The Most Bizarre Gig PLUS Pyjama Income update

Hi everyone!

Last Thursday saw what must be the strangest gig I've ever been asked to do where I went from weightlessness to 4.5g's dressed as a vicar! More about this in a mo... but first just a very quick update on NeoBux (Use this link to join for free and share the excitement as we journey together on this unique adventure).

Some of you have asked for hints and tips on how to run your NeoBux business, so apart from the NeoBux Strategies page on this blog I'm in the process of writing a guide which will be free to all who follow this blog but will be a saleable item to others. This will be based on my own experiences with this unusual business model coupled with advice taken from the forum, questions that I've asked admin, the FAQ's and the Help file. There's oudles of info and it takes time to sift the wheat from the chaff but I can promise you that my strategy will be simple, concise, easy to follow and therefore easier to make money from. So hold on for an announcement in a week or two.

In the meantime as a Standard Member (this is the free entry level) make sure you click your 4 or 5 or so ads every day which takes just a couple of minutes, save your earnings and rent your first 3 referrals. Keep doing the same, reinvesting all for the time being, building your business and eventually your income.

Now... what does weightlessness, 4.5 g's and a group of vicars have in common? I'll show you...

Some weeks ago I registered with a Film Extra company in an attempt to grab another income stream and have some fun to boot. Well last Tuesday I was asked if I could be at Alton Towers for 7:30am on Thursday and was I OK with big rides! Well... I have to say, this gig was made just for me - I love big rides and Alton Towers is the biggest theme park in the UK, so I pulled out all the stops in order to make myself available, which included having to tell Pam I wouldn't be around for our anniversary - but she was fine about it. No probs!

There was a twist to this: It was a promotional photo-shoot for Alton Towers itself to update its website and brochure. They wanted to show that people from all walks of life can enjoy a day out at Alton Towers, so we were to be dressed as vicars!

We were then led to 2 of the biggest rides on the site before the public arrived and therefore no queuing.

The best was Oblivion which I'd been on before - it's the world's first vertical-drop roller coaster and you hurtle at nearly 70 mph into a hole in the ground that's swirling in mist. You're then swept underground and then straight up going from a breathless weightlessness to pulling 4.5g in a matter of seconds. Fantastic! The photographer had problems catching the moment so some of us ended up doing 6 consecutive runs! A great experience and I got paid for it too! Does it get any better? Oh... and I was home for 1pm so it didn't affect our anniversary either! Well in time for our planned meal at our favourite restaurant - The Granary at Weston Park.

Is that weird or what? Oh... and by the way - I'm not really a vicar!

Hi everyone...

I know this isn't for everyone especially those out to make a quick buck or two but while you're doing that why not add this little income generator to your portfolio? Hi everyone,

Just a brief note to let you know what Pam and her girlfriends are up to but first just a very quick word about my last post:-

Had an amazing response to what I call Pyjama Income with many guys and gals following my recommendation by joining for free and I hear some are already pulling in small but daily $$$'s into their accounts which are instantly withdrawable into their PayPal accounts. I've been experimenting with this income-generator for some weeks now and although I found it slow at first I can now see the enormous potential that it offers to create a regular income.

Hello all...

As the new year opens up many of us have had time to stop, reflect and perhaps wonder where our lives are going and what we can do to increase our incomes in the forthcoming economically-challenged year. The first week in January saw a deluge of emails and a number of phone calls coming in from past contacts asking me how I make my money and what advice I can give.

I answered each one individually and then, as similar enquiries continued to trickle in, I thought it might be better to post a short blog article showing people the various income streams that I use to bring in a supportable income each and every month. If this article helps others to increase their monthly incomes then I'll be a very happy bunny! After all, even a couple of hundred extra each month helps most of us doesn't it?

So... here goes:-

NB: Each one is a genuine business bringing me a true monthly income. None of these are things I'm testing out. They are already working for me and some have been for many years. However, I make no apology for starting with a new one as money is already building nicely in my account in its first month.

1) A new lottery company kicked off the New Year with quite a storm using national TV advertising starting in Scotland. I was one of the first affiliates to join thanks to my very good friends in Worcestershire who have been actively helping the company to set up the affiliate side. It's very impressive with a solid business foundation based in Stratford-Upon-Avon, England. (Open to all countries except USA). I've recently been using a FUN way of promoting using FaceBook:- "Who wants to share my 27 million win on the lottery?"

2) This one is something I've been involved with since 2001. It's only available to UK residents but it's one that I worked on just for a few months when I first joined yet it still brings in a regular monthly income. It's been a while hasn't it?

I know, I know - it's ages since I posted here despite the amazing traffic that pops in on this blog on a daily basis!

So what's new? Well... one of the reasons for not reviewing worthwhile traffic-drivers and list-builders for some time is... well... frankly there hasn't been much that's different.

BUT... then along came Sveeva. To be honest I only joined yesterday so this isn't a review as such but if you haven't come across this yet - it's brand-spanking new and very refreshing.

It's a totally different traffic-stimulator that's set to change the normal route.

I'll say no more at this stage but invite you to join for FREE - although there's a great upgrade offer at the moment which you'll see when you click through - it avoids a monthly fee, which I tend to avoid at all costs for many reasons (I guess I'm just very cautious and worry that I won't easily find a way to cancel a regular payment so I tend to avoid 'em! Results Update

Now using a new bench-mark to test list-builders. 'Campaign Manager' is free software available to all Affiliates (including free members) of my primary business.

So I thought I'd test Campaign Manager out to track hits to all the list-builders I use. The landing page I selected was the Affiliate Viral System

My first test proved that Campaign Manager worked extremely well and produced these results showing which list-builders are currently pulling in the most hits from this new bench-mark:-

My Recommendation:- if you're promoting anything at all online and you're not using all of these list-builders you're almost certainly losing sales or sign-ups! New bench-mark plus great blog gadget!

