AD Agriculture Department Hangu sustains injuries in armed attack

Assistant Director of Agriculture and a senior clerk were injured when miscreants have opened fire at them at Kohat-Hangu road on Wednesday. According to press release issued by PRO Kohat police Mr. Fazal Naeem, Assistant Director of Agriculture Department Hangu Mr. Haisiatullah in his car # Peshawar M.8080, along with his Senior Clerk Maveez Khan and peon Riasatullah was coming from Hangu towards Kohat, when miscreants riding in a public transport vehicle while coming from opposite direction have opened fire at his car with fire arms, near Nusrat Khel at Kohat Hangu road, consequently AD Haisiatullah and his SC Maveez Khan were injured, his peon Riasatullah was miraculously remain unhurt. The injured were admitted in Liaqat Memorial Hospital of Kohat where their condition is reported to be out of danger. The assailants have managed to escape, Kohat police has registered the case against unknown miscreants in Chowni police station of Kohat, and has kicked off investigation, motives behind the armed attack are not known yet.

A suspect was arrested by Kohat police on Saturday morning and two hand grenades including 6kg explosive material were recovered from his possession. According to press release issued by PRO Fazal Naeem of Kohat police, suspect Raif resident of upper Orakzai was arrested by police, when he came out from a public transport vehicle heading from Tull tehsil of Hangu towards Kohat to reach its final destination in Peshawar capital of KP Pakistan. The suspect Raif after coming out from public transport vehicle near a police check post at Hangu road Kohat, was trying to reach Kohat city while walking on a railway track to avoid police check post, when was sighted and arrested by police. The arrested suspect has been shifted to unknown location for interrogation; initial results of interrogation reflect that suspect Raif was destined to deliver two hand grenades and 6kg explosive material to someone in Kohat. Police press release further states danger of terrorist attack on all the bus stands in Kohat does exist.

In two different and unrelated incident two students were injured in Kohat district of Pakistan on Saturday. Student of 8^th class Raheel had allegedly opened fire on a student girl of class 6^th Zainab in a private school situated at defense colony Kohat, after taking her hostage on gun point during school break time, consequently young Zainab was critically injured, and was rushed to KDA Hospital of Kohat, accused offender Raheel was arrested by police, a 30 bore pistol used in attack on her and bullets were also recovered from his possession. On statement from critically injured Zainab Kohat police registered a case against accused Raheel.

Meanwhile a PAF college student of second year Sheryar Hassan was hit by a stray bullet on his arm the moment he came out from college, he was rushed to the hospital and after initial medical aid he was released from their.

Newly born baby girl found from a crop field

‘A newly born baby girl wrapped in cloth was found weeping in crop fields of Kalochina Banda area of Kohat on Sunday, she was left behind by her mother their because of reasons best known to her, the baby girl was brought to Rescue 15 police station of Kohat, where after completion of all legal formalities Kohat police had handed over the baby girl to childless doctor Shafillah, whom had adopted the baby girl. A young man had committed suicide in Kohat district of KPK Pakistan on Saturday. Young Nazir Khan had shot himself dead within his home in Takht village of Kohat with his gun, reason behind his suicide are not known yet, his dead body was brought for postmortem in Lachi hospital, police had registered his case in Lachi police station of Kohat,’ press note issued by PRO Kohat police Mr. Fazal Naeem.

‘Inspector Wali Khan Khatak posted in Hangu district of KPK Pakistan was disappeared on Friday, when he came out from his residence situated in phase two of KDA Kohat. On Saturday his family members have informed Kohat police regarding his disappearance, while conducting raids for his recovery, Kohat police teams have arrested number of suspects, in Jerma area of Kohat one suspected tribesman of Orakzai tribal area was arrested while his two other accomplices have managed to escape,’ Police press note.

Government Contractor Malik Aurangzeb son of Malik Sharif resident of Chikarkote Kohat had breathed his last on Monday, he was father of Malik Bakhtiar and Jehanzeb, and was brother of Malik Bashir, Malik Abid of CNW Kohat, Malik Waheed of OGDC and of Malik Abdur Razaq, Malik Daud, Malik Zafar and Malik Ishfaq, he had also left a daughter and his widow and sister behind. He was brother in law of Ahmed Rasool Bangash. His funeral procession will move from Defense Colony Kohat at 9:pm towards his native graveyard at Chikarkote Kohat on Monday evening.

