Alexa is an online service that measures traffic for millions of sites on the Internet in a similar way to Nielsen television show ratings. The Gnostic Teachings website has an Alexa rank of 344,516, which is in the top 1.12 % of all websites.

Gnostic Tarot Deck Progress

The long awaited Gnostic Tarot deck is advancing steadily towards completion. After a few setbacks, the volunteer artists have truly brought new life to these sacred images. Take a look at the progression: these first three images show what we started with and the first few drafts:

Abandoning these early and crude renderings, our artists have gone deep into the Egyptian sources to recover as much authentic reference material as possible. This includes jewelry design, chairs, fabrics, color palettes, iconography and more. Yet, they have chosen to present the figures with accurate proportions and anatomy, in order to emphasize the living truths within these arcana.

This is still not a finished image, but will give you an idea of how the drawings look today:

It has been a long road, but Glorian Publishing is committed to bringing this important project to humanity as soon as possible. As always, your support and donations make a huge difference.

National Advertising

Now in bookstores all over North America, full page advertisements about Samael Aun Weor and the practical Gnostic approach to spirituality are in the latest issues of Parabola magazine and Light of Consciousness, which feature prominantly in stores like Borders and Barnes & Noble, and have the potential to reach hundreds of thousands of readers.

Glorian is striving to raise international awareness of the sacred wisdom of Gnosis. As far as we know, these ads represent the first appearance of Samael Aun Weor in national media. Very few English-speaking people have heard of Samael Aun Weor. Our advertising and other outreach methods are starting to change that.

These ads are part of our campaign to reach out to humanity in new ways, and were made possible by the generous financial support of our Fund Drive. Donations made in the early weeks of the campaign made it possible for Glorian to finance these ads. Since the arrival of the worldwide economic situation, donations to the Fund Drive have been slow, thus we are unable to expand our outreach program as originally designed. We will continue to maximize the donations that arrive, and we encourage everyone to remain hopeful and follow in the example of our teachers, who remind us how to work with the Scale: by doing good deeds, we pay our debts. No matter our circumstances, let us all do what we can to alleviate the suffering others. Money is a useful tool, but is not the only way to help humanity. Learn more here.

The Pressure Increases

At these moments, humanity is facing a tremendous psychological battle, displayed by our governments and media as a financial “crisis” that they say is cause for grave concern. Subsequently, there is a great deal of fear and anxiety being spread infectiously throughout our communities and families, and the level of tension and uncertainty is rising everywhere. Everyone is worried about their money, the future, and what "might" happen. In these moments, it is helpful to remember the Gnostic teachings, which provide us with wonderful tools to overcome the many problems we face in life.

Rejecting Negative Emotions

Negative emotions are the most dangerous element we face, and we must protect ourselves from becoming infected by fear, excitement, or any kind of unconscious reaction. When we allow ourselves to be infected by negative emotions, we open the doors of our mind to suffering. To become free of suffering, we need to close our doors to negative emotions.

It is clear that humanity is deeply enslaved by a dependency upon money. Samael Aun Weor explained many times that while money is a tool that is useful in life, it becomes harmful when we develop psychological dependency upon it. In Gnosis, we define psychological dependency as slavery. A slave does not have free will. When we are enslaved by a psychological dependency of any kind, it is easy for us to be manipulated. Therefore, we need to free ourselves of our psychological dependency upon money. The result of such freedom is that we can be happy naturally, no matter if we are rich or poor. Is this not a desirable state of being?

When we close our doors to negative emotions and refuse to rely psychologically on money, we can place our trust in our own innermost Being (God, Allah, Buddha, etc). This is what Jesus taught when he advised:

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. - Matthew 6:19-21

Transformation of Circumstances

If we do happen to have poor personal circumstances, the Gnostic teachings emphasize that it is possible to transform them, but only if we truly want to change them. If so, then we need to work with the law of the balance. For example, if we are suffering financially, then we need to help others financially. In this way, we balance the scale in our favor, and everyone benefits.

This aspect of the teaching is particularly hard for the mind to grasp, which always complains that if we focus on others, we will not gain money to eat, to be clothed, or to pay our rent. We forget the teaching that Jesus gave:

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon [money]. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. - Matthew 6:24-34

It is upon the foundation indicated by these sublime words that we as a humanity can overcome the challenges that face us. Do we put our faith in paper money, government, banks, and television reporters? Or do we put our faith in the One who awaits us inside?

Once we know where we have our faith, then we need to act. There are ample resources in our books, courses, and lectures that can help you determine how to act to solve whatever problems you face in your own life.

In regard to the global situation, we at Glorian Publishing put our faith in the divine, in the Gnostic teachings, and in the conscious circle of humanity who is working hard to free us from our psychological slavery. We recognize that humanity suffers terribly, and we are dedicated to alleviating that suffering. That is why we initiated a fund drive in April in order to support our mission to bring the books of Samael Aun Weor to a larger audience. But, to be successful in any endeavor, we have to know how to work with the law that creates: the Law of Three.

Setting the Intention, Overcoming the Resistance, Reaching the Synthesis

The intention we set to raise public awareness and bring Gnosis to a wider audience is the note DO, the first note of the octave, that which initiates.