Hi everyone!

Came across a new blog gadget/widget recently which tracks visitors to your site or sites simply, quickly and free! In fact it's the simplest quickest visitor-tracker I've seen.

But first...

The best List-Builders. They work for me so they should work for you too!
As I surf through the extreme hype and confusion that often revolves around list-builder websites I try to run some serious analysis on which ones rock and which ones suck.

In order to do this for the last 18 months or so I've used a data capture page (squeeze page) linking to one of my e-lottery eBooks. Using this I can create an accurate record of the success or otherwise of a particular list-builder making direct comparisons with others.

The opt-in rate over the last 6 months has been on average around 4 per day. I realised I needed to increase this in order to make analysis more accurate.

With this in mind and coupling it with my passion for ViralNetworks (please watch the short movie-clip to see why I'm so excited about VN) I have created a new data capture page using the VN eBook I recently created 'Make It Pay: ViralNetworks'.

I'm happy to report that the opt-in rate has been far higher and as a result I can bring you an up-to-date analysis showing exactly which list-builders are working well and the ones (that I've tested) that aren't! There's a surprise here!

Ignore the largest bar which represents my existing VN downline - all the others are list-builders that I use to promote my VN eBook.

The results have surprised me I have to say because I didn't expect to see Business World List at the top but they only just beat ListJumper by 1!

So if you're promoting anything online and you're not using all of these then I would definitely recommend you open an account for those you're missing. You can join each for free but I have taken the best upgrade in each in order to maximise my online activities.

The spring is about to burst...

Bed-springs, pogo-sticks or watch-mechanisms?

None of those! Here in the UK we're just a few days away from Spring. The air is warmer, the snow has all disappeared and there are tiny signs of life.

Yesterday saw a bright and cheerful sun inviting me to go for a walk, so after doing my ViralNetworks DMO (still my favourite list-builder/business network) I switched off the lap-top packed my rucksack and headed off for Lodge Hill, the fields below and the woods beyond - not forgetting the pub, of course, for a quick pint and bowl of hot pea & ham soup. Refreshing and delicious!

I was pleased to find that after one of the harshest winters for a couple of decades over here in the UK there are signs - little signs - that the winter is closing in and spring is being heralded - March 20 is the official day and I for one - as much as I love winter - can't wait!

Spring is the time of year when housewives traditionally clean their houses from top to bottom. Many Internet Marketers tend to do something similar - I've certainly been clearing debris out old folders, dumping pics no longer needed and generally spring-cleaning the hard-drive.

The winter programme with the Wrekin Forest Volunteers is now coming to a close as we finish off hedge-laying, brash clearing and bridge-building. Yes! We built a fabulous bridge over a stream with accompanying steps - quite impressive I think you'll find - take a look at the latest post on my Wrekin Forest Volunteers Blog You can also find out why Brian went bananas, what I do on Friday nights and what this all has to do with a female River Thames Aerobic group!

And so to work...
One of the other tasks I've been working on is to present you with another list-builder but to be perfectly honest out of all the ones I've tested over that past few weeks none has inspired me enough to post about it. And as I'm sure you know;- nothing sees the light of day here unless I've proved to myself that it works - that goes for biz-opps, list-builders and the occasional Traffic-exchange.

Odd title for the post you might think? And for a blog specialising in tips for driving traffic to websites and monetising your own blog you'll probably find this pic even crazier!

I'll explain by quickly telling you how this post came about.

First thing this morning when I switched on my laptop I discovered a new way to make money with a blog so before I did anything I got straight in. Expecting perhaps a 30 minute slog I was amazed to discover it took around 4 minutes to set it up - it's now running on this blog right now as we speak and is already bringing in results!

I then answered my emails, had breakfast, did a spot of reading and then decided to cook a spicy goulash with pimento for our evening meal tonight. It was whilst preparing the red pepper I realised that the post I had planned to write (which was VN - more later) was about to be superseded by the CB post just popping in to my head - and so it developed.

I know, I know - you've no idea what I'm taking about!
Sorry! Fact is when I discover new ways to drive traffic to blogs and websites or a way to add extra income to online activities I want to tell people about it as soon as I've proved that it works! That's why Global Web Traffic was created - to share my successes and ideas with people who have elected to follow my sometimes weirdly diverse and rambling blog posts!

So the CB in the title refers to ClickBank's new HopAd Builder. Simple idea but pure genius! We've all heard of Google Adsense and many of us use it to monetise our blogs (you'll see mine in the sidebar and at the bottom). ClickBank's new baby is similar but with a great twist:- instead of Google paying you (peanuts!) when people click an ad, when someone clicks a ClickBank ad and subsequently purchases the advertised product - and there are simply thousands of products - then you're paid a commission for 'selling' the product! How cool is that?

All you need is a ClickBank Account (click here to open one) and about 4 spare minutes and it's up and running. Oh - you need a blog or website as well of course but I guess that goes without saying - so I won't say it! Oops - I did!

I love ClickBank anyway - it just runs around in the background without me even considering how hard it's working and then every now and then it spews out a check (UK: cheque) which a few days later pops through my letterbox - and without exception this always comes as a complete surprise to me. It's just brilliant!

But this latest addition - HopAd Builder - just makes any blog even more monetised! And it really is very simple to do. Here's how it took just 4 minutes this morning to set it up...

I logged into my ClickBank account, went to Account Settings and then clicked on HopAd Builder

chose one of the two styles

and in a couple of clicks I was presented with a bit of javascript.