Retired Colonel Shakeel Ahmed Tariq of Pakistan Army was abducted and murdered by abductors early on Saturday morning, in their effort to save colonel Shakeel a police constable was also died during exchange of fire with abductors, a sub inspector police and a police constable were also injured. Retired Colonel Shakeel Ahmed Tariq of Pakistan Army was residing in posh area of Defense colony Kohat, while heading for morning prayers towards mosque he was abducted by unknown abductors at gunpoint, upon information regarding his abduction police had encircled all the entry and exit points of Kohat district, the abductors while moving in a car # Islamabad 350 having fake number plate have exchanged fire with Highway Patrolling police squad, consequently police constable Hamid Ali Shah was died, sub inspector police Chinar Gul and constable Adnan were injured, the abductors have also shot dead abducted retired colonel Shakeel Ahmed Tariq, and after leaving his dead body in their car near Zero point at Indus Highway have managed to escape towards hills. Dead and injured were immediately rushed to the KDA hospital after postmortem dead bodies were sent back to the native areas of deceased persons. Cases against the abductors were registered in Billitang and Chowni police stations of Kohat.

A housewife in Paracha Town Kohat says the moment I plug in washing machine to wash clothes the WAPDA electric supply system becomes defective and stops supplying electricity.

Journalist working for newspapers and websites cannot complete their tasks because of uncertain situation of electric supply system. Unannounced load shedding has become big hindrance in proper utilization of this facility for dwellers of Kohat district, you just start a chat and then electricity is gone, if your laptop batteries are not working the chat has been ended and you have almost lost your friend at the other end if he or she is American or European, they have never seen electricity load shedding of this scale which is present here in Kohat district so obvious with abrupt end of chat they are angry with you.

In case your laptop batteries are functioning you can continue with a chat on Internet but then the room in which you are sitting during the night is suddenly gone dark because of stoppage of electricity, in that case while chatting in the dark you will obviously hit wrong keys on keyboard while writing a message.

Newly married couples are the worst victim of load shedding in Kohat district during hot months of summer, in all over Pakistan whenever a couple get married almost all the relatives and neighbors become concern with outcome of their marriage, if the bride does not get pregnant in first six months of the marriage the couple become under pressure, and mother of the groom starts demanding second marriage for her son.

Recently a colleague in Islamabad has narrated a story with great sorrow and grief that another young colleague of us has got married and sleeps on the roof while his bride sleeps in her bedroom, whenever we ask whether his wife is pregnant or not our newly wedded colleague says she will be when God is willing. Actually due to long hours of electricity load shedding during the night our newly wedded colleague leaves her bride in the bed room and goes out to sleep out on the roof of his house.

There is only one place in Kohat where there is no electricity load shedding and people dwelling in that area does not pay for this utility, this place is known as WAPDA GRID STATION where WAPDA employees have residences and they control electric supply to the rest of population in Kohat. Population in the grid stations is also at increase.

From last two decades Kohat is a victim of unscheduled and unannounced electricity load shedding but people of this city became never violent, only few peaceful protests by women in Chikarkote area of Kohat were held in recent past.

USA a melting pot of civilizations and home of submerged ideologies

USA is not only a melting pot of civilizations but pragmatism of its citizens has also submerged various ideologies to reap the benefits from conflicting ideas. FDR was elected for four consecutive terms to incorporate socialistic measures to provide economic cover to unemployed and disadvantaged citizens in USA. Soon after the second world war capitalism in its pure form was left by US political leadership and socialistic measures were adopted despite of resistance from US Supreme Court during the fourth term of President FDR, which was gradually faded away during fourth term of FDR.

The intense ideological conflict between Communist and Capitalist countries have militarized the world, West European democracies and East European countries lead by Soviet Union after second world war, behind the iron curtain communist bloc countries along with their authoritarian regimes were unwilling to develop an economic and political system based on fundamental freedoms and rights of their citizens. The good aspect of communism was its social welfare measures like fulfillment of basic needs of the citizens by government. That aspect of communism was quite appealing and was compatible with almost all the religious beliefs obviously no religion allows genocide of the people whether it is economic or physical in nature. The difference in ideologies was a source of conflict and thus speedy inventions of arms of mass destruction and endless arms race between Soviet and western bloc countries were started soon after the Second World War.

Whether it was Adam Smith or Karl Marx both have consumed their energies to come up with economic system beneficial for the human beings, the difference between them was upon the mod of government; capitalism gives more political and economic freedoms and provides for lesser role of government. Communism completely takes over national resources of a country by government and keeps the people confined in their communes with fulfilled basic needs.

In quest to create a political system devoid of tyranny and oppression political philosophers and leaders have created different ideologies, the communist revolution in Soviet Union was against the Monarchy and Feudal lords whom have enslaved the Russian citizens, and have brought them down to the level of animals, as highlighted by Tolstoy in his novel War and Peace. But then Communist party rule has become an oppressive force bent upon exporting its ideology to rest of the world while denying political, economic and religious freedoms to its own populace.

Success of USA as democratic country reflects the wisdom of its civil and military leadership, two hundred years ago General George Washington and other participants of convention gathered to create a constitution which can provide ample safeguards against the tyranny and oppression, and to create a system of checks and balances which can abstain government organs from becoming oppressive, and to check the tyranny of majority too.