When the first note is struck, the second note naturally arises: the resistance, the note RE. In this case, the resistance has been generated in part by the reaction of Gnostic students to the current world financial crisis (there are many other ways the resistance is appearing. This is just one). When we first launched the fund drive, donations began to arrive steadily. Now, everyone is afraid of what is happening in the world, and the resistance is in full effect: our Fund Drive is very slow (see the latest info at the bottom of this page). At the moment, there are little to no new donations or book sales, our monthly income is near zero, and all of our hopes for new projects and outreach programs appear to be in jeopardy. Current donations do not keep up with our expenses and commitments, and the funds donated so far are already committed. If we had our psychological security in money, then it would be easy to become discouraged, desperate, or even manipulative in order to achieve our goals. We have seen this in some spiritual groups where fear of failure is used as a fund-raising device. Fortunately, we understand that the resistance to our goal is important and necessary, and so we are actually very happy.

In order to reach the fulfillment of a project or goal, one needs to reach the third note, MI. This only occurs when the resistance is overcome. The mind, who always longs for the easy way, wants the resistance against our goal to be small or non-existent. But this is the desire of the ego, and has nothing to do with the laws of nature. In reality, if we want to reach a great goal, we also need great resistance, for it is the dynamic energy of DO vs. RE that provides the essential energy required to reach the third note, synthesis, MI. If the initial goal (DO) and it's resistance (RE) are weak, the synthesis (MI), the end result, will be small. In this case, our goal is very high and the resistance is truly awesome, thus the synthesis will be incredible.

Now that the resistance is clear and strong, it is the time to overcome it. All this requires is willpower.

Therefore, all of us who take faith in Gnosis and the divine are in the best possible circumstances to achieve our goal. Now is the time to work harder than ever, to put more energy into our efforts, in order to reach a truly splendorous synthesis for the benefit of all humanity. It is now, in adverse circumstances, that the best possibilities for change can be found. Now is not the time to withdraw in fear. Now is the time to raise the volume of our playing, so the synthesis can ring out across the world.

In conclusion, we hope that those who are benefiting from the Gnostic teachings will be encouraged by the tremendous forces at work, and be inspired to amplify and brighten their efforts to aid humanity in these critical moments. For our part, Glorian holds fast to our faith in the power of Gnosis to transform energies into medicine and sustenance for the soul.

A New Look and New Tools

Those who have had an eye on our websites have noticed a major change in our site design. Our goal - as always - is to make it easier for visitors and students to find what they are looking for, and having found it, to be enriched. We hope that the new design will facilitate the transmission of the Gnostic teachings and help more people benefit from them. We welcome your comments, suggestions, and feeback. On that note...

New Site: Gnostic Community

In our effort to make Gnosis more accessible to humanity, we are combining several small websites into one large one. Starting today, the Gnostic School and Gnostic Retreat sites are now enclosed within the new Gnostic Community. Soon, this site will also be the home of a new Forum. The end result will be one place for all of our social interactions. We hope that this will result in a more active, vibrant, and useful network of Gnostic students and instructors, and we look forward to your help in making it a good reflection of our diverse and very important culture.

Automatic Lecture Downloads and More

Our goal is always to provide humanity with access to the purest wisdom of Gnosis, and whenever possible, freely and easily. Although Gnostic Radio has been providing free lectures and podcasts for several years, the "technologically challenged" among us have not always been able to navigate the complexities of downloads, computers, iPods, and mp3 files. We have a solution: now you can automatically download all of the lectures in a course. (For those "in the know," this is called podcasting).

It is true that we have offered podcasts for some time, but now they automatically add the newest lectures. So if you want to keep up with the weekly lectures, instead of having to go to the Gnostic Radio site to see when the newest lectures are online, iTunes (or your favorite music software) will do it for you. Anytime we add a new lecture to the site, subscribers to the Gnostic Radio Podcast will receive them automatically. If you want, the lecture will also automatically arrive directly on your music listening device (iPod, iPhone, Walkman, or others). Yes, now we deliver! We are also offering podcasts for the variety of courses given in the past.

For students who have already downloaded some lectures, this is a good opportunity to reorganize your lecture library. Not only can you be assured of getting the complete collection, but you will receive all the latest versions. Many of the lectures had incorrect labels, graphics, course names, dates, and some just needed some editing; we have fixed them all (we hope), but if you find any errors, let us know. Subscribe to the podcast, and your lecture library will not only be easier to navigate, it will automatically add new lectures when they come online.

The Future of Gnostic Video

When we launched our Fund Drive in the Spring of 2008, we explained that our goal is primarily to raise awareness of Gnosis and Samael Aun Weor. With the donations received so far, we have begun to reach out in new ways, such as through print advertising. Now we want to demonstrate to you what the rest of the donations will support: new video projects. While our first video production (Sex: The Secret Gate to Eden) is in many ways a unique and important project to us, we intend to reach another level of quality and depth in subsequent videos. As a hint of what the completed fundraiser will help us to do, we offer you this short clip.

As you can see, this approach will have a dramatically different impact than our previous works.

Naturally, this approach is more costly, on every level. Yet, as Samael Aun Weor indicated very clearly to his students, this is the way we must communicate to humanity: by harnessing all the power of our technology, and using it for good.

We are halfway through our initial investment into a very modest video production system. Based on what we have invested so far, we are able to begin producing short clips like this one (and yes, more will come). Yet, to make a video for broadcast or DVD release, we have a long way to go. That is why we need your help. Please support our Fund Drive. Even if you are not in a position to donate funds, you can still donate your time, your support, and your efforts. Funds are only part of the equation; we also need to raise awareness.

We appreciate all of the support from the community that has allowed us to build the foundation we have established. Now, with your strength and enthusiasm, we can build more, and build better.