I simply copied that to my clipboard (Ctrl C)
Opened up my blogger account
Clicked Layout / Add a Gadget on the Sidebar
Selected the HTML/Javascript gadget
Pasted in my ClickBank javascript (Ctrl V)

Job done! Highly recommended! The ads were showing instantly (You'll see the white skyscraper panel on the right - click the main heading above to go the blog if you don't see the SideBar)!

So that's the CB (ClickBank) reference in the title so what, you may ask, is the VN for?
Well... it's a free eBook I've written that will help downline members of ViralNetworks to make money every month by simply logging in to their account and performing a few simple actions. I'll have to leave that for another post though because I have to get back to the kitchen to pop the red pepper into the goulash - smell is divine!

List-Builder Review and a day in the life of an Internet Marketer

I've been testing another list-builder for the past 4 weeks and I have to say - I'm really liking it because it's a little different to the run-of-the-mill and it's bringing in results. So it definitely sees the light of day here on Global Web Traffic and appears below.

But first... someone suggested the other day that it would be of interest to many Global Web Traffic followers if I were to post a little about my typical day so I thought I would, but if you'd rather skip it and get straight to the list-builder review just scroll down a way... (but you'll miss some interesting links and tips that may just appear here!). A Day In The Life Of An Internet Marketer...

It's Monday morning - I used to hate them but now I love 'em!

It's 10am and I'm slightly ashamed to say I've just crawled out of bed. There's an unusually eerie quietness outside as I open the curtains to find snow all around and falling heavily.

I feel I ought to explain that this isn't the view from my window - it was taken on a walk later in the day. The aroma of sausages hits my nostrils but I know full well that's just wishful thinking. Pam has been up some time and cooks herself porridge every morning . Is it just me or do your senses confuse the smell of sausages frying with that of Scott's Porridge Oats? OK - that'll be just me then!

Having showered and headed downstairs I discover that I've missed a phone call from my daughter who rang to say her driving test had been cancelled due to the heavy snowfall. This actually is the second time - it was cancelled just before Christmas when a tyre burst on her instructors car on the way to the test centre and he replaced it with the space-saver in the boot which was then deemed illegal by the examiner! Shelley feels she's destined never to be let loose on the roads on her own! Keith - her partner - thinks it's for the best!

I decide to have my cereal and a huge cup of steaming tea in the garden room so I can watch the snow which seems as if it's going to be here for the day - the sky is just full of it.

A blackbird skips in to feed on the seed we put out. He's quickly joined by no less than 6 Long-Tailed Tits frantically swinging from the feeders. A wood pigeon sits on the fence and seems to be presiding over events and shaking the snowflakes off his back.

After brekkie I switch my laptop on and check out what's been happening over the weekend. As usual scores of emails have flooded in over the last 2 days. I send 4 new Birthday Bonus Members a welcome email and add them to my list to keep in touch with them. I find my ClickBank account has increased over the weekend by nearly $200 thanks to a few emails sent out on Friday promoting Satellite TV for Your PC - every little helps as the old adage goes! 3 new prospects have arrived to find out what e-lottery is all about so I pop them an email with my contact details on inviting them to call or skype me if they have any questions.

I then spend 30 minutes on ViralNetworks answering queries, making new contacts, viewing a few very informative videos - I've discovered such a lot by interacting with other Internet Marketers here and shared my info and views too. It's also a place to have fun so I spend a few minutes in idle banter. January was the first ever pay-cycle so it will be interesting to see what revenue share we get as qualifiers - and qualifying is just so easy if you're prepared to spend just a few minutes each day building up your credits - you don't even have to refer others to get a slice of the revenue!

The mid-day news on Radio 2 announces that England is having the heaviest snow in 18 years! It hasn't stopped snowing since I first looked out of the window earlier (OK - not that much earlier but you know what I mean!).

I answer a few more emails and skypes and then spend some time looking at a couple more list-builders that I may be testing out and reviewing. Using list-builders by the way has been one of the chief reasons for my success in Internet Marketing over the years - I just love 'em! I'm not so keen on Traffic Exchanges - they're just too much like hard work - the only one I can honestly recommend is ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

There's news of schools shut, motorways closed, scores of road traffic accidents all over the country and thousands of people ending up back home after trying to get to work. All 5 UK Airports are closed and no London Buses are running at all! Am I glad I found a way to make a living online? You bet!

There's time for a bowl of delicious Pumpkin Soup before setting off for an hour or more walk (or ski!). Walking helps to get my creative juices flowing so I try to do what we call the 'lane walk' most weekdays - even with 3 or 4 inches of snow all around! It clears my head which is absolutely necessary 'cause there's such a lot of stuff buzzing around there most of the time!

So donning boots, gloves, woolly hat and waterproofs I set out into still heavily falling snow now accompanied by quite a strong wind. As I turn the corner into the lane what a sight beholds! The trees all look as if they're draped in fine wispy gossamer...

I walk for about an hour-and-a half taking a few shots along the way...

Glad I don't need the car today!

Return home to another cup of tea and the most wonderful smell coming from the kitchen - a warming beef stew simmering away in the oven. Delightful!

After demolishing this more than satisfying meal we then both pop into the online e-lottery conference room for a fantastic Monday night session with congenial host Malcolm Horsey and an exciting presentation from Neil Verlander on The 1 System which I'm sure is going to rocket all Affiliate businesses. The latest List-Builder review

ListQUIK comes from the same stable as Revenue Magic which I reviewed some weeks back and is really an off-shoot from that but it's becoming so popular it now stands on its own 2 feet and has something that no other list-builder has to my knowledge:- the chance to receive cash for reading members emails! This means, of course, with the lure for a cash prize many more emails are getting read, making for more click-throughs to member websites and ultimately more sign-ups/sales. Excellent!

