The cast of the new film "Nine" made their way to London's Odeon Leicester Square for their premier.

The musical, inspired by Federico Fellini’s classic film 8 1/2, stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Sophia Loren, Marion Cotillard and Stacey Ferguson aka Fergie.

My favorite looks of the night were Penelope who sparkled in an icy metallic Ralph Lauren beaded gown and Kate who looked stunning in white Versace.

Nine comes out in the States on Christmas Day. As a lover of the movie-musicals Moulin Rouge & Chicago, I'm hoping this film will be another smashing success. Check out the trailers below- subscribers can view them here and here.

Looks like Chelsea Clinton will be taking the plunge next summer with her longtime beau Marc Mezvinsky. We've heard that they were married before- rumor had it that they had secretly eloped in Mexico but that wasn't the case. This engagement, however, is being considered the real deal.

According to People magazine, the couple sent out an e-mail to friends and family on Friday, saying: "We're sorry for the mass email but we wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Thanksgiving! We also wanted to share that we are engaged! We didn't get married this past summer despite the stories to the contrary, but we are looking toward next summer and hope you all will be there to celebrate with us. Happy Holidays! Chelsea & Marc."

As a big fan of the Clintons I'm looking forward to reading all about the planning details as they unfold.

Have I told you all how much I LOVE the holidays? The crisp autumn air, the golden hues of leaves that have changed colors, the beautiful decorations that adorn homes & churches, and of course the fall & winter fashion that gets to make an appearance. What I love most about this time of year are the many holiday parties & get-together's that give me a chance to be surrounded by family and friends who I love and who love me. Tis the season for celebrations of every kind so if you're planning to host one of your own consider the following...

The Date
*Between Christmas, Hannukah and Kwanzaa there are multiple days in December that your guests may typically reserve for their loved ones, church or temple so be mindful of the date you select if you want all of your invited guests to show up.

The Cost
*You will generally pay premium pricing for holiday affairs that are catered on the weekend. There are only 4 weekends in the month of December which means your caterer may have multiple social & corporate clients all vying for the same date. If possible, host your shindig during the week to not only save on the cost of food but on the alcohol bill as well since most of your guests won't drink as heavily mid-week as they'll have to get up the next morning for work.

The Decor
*While red & green are always a safe choice, you can create beautiful designs with a rich palette of gold, silver & ivory, a sparkling palette of silver, blue & white, or opt for the bold & classic combination of black & white.

*Affordable DIY centerpieces can include glitter-dipped pinecones, crystal manzanita trees and hurricane vases filled with cranberries and topped with a tea light.

The Rest
*Imagining a winter holiday without holiday lights is pretty hard to do. If you won't be using traditional holiday lights for your party, keep other lighting options in mind. Multiple candles & votives can give your home a warm winter glow while amber gels & pin spotting can help create that same ambiance for larger affairs.
*Hot cocoa with marshmallows and chocolate chip cookies are holiday favorites that are a hit with both young & old. If you aren't planning on serving either of these treats, consider using these scents to welcome your guests into your home, office or even cocktail hour. For intimate affairs a nice scented candle will do the trick, larger parties may require a professional service such as Scent Events.

Whether your holiday party is large or small, remember to keep the comfort of your guests {and your wallet} in mind and you'll be off to a great start.

A Very Vintage Halloween Bash

Earlier this week I got all dressed up and went to a fun & fabulous networking bash at Franklin Canyon Park. Since I wasn't sure how many people would actually show up in costume I was a little nervous that there might only be a handful of us in the Halloween spirit but boy was I wrong! Almost everyone who came out had full-on costumes ranging from sexy & glam to scary & ghoulish and everything in between. I had a great time enjoying the vintage atmosphere and meeting some really cool people who work in the local wedding & event scene.

