once they were on I couldn't feel a thing! I didn't have to worry about smudging or rubbing off, and at the end of the day I peeled them off and set them aside for another day. I would highly recommend them- I received many a compliment from my fellow Mardi-Gras-ers.

Given to me by my wonderful mother.

Lissie + Fleetwood

2013-02-07T10:17:00.002-06:00

Happy Thursday!

Currently playing this Lissie cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way" on repeat.

LAZER + CATZ

2013-01-29T22:37:00.001-06:00

Lip + Service

2013-01-29T21:42:00.000-06:00

Violent Lips create temporary lip tattoos that last for up to 8 hours.

one is pure gold glitter.

wowza.

I'd be intrigued to see someone actually wearing one of these...

They also come in an array of different designs. this ones kinda awesome.

Charles + Olive

2013-01-27T22:18:00.000-06:00

UK-based Charles Olive produces bow ties that are fabulously bold in both print and pattern. Such an unexpected pop of color in a much under-used and under-appreciated area of menswear.

How dapper are they paired with a beard? Their stylist seemed to think so as well.

I always require my dates to wear bow ties. Preferably gold ones.

(example A)

(P.S.This is a picture of my friend Richard and I. Its his birthday today! woo!)

Spotted on Wolf Eyebrows.

Moon + Pops

2013-01-27T19:20:00.000-06:00

Nova + Hoop

2013-01-24T19:44:00.001-06:00

Lusting after these Nova Hoop Earrings from Cisthene.

Block + Shop

2013-01-22T23:12:00.000-06:00

Stumbled upon Block Shop and instantly fell in love with not only their beautiful block prints but also the fascinating process behind the textiles. Then I saw that, because they are such a hot topic at the moment, everything is sold out. womp womp.

But aren't these scarves exquisite?

Spotted at Miss Moss.

The + Napsack

2013-01-21T14:56:00.003-06:00

So what exactly was Hannah wearing in last night's episode of GIRLS?

They just kinda glossed over the whole bizarre phenomenon with not so much as a dry remark, leaving audiences worldwide confused and upset.

introducing:

The Napsack, by Poler.

According to their website, "It’s not too hot for inside and is awesome for wearing around the house in the winter."

Yes well it would appear that Hannah would seem to think so as well.

Could this be the next snuggie? Wildly more functional and utilitarian, it's waterproof feature might even convince people to leave the house.

ha ha

and good news, it even comes in hipster child sizes:

Also guess where this company is based. go figure.

Color + Print

2013-01-17T15:50:00.000-06:00

An informative and fascinating look into the team that produces some of the best color and print around: Free People

(my favorite thing in my closet ever that I wear everyday is this jacket)

Go + Slow

2013-01-16T09:59:00.001-06:00

Familiar with Haim yet?

Odds are, you will be soon. This trio of sisters from LA is fast on the rise, and for good reason.

Their smooth beats and laid-back cool are incredibly seductive. I listened to them on every train, plane and bus ride obsessbvely while backpacking the UK last summer. Thats a lot of playing time.

Three of my faves:

Don't Save Me (newest release)

Forever (my first love)

Go Slow