Blogging For Money Part 2

A couple of weeks ago I talked about the prospect of making money from your own blog and had a lot of positive response and requests for more of the same. It seems many of my readers have their own blogs but would love to find out how to make a bit of extra money from doing it. If you want to read the previous Blogging For Money post please click here

So although my Global Web Traffic blog is primarily, as the name suggests, where I post a review of the best list-builders and the occasional traffic-exchange (and don't forget it's only those that work for me that see the light of day here) I'm quite keen to expand on the Blogging For Money route too. As long as I still have time to enjoy my other pursuits like my Wrekin Forest Volunteers weekly forays that is!

So let's explore the second item that appeared in that previous post:-

Your own banner on your blog
When I say your own banner I mean a banner that promotes your own business, affiliate business or service. Once you have people visiting your blog and subscribing to it (and don't forget to to this with Global Web Traffic by entering your email address or subscribing by RSS - see top right) and your blog is interesting enough people will want to take a look around and see what else is on offer. A simple banner creates further interest and as a result can make money for you when people buy your product or your service or join your affiliate business.

Let's take a look at affiliate banners.
See the one at the top of the blog here advertising the 'Birthday Bonus Club'? Well that's an affiliate banner. Click on that and join for free. You'll be joining under me as the banner carries my affiliate link behind it.

Actually, as a little aside I think BBC ('Birthday Bonus Club') is a great and very refreshing new concept: you join for free and agree to pay 12 friends between $2 and $5 on their birthdays and you could receive up to $140,000 on your own birthday! Sounds crazy I know but it costs nothing to join and I think you'll soon discover why I and many of my contemporaries are getting so excited about this.

Anyway back to the banner
When you join an online affiliate program you'll be able to promote the same program using a banner. This will automatically carry your own unique affiliate link in its coding so that when someone clicks it they will go to your own replicated site for that particular program and if they join they will have joined under you. That's how nearly all online affiliate programs work.

So whatever program you're in take a look around your back office, normally under Promotions or Tools, and copy the banner Embed Code to a Notepad file or just hold it on your clipboard. Then if you have, for example, a blogger.com based blog (as this is) just sign in and go to Layout and click 'Add a Gadget'.

This opens a window - select the HTML/JavaScript gadget by clicking the '+' sign

Which opens another window. This is where you paste your Embed Code - you can add a title or leave it blank - and then click Save

That's it - job done. You can move the gadget to anywhere in your layout that you like; at the top, sidebar or bottom.

What if you want to put a banner in a post?
You can't insert a gadget into an actual post but it's just as easy to insert a banner right there where you're typing. In Layout create a new post and at the top of the window click the Edit Html tab and paste your embed code. Click the Compose tab and wallah! There's your banner!

Incidentally, the banner shown here is not the banner you will see when you join BBC - I didn't find the banner they have for affiliates especially inspirational so I made this simple one for free myself using a website that I found. You may think mine's not that inspiring either but it's simple and to the point.

If you want to make your own banners for any business or affiliate program here's where I created this one:-

There's no software to download it's all done online and works really well. You can upgrade if you wish to obtain more graphics, templates and gizmo's but the basic stuff is good enough for most applications.

So the 'Blogging For Money' suggestion this week is to get your affiliate banner or banners up there on your own blog and go make some money! And you won't go far wrong by joining BBC and sticking your own banner (either off-the-shelf from the BBC back office or by creating your own) on your blog which could bring you a mass of cash birthday presents. Don't forget it's free to join and you'll never pay more than $60 as gifts in any 12 month period. Sounded good to me so I joined!

ViralNetworks - another look...

Hello everyone and a somewhat belated Happy New Year to one and all.

And gosh - is it cold or what over here in the UK? Minus 10 last night in some places! And just to prove it - here's a shot of a Shropshire Hill a few minutes from our front door:

My focus for building relationships and my business over Christmas and the icy New Year has predominantly been with just two websites; Twitter and ViralNetworks with far more time spent with ViralNetworks since its full launch.

I just think it's amazing! Now that it's live we can all see what an awesome tool this is for building any online business. And you can also earn from VN whilst you're doing that! That's got to be a true Win-Win situation.

The idea is you look around at the thousands of members, connect with those you want to, show them your business, upload pics and videos, leave comments, join in the forum, send mesages and earn credits along the way. Credits can then transform into hard cash as part of the Revenue Share Pool. That's even before we start to talk about what happens if we refer a few others too!

There's a great community over there and I guess this post is attempting to preach to the converted as I'm sure practically everyone reading this will already be a member - but if you have any sort of online business and you're not at least a free member then you're definitely missing one of the biggest tricks in online business of this decade.

So for the few who are not in I would respectfully suggest that you at least join for free, but if you're a serious player then you'll want to upgrade. As a Gold Member for example you can email 30,000 random members every month! To call them 'random members' is a grave misjustice though; they are serious online marketers like myself who always seem to have their doors open to listen to what other members have to offer. I've joined 3 new programs already this year after connecting with like-minded people!

It's a truly great community - come on in and have a look around. There are some fab videos and here's a cool thing; every time you view one, you gain more credits!

Well... I signed up for Twitter a long time ago - probably when it first kicked off and I rarely used it. It just didn't fire me up at all.

BUT...

After much furore from my peers and associates I've recently been re-discovering this very simple yet dynamic social networking site - practically everyone I know online seems to be using it.

Unlike Facebook, My Space etc etc you don't have to wade knee deep through warm treacle trying to find your way through all the gadgets, gizmos and gunk. Twitter revolves around one simple concept, one simple question 'What are you doing' and you answer as often as you like; weekly, daily, hourly using just 140 characters max each post.