To save the world environment, and to reverse the harmful effects upon environment caused by nuclear arms race, the world leaders if recognizes the importance of American pragmatism, and become willing to change their priorities with changing needs of the times and opens their brains for acceptance of ideas beneficial for humanity at large, the existing economic crisis prevailing around the world will be also diminished.

‘Pakistan’ a victim of prolonged conflict between dictatorship and democracy

On 64th Independence Day of Pakistan this year people of Pakistan were lucky enough to remain under a democratically elected government, which has completed its three years out of five years tenure. PPP lead coalition government has achieved a lot during past three years, the main threat of terrorism, which was about to engulf state of Pakistan, was emanated from its tribal areas and settled area of Swat mainly. Though extremist forces are also having strong roots in settled area of Punjab too, attack on GHQ was emanated from Punjab; most of Punjabi extremist militants are getting training from training camps in tribal areas of Pakistan.

PPP lead coalition government’s brave stance against extremist militants has caused three thousand causalities of men in Pakistan Army, but eventually valiance of Pak Army men have curbed the extremism up to larger extent. Muhtarima Benazir Bhuto, son of Mian Iftikhar Hussain information minister of KPK Pakistan and many other civilians were martyred during last five years by extremists.

We have a constitution created by Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his party colleagues, which carries approval of all the major political parties leaders alive in year of 1973. During last sixty four years dictatorial forces with changed disguise were in constant conflict with people of Pakistan, and for larger period of time Pakistan was remain under dictatorial rule, in 1973 after the adoption of 1973 constitution people of Pakistan have established their rule lead by Pakistan People Party. After two general elections under democratically elected government of PPP Pakistan was again dominated by dictatorship of General Zia and then General Parvez Musharaf, in between the dictatorial rule of these two were brief periods of controlled democracy deprived of press freedom.

In brief after gaining independence on 14th of August 1947 conflict between people of Pakistan and dictatorial forces was started, popularity of ideas of the Hitler of Germany were transformed into Islamic color and most of the times the dictators have succeeded to exploit the Islamic sentiments of people of Pakistan to gain legitimacy for their dictatorial rule, General Zia was the one whom have exploited religious sentiments of the Muslim majority in Pakistan to establish his own rule. But soon people have realized that they are enslaved in the name of Islam by one man and his amended constitution.

In fact threat of extremism and dictatorial rule of extremists has been felt around the world after the Second World War, which was resulted in end of dictatorships in Germany and Italy. Communist dictators were another major threat after the Second World War, with the demise of Soviet Union after its military defeat in Afghanistan, with the nine eleven attack on New York world Trade Center and Pentagon, psychological victory was achieved by extremists when liberties of the people were curbed in USA and Great Britain to combat terrorism by their respective governments, but now gradually life is also returning to normal in these countries, though a major public outburst was witnessed in UK during past week, which was also the outcome of curbs and violations of fundamental rights of the people.

An efficient police system and intelligence network compatible with democratic freedoms of the people is best antidote of terrorist threat, curb on liberties of the people in developed democracies UK like public reaction can be the possible outcome.

Militarization of the world during cold war era had strengthened dictatorial forces and Pakistan is no exception to it, being most allied ally of USA during cold war era Pakistan was also heavily militarized, to become a truly democratic state Pakistan is in need of help from its Western allies, help from education to health and other welfare measures for the people of Pakistan can help improve the human rights situation here and can inculcate democracy in minds of people of Pakistan, mere slogans regarding welfare of the people are not enough to make it a true democracy, concrete measures in this respect are required to defeat extremism completely. Military victories are undermined by existing conducive conditions ripe for growth of extremism. Complete eradication of root causes of extremism will promote lasting peace; extension of political rights to the people of tribal areas through an ordinance promulgated by President Asif Ali Zardari is a great lead forward in this respect. More democratic measures will definitely create a situation in which people of Pakistan will be able to celebrate independence day without shadows of fear lurking all around them.

A police officer was died and two others were injured in road accidents

‘Two policemen and a driver were injured when mobile squad car of DPO Kohat was collided with a mini truck ob Kohat Pindi road near Comprehensive High School Kohat on Tuesday. The mini truck # Kohat C 4789 was appeared suddenly from side road and was collided with mobile police car carrying policemen towards Kohat Cantt, consequently, police constable driver Shakeel Ahmedd and constable Tariq including mini truck driver Muhammad Ishaq were injured, police car was also badly damaged. Injured were rushed to KDA hospital of Kohat, case was registered in Riaz Shaheed police station of Kohat,’ police press note.

‘Meanwhile Medical Technician Moeenullah Wazeer was abducted from Dolai Band Lachi area of Kohat during the night between Monday and Tuesday by unknown people for unknown reasons,’ police press note.

‘Earlier on Independence day probationary ASI Police Nasir was died when his car was collided with a coach at Kohat Hangu road near Parachgan Banda Kohat. Nasir was coming from Hangu after getting leave from Police Training Center Hangu towards his home in Jungle Khel Kohat when was hit by a coach coming from opposite direction,’ police press note.
