Of course I chose the Thai curry. I know I can eat Thai food everyday after landing Thailand, but moreover I want to eat Thai food :)
For TG flight I think this is one of the best choices.

Because the economy sheet also has the sheet TV. For a long time TG has not provided such item for economy passengers. But of course it might be a good news for TG lovers :)

There are two blogs, an English blog and a Japanese blog, in this site. It decided to update the Japanese one with MovableType and the English one with WordPress.

I installed WordPress to a subdirectory of the server, However I wanted WordPress to power root ( http://www.yuhasan.com/ ) but I didn't want all of the WordPress files cluttering up root directory.

WordPress already gives us the solution for this request. It is described in http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

I tried this method and through this I learned the behavior of .htaccess. Especially the mod_rewite function is cool. I like this function :-)

In this site, WordPress automatically added the following sentences into the existing .htaccess file. These sentenses are the mystic words of magic.

# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

# END WordPress

From the window of a train of Thai

I updated the blog system from MovableType 3 to MovableType 4.
On this occation, I'd like to try broadcasting movies.

This time let me inroduce the movie taken by myself when I was on a train in Thailand.

Recently there are many free services in internet such as broadcasting movies.

Unfortunately, the sound contained in this movie is only noise of wind. So the default setting is sound-off.
In Thailand they enjoy water and souse water gustily over the others. In some places they move up the water festival. That's quite exciting.

This water festival is held out side the house. There is no possibility to be hit inside the house, however when going out to the street, everyone faces danger from the direct hit of water. Moreover sometimes the water is not clean, is doutful origin. So I think it is safe that the travellers from abroad do not join this festival.

Unfortunately I have no opportunity to join this water festival because during this period it is difficult to have a vacation for me every year. However in Japan there are some water festival for Thai people living in Japan.

In Tokyo area, almost every year some volunteers hold a water festival, but in these few years they couldn't hold the festival. Extra information, there is a water festival in Wat Pak Nam, in Narita city.

Let me introduce the pictures that were taken at the water festival in Tokyo 1998. Everyone include falang(white people) enjoyed the water festival.
It is a statue of the elephant that has three heads.

At first I could not understand what this is. However around this statue there were the praying place and souvenir shops, so I thought it might be a valuable place. And I also prayed here.

Well, recently after having examined about it I found the detail of this statue. It was a museum of individual management!!!

I don't know why many people pray here. However I also have prayed here once :-) So I cannot complain to them (^^;

Anyway, please see here when getting tired of sightseeing in the center part in Bangkok.
To learn where the place is, please refer to the below picture shown by Google Maps.

I don't remember why I decided to visit Vietnam as my first trip to Asia. However I believe that was my destiny :-)

Speaking of Vietnam, the Vietnam food and AOZAI are famous. However, I will carry out this topics later. This time I write about my surprise when I visited Vietnam for the first time.

In Vietnam, people tget up so early. Therefore, I also need to get up early and act. However, if careless, I had a dangerous situation, going into sleep again. So I switched on TV to watch something. The program I watched was absolutely fantastic one.

When I watched this program, I was not sure how shoud I do. But after a while I found it was my important mission to record this situation. So I took photos with Canon EOS5 :-)

Even so, I was surprised that aerobics was already introduced into Vietnam. Moreover, it was wonderful that a Japanese medicine company was the sponsor of the program. I'm not sure whether I should admire vigor of Japan or I should be impressed by the avarice of Vietnam. But I remember well that I kept watching the program with care about the start time of the sightseeing tour I would join.

James Bond Island

I have been to Phuket once. However, since prices are high compared with Bangkok, I was surprised. Since Phuket is a tourist resort, it may be unavoidable one that prices are high.

Then, I decided to rent a car and to see the surroundings of Phuket.

Since turning around the surroundings of this island had finished immediately, I decided to go to a famous place, James Bond island next. Up to the Bangor bay with this island, I could reach there shortly by car.

Since there were many guidance signboards for sightseeing when I reached near the Bangor bay, I was able to arrive to near a ship arrival place, without wavering. And price negotiation was carried out with the captain of a ship who is waiting for the visitor.

I forgot the price because this visit was about five years ago. However the price was a suitable amount of money, I guess.

Although the weather was a bit cloudy, I enjoyed the scene of the sea. After a while, suddenly a misterious marine city was appeared. Moreover, the ship has anchored to this city without request.

After all, this was a place with the souvenir shop and restaurant for tourists. Of course, the reason why the captain arrived here was to get commission.

Since I was hungry, I took a meal here. The ship went to the James Bond island straight after that.

The island can be seen gradually. The ship was reached the right-hand side pier after this.

Since the sea with this island was a shoal, I felt it was possible to walk to the island at low tide. Even so, it is an interesting island.

Wat Xieng Khuan

A few years after the passport crisis, I visited Laos again with no regret. However there is nothing to do particular. So I took a bus for Wat Xieng Khuan(Buddha Park), about thirty minutes travel. The bus fare was 1000KIP for one way. In Wat Xieng Khuan, there were many interesting Buddha statues. I found that at the bottom of each statue there were several letters of the alphabet. The letters were not graffiti, they might be carved when the statue was made. So the statues are not old ones, like made recently. Of course there is no problem because the statues were interesting...

There were bulletin boards of the names of the benefactors. I am surprised that there were some names of Japanese. I'd like to know how to donate here. Let me know the detail if someone know it:-)
Before being interested in Asia, I have learnt variously musical instruments of the West.
After starting to visit Asia, I was interested in musical instruments of Asia. At first I searched for the length whistle in Vietnam. Finally I found it but I couldn't get it because the price was quite high.

In Thailand I was not interested in musical instruments so much. However, after I came to be interested in Mo Lam, I was interested in musical instruments again.

It is Kaen. Mo Lam seems not to consist without this.

Well, it doesn't go well easily though I wanted to get Kaen. To begin with, the shop that sold a Kaen could not be found. I asked some Thai people where I could buy a Kaen. Then their answer were like, one of my friend in the country has a Kaen, or my cousin performs Kaen well. It doesn't serve as a reference so much. So it was in pending status for a long time.

After a few years, during staying in Vientine, when I browsed a guidebook I found the article that showed how to buy a Kaen in Vientine. At that moment I recognized it is the chance. However also I knew these informations sometimes contained error in writing. So I tried to find the craft center in half believing. Sure enough some of the detail information were wrong but finally I could reach the craft center. And I dealed with the wife of the master. And I was successful in getting the Kaen for me. (Recently there appeaed a sign in the street, So now it is easy to reach the craft center.)
During moving to Thai from Laos, the custome officer of Laos and the airport bus driver tryed playing this Kaen :-) Both of them said this was a quite good Kaen. So the problem that remains to be solved is how to learn playng the Kaen.