Why Twitter?

Rapport and relationship-building equals valuable prospects who grow to trust and respect you - and some will join your business

The thing is - whilst delving a little deeper into the Twitter revolution I've realised something that makes me want to turn right round and kick myself: I've been missing out on FREE traffic to my blogs and websites! How could I have poo-poohed this and totally passed it by? Maybe because it just seemed so silly! Why would I want to tell others what I was up to? Why would anyone? Except perhaps thousands of teenagers with nothing better to do with their time than chitter chatter with mindless enthusiasm?

Who uses Twitter?
The thing is - Twitter is now used by millions all over the world who are really just there to connect to others and I'm making great new friends with people with similar interests all over the globe. And my Twitter friends are not like the faceless so-called 'friends' that you find in the already established and major social networking sites - they're people who seem genuinely interested in me which makes me become interested in them.

But it's not just connection on a very personal one-to-one scale - huge companies and establishments use Twitter to keep in touch with their customers and their employees and I find that just so mind-blowing.

Celebs
Many famous celebrities use Twitter and post regularly - so if you follow them you'll see what they're doing, where they're going even before the tabloids do! That's cool! I've been following Stephen Fry for a couple of weeks now - he's touring around at the moment using his iphone to post his twitters; he's been to LA and now in New Zealand and when I switched my PC on this morning I had an email to inform me that Stephen was now following me so he receives all my updates.

I've also found myself following Jonathan Ross. I know, I know! He's found himself somewhat chastised of late but it's kinda interesting to catch his comments. He's currently in Florida enjoying the big rides and sunshine.

To me - the celeb thing is the lighter side of twitter - the fun side.

What can I do with this?
So I found myself thinking ' how can I use this to build my prospect list?'. So I looked around, I listened to scores of audio messages and watched loads of videos all presented by people who were using Twitter for commercial rewards and one thing is now very clear to me; Twitter is an awesome communication tool. You just need to look beyond the 'What are you doing?' thing and use the question to build relationships.

If you go right out and blast several updates a day with 'Join my business now' you'll find so many people blocking you that your new found 'friends' will desert you quicker than an ice cream melts in a microwave!

Have fun and build a following of people who follow because they find you interesting, funny, cool etc.

So... my recommendation is to join Twitter if you haven't already done so, or if, like me, you've been a member for some time and not really used it - go on a little foray and re-explore. It really is quite a pleasant experience.

Just go to http://twitter.com and if you're interested in following me just click 'Find People' at the top and type in my username - paulewatts - click 'Follow' and we'll be connected! You'll then be able to see how I use it. Yesterday's Superman post has brought in an incredible amount of new followers - not sure how though - maybe they were people who were just interested in Superman - I don't know but they are all new people now following and connected to me. That's just so fab! Once you've found me click on 'Updates' to see the Superman post and all the other stuff I've been posting recently.

Use the same 'Find People' link to send invites to all the people in your web-based email account and the 'Search' facility at the bottom of the home page to find people with the same interests, or the same area geographically, or celebrities, Internet marketers, network marketers etc etc.

Churn Milk Joan found on Midgley Moor...

Hello y'all

Today, I just wanted to tell you how I came across Churn Milk Joan last week on the remote and bleak Midgley Moor! What was she doing there and was she OK?

PLUS:- a brand new List-Builder launched last Wednesday that's really making big waves! You're gonna love this one. Very topical name apart from it's dynamic promo tools!

But first:-
Thanks to everyone who posted comments, skyped, emailed me and twittered about my last post where I talked about turning your blog into a veritable money-maker.

It's obvious that many of you would like more of the same so my next post will feature more tips and tricks on this subject.

An integral part of running a successful monetized blog is getting people to it in the first place, so we'll still be looking at list-builders and the odd traffic-exchange that particularly shines, along with lots of other methods that I use too. So... it's all coming soon!

A Walk around Luddenden Foot
A week last Thursday (Dec 11) saw us driving up to our friends who live on a hillside at Luddenden, West Yorkshire for a few days walking, talking and drinking!

Friday started cold but sunny so the 4 of us headed out for a trek above the Calder valley through a lovely dingly dell of a village called Luddenden Foot and then up to, but not quite on, the high moorland.

It was a great 3 hour trek culminating at a pub. And you won't believe the name of this establishment (you'll know how I just love quaint old names - remember Lumbutts and Mankinholes?!) - it's called:-

You see! I knew you wouldn't believe me but there's the pub sign to prove it! A well known pub in West Yorkshire it doesn't take much working out to see it's a derivative of The Cat In The Well but if you say it exactly as the sign suggests (and it's alittle tricky - pause for several attempts!) you'll be an immediate friend of any Yorkshirite you come across!

It's a great pub for Pie & Peas and a good Yorkshire pint or two - or three!

I learnt something about Pie & Peas on that day that I hadn't come across before: Yorkshire Pie & Peas consist of proper cooked mushy peas (if you're outside the UK I'm not sure you'll know about mushy peas) but the pie is a hot Pork Pie.

Now, where I come from in Leicestershire - the home of the universally famous Melton Mowbray Pork Pie we would never think of even warming a Pork Pie let alone heating it right through and tipping a humongous amount of mushy peas all over it - but you know what? It was delicious and at just £3 was a rare treat! A lovely log fire to sit around made for a perfect end to our walk in the wilds of Yorkshire.

So who is she and what is it all about? Well... the day after the aforesaid walk I decided to trek out on my own as the others had things to do and places to go so Friday saw me heading down to the sylvan woods and river at Luddenden Foot and then after about a 2 hour pull up the hills I eventually arrived at the bleak and very cold Midgley Moor with no-one around anywhere, oh - apart from a female fell runner who suddenly appeared before me like a strange but fast-moving peat-sodden apparition - or maybe that's what it was. I didn't see anyone else for the rest of the day!

