AT&T will be implementing throttle unlimited data plan starting on 1st of October, to carry out a time-consuming data connection on their clients that are categorized to the top 5% of hefty users –customers that are ungracefully utilizing enormous amount of data in contrast of the consumption of other customers. This measures also enforced by T-Mobile.

In a recent press release by AT&T, the company stated that it is making not so major tweaks to its “unlimited” plan. The company claims that the revision will only affect the top five percent heavy data users.

Starting October 1, smartphone customers with unlimited data plans may experience reduced speeds once their usage in a billing cycle reaches the level that puts them among the top 5 percent of heaviest data users. These customers can still use unlimited data and their speeds will be restored with the start of the next billing cycle. Before you are affected, we will provide multiple notices, including a grace period.

AT&T’s unlimited plans were blown off last year, but existing unlimited subscribers were doubt as grandfathered in. New clients are subject to a data cap, and any data connection usage beyond the cap will be paid at a costly rate — same to a the typical offers of other carrier’s plan.

So if you are a non-heavy user of their data plan who doesn’t link your device torrent services and you don’t watch more than 5 movies a day over iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, Vudu or Amazon =it probably won’t affect your surfing speed.

This data throttling action taken by AT&T is to get rid the dilemma of data congestion and general network issues that have damage its 3G network’s performance since the onset of the Apple’s iPhone.

Last few months, AT&T announced its merger with T-Mobile. The company is still in the process to acquire Deutsche Telekom AG’s T-Mobile USA in a $39 billion mammoth-merger deal, though the United States Senate’s antitrust committee have recently shown doubts about the unification of the two carriers.

Verizon Wireless clients are eagerly craving for the Droid Bionic due to its combined power of dual-core processor and LTE. Sanjay’s revelation of Droid Bionic launch date became a fact following the company’s Q2 financial results press release that unveiled Motorola’s net income of $3.3 billion, that goes up to 28% compared from second quarter 2010 but reports $56 million in net loss in 2nd Quarter.