What are your most popular products?
The clear winner of my products is the 5 row rhinestone cake trim – it’s absolutely stunning, sooo sparkly, and so unique. The monogram crystal cake topper is what brides have traditionally used to bling-out their wedding cakes, but this rhinestone trim definitely takes those couture cakes to a new level! {I have to agree- it is stunning!}

How long have you been in the wedding/event planning industry & how did you fall into it?
I started in 2006, when I was planning my own wedding. I purchased hundreds upon hundreds of Swarovski crystals in order to DIY all of my wedding accessories: my cake topper, veil, ring pillow, flower girl baskets, etc. I loved it so much that I decided to make a business out of it!

What’s your favorite wedding day moment?
Seeing the bride walk down the aisle. Even if I hardly know the girl, I’ll break down into tears. My husband and I were at a wedding of one of his former work acquaintances. I had only met the bride 2 times prior to her wedding. As she was walking down the aisle, I was just a sobbing mess! {I sometimes have that problem too.}

What do you love most about your job?
I love being a part of one of the biggest days of my customers’ lives. It’s an honor to “be there” on such a beautiful and important day. Even as a teenager, I used to love being “behind the scenes” on wedding days to help the bride out. My business allows me to do what I’ve always loved, while giving me the flexibility to be my own boss – it’s a perfect marriage! (no pun intended!)

Why do you consider yourself fun, fabulous, fashionable and fierce?
I don’t believe being "fun, fabulous, fashionable, and fierce" necessarily means following all the current trends. I think it means seeing a new trend right at the onset of it, or having the courage to start a new trend on your own. {Hear, hear!} My 5 rhinestone cake trim is a prime example of what I mean: the trim is not something I found on every other website. It was something I envisioned and wanted in my product line. Even though it was difficult, I eventually found the manufacturer, and I am currently one of the only wedding vendors selling it!

What's your favorite red carpet event?
I love watching the Oscars. I love the gowns, the hair, the jewels! I don’t actually enjoy the show as much as I enjoy the red carpet! The red carpet is much less scripted than the show, so along with the fashion, you get personality! {Oscars= Red Carpet Pinnacle!}

Who is your favorite style icon whom you feel epitomizes glamour?
My favorite style icon is Katie Holmes. If you asked me a few years ago, I probably wouldn’t have even thought of her. Over the last few years, however, she has really blossomed into a woman of grace and glamour. I love the way she carries herself as a fashion icon, a wife, and of course, a mom. She has a natural beauty that radiates and that beauty is always enhanced by her fashion choices - always feminine and fun. As a wife and mom, it is clear that her husband and her beautiful little girl are her world. The love she has for Tom and Suri seem to put that extra sparkle in her eye and extra pep in her step!

Which celebrity would be most likely to purchase your products & why?
I would love for Michelle Obama to purchase any of my products. For one: I’m a neighbor! My business is based about 5 minutes from the White House. Also, I would be honored to have caught her eye because she is somebody I truly consider a fashion icon. I realize she’s already a married woman and won’t be walking down the aisle, however my products are very versatile. My silk couture clutches would look stunning with some of Mrs. Obama’s evening gowns. My rhinestone buckles would look lovely as napkin ties for a formal White House dinner. My Swarovski brooches would compliment so many of her polished looks!

What’s one of your tried & true tips that brides can use to Go Glam?
Be natural, and be yourself!! Don’t lose the essence of who you are and who your man fell in love with! {Amen!} Let your personality shine on your wedding day. The most glamorous women are the ones who aren't afraid to let their visions of glamour shine, even if those visions aren't the "status quo" of what a woman should act or dress like. If your style is vintage - don't be afraid to hit up those vintage used consignment shops. If you would rather wear feathers on your head instead of a veil – wear those feathers with pride! If you prefer a knee-length wedding gown over a long wedding gown – show off those legs! Make your fashion choices based on who YOU are, and not what others want you to be! {Couldn't have said it better myself.}

*Get Gone*

What wedding trend{s} would you love to do away with?
The matching bridesmaid dresses… (although, admittedly and unfortunately, I’m guilty of it with my bridesmaids). {Sadly so am I.} No two bodies are the same, and some bridesmaids might have more conservative taste than others. I love the bridal shops or boutiques that allow bridesmaids to pick the style (in the same color) which suits their body best. Bridesmaids who get to pick their own dresses are much more comfortable over the course of the day and evening.