I was following a part of the Calderdale Way which runs along the edge of the moor when I decided to trek right across this desolate place to reach the other side of the moor and take a look down at another valley. Then there she was! Or at least a sign!

Churn Milk Joan I discovered on my return goes back about 200 years and was the name given to a Yorkshire lass who lived on her own high on the Pennine hills above the Calder valley.

Nearby stands a 7 foot tall weathered stone pillar. The top is slightly hollowed. (Sorry but the pic I took didn't work out).

The local story is that farmers used to leave their milk churns here for local folk to help themselves and they would leave money in the top of the pillar. This stone was subsequently named Churn Milk Joan in respect for said lass who apparently froze to death on this spot, but it was probably originally erected in the 16th century as a boundary marker.

The name lives on and so does the offering of money as you're supposed to reach up to the top of the pillar and remove the coins that should be there in its hollow, replacing them with some of your own. Sadly, I didn't discover this till my return but next time I'm up on Midgley Moor I'll make sure a few spare pennies go with me so that I join in and continue this fine centuries-old tradition!

But there's more - spookily more!
The stone alledgedly turns around 3 times at midnight each New Years Eve just as the village of Mytholmroyd, way down in the valley, resounds to the peel of St Michael's Church bells. Not sure how many people would make the climb that late at night and right up there on this inhospitable moor to see if was true! But anyway if you're keen let me know!

So that's the story of Churn Milk Joan and how she came to be there.

And now to business...

Launched on Wednesday (Dec 17) you might think "hang on, why is Paul recommending this when he can't possibly have had time to properly review it for us?" And you're right! I would normally run a test for around 3 or 4 weeks before I can establish whether a particular list-builder is working for me - in fact in the case of my previous post featuring Revenue Magic it was getting on for around 2 months before it saw the light of day on this blog.

Fact is I could see this one was going to be a winner before I joined. Why? Well... although it's not so different to a few other list-builders I could see it has terrific potential. Its biggest strength is the solo email option.

It's a simple tried-and-tested approach:

As a member you agree to receive a few member emails (10 per day), you read them, click a link and get a whopping 250 credits added to your account (2500 per day). Credits are then used in a variety of ways (including solo email to members) to advertise your own website or blog.

If not, why not start a blog today? Use a subject that you're interested in. A hobby for instance. Or maybe something to do with your work. Or a sport you like. Anything that interests you will interest others. That's a fact!

There are just 3 simple steps to creating a blog. The real work, however, comes after that!

For this blog I have used Google's blogger.com It's one of the easiest to use.

Marketing but not blogging?
If you're doing any kind of Internet Marketing you're missing out on loads more traffic to your websites and therefore money if you don't have your own blog and write regular but relevant posts.

This blog for instance is certainly not as professional as it could be but it is successful and it does help to build my list and therefore add value to my primary business. I have several blogs for different subjects but Global Web Traffic is by far the most followed. I'm not saying this by way of boast - I'm merely trying to make the point that blogging can push money to your bank account! And in many ways.

You might wonder how you get your own blog noticed amongst the millions out there and I have to admit I thought the same until a couple of years ago when I realised that if I had something to say that was of interest and I presented my thoughts clearly enough then people would follow.

Here's a thing though:
If you ever look around at some of the blogs out there you'll know that there's an awful lot of absolute dross out there! Agreed? Put yourself higher than the rubbish, post regularly with relevant and interesting content and you will get noticed. And the search engines will notice you too!

Apart from making sure my keywords for the search engines are rich in each post I use all the list-builders below to drive traffic to this blog and increase my subscriber list. I do this every day.

But how do you make money?
Here's a very short list of how bloggers make money directly or indirectly from their blogs - it's by no means definitive - there are dozens more but let's start with these few:-

* Web Form for data capture
* Own banner or ad with relevant offer (software, eBook, DVD etc)
* 3rd party Ads (e.g. Google Adsense or NetKlix )
* Link to your primary business

For this post let's take a look at the first one on the list; creating a data capture web form. If you've no idea what I mean take a look at the full blog ( if you're reading this just as a post in your email client or feedreader click the link http://globalwebtraffic.blogspot.com ).

Now take a look at the green round-cornered element top right titled;-Free eBook: One Ball Less & No Lucky Stars To Match! That's my web form. If you enter your name & email address you'll receive my free eBook which leads into my primary business eelott.com People join my business and I get paid commission.

Great news is I then help them to do the same. It's all about relationship building. In fact it was quite a while into my Internet Marketing sojourn before I realised that relationship-building was an integral part of all marketing online. Quite often it's subliminal, sometimes it's right in your face but it's always there. You buy a product online for example and the company will keep in touch because they want your return business. They're building relationships. Gaining trust and respect. It's so important. As I write this post I'm aiming to do the same.

What happens when details are entered into my web form?
They go straight into my Aweber account where I can perform a part of my relationship-building on autopilot through autoresponders. To set up a simple web form in a blogger.com blog is very easy once you have an autoresponder such as Aweber You simply create a web form, grab the HTML code that it creates and paste it into a blogger HTML/javascript 'Gadget' and then position where you want. That's it! Job done! You're adding prospects to your list every time you write a post. This is subliminal advertising of course because you're not just sending people to your blog in order for them to sign up to get your free eBook, report or whatever but people will see it and join your list.

So today's suggestion...
If you don't have a blog and you're looking to make online money: get cracking and create one today. It's simple to set one up but then the fun and hard work begins. But stick to it, research your topic, learn as much as you can and keep posting. Add new elements as you go - don't try and do everything all at once. Take your time and slowly but surely you'll build a following of people who look forward to every post you write.

New Review & Mucklewick Walk

Great new review of a list-builder on test but first...

Remember a couple of posts ago when I was waxing lyrical about unusual village names I came across whilst walking in West Yorkshire, UK? You know, like Lumbutts and Mankinholes?!

Well... some of you may know that I'm involved with the Wrekin Forest Volunteers who go out one day each week (come rain - come shine) to help maintain many of Shropshire's Nature Reserves and wild places. The group is run by Shropshire Wildlife Trust and when I was last over at the Trust's shop in Shrewsbury I came across a leaflet for The Mucklwick Walk.

It transpires that no-one I know has heard of this so I set out one day last week to follow the route and what a fabulous walk it is too. It's only about 6 miles but it takes in the tops of The Stiperstones hill range and Mucklewick Hill itself affording wonderful views over the beautiful Shropshire countryside.

It's a gentle circular starting out from the admittedly unattractive sounding 'The Bog' which is the name of a tiny hamlet but back in circa 1900 it was a very industrious mining centre.

The waymarked path meanders through woods, fields, dingles, tops and lanes and is truly magical. Let me know if you fancy doing it anytime and I'll meet up with you. I realise this is not necessarily worthy of a trip from the States or Ozzie Land etc but if you're somewhere in the middle of the UK then it's well worth a trip!

The summit of Mucklewick Hill

It's one of the great privileges of owning your own Internet business, the freedom to go where you want when you want. I tend to walk out on Monday's when there's hardly anyone else about. I used to HATE Monday's. Now they're just great!

And so to business...
For several weeks now I've been rigorously testing out another List-Builder thanks to a business associate of mine from New Zealand - Dianne Kneller - who was the first to send me a link.

Launched around 12 months ago, and that's good to start with, as many fail within 6 months! This one, however, looks like it's here to stay! It just keeps getting better. The reason I've held back on pushing this to the blog is that I've been waiting for a solo ad to run. Now that's happened I can report back.

It's called Revenue Magic and I'm sure many of you have heard of it - but have you tried it? I mean... really tried it?! Can I tell you what I found out?

It's a very professional looking site that looks 'cared for'. With over 14,000 members it's no small-fry - this means when you advertise your program, potentially 14,000 members will see it and because there's an earnings incentive attached members have been paid $126,059.75 to date.

What is also impressive about Revenue Magic is that the website is ranked by Alexa at 58, 867 (I just checked this) which is very high for a list-builder, especially one that is only 12 months old.

There are loads of helpful short video clips to show you what to do for each of the advertising elements so you're never left thinking 'Ok, what do I do now'. Don't know about you but that happens to me so many times with other list-builders and traffic exchanges! There are also regular webinars featuring training and important updates. All-in-all, its owners are there to help members make money and they seem determined to do whatever it takes to make that happen! Refreshing! Very refreshing!

So how does it work? You purchase points through Ad Packages which can be used in a variety of ways. I purchased 1 x Copper & Steel package plus an extra 3 x Steel packages. I then used these points to place Text Ads which appear on the Revenue Magic website for all members to see and I placed just one solo ad which went out to all 14,000 members.

This is what you see when you've created your free account. The Text Ads appear at the top and change as you move around the pages and every time you log in.

What I like about the Solo Ads is that only TWO emails are sent to the members each day. Which makes each email readable and far more effective than many solo ad programs. In other words it is more likely that members follow through, visit your website and join your program.

Due to the strict 2 Solo Ads per day policy when you place a Solo Ad it sits in a queue which you can check each day and watch your own ad move up the list:-

You have to be prepared to wait for your ad to be sent but you'll see results when it finally goes!

On this example you will see the advertiser on the bottom has to wait 18 days, each day he/she will move up a slot as 2 more Solo Ads go out.

My results
Using just a couple of Text Ads and one Solo Ad through my Squeeze Page pulled in 39 new subscribers to my list. Analysis on this worked out to be the cheapest CPS (Cost Per Subscriber) at$4.20 which is nothing short of a damn good result! That's 39 new potential sign-ups for my Primary Business!

So... my suggestion would be to set up a free account with Revenue Magic (click banner below), take a look around and choose a starter package. You may find there are special offers when you join with more points for the packages you buy. I would definitely advise you take full advantage of anything you see when you first join. Hello everyone!

Some would say I have too much time on my hands but being a life-long enthusiast of all things countryside I recently joined a group of volunteers affiliated to the Shropshire Wildlife Trust. Fortunately, my lifestyle (funded entirely by my online activities btw) allows me the time and the freedom to do such things. It's great!

We regularly go to a trust wildlife site and help to maintain in a number of ways: coppicing, scrub-clearing, building and placing nest & bat boxes and surveying insect, flower, mammal activity to name but a few. The pic above shows a few of the group (The Wrekin Forest Volunteers) burning scrub in Ercall Woods. We later enjoyed potatoes wrapped in tin-foil and cooked in the ashes. Fabulous. It's funny how something so simple - the unique taste of jacket spuds cooked in an open fire - can bring back such vivid memories of childhood. Anyway, if you wanted to find out more about what we get up to - and a lot of it is just good fun I have to say - then I'm sure you'll find a way of locating my dedicated blog, many followers of this blog have shown how resourceful they can be so let me know with a comment at the bottom if you do find it!

One of two list-builders about to go live is List Jumper and I love this one! It's clear, it's simple and it works! I've added hundreds of new prospects to my list just by using it. And - get this - I recently jumped to List Jumpers Number One Spot! Was I impressed or what?