What wedding etiquette rule{s} do you think can or should be broken?
I think the “white/ivory gown” rule should be thrown out the window. Traditionally, the rule says that brides who are marrying for the first time should wear white, while brides who are on their 2nd or 3rd marriage should wear ivory. I personally think that rule is nonsense. Ivory gowns for first marriages are just as beautiful and elegant as white gowns.

What's your favorite fashion/entertainment magazine?
To be totally honest, I think magazines are very limited in terms of photos and articles. Magazines are so overloaded with full size advertisements that they have lost a lot of substance. I scratch my fashion/entertainment itch by combing through blogs. Blogs are very much alive, are updated minute by minute, are full of so many great photos and ideas, and frankly, blogs are less of an inundation of advertisements. No two blogs are alike, which allows for a wealth of great fashion and entertainment trends!

Favorite fashion/entertainment blog?
Lately, I’ve been checking out Perez Hilton’s new fashion blog: CoCoPerez – I love the mix of Hollywood stars and glamour bundled up into one pink blog!

Why do you recommend brides read the Glitz, Glam & Gossip! Blog?
Glitz, Glam, and Gossip! has all the right elements of what a great blog should have! Personally, one of my favorite elements of the blog is all the photographs. I love how the photos alone serve as such a fun storyboard. You have such a great eye for Hollywood glam, and you incorporate it so well into your blog using your keen eye and knack for writing! Launch Party + Other Updates

Now that its been about 3 months since we've been out here in LA, my family and I are beginning to settle in and starting to become familiar with our surroundings. The "Greater LA Area" as it's often called is truly expansive and filled with so many beautiful nooks & crannies that I've yet to explore. I've just begun to start meeting other vendors & touring venues and am already so excited to see the many possibilities & options that a Southern California wedding holds. Truth be told, when we were planning our own wedding SoCal was our first choice. We contacted lots of venues {all of which were either on or near the beach} and even flew out to tour some in person but after much thought we decided to host it in Houston in order to keep a happy medium. After all, we'd met there so that's where most of our friends lived, and since most of my family live in either California or Las Vegas and all of his family lives in Tennessee we chose Houston to be "fair"- yes there are politics when it comes to wedding planning! :-)

Anyhow, here are a few recent Glitz & Glamour updates I'm very excited to share...

Recently joined the Greater LA Chapter of ABC and am looking forward to meeting some of the other fabulous planners in this area
Working on an amazing partnership with a local venue that will be the perfect place to host a Glitz & Glamour themed wedding or special event- can't wait to give you all the details!
Planning our official LA Launch Party- YAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!! My family & friends know I rarely need a reason to host a party so launching my business out here in LA is definitely cause for celebration and I CAN'T WAIT. This will be held in January and will be open to brides & vendors alike so stay tuned for more details.

Those are all the updates for now. As you can see, I'm busy working behind the scenes to get us up and going for 2010. Looking forward to sharing each step of the way.

Sparkle Meets Science Photo Shoot

I'm LOVING this photoshoot that celebrity fashion stylist Lindsay Albanese put together in anticipation of all the Glitz & Glam that's sure to be seen in many fall collections. With THE BLONDS as her designers & shoes by the always-fierce Ruthie Davis, this shoot could easily be called "Sparkle Meets Science"...

I imagine these would be taken on the film set of a thriller where these models play lab subjects who've had enough of all the experiments & plan to revolt while the audience constantly worries about whether or not their outfits will catch on fire...hey, it could happen. :-)

With a tagline like that how could I not be intrigued? New York based Haute Hippie {Love the name!} is the new kid on the designer block and yet they're quickly catching the attention of celebrities & magazine editors alike and I can see why. Their designs are bold, sexy and definitely glamorous~ perfect for a cocktail party, rehearsal dinner, or just a night out with the girls.

Tyra Banks wears their fringe skirt on a recent episode of the hit show Gossip Girl where she channels glam icon Josephine Baker.