It's not very clear I know but it shows that there are 0 members above, 2461 below and current position is #1. I just wanted to share that with you but also to tell you how I did this. It's really very simple and anyone can do it even if you join today but before I spill the beans you might be saying 'OK Paul - big deal, so what? What does it mean if you reach #1?'

Well, it means that I can email 2000 targeted prospects every 3 days with my offers and I'm now getting sign-ups for my primary online business as a result who are now following me and doing the same!

Whilst enjoying a few days break in a Yurt on a remote Welsh hillside something really different happened - and I nearly missed it!

Rather than bog down the blog with my spare-time shindigs you can read all about my and Pam's experience in the Dyfi Forest miles away from any hint of civilisation in a brand new blog I've just set up. Read about our encounter with a Devil's Coach-Horse here too!

I get loads of feedback from people who like to follow our trips and ventures and thought it would be best to try to keep this separate from the main point of this particular blog which is to test and review different ways of driving fresh targeted traffic to your websites.

Anyway...

On our return from said adventure I wound up the laptop to catch up on emails and blog posts etc and was surprised to find a link from a friend of mine who was promoting a brand new list-builder. When I clicked his link, for the first time in weeks, I was left refreshingly amazed. A new site and program had been created that was so simple and yet so potentially effective I just had to join and test it out straightaway.

My amazement soon switched to absolute glee! I was going to join as a free member but although I don't normally respond to 'One-Time-Offers' I felt I just had to on this occasion and immediately took the Silver Membership option and I'm so glad I did!

Within 6 days I had JUMPED ahead of everyone else in the program, got my Silver Membership payment back and in one day only added 25 new subscribers to my list!

Result! In fact - amazing result! This happened right out of the blue when I was still testing 3 other list-builders for review. So this has JUMPED ahead of them all. And there's a clue there.

What it does

It's a List-builder that you can use to email your promotions to within the community. Nothing new about that. You earn points for reading emails sent out by others. Nothing new about that either. If you don't quite follow what I mean here just take a look - I think you'll find it very refreshing too. It's a brand new concept and one that will take some beating! It's easy to understand and even easier to implement. Simple and straightforward stuff.

How I Use it

My recommendation is to take the Silver Membership offered on sign-up (it costs more if you take it later). After that you'll be offered Gold Membership but my advice is to stay at Silver at least for the time being. Gold allows you to email the whole network but that's not much more than you get as a Silver member at the moment (up to 2000 every 3 days). So I'll wait until the membership grows to around 10,000 (which won't be long I'm sure) before upgrading from Silver to Gold. So... go for Silver now and upgrade to Gold later would be my recommendation.

Mankinholes! No idea what I'm talking about? Well before I go on to my latest traffic review report I know many of you follow my rambles on rambling! Walks in the hills etc.

Well, last week saw us in West Yorkshire (England for those who don't know) for a few days staying at our friends house on the hillside at a place called 'Luddendenfoot' which is next to a village called 'Friendly'! Honest! You couldn't possibly make this up! The great thing about Friendly is the Fish & Chip shop with the board outside proudly announcing Friendly Fish and Chappy Chips! I always want to add Pally Peas!

Anyway, we were due to do a walk or two - the 4 of us - but Gary went down with a bad cold and didn't feel much like doing anything, so the girls promptly decided, for reasons that still escape me, that this was a grand opportunity to go on a 3-day shopping spree. Me? Don't do shopping! Don't do cities! Don't do hassle! So I took out my 1:25,000 scale maps of the area and soon decided on walking the Calderdale Way which is a recognised long-distance circular path of 50 miles.

Deciding to take it as leisurely as possible I walked half of it - 25 miles - in 3 days and it was fantastic. The scenery was delightful, the weather cold but sunny and the route fairly well marked and reasonably easy to negotiate. The Calderdale Way keeps to the 'tops' as far as possible which makes for fabulous photo opportunities. I'll email you all a link for a short slide show when I've gone through the download and editing session. There are some quite spectacular shots.

I've walked quite a lot in the area before and it never ceases to amaze me the unusual but often quaint names of the villages and hamlets that you come across and you just can't help wondering who dreamt them up - hence the title:- Lumbutts and Mankinholes are neighbouring villages whilst 'Eccles Parlour' was just a sign I walked past high up near the moors.

Even my Yorkshire friends hadn't heard of this and it's certainly not on the map. There were just a couple of houses nearby so I can only imagine it's the name given to this tiny hamlet.

Talking of 'delightful' the third day of my half-circuit ended at Blackshaw Head. I was met here by my back-up team - Gary, flushed with Night Nurse cold remedy, and the girls flushed with retail success - who duly collected me and drove the few yards up the road to a small village called 'New Delight' and an old pub resplendent with a very warm log-fire welcome called 'The New Delight Inn'. It's just brilliant isn't it?!

These names just absolutely fascinate me! That's me closest to the fire! Well... I was the coldest!

Next week by the way, as a celebration of a milestone birthday (a scary one!) Pam has planned a couple of days and nights staying in a Yurt somewhere in a Welsh forest with no-one or nothing else around for several miles. A Yurt by the way, I'm given to understand, is a large circular tent used widely by Mongolian mountain villagers.

There's no electricity and no hot water, but there is a spring nearby and a log fire in the Yurt. With temperatures set to hover around the freezing point it should be quite cosy!

I honestly can't believe Pam has organised this as living in a tent with no facilities to use her hair dryer (something that normally accompanies her everywhere she goes) is about as far removed from what she would call 'fun' as can possibly be. But I think it'll be great and I just think she's brilliant for making all the luxury sacrifices she's about to (and some she perhaps doesn't even know about yet!).

Anyway, I'll send you a quick report on our return.
